My mum was visiting so we decided to try this restaurant for a change - she said it was the best curry she’s ever had, and she’s 72! The food was lovely, we will definitely order from here again.

Consistent quality, chicken cooked to perfection every time thus far. Would highly recommend 20/10! This coming from a fussy eater.

Ordered delivery for my Dad for his birthday as we no longer live in the area. Shahee Mahal has been our favourite Indian restaurant in Staines for many years and the feedback from my parents was that the food was tasty, tasty very very tasty!

The food was delicious and the portions were spot on. I was also able to pre-order which meant I didn’t have to stress.

Overall it was enjoyable. Slight gripe was that naan bread was cold, and a couple of chewy/rubbery bits of chicken.

Very oily...Bryan was dry and rice seemed old not fresh...the keema naans were so thick and doey...the king orawns were like shrimps with more onions than anything else...

The food quality has degraded. The curry was very thin and the paneer was not cooked properly. It seemed strechty like a rubber. I have eaten before the same dish and the quality used to be good.

Service was fast but food was sligthly run of the mill - very runny curry sauce instead of thick and creamy, for example.

WOW...my friends took me here as they're regulars. The owner is a lovely gentleman who delivers outstanding service. The Resturant does not sell alcohol but they're happy for you to bring your own or there's an off licence right next door which you can grab your booze from. Now the important bit. The food..... in short simply fantastic. Very good portion sizes and fabulous flavours. If your in the area and looking for an authentic Bangladesh / Indian resturant or take out... give here a go. I'm sure you'll be happy you did.

Staff are totally unprofessional and greedy. I used to like this place earlier but I am disappointed now. The food quality is good but the staff are not at all good, they show arrogance / attitude when it comes to customer response. I and my wife went here 2nd time because we liked the food but this time we were not that hungry, hence ordered two rice items, then suddenly the waiter/owner came up asking "are you not going to have curry?", I replied in response that we are not that hungry, please bring us the rice items, then the owner/waiter came up again telling that "we don't take orders normally without curry". Are you seriously out of your mind ?, How can you ask your customers to have curry forcefully ??, If you are so greedy, then ask for charity rather than forcing people to have that they don't like. At the end when we asked for the bill then the waiter/owner gave the bill without chocolates but when we went last time they gave us chocolates as the bill was over 20pounds, as the bill for us was less than 12 pounds this time they were asking us pay in cash, I didn't withdraw money beforehand, I told them that I can only pay with card then they told that I have to pay 1 pound extra for service charge, ... Really greedy people.. I would suggest everybody to go some other place the owner/waiter respects you. I would never recommend my friends or family to go to this place. I am really disappointed with the kind of attitude.

Food quality here is really good. I went here tonight with my wife; we loved the food here. Staff are good, the only reason I am giving one less star is because of high wait time here. We had to wait for an hour to get our food. The number of staff members are less & that is the reason for delay.

Visited whilst on business in the area. Having been to many indians up and down the country it's a very decent restaurant. It may not blow you away but you will certainly get everything you want and reasonable price and very tasty. I had prawn Puri and chicken korahi, poppadoms, tandoori roti. I enjoyed all of it with fault. Colleagues also really enjoyed their food. Worth a visit and would go again

The staff were welcoming and very professional. The food was reasonably priced and to a good quality. I ordered something not on the menu and they made it without fuss to a very good standard. Very friendly staff and i will be sure to return.

Prices have crept up over the last year. 1.4 X the old prices in many instances. Garlic naan was £2.50, now £3.50! £3.50 for a garlic naan is insane! All dishes have gone up by a huge amount. The food is nice, but it's far from a high end area and the restaurant is very basic, for the price you could go to a much smarter restaurant in a nice location. I've been using other restaurants recently with just as nice food with sensible prices. It's a shame, but they've priced themselves out of contention.

Visited the Shahee Mahal restaurant with a colleague for dinner, when we entered the restaurant it was empty which made us worried but as we were there it quickly filled up and was full within an hour. As it was a Thursday there was a banquet offer which offered Starter, Main dish, Side and Rice or Naan bread for £17.95 each which is great value. The service was good and friendly. The food was delicious and the portion sizes were just right for us. Would definitely recommend but would go before 7 as it starts to get busy.

Our visit to the Shahee Mahal was very disappointing. The food when it finally arrived was OK but certainly not worth waiting almost an hour for. I dread to think how long we would have to wait if they were busy. We will not be returning.

Thought would try Indian away from the norm mainstream usual reastarnts in stains. Wow glad we did to our surprise how much food you got for this offer. Well happy excellent quality tasting food will definitely return if in the area again double thumbs up

Situated close to the town centre and station this unassuming venue is a great find. The staff are friendly, welcoming and very attentive. It was quite busy on a random Tuesday night in February but service was excellent and the food very good. Just what you would expect from a good value traditional Indian Restaurant. I was very pleasantly surprised as I had been told Staines did not have any decent Indians

Am being as fair as possible here: Visited with family - good food (not great but good), loved the ambience, paintings, music - but for whatever reason, the staff looked very sad in-spite of customers talking to them nicely! They seemed unhappy doing their work including senior ones (possibly the owner not sure) ;-) Definitely could improve there (but I may not be visiting in the near future as having a good time is part of the visit for me!) No beer on tap but that's okay - they have other choices in bottles - btw red wine is only via bottles (no glass). Food quantity was good but please ask them about packing extra food - they have a charge on certain packages for (surprisingly) taking home their food - I didnt want to waste it but they asked for a further charge which is neither told beforehand nor mentioned on the menu. I have taken take-away food from here and have been happy. Gave a detailed review to let you make your own choice. And staff, please cheer up! Smiling customers smiling service will go a long way!

This restaurant was once a regular destination of ours on the way back from one of the pubs in town, or for cheeky takeaways when we had just got back from a trip and didn't want to cook at home. Like many others, it has suffered in recent years from the glut of empty commercial properties, shelved developments and empty shops that has prompted a drop in visitors to Staines in general. With the nearby competition from Ancient Raj and Svetlana disappearing we were very pleased to see there is still a strong demand for good Indian cuisine, and even happier that the owner has taken advantage of the opportunity by revamping the menu and serving dishes reminiscent of the very best we have previously enjoyed here. We look forward to our next visit, if we can get a table!

We were staying at the Premier Inn in Staines and saw all the good reviews on Trip Advisor and decided to try this restaurant.

A party of four of us eat at the 'SHAHEE MAHAL' in Staines last night and it was excellent overall. The restaurant itself was busy enough but not too busy and the food was excellent- we all had different dishes and all were good. The service was pretty good, the place was welcoming and the prices were very reasonable. We will definitely be eating here again and we would recommend this restaurant.

Went here tonight with friends. First visit for hubby and I, recommendation by our friends. Food was delicious, service was great and friendly, atmosphere warm.

I went ages ago and today the food was better. The waiter wasn’t the friendliest but the service was good and the prices really cheap. I had a mixed kebab main meal as my starter which was all very good and freshly cooked. The rice was decent and the dry mixed veg was good. The chicken tikka in the naga was good quality but the sauce itself was lacking that distinctive naga chilli taste for me (but it was good). All in all good food and good sauce and with a few little bits would have been a 5.

I have had take aways and eaten in at Shahee Mahal many times and it is always an enjoyable meal. The food is fantastic and the service top notch. I highly recommend it if you are in the area, and if you aren’t it’s worth the trip!

This place is my favourite Indian in the area. The food is good value, well cooked, tasty and fresh. I often get delivery too and it’s always hot and just as good as if I ate in the restaurant. Staff are friendly and always willing to help with explaining dishes.

We have been coming to this restaurant for many years. Last night we had a King Prawn Chilli Massala with plain rice and a Bombay potato washed down with a nice glass of Chianti. The meal and the service was absolutely superb. We would highly recommend this truly great restaurant

The best Indian I’ve had in years, no question.

I go to this restaurant regularly. It's the only place in the area I now go to for a curry. The service is amazing. Very happy, helpful and friendly staff. The food is amazing. The menu has a lot of choice so far I haven't the same dish twice and every time the dish is delicious. The mid week meal deal is also very good. This is an excellent place to eat any night of the week. They even deliver! I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Visit the Shahee Mahal 3 or 4 times a year with football friends , always having a good meal and friendly service.

This is a great place that we go to several times each year to meet some friends. The waiter always remembers us and the restaurant always serves me a perfectly cooked tandoori mixed grill. I have never been to an Indian restaurant that manages to get all of the mixed grill cooked perfectly. We always spend several hours in this restaurant and are always very happy with the quality of the food.

El Dhansak mixta era realmente bueno. Un montón de carne y el dulce/amarga rebajos y calidez del plato. Mi esposa tenía las gambas tandoori king, que también era excelente. Ambos aclararon los platos. Mohamed dirige un restaurante muy bueno que mi esposa y yo uso regularmente. Cuando nos tomamos amigos son invariablemente impresionados con la calidad de la comida.

La comida aquí es tan coherente y tan sabrosa. El restaurante destaca muy por encima de la mayoría y el personal y el propietario son siempre tan atento a mis peticiones como vegetariano. Siempre vamos a acomodar y milla extrea nunca he tenido nada menos que una comida increíble. 10 / 10! ! !

Que visite Londres semanalmente en negocios y he descubierto recientemente este restaurante después buscando un curry agradable una noche. Ahora vienen aquí semanales, ya que realmente es genial. La comida es deliciosa y el servicio es genial. Me gusta un curry y sus Naga es la mejor que he probado, caliente, pero llena de sabor. Me encanta este lugar y no puedo recomendar lo suficiente!

Pedimos de ustedes tesis la última noche, ya que normalmente uso red rose pero siempre conseguir la orden equivocada y se tarda una eternidad, así que decidimos probarlo. Absolutamente fabulosa comida era muy sabrosa llegó cuando me dijeron que y no era demasiado caro. Sin duda las utiliza en el futuro para nuestros curris.

Como siempre, la comida era buenísima. Me encantan los ricos sabores profundos de los platos y el carácter individual de cada plato. El personal es agradable y una buena relación con cene en ofertas de domingo a jueves. Favorito en Staines.

Our second visit to Shahee Mahal when visiting Staines for a London weekend.The food is tasty with good portion sizes, but I did find the chicken jalfrezi a bit hotter than average!Poppadoms came with a very good pickle selection, and vegetable samosas were crisp and well filled,Recommend for an everyday curry meal, but not for a special occasion.

We selected a 9 pm delivery, got a message saying it would be 20 mins late, but it actually arrived 20 mins early. No biggie really but we're still in the bath

The waiter was friendly and the service good with very reasonable prices. The food though was very average with salty chicken tikka and tough lamb. It would be fine if you want a cheap quick meal but no good if you expect quality. 5/10

Poor customer service. Food arrived 40 minutes late. When we rang up to ask where our food was, we were hung up on. Korma wasn't very nice. Waste of money.

We just moved to colnbrook in berks and was recommended by my daughter as she went here once, and she liked it, the food was lovely and not sloppy curries like some restaurants curries are. We were given nice hospitality and the food came out hot. And we was so pleased with their food we now order it when we fancy a takaway.. We would make the 4 mile journey to dine here or even collect a dinner.Highly recommend this restaurant, only issue is no parking directly outside, but just round the corner is a car park, free in the evenings for staines town. But worth the 2 min walk. You wont be disappointed.

Menu said "served with Pilau rice" however I got home and there was no rice. Ripped off.

The food was delicious and arrived hot. Delivery took a little longer but it was a sat night and I know it was very busy Well worth the wait, and enough for a scrummy breakfast as well

food was really salty today which was a shame

Food was laced with oil, there was about 4mm of oil on top of the curry. When I drained it the oil was bright yellow, tasted like there was a lot of salt.

Great food, nothing is too much trouble if you have any special requests, they can cook new dishes that are not on the menu if you explain what you want. Nice friendly service.

Set menu meals here can't be beaten in terms of value. The food is delicious and I never need to go anywhere else for a great curry in Staines. The lamb rogan and butter chicken are delicious.

We contacted the restaurant to make a large order for takeaway for 25 people.When we said we were in Egham they said they would not deliver. We are 2.9 miles away and it clearly states delivery is an option within 3 miles.Not impressed, we spent ages selecting our dishes to then be told no.Will not be rushing to eat here!Very disappointing.......

As per our previous review, excellent food, service and supreme value. We can now add consistency to the list having been back several times as I'm doing a course in the Heathrow area and am eating out every night.

We were forced to consider another restaurant for our stay near Heathrow when we found our normal haunt was shut. On the strength of several other reviews we thought we'd give Shahee Mahal a go. The decor is pleasant, the service outstanding and the food is very good. The icing on the cake is that it represents one of the best value restaurants we've ever been to. The deal we had (available Mon, Tue and Wed) at £11.95 for starter, main, rice, side dish and a beer is unbeatable! I'll be back there again next week.

A comprehensive menu with all food cooked to order and subtly spicedTheir set menu lunch deals are very good value and service is always polite and swift - definitely what you need for a lunchbreak.In a town where there are numerous Asian restaurants and on a a small road where three actively compete this is a great find.Parking is a problem in this area.But its worth a short walk from the rail station or Two Rivers
