Yak N Yeti in Malvern Hills

I recently dined at Yak n yeti and had a fantastic experience, largely thanks to Arbina, the front of the house staff. She was amazing! As someone who had never tried Nepali food before, I relied on her recommendations, and they did not disappoint. The momo was delicious, and the tawa was a standout dish. Although I'm not usually a fan of sweet things, I found the mango lassi delightful—it struck the perfect balance! Exceptional service. Arbina made the visit even more enjoyable. I felt like I was in good hands throughout my meal. I will definitely be returning—100%!

Visited with family and had a wonderful experience of having Nepali food. Chicken momos with the sauce was the highlight. Rest of the food was quite authentic to Nepali taste as well. Highly recommended.

Tip top delicious food and service!

Absolutely delighted with this place. Food was amazing, and portions were great. Staff were genuinely friendly and nice to talk to. No wonder the restaurant was full on a Tuesday evening, they deserve it to be!

uninspiring bland food, I had a "special Tawa", supposedly hot, essentially a bland boring sauce poured over boiled chicken and served on a sizzler platter . Service was patchy too, Empty on a Friday night too... probably says something

Popped in with Dad and my dog Ziggy. As an Asian food enthusiast with a soft spot for Nepalese culture, I was happy to try this gem. The staff were lovely and allowed Ziggy in as long as he behaved. The food was tasty with authentic flavours, and the traditional music had Ziggy wagging his tail. The staff's friendliness were top-notch, and they adjusted the spice levels perfectly to our taste. If you're into Indian cuisine, this place is a must-visit. Good service, delicious food, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

Wanted a curry in Malvern and decided to go here - we weren’t disappointed. Had two very nice lamb curries and was delighted that lamb was tender. Service was good and the price was very reasonable. Would recommend.

We have eaten at this restaurant on previous trips to Bath. It's great. The entrance is below the side walk level so it's kind of fun. Like an old speakeasy type feel as you enter the establishment. The server and staff are all very attentive. They help you work your way through the Nepalese menu if you're not too knowledgeable about the food. The food was exotic and wonderful. We feel the place is well worth the money even though we didn't feel it was too expensive. I'd fully recommend this place to those that want a fun experience with some really good food.

Starters were fantastic. Food was very tasty however we had 3 different dishes - 2 Nepalese and 1 Indian. The meats were different but the sauce tasted exactly the same (very nice but disappointing)

Absolutely beautiful food and if in doubt you should go. We love Nepalese food at home and have a good Nepalese community where we are. This was 100 times even better. Gorgeous spicing using ginger, garlic and chilli harmoniously on their momo, sauces and curries. We had their specials and they were great. The magic chicken starter was actual herbal and aromatic magic! And then... the byriani!

After a long day on the Malvern Circular walk we were very glad to find this place especially with all the glowing reviews on TripAdvisor. We didn't pre-book but thankfully tables were free. The menu looked interesting and varied with detailed descriptions of exotic spice combinations and Himalayan delicacies. We were both very hungry so ordered a couple of starters. The Momos were mentioned in the reviews so I ordered those and Chilli King Prawns. Sadly both starters were extremely poor representations of the dishes described on the menu. The Momos were extremely dry and the casings very tough. The filling was bitter to the taste and none of the sesame/potato sauce was present as described in the menu. The King Prawn dish didn't fit the menu description either. The meat of the Prawn was mushy and didn't resemble the texture of a prawn at all. It was lathered in a sweet and sticky sauce which again bore none of the claimed flavours as described in the menu. Half of the Momo casings were left uneaten as they were simply inedible. The Momos bore the hallmarks of having either being frozen previously and heated up to order or having being sat in a fridge for days on end. Either way I consider the condition they were served in as being frankly offensive. The mains were to follow and things didn't get any better from here. The King Prawn Pokhara as per the menu certainly had a hit of heat but other than heat it didn't taste of anything, other than tomato soup with a few slices of onion and capsicum in it. The Macha Curry looked and tasted precisely the same, effectively the same base gravy/masala with no heat at all this time. The King Prawns in the Pokhara were rock hard and resembled the texture of boot leather. Both curries resembled slop, nothing more nothing less. An utterly disgusting experience and I can't believe diners still put up with this level of contempt from supposed restrauteurs. We left both mains. The only things we can recommend are the Chutneys and the Peshwari Nan. We've eaten better microwave meals from Tesco's!

We came in midweek and had a fantastic meal. I love momos, and they were very nice, served with a lovely spicy dip. There is plenty of traditional Nepalese food on the menu as well as some of the more conventional “British Indian restaurant” fayre. We really enjoyed all the food we ordered and had a good chat with the lady who owns and runs it with her husband. She told us all about her upbringing in Nepal and was friendly and really enthusiastic about their restaurant venture in Malvern. Overall we had a great experience and would come back next time we are in the area.

This is a really great place to eat. We tried variety of Nepali and Indian vegetarian dishes and they were really really good, the lassi was amazing too. Deserts were okay, they need to be improved. But overall our meal was amazing, great tasting food and unique taste, pleasant change from Indian food.

We came across this place because of its great reviews. The food was delicious. The service was super friendly. We went there on Sunday afternoon during the quieter period. We ordered 1 starter and 2 mains, and it was more than enough. Great portions, too, and we had the Nepalese beer. Highly recommend it.

An amazing restaurant with excellent food and friendly staff. We had traditional Nepalese dishes and they were superb. This is now our ‘go to’ place for good food when in the Malvern’s 👍

The restaurant is located opposite the Foley Arms. The staff are very charming and welcoming and the service very good. The food is a mix of Nepalese and typical indian restaurant dishes. I had the Chicken Gurkha which was delicious. The chicken was very tender and the sauce very tasty. My partner had a king prawn balti and that was delicious too. We also had saag aloo which came as a creamed spinach with potato and was probably the tastiest saag aloo I have had for a long time. We also had pilau rice and a garlic naan. I have had curries elsewhere in Great Malvern that were very heavy and a bit old fashioned, but that wasn’t the case here. The restaurant serves alcohol and we had cobra beers. Nepalese beer is also available. The music - I assume it was Nepalese - created a very soothing atmosphere. There were also pictures of Nepal on the walls and pretty prayer flags. All in all, a lovely experience. Recommended.

I had authentic Nepalese food after long time which remind of my home country Nepal. I definitely recommend to visit and try different dishes with affordable prices and good service.

Absolutely superb food! We love a Nepalese curry and Yak N Yeti did themselves proud! Great service, we never felt crowded or missed out. The pickles that came with the popadoms were a little different to the usual and nicely tasty, we shared a Vegetable Manchurian starter which was amazing, we had a Gurkha curry and a Lamb Tawa as mains with saag aloo, and loved every mouthful, plus probably the best peshwari naan I’ve ever tasted. Good beer too. Can’t fault this pace at all and would gladly return if in the area again. We thought good value too, especially these days! Totally recommend! 😀👍

Enjoyed a fantastic, early, pre-theatre meal this evening. Popadoms and chutneys, starters, mains and a Cobra beer each. All beautiful, fresh, tasty food and excellent, attentive service. We will definitely be making this a regular pre-theatre stop!!

Having dined here on several occaisions l can thoroughly recommend a visit. Tasty food,generous portions,staff are attentive and discreet. The curries are delicious. Less oil than others you will not be disappointed.

I had the vegetable pakora and half were soft and half very hard. Wasn't impressed with the rest of the food either. Best thing was poppadoms and chutney tray, which says it all really.

Undoubtedly the worst sushi I have ever had. I never leave a bad review but the yak and yeti should not be making or serving sushi and have made a mockery of this skilled art. If you are going to market sushi, your current chef needs to be sent on a course or fired. Your quality, and chilled temp control is way off. Using sub standard and incorrect ingredients could seriously harm customers. Take this feedback and get much better very quickly or risk a hefty complaint. The gurkha beer was good , but the sushi has left me feeling sick

You must visit the iconic, Victorian Spa town of Great Malvern , nestling in the Malvern hills. While you're there treat yourself to a meal at the Nepalese Indian restaurant, the Yak N Yeti. The food is excellent. The staff are polite, friendly and discreet. The ambiance is calm and relaxing. We have eaten at many Indian restaurants but the Yak N Yeti is definitely one of the best. We thoroughly recommend it. You won't be disappointed.

The Lamb Tawa was delicious! The staff were easily able to adjust the spice level to my preference. There was some of the best mango chutney I've ever had! The Manchurian pakora are a must have. 10/10 would recommend coming back!

What a little gem..... Had a takeaway from here last night and wasn't expecting too much but was so surprised at the result. The speed of the order being prepared was so quick, the service was great and was so friendly. But the food was lovely on top of that, cooked to perfection, one of the best madras lamb Currys I've ever had. The spices were just right, the lamb was so soft it just melted in your mouth. So if you want to find your new favourite curry, then give this a go and you won't be disappointed.

I don't eat-out often so when I do, it needs to be special. My wife has spent time in N. India and tasted Nepalese cooking as a vegetarian, so suggested we try the Yak & Yeti as 'a treat'. Well, as a committed omnivore I am now delighted with Nepalese cooking and can recommend both their tender lamb Kathmandu dishes and garlic chicken tikka which was real chicken breast and not that horrible rubbery stuff that some restaurants serve-up. The staff were lovely and could not do enough for us. Altogether, a special evening and VERY reasonably priced. I recommend this restaurant for a wide range of Nepalese and Indian food, from mild to hot. It's there for us here in lovely Malvern and we should support them if we can, as the restaurant trade is entering tough times...

Our food was served after that of several other tables that arrived after we had ordered, and a few dishes were missing. We informed the waiter and the missing dishes were still not delivered before we finished the rest of the meal and requested the bill. It's a little trivial but the waiter handing plates and cutlery to one end of the table to be passed down to the other isn't the service you expect at a restaurant, given that every other Indian restaurant in Malvern has such a high standard. The plates were cold and the food was warm at best. Another trivial complaint but the lights in the toilets are so dim I thought the emergency lights were on and flicked the switch, only to find myself in total darkness. Would not recommend, especially given the proximity to the Anupam.

This was our first experience of Nepalese food and it was delicious. We would highly recommend the Yak n Yeti Tawa - great flavours and nicely spiced. The restaurant is very clean and cared for and the staff were warm, welcoming, attentive and professional. The food is great value for money - not to be missed if you are visiting Great Malvern!

Have been here twice, and ordered different curries both times and found them both too sweet. I only can assume they add sugar to them. Also, first time were given poppadoms and pickle tray free of charge, now they seem to be charging for them!

I had a supremely delicious meal of chicken Pokhara and the Aloo baingan. The Pokhara was the star of the show, spicy and super tasty! What a treat! The only bad thing I have to say is that I don't live in the area so won't be able to have it again! 😭

I had to look up "awesome" in the OED just in case it had been redefined as the "Yak n Yeti". The authentic exterior looks incongruous to the untrained Western eye, but it conceals the best Nepalese food I've tasted outside Nepal. I had the Pokhara dish just because the city contains fond memories for me from trekking the Annapurna Circuit, but I struck lucky as this hot offering was utterly superb. If you're not used to spicy food either take a Class AB fire extinguisher for your tongue or pick one of the zero-chilli rated curries I am reliable informed the non-spicey dishes are equally as delicious. With very reasonable prices, a wide menu, generous portions, and a warm and friendly service, this establishment cannot be beaten. I've consumed a fair amount of Asian cuisine in my time, and I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant as one of the best in its class - you won't be disappointed. 5 stars on all counts.

Very nice food with decent portion. Recommend the starter platter and also the peshwari nan (sweet with coconut and almond) , the rest are also tasty. The service and hospitality is really good.
