Be careful, they CHEAT you for pennies. Samosas are 70p each. But if you eat in they charge you 72p each. They dont tell you this anywhere. Now I ordered 4 Samosas eat in. And after eating, ordered 10 for takeaway uncooked. The staff charged me 72p for eat in as well as takeaway. The woman was very rude and the gentleman was not interested in checking the charges.

Rudest, slowest, unfriendliest staff ever! I bought samosas and they way the lady was smashing them into the bay destroyed them! Threw in a tub of chutney into bag not even placed carefully! I had ask for a separate bag others it would have spilt. NEVER GOING BACK! Also samosa were mediocre, full of mash potatoes. Yuck. Don’t wast your time for samosa, go elsewhere.

Diabolical. Disgraceful customer service from one particular indian lady at the till, full of attitude which was shocking, especially when she got the order wrong. Exceptionally rude. Pre-ordered over the telephone, one of the items was for three samosas, and I can only assume they have "miscounted" and given two samosas. The paneer and plain paratha have no taste, lacking salt. Muttar paneer was super watery - like dal consistency and did not taste anything like it commonly should do. The chaat was edible. Not sure where all these positive reviews are stemming from. This area has some fantastic pure veg Indian places to eat and this certainly is not one of them. Undoubtedly never returning here again.

My family and I really loved the samosas and I'm so glad I stumbled across this restaurant today. To find food that tastes just as great as homemade food is so special. We'll definitely be going back. The customer service was great and I was so impressed at how hygienic everything was. The plastic shields and masks were worn. They take their health and safety very seriously. Very well done!

This place was well known for its samosas, what can I say! So disappointing to see it’s gone so downhill ! I used to visit the original on south road as a 15 year old ... now 43 ... went and had the samosas and can set it’s totally lost it... you can get such a samosa anywhere, probably even better. Service is not good, quality and taste are massively not the same. Disappointing. Would not be going back for sure. Sad to see a place with such history get like this !

I have bought samosas when shahanshah opened back in 1987 or so. Samosas were the best. From 2012 onwards the standards dropped and the samosas are no longer crispy and flavour is bland. The filling is just boiled potatos with peas. The outer wrap is almost half cooked and stretchy dough. No flavour and not crispy. I think they cut costs to increase profits and use cheap ingredients and perhaps changed methods. New management now, even worse. The quality of the samosas is rubbish, you pay the money they want but, the service is poor. Lack of customer service skills and bloody minded attitude and rudeness from Mr. Singh who serves you. Real shame. We now buy from the shop next door!

If you want the best Samosa's in Southall then this is your best place to visit, they taste consistently good and even under new management they have still maintained that excellent quality we have come to expect and love over the past few decades. Overall the food on offer is very good whether you want a chaat or some mathia it is of high quality and they even except card payments now!!! The price of the food is very competitive amongst other restaurants but I would not recommend sitting in and eating as space is quite tight and the restaurant is often busy, avoid at peak times such as Diwali or Varskahi as the ques are out of the door. A must visit for all.

My family and I have been loyal customers for the past 30 +years. Absolutely love the potato and paneer samosas and the chutney is amazing. I have tired quite a few Samosas from many shops in west London but these guys def sell the best. Recently the shop has changed owners I believe and as a result they changed the recipe for the potato samosas which is very disappointing. They sell really nice barfi and in particular I like chum chum and rasgulle This is a family run joint and unfortunately the attitude of people servicing isn’t that great. Please don’t let this put you off they definitely have very good food. I live 25 miles away and always when I can I will go there to order somosas

An ageing establishment in dire need of renovation. The cleanliness of the front of house makes me question what is going on back in the kitchen. I've often caught staff including the owners eating the mithai (Indian sweets) from the display counter using their bare hands straight to their mouth! I would say that hygiene certificate needs a review! Furthermore the attitude of the staff and management really needs to improve. Service is NEVER with a smile or a friendly word despite the many times I have greeted them with respect and attempted to strike a conversation. Good samosas and papdi chaat nevertheless.

We used to measure it out very carefully. We recently went for our Shahanshah for a family feast with prepared appetites. Shahanshah, what did you do with the tamarind sauce? It has changed...almost like it has a BBQ or smoky type ingredient. Please, please, bring back the original. It is far superior and we want to give you five stars again. Papri chaat still first class!

The staff never seem in a rush to serve customers quickly, they take their time, even when the queue is building up. I waited nearly twenty minutes, even when I was second in the line.Normally I am a patient person, but this time I just couldn't believe the service, so I walked out, and got my food from the restUrant across the road. Every time I've gone to this place I have had to wait at least 10mins but this time was over 15 mins just watching the two staff members taking their time.As it turned out the othr restaurant food was nice, so will be taking my custom there in future.

Shahanshah is renowned for the best samosas in Southall, and they are reliably excellent. Both the ordinary (veggie) ones and the paneer (vegetarian cheese) ones are really good - substantial, freshly cooked, and good value for money. The only problem is that there's nearly always a queue coming out of the door, especially at weekends or when there's a festival going on. The staff also don't seem bothered about service, probably because the food does the talking for them!

A regular in the queue behind me mentioned this to the man behind the counter, and he said that the other staff member was on a break. Anyway as I was not in a hurry, I didn't mind waiting, I only wanted some samosas and daal. Once I was served I didn't have to wait too much longer I paid eight pound for a large takeaway daal and six so samosas. Best home cooking for vegetarian North Indian/ Punjabi meals in Southall. Had Sag Aloo, Mattar Paneer, Aloo Gobi and I have to say as close to home cooking as I have ever tasted in Southall. Mango Lassi and Salti Lassi served in large steel glasses reminded me of the Dhaba's in Punjab. The Tewa parrattas and Tewa Rotis beautifully cooked make a welcome change. The service can be a little slow but well worth the wait for the freshness of the meal. The constant queues in this small joint for the takeways and especially the home made samosas speak in abundance for the return business. I have been coming here for some years and nothing appears to have changed, quality has always been consistent. I have been going to Shahanshah since I was a born. They serve good Indian food all veggie. But their customer service sucks. The men that are behind the counter on a daily basis do not believe in service with a smile or rushing to serve the customer. When it gets busy, they are too slow in serving and can be rude. Be aware, if you make a complaint, instead of apologising and rectifying the problem, they ask you how dare you make a complaint! The food is great but the customer service is extremely poor. This has been noticed for over 20 years. Sort it out you losers! The atmosphere is crap to dine in the restaurant, a the queue of customers is right next to the people dining and if you are not Indian looking, people will stare at you. It should have been just been a take away, because the 'restaurant' is toooo small. The cleanliness when one is dining there is a bit poor. Some people behind the counter can not speak English, which is not acceptable for front line staff. They also do not answer the telephone, which again is poor customer service. When Diwali comes, they ask their family members to help out. Lots of young girls with again very very poor customer service ethic. Their prices have increased too. They rip you off when you dine there - £6.50 for a small plate of pakoras, what madness! The worst thing about Shahanshah is that they do not take criticism or complaints well.
