Even though the bar staff hadn't a clue where the beers were brewed they were all well kept and and sparkingly fresh. Nice atmosphere for a short visit

This must be the best Indian restaurant in Huddersfield at the moment. Really friendly staff just adds to the appeal. Can't wait to go back!

I’ve been to Shagun a few times with friends since it’s opening and have always been delighted with the food, friendly atmosphere and service. The dishes all seem to be freshly prepared and you can properly *see* the ingredients described in the menu (rather than the bowl of indistinguishable soup you are served at some establishments). Each dish I have tried has been delicious and certainly a class above most of the curry houses in Huddersfield. I’ve also been impressed with the wine selection – not a huge choice, but a couple of the reds are certainly very drinkable – something which I often feel lets down ever the higher end of Indian restaurants. Even given the excellent food and good wine, I would reserve my highest praise for the staff. They are all highly attentive without being overbearing, very friendly and eager to please. This is one of those restaurants who will try and accommodate any requests for changes to ingredients and you can have most dishes as mild or as hot as you like. Whilst the likes of Lala’s and Chilli Lounge might currently be attracting the masses on a Saturday night, I’d urge anyone to give Shagun a try. It is certainly my curry house of choice in Huddersfield, especially for a meal out with friends. The best endorsement I can give Shagun is that my friends and I usually dine out at a different restaurant in Huddersfield once a fortnight after the football, but we’ve already visited Shagun twice this season (i.e. since mid-August) and we are already planning another visit before Christmas. Give it a whirl; I’ll bet you go back…

Great menu and delicious food. This restaurant really should be the next place you go for a meal out! The staff are exceptionally friendly and the food is so good, you're left planning your next visit before you've walked out of the door!

I organised a party to this place for 35 people from different nationalities. We ordered all vegetarian buffet and everybody Loved it!!! They also said they will come back with their friends to try their food. Cuisines made from "Paneer" (Indian cheese/cottage cheese) is recommended. Management and food is really authentic Indian whereas other places serve Indian food but are not from India.. Staff were hospitable. Service was delayed by 5-10 minutes as they had to organise a big party but in the end everything was perfect!

A very nice takeaway, very friendly staff, my wife doesn’t like onions, so they make the dish without onions, I like mine extra spicy, and that’s how they make it.just ask, they will help. Very tasty food, nice flavours. SADLY SHANGHAI PALACE, HAVE NOW CLOSED, WE WISH THEM ALL THE BEST FOR THE FUTURE.

3 of us came here to do a honest review on this place as we do with others and it did not disappoint. 1st time here and it won’t be the last. Chicken tikka & keema garlic chilli balti Chicken vindaloo Chicken tikka and keema masala extra Asian style. All 3 were beautiful. I can’t even remember which one I liked the most. Some of the best curries I’ve ever had. The chips were bang on too. If I was to be picky I’d say the garlic naan needed to be a little thinner/crisper but we can let that slide. The staff were really attentive, the service was quality & we had a good laugh with the lads. Top pint of cobra too. 9.5 out of 10 for me 👏🏻
