We went there on Wednesday evening , it was really nice , we did have to wait ages tho for the food to arrive and it wasn’t that busy at 7 pm ! But when it did eventually come it was very nice and reasonably priced .

Had a lovely carvery today yummy meat, turkey beef gammon and pork , pigs in blankets, stuffing, yorkie and gorgeous roast potatoes and veg will definitely go back

Another poker night and another meal at the Shaftesbury. Went for the brunch, who wouldn't enjoy a full English at half nine after a few beers. Really good value for money and really good too. Think I might have found my poker night meal from now on. Recommended.

I've been to the casino many times, whether that's for a birthday party, Sunday lunch or New Years. The venue is free to get in, you do need to sign up to its membership though. The decor looks way better on the inside than the out. Don't judge a book by its cover. The drinks are cheap and the food is decent. When coming for a couple of birthday meals, the staff have always been helpful and you get loads for what you pay for. The best time to come is on a Sunday for Sunday lunch. For around £7 you get more than what you bargain for. Good sized pieces of meat and a range of unlimited vegetables, yorkshires, pigs in blankets etc... You also get free soft drinks and free cups of tea and coffee! New Year's Eve is worth it too. A great buffet is put out and there's vegetarian options too. You get a free glass of bubbly at midnight and they decorate it and include karaoke. You best get there early for a seat though!

We went the first time and had the Sunday carvery. What a superb selection and the food was delicious and piping hot. The girl on reception was very friendly and helpful. After we had enjoyed our meal and wine we decided to have a flutter. This was my first time gambling in a casino and we had a great time. Would return again but will try the restaurant at night this time.

Went for Christmas meal, well worth the visit, 3 course meal, stuffed mushrooms, carvery and Christmas pud. Good surroundings, pleasant staff. Need I.d. to get in free to become member. Well worth a visit

End of the month poker night again and again another meal at the Shaftesbury. Went for something different this time (scampi and chips) and as the title of my review says it feels like a step backwards with the food. Scampi was okay but chips very salty and dry and salad wasn't fresh. Missus had the lasagne which I tried and didn't really taste of much. Disappointed really after a few nice meals. Either way I'll be back for cards next month.

Visited the Shaftesbury on Friday last week for poker with friends. Decided to have the steak during the break and was glad I did. Really nice food and nice casino. A few of the poker players had food and everyone enjoyed their meal. V good.

We visit the Shaftesbury once a month for poker with friends and a spin on the roulette. The place is clean, staff are helpful and friendly and the casino is good. We eat when we visit and the food is also of a good standard from our experience. Well worth a visit.

Well I been coming here over the years on Sundays well but be the best carvery around. lamb is the best meat for me but all the meats are good had the all them and carved off the bone vegetables large selection of different ones . Casino it self ok and clean staff helpful all in all the best Sunday lunch.

Visited on a Wednesday evening with some friends to have a drink and a little flutter on the roulette tables. The premises were clean and tidy and all the staff were pleasant. Although we didn't eat there were several couples dining.

I went for my 18th before it got refurbished and the food was nice and the casino area was good too.I went more recently with my family for my cousins 18th where we enjoyed a tasty 3 course meal (only downside was the ice cream 'sundae' as it wasn't really like a sundae just three scoops of ice cream) but apart from that everything was fine from a set menu. The staff, a little hard understand though, were friendly. You get free tea and coffee in the casino area whilst enjoying a few games of black jack and roulette.

Had a lovely meal last night. 10 of us went out for my daughters birthday & we all had a great meal. I had sirloin steak and it was cooked perfectly. The staff are so helpful too. Will definitely recommend & will be back.

This wasn't the first visit as we usually go for Sunday lunch but the evening menu has lots of traditional choices- starters, mains and desserts. We had a lovely evening- excellent steaks and a chilli followed by cheesecakes, apple crumble and sticky toffee pud. Everyone said it was excellent value and quality....and it was followed by a small win in the casino. Great!

Ok carvery but not allowed to go back even for more vegetables. Bland atmosphere. Price ok. Security a bit OTT

we have been going regularly over the past 10 years to the casino in west bromwich for sunday lunch and it is by far the best one in the area food is always hot and fresh. a choice of 5 meats beef,turkey, pork,gammon and lamb. a choice of mashed potato new potatos and roasties. pigs in blankets stuffing balls and yorkshire puddings then all the veg. roast parsnips, sprouts,carrotts,peas, cabbage, broccoli and cauliflower cheese then thick gravy to top it all off. all for £7.50. it really is great value for money. we go a couple of times a month and i can highly reccomend. unfortunatley children are not allowed as it is a casino.
