Not been here for many years. Thought I’d try it seen as i was in the area and I’ve gotta say it’s the worst curry iv ever had ! I got the chicken balti and my partner got the lamb rogan josh which she said was really weird tasting !!!! Mine was sooooo bland, boring and pale looking without any taste whatsoever ! If I wanted a cheap microwave meal then I’d have bought one from the co-op which in my opinion would have tasted a lot better ! £25 for an absolute pile of pathetic curry that looked and tasted worse than a microwave meal and I’m not joking ! I’ve been eating curry’s for the past three decades and I’m absolutely stunned ! I want my money back I’m absolutely fuming. Cheap horrible food and wouldn’t know a curry from a salad ! The only decent thing was the Chapatis. Avoid at all costs if you’re looking for a real curry 😡

Delicious food would highly recommend. Staff kind and friendly.

The takeaway is really good the food is always nice, however the portions are very small compared to other places and they charge the same price. Hope to try the restaurant soon.

Exalent food and service just wish we had booked in advance for more time

I had a chicken tikka main course which was dry & tough. My fellow diners thought their food was bland. One may take one's own drink which is nice but there are better curries in Bingley...

The food was good quality, though maybe portions are a little small. The place was busy, and had a good atmosphere. I like that its a BYOB as it keeps the cost down. It did take ages to be served though, we didnt get given water at first until we asked and it was one bottle for 14 of us. We had to ask twice for more bottles.

Eat here alot, and if we don't eat in we takeaway at least once a week.

Absolutely amazing, food was out of this world, very friendly staff, who were run off their feet, because it was so busy. Definately on top of my list on places to go when I'm next in Yorkshire!

I’ve been eating at the Shama Bingley (previously in Shipley) for 35+ years, not so often now because I live in Germany. As ever I loved my meal!

Haven't been in years and won't be rushing back. Tiny portions of curry slopped in a bowl with no care for presentation. Finely diced chicken (bonkers idea) with pretty bland sauce, no fresh corriander or anything. Service was fine but they need to sort out the lighting, it's like the inside of a warm fridge. Had a lovely night with friends but left with a half filled stomach for £25 a head. Much better choices in the local area.

I have to say that the food here is genuinely as good as it gets and I have never been disappointed and eat here once a week. Staff are courteous efficient and helpful, I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough.

I was very disappointed with the food and service last night. I was here 4 years ago and loved it but the curry dishes were quite gluggy with too much food dye. Presentation of the food was poorly presented. The starters were cold and soggy. I prefer crispy onion bhajis round but these were like hamburger patties. I felt rushed even though the restaurant was not busy and the lighting is way too bright. Did not provide ambiance atmosphere. For the price you have to pay I was very disappointed. Just being honest sorry.

Appaling food, ordered from Just eat - old and dry starters, awful biryani and fish - would give zero rating it the option was available! Wasted £50 on atrocious food, so dissapointed. I DO Not Recommend this Restaurant, go elsewhere!

Never been there before. In for the weekend from Dublin. Visiting family, who live nearby. Delightful, authentic food. Excellent service & well supervised by the owner.

I’m sad to report this was the worst curry we’ve had in this area. It was our first time getting from here on the recommendation from a friend; our normal place was shut for holiday. The peshwari naan basically looked like a pizza base topped with pineapple, sultanas, a little coconut and had tasted like it had some sort of sugar on top, because it was sickly sweet. It was nothing like any naan we’ve had anywhere else. The chicken in both our curries was the sort of small pre-diced processed stuff that tasted frozen. By that I mean it had no grain from the breast and had that crumbly and “powdery” texture. We only ate it because it was expensive and we were REALLY hungry. We would not get from here again.

Ate from here for the first time as a takeout on my way to a friends. disappointed with the quality and flavours to the point where all three of us left the majority of it. Usually go to the Westbourne spice in Otley or Mumbie village in Guiseley, and will continue to use them in the future.

My first experience visiting Shama, Bingley recently to celebrate my son-in-laws birthday. Absolutely wonderful experience. The food was very very tasty. Very happy with my meal. The place was very very clean including the toilets. Very reassuring. I WILL be back, soon 😋😋

Always a good curry, never go anywhere else if we fancy a night in with a good curry

Went with friends to this restaurant. There was only one member of staff who remotely made us feel welcome, the rest appeared bored and disinterested. Worse was to come. The Currie's were so poor I'd have chosen a tinned version from Tesco's priced at £1.26 over the so called food that was served up . I only had a few mouthfuls and left the rest . This was a very bad experience and I won't return.

Best lamb chops and special veg curry for a mile

Heard so many good things from friends about Shama. As a usual visitor to Cardomon up the road we thought we'd try it out. We had a few sides and a main. Nicest thing was one of the dipping sauces. Taarka Daal was ok, everything else seemed quite over cooked and, I hate to say it, bland. We had veggie dishes, maybe they are better at the meat stuff? Was rammed when I went to collect so obviously they are doing something right - but not for me.

The wife and me and our friends love the shama the food is fresh and very tasty and there's no problem with me being a celiac (gluten free) there mango lassy is delicious and the staff are friendly we will definitely recommend this restaurant

Very poor food. All our curries, there were 5 of us, looked like they had more food colouring agent in them than a childs rainbow cake and were totally tasteless. In what world is a decent curry Pink? Won't be going again, there are better choices locally. More bish bash bosh, then decent nosh.

Not worth the visit I'm afraid, we only went because our favourite one in Burley (Kashmiri aroma) was closed due to the road flooding. The food wasn't up to much, my wife's main course tasted just like her starter but was overpowered with garlic (huge lumps of it there), my seekh kebab didn't taste anything like I was expecting and the chapattis were paper thin. Sorry but this wasn't for me.

We have never been here before , I feel I have missed out , place was heaving but service was quick & friendly but best of all the food was absolutely fantastic.we have been to a lot of Indian restaurants & this place is definitely in our top 2 . We will be back

A great curry here. Always like the food and the service is good. I like that you can bring your own beer. I would recommend the chicken chilli handi if you like it spicy. Very nice indeed. But to be fair all the food is great

On 20th November 21 I ordered 2 curries but very disappointed when eating as the nest was fatty & full of gristle I won’t be going back for a while I ordered lamb biryani & special lamb ghosht It’s was a takeaway about 6pm

The food was really good, however its very, very loud in the venue. You can't hear the people around your table and I left with a massive headache!

Believe the hype about this place. It's brilliant, top quality & very very reasonably priced. Extremely good curry and I've had a few.

Been a while since eating here because of Covid. It's expanded in the meantime and is spacious and pleasantly decorated. The staff have changed but are still as pleasant and efficient as before. The food was excellent and service good.

Absolutely delicious. We would not get a curry from anywhere else! You can eat in or take out and both are at an equal high standard. The chicken saag is absolutely delicious. The naans are huge and great for sharing. Reasonably priced and the staff are super polite and very accommodating!

Last night I went to the Shama Bingley for my first restaurant curry since the easing of lock down, My friends and I were greeted at the door, covid track and trace etc were explained. All the staff were wearing visors and there were fewer chairs and tables than when I last visited in 2020.I had veg samosa, a light crispy pastry filled with a tasty filling served with a salad garnish, very nice. My chicken masala main was delicious, served with a fresh garlic naan; excellent food and good portion sizes. We all enjoyed our meals and the friendly atmosphere.

Food ok. Seems clean. But allegedly tax avoiders (according to HM Tax Inspection report from Telegraph & Argus), I wont be giving them my custom again 🤬

Good food as always, and even better value now that you can get a nice 20% discount just for paying cash. That makes it well worth the inconvenience of stopping by the cash machine. Pleasant people too.

Had a numerous amount off takeaways during lockdown. Food is always spot on and hot. Would highly recommend to anyone who wants an authentic curry made fresh. Keep up the high standards!

We have been visiting this restaurant for years but last night the long-awaited lock-down takeaway was a huge disappointment. We ordered starters and mains for 3 people. The starters were rubbery and disappointing and a tad pricey for what we got (mixed vegetarian/onion bhajis/chicken tikka) and very basic with some poor "salad" but the mains were a great disappointment. We ordered through Just Eat; although one of the mains was good (prawns & spinach balti madami for £15!!) the other two were not good at all. We ordered a balti chicken tikka masala and a balti chicken tikka garlic. There was no difference to the look or taste of either and they were indistinguishable. Neither seemed garlic-y. They were also very runny and not the usual tangy, tasty meals we have had before. They both looked like a poor stew and not up to usual standards. We also thought that the naans were very expensive and the peshwari naan very pizza-like. For over £60 we thought it was very poor and were hugely disappointed. We won't be re-ordering!
