Shahi Tandoori Takeaway in Wakefield

Absolutely astonished at the quality of food. Ordered a pizza, Chicken Puri and Samosas and they were all extremely awful. The pizza was bland and cold when it arrived, chicken puri was full of oil. The packaging of it was leaking oil. It was just chicken curry in a puri. The samosas were filled with grease and oil and even after trying to dry them with tissues, I was still unable to remove the amount of grease on them. Feel sick now. Never ever ordering from this place again. Shame on them.

Just ordered 2 doner kababs and chips only got 2 doner meat and chips both cold and just short of £20 bloody horrible and never again good luck if you try the place

When I ordered from here not long after it first opened the first 2 times were lovely, ordered meat madras and rice. Tonight a year or so on I ordered the same (meat madras which is beef and rice) my god what a mistake I made... the beef was really chewy and the madras sauce was very sweet but as if they covered up the taste with hot chillies. The rice was a tiny portion compared to the madras box size which is rubbish and to top it off ALL night and this morning I have had a bad tummy and been up and down to the toilet. Safe to say I will not be returning here again and will stick to my 2 usual favourite takeaways that do the best curries in Normanton.

I ordered the red saucy donner and it was tasty and full of flavour. Will definitely order again

Unfortunately my first and last time ordering. King prawn masala was swimming in grease! I had chips on my plate and sieved out the curry and it was still sitting on my plate it made me feel ill so I couldn’t eat it. Will never order again

Ordered at 7:50pm. Est deliver 8:40pm. Received a text at 8:40 to say it had been sent for delivery. Food arrived at 9:25pm. Everything cold obviously. Pizza had more grease on it than John Travolta's hair. Donner meat was absolutely awful. The best way I can describe it is its like that sliced ham you get in a packet at the supermarket. I never leave reviews unless the food is really good, on this occasion I had too because it really was that bad. If one person decides against it after reading this I'v done someone a favour. Seriously. AVOID!

Diabolical. Chicken jalfrezi and garlic chilli chicken were identical. Paid £2 extra for garlic chilli to be big portion, both looked the same weird colour/consistency, no garlic or chilli's. Tony spoke to !chef! Conf 2 different dishes, no way, this person can't be Indian or a chef, chips rice chapatis looked ok but cold, as couldn't eat curries all went in bin. £20 for 2 small plastic pots of identical weird yellow liquid with bit green pepper and few chunks chicken. Lots ghee/grease running on top, never again

Curry sauce was watery couldn’t taste nothing but water

I go to shahi whenever I get a takeaway and havent been disappointed yet. Food is always great and the service is awesome. Any of the few issues I have had eg missing items or whatever they have redelivered or rectified straight away, cant fault them

This bad review is for all the bad reviews. If locals can't support their local take aways then outsiders won't even try the food but avoid so they don't experience the same.

lovely tasting pizza , it would have been better had it been warm. instead it was cold. probably need some of those heat bags they all tend to have

Quick delivery and food was great!

Food was late and cold when it arrived. They decided to tell me that the milkshake I wanted was “out of stock” when the delivery man got here instead of phoning my number (that is on the just eat app) to let me know and maybe come up with a solution. And to top it all off there was little bones in the chicken korma curry (how do you miss that when preparing food I will never know)

First time here. food was amazing. although I did ask for chilli separate it came on the kebab. a little too much but it was OK. the curry was good 👍

Karahi was great, home cooked style 👌 Delivery came but was missing the pizza, apologised and the pizza came within 4 minutes. Mistakes happen but can't fault the service!

Perfect Madras Curry Piza so tasty, wish there was more options for choosing which curry you want on like a Karari one, special curry’s something different but not plain options. The sauce to go with it that I ordered extra was bhuna sauce it was excellent full of flavour. The burger was ok but would be better if there was an option to put garlic butter on the app. I did leave a message but my partner couldn’t taste the garlic apart from that outstanding food. Absolutely shocking food! Quite obviously cheap no taste no flavour threw it away after 2 slices!

The pizza was fine but the chicken tikka was dry cooked too long and also the 3pc chicken was too dry an£ over cooked to eat.

We are about 5 minutes away from the take away and from when just eat said he had set off to actual delivery time was 45 minutes . The chicken was pink and the pizza was partially burnt

Tonight I ordered the tower burger and was highly disappointed. Beef burger part tasted nice but the 2 chicken burgers were try and just looked awful inside. Shame as I look food from here normally

Ordered korma pizzas from here for quite some time now on and off and the quality is so hit and miss that after tonight's order it will be my last. Korma sauce is flavourless and to hide this the pizza is covered in cheap fast melting mozzarella. When I first started ordering these some time last year they tasted great, but now they're so bad I've felt the need to review it. I wouldn't mind but spending nearly £30 on 2 pizzas is steap and the least I expect is it to taste good.

Chicken korma was absolutely tasteless, not a single taste. Have resorted so pouring ground turmeric on it just to get it down because after working all day and going back tomorrow I just wanted edible food.

Pizza was cooked perfectly, the calzone was cooked on the outside ok, but the inside was 🥶 cold, all the filling had been cooked previously but was put in the calzone 🥶 cold, it was still cold when I received it, had to warm it up myself, which was more expense, after paying out £25. Not a happy bunny!!!!

No Salad or sauce on the burger… No salad or Chilli sauce on the munchie box, so basically made the whole meal bland.. £5 delivery fee, at least it came quick and Hot

Chips rock hard not edible chicken tikka very dry and can’t be eat wouldn’t feed to my dog Nan bread hard and fell apart 🤢 will never order from here again wen arrived chicken nuggets was all over the bag had to bin my child’s dinner none was able to be eaten

AWFUL! first time using this place, checked through the reviews and got a tandoori pizza, korma sauce and chips. The korma sauce had the colour and consistency of milk - probably a bit thinner, I’ve never had anything like it, chips very basic undercooked chips, pizza had cheese that looked like it had been set on the pizza overnight. What a waste of 27 quid. I wouldn’t eat it for free. A korma sauce should be thick and creamy - not looking like a milk cleanser.

Pizza and chips were good but the mushroom bhaji were actually just 5 mushrooms, deep fried and thrown in a box. No batter, no seasoning.

The food is just too nice, the best by far. Never had any issues I recommend every time. Keema bhuna pizza to die for definitely my number one

Regular here at shahi, nice pizzas and kebabs. The curry's used to be absolutely spot on, the last 2 chicken tikka masala I've ordered have been so spicy they've been more like a madras and far too hot. Excellent delivery times and customer service

Very good food ordered larger kebab and chips and death by pepperoni burger was the perfect size and will order from here again 10/10

The meat on 2 kebabs was hard no sauce on one of them and the mayo of the donnor and chips was sour and smelt off never will order from here again
