One of us chose the set menu the other tried the a la carte, both were great good value and the service was great, hope to visit again

We had a very good lunch - and with proper restaurant service and sophistication at a price which was comparable with gastropub offerings locally. Ambience was civilised and the only issue was that service was a little slower than it might have been - probably due to several large parties in the main part of the hotel

We visited on a Saturday. The hotel was busy with some large groups so service was a little slower than it might have been. However service was friendly. Food was good and reasonably priced for the area and the surroundings. We will certainly return when we are in Tunbridge Wells in future.

Staying the weekend in Tunbridge Wells we wanted an evening meal and stumbled on this wonderful restaurant at 17 Chapel Place TN1 1YQ. Between us my wife had the pan-fried sea bass and I had the lemon grilled chicken. We both agree the best meal we have had in 20 years! The wine was also very good: I had a Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon red and my wife the Pinot Grigio. The service was impeccable and we were lucky to be given a tour of the Hotel and told its history by Grace one of the Managers. We fully recommend the Brasserie, I cannot praise it too highly!

New to Tunbridge Wells and The Brasserie caught our eye for our evening meal while wandering. Great decor, great service and exceptional food. Would recommend to anyone.

Had the club sandwich it looked nice however the avocado was brown ?? Explained that is wrong should be fresh and creamy Chef said it because he warmed it up Really !!! It was old and not fresh so Basic error Where are the standards it’s just a club sandwich won’t return soon

Really upset that Robin is not still there. Haven’t been for a while and he was the life of the restaurant - it’s just not the same.

We went with the set lunch menu which gave a good choice of dishes, expertly cooked and presented.Service was slick and professional so well worth a visit.

First time we’ve tried The Brasserie and extremely impressive. Interesting menu, delicious food, attentive and friendly service. Served by a Polish gentleman (sorry didn’t catch name) top draw service. Also very good prices including sensibly priced wine menu. We will definitely be returning, great work The Brasserie

Visited here for brunch. Nice looking restaurant from the outside. Greeted by a gentleman who proceeded to turn his back on us behind the bar at the door to carry on finishing whatever it was he was doing. Stood in silence for a minute until he turned around and grunted at us. Shown to a table. Had to change the chair twice as very old and unstable. Pot of tea ordered. Eventually brought to us but the cups were dirty so had to be changed. Ordered food. Waited far too long for it to arrive!! No real apology or explanation for the delay? Food was very nice which was good. Bit overall this is a tired restaurant in our opinion. Needs new furniture, a bit of TLC and staff need a few tips in customer service. Also the gents toilet wasn’t great

Having recently reopened for lunch and dinner, as well as the brunch service offered since refurbishment, we visited the One Warwick Park Brasserie on a calm Monday evening in March. Service was friendly and efficient and we had our pick of the tables in the clean, comfortable dining room. The menu is pretty classic, as one might expect of a brasserie, with choices to suit most tastes, budgets and dietary requirements. As an appetiser we chose some focaccia, which came toasted with oil and balsamic vinegar for dipping, then followed it with starters of crispy calamari and some chicken skewers that had just the right amount of heat in the chilli and garlic marinade, getting us off to a good start. Next my wife went for tagliatelle with courgette and butternut squash which she enjoyed, whilst I chose the rack of lamb accompanied by a Rioja jus and beautifully seasoned new potatoes which went together perfectly. I would happily have eaten any of the puddings on offer but after some consideration we shared the chocolate fondue for two, which was as fun as we had hoped. Washed down with a glass of rather decent Malbec, this was a very good meal and we are sure to return. I’d definitely recommend this place.

We've been to most of the restaurants homed at this location over many years but I think that this is the best incarnation to date. The service was exemplary and the food was amazing. It was just a Sunday Roast but it was so much more! It wasn't cheap but it was very very tasty and I would say good value and the cheese board was very generous.

We were excited to try the new Brasserie menu however we were quite disappointed with the quality given the price of food. Butterfly prawns were burnt & over cooked, no flavour and barely any meat in the shell. The lamb was nice. Deserts are very average and basic. We were left with our starter plates sat in front of us for a very long time. Long waits between the meals. We were left in the corner and couldn’t find waiter attention to order more drinks. Waiters were apologetic every time they approached us. A shame that for a new restaurant menu it seemed quality is not there at all.

We were visiting the town and found the Brasserie as we were walking around. Glad we did. Extremely welcoming and lovely atmosphere. The menus had a good selection without being overwhelming and the cocktails were good too. Service was spot on… not too quick and definitely not slow. The waiter knew the menu and his recommendations were fab. We had the lamb and the burger and both were great choices.

We visited here for the first time on Thursday and were not disappointed! We all thoroughly enjoyed the food and ambiance. The restaurant has been beautifully refurbished and has a lovely feel to it. We were moved to a really nice table in the window by the manager Robin. Robin was so friendly and engaging and was a pleasure to chat to. Katie, our waitress, did a great job despite only having been doing the role in hospitality for 3 weeks. She is clearly a quick learner! The food was delicious and presented very nicely. My friends and I had a lovely meal at STEAK. The food was beautifully presented and tasted amazing, the restaurant felt buzzy and the staff (especially Robin) were extremely helpful and friendly . I can’t remember the last time I ate such a delicious meal. Great choices of starters and mains. Portion sizes are just perfect - although my 84 year old Mum could probably have coped with the kids menu size. However, between us, we managed to polish off our plates! Steaks cooked to perfection, as you would expect from a restaurant with this name. But worth dining here just for the deserts alone. Wow! Great atmosphere and lovely staff. Can’t wait to eat here again.

Me and my girlfriend both walked in and were instantly wowed! We were greeted by Robin who took us to our table and introduced us to our waitress Olivia. The food was on point. To start we had the calamari with aioli and the Halloumi. Normally both dishes are quite consistently lovely where ever you order them, you can’t really go wrong. However both were extremely flavoursome, especially the halloumi. Probably the best halloumi dish I’ve ever tasted. For mains my girlfriend had the gnocchi, again full of flavour and before Olivia placed it on the table my girlfriend commented on how amazing it smelt! I had the ribeye (rear) with peppercorn sauce, Portobello mushroom, perfectly cooked chips (crispy but fluffy inside) and a lovely well dressed salad. For a side we had the broccoli with chill and lime, again very tasty! The steak was 10oz and very tasty, cooked perfectly! For dessert we both had the eskimo bars. The salted Carmel sauce is incredible! Finished off a perfect meal perfectly. Robin was hosting a vibrant atmosphere helped with a catchy playlist in the background. Olivia was very fast and made our time in the restaurant a pleasure. Great work! Will definitely come back and recommend to anyone.

Fabulous service by Robin and the team! Great food and attentive service. Fantastic Sunday roast; gorgeous roast beef and all the trimmings. Lovely fresh vegetables and, as a Yorkshire lass, delighted with the Yorkshire pudding! Eskimo bar is delish! Great value for money and lovely surroundings. I’ll definitely be back! ❤️

The new Steak restaurant in Chapel Place is fantastic. Only been opened one week. We went for Sunday lunch yesterday, the roast beef was cooked to perfection and very generous helpings, the vegetables were really fresh and al dente! The service was friendly, very efficient and really lovely helpful staff. Our waitress Elene was very good indeed, as too was the general manager Robin. I thought the 3 course menu for £25 was excellent value. Wines reasonably priced and a good list. Great decor, very tasteful, really nice atmosphere. It was our first meal out since October, and well worth the wait. We will most certainly be going back!

Visited Steak for the first time last night. Food was fabulous, staff attentive & friendly but not intrusive in any way. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone. Reasonably priced for food of such high quality. We had a wonderful time and will be back again soon. Highly recommended!

Everything about STEAK is amazing. The staff are friendly and helpful. We were looked after by Robin and Tamara. The food was delicious, complements to the chef. Well done on this new venture, in relaxing surroundings . Good luck in the future. We will certainly be returning.

Just had a lovely meal for a catch up with family. Such a lovely restaurant with lovely attentive staff. Our waitress Olivia was really lovely and made sure we had everything we needed without being too Intrusive. Our main meal of steak and sword fish was Devine. After having three courses we were very full and very happy. Thank you the manager Robyn and his wonderful staff. Highly recommended and we will be definitely go back

Our first indoor restaurant meal since lockdown and we loved every aspect of it. We had the set menu which was not only excellent value but had a good variety on it. We chose starters of calamari, chicken wings and halloumi, all were well presented and delicious flavours. For main course two of us had the minute steak and one had the sword fish. Fabulous! And for dessert the Eskimo bar which was amazing. Olivia was our waitress, she was excellent, as were the entire staffing team, such a welcoming atmosphere as well as a great interior design. We will definitely return!

I love steak but my wife only eats steak at a steak restaurant. If a restaurant has the audacity to call itself ’Steak’, it better live up to it!And boy, we weren’t disappointed! We both had fillet steak, medium rare and it was sublime! Finished off with the the rarer superb Eskimo Bar for dessert!Coupled with the top service from our waitress Alex, we would highly recommend!

We had two meals here out of the three evenings we were staying at the hotel. The first meal was mixed. My husband had two very good courses, which arrived promptly and we’re very hot. I had a delicious soup as a starter, but my meal was very let down by the terrible main course I had. It was cauliflower fritters, but was basically 4 small cauliflower florets fried in batter, which although crispy, were bland and tasteless. There were a few blobs of purée or similar dotted around the edge of the plate but apart from that, there were a few broccoli florets in the centre, which were over cooked, lukewarm and totally unseasoned. It was all lukewarm, and just ridiculously overpriced. As a vegan, it was the only choice available, so it was even more disappointing given that it was the only choice I had. I did complain the following day, and was told that the chef would cook me something else the next time I came in, and they took the price of the meal off the bill, so it was all sorted out. The meal I got two days later, was a vegan wellington, and was much better than the previous meal, so I was happy that it had been resolved satisfactorily.

Have to say we have eaten at 17 on lots of occasions but today really disappointing. We ordered the set menu soup to start which was average, main meal my husband ordered burger which was lovely I asked the waiter about Catch of the day which he said was fish served with potatoes and vegetables which suited me and was expecting a piece of white fish but to my dismay a huge plate of fish, chips and mushy pea was presented with a side dish of veg very odd!! When asked I did explain it was not at all what I was expecting he just said sorry and walked away. Also when we asked for the bill it came individually priced rather than the set menu cost we obviously bought it to his attention which he then changed and made a difference to us of near £20 we did pay for the whole meal but felt a little unhappy as I ate very little of mine.

Came for my 60th birthday ? Very nice tables , layout and friendly helpful staff . Only letdown was the speed of the service . The starters arrived rapidly , but there was a long gap between finishing them and the arrival of the main courses . I didn't mirror this in my rating as there was a work Christmas party in the room next door with masses of people , so they obviously put a strain on the kitchen and speed of service to the other patrons . Anyway , it didn't put a damper on the evening and the food , if not over plentiful , was of a good standard and reasonably priced .

My husband and l went to the Seventeen for afternoon tea. We were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food (especially the chocolate cake) and the very welcoming and polite staff. Nice place. Chic decoration. Definitely coming back.

I had afternoon tea here and it was really bad service. The lady was very serious & not welcoming at all. Everything we asked seemed to be a problem. I had also specified 2 vegetarian options and we got vegan & all she kept saying was “it said vegan on our system” even though I had the email proof to state otherwise. The sandwiches and scones were dry. Won’t be going back!

I go often in this Restaurant because I stay at the Hotel One Warwick Park and it’s always a pleasure when Mustafa is there. With his smiles and very professional approach give me the sensation to be at home. Nice food and best service is the right combination that a frequent traveler like me is looking for when out for long time, and I found this when I’m at Seventeen!

A group of friends wanted dinner so i booked a table. We where welcomed by the staff and offered drinks. They have a good menu and wine list something for everyone. The food was first class nicely cooked and well presented.The only drawback was the slow service from taking our order bringing the wine serving the food and having to get up to pay as they did not bring the bill when asked.This aside i will be going back as it might just been the staff off day the food is great

All of the staff were amazing, but Andrew went out of his way to ensure that our meal and experience at Seventeen was everything it should be! As the menu had recently changed, which we were unaware of before booking, there was nothing available that I would eat, being a very fussy vegetarian and pregnant. We had specifically come to Seventeen for my 30th birthday so I was a little upset but Andrew and the Chefs came up with a dish just for me, which was absolutely perfect. It was treated like I was no trouble at all! Never once made to feel uncomfortable for being so fussy! Very welcoming, very friendly and as expected amazing quality food along with great service from all of the staff. You made this birthday one to remember, thank you all! My husband and I have been recommending the restaurant and hotel to everyone already and we will definitely be back for our wedding anniversary, if you’ll have us

It was my partners birthday so we came here for our evening meal, the staff were really friendly and attentive, the food was amazing and they were more than happy to let me bring my homemade cake to be served after food. She had the pork belly and I had the pan fried salmon (one of the daily specials), both of which were amazing! An all round brilliant and lovely experience, will definitely be back to try other things on the menu. Very much looking forward to returning in a few weeks!

A really nice vibe, food was very nice, at first asked for our stake to be medium rare and got it well done.. so the waiter took it back and got us a whole new meal. Service was very good until it got to pudding.. had to ask for the menu & then to order desert & then had to ask them how much longer it would take. The pudding took about 35 mins to come. The waiter that was bald in the blue shirt was very nice and accommodating, however the other two weren’t as great.

Just had the most perfect evening at Seventeen. From the warm welcome, interesting menu and wine list as well as beautiful decor it was faultless. Looking forward to going back!!

On a busy Saturday, Seventeen was a very pleasant place to have lunch. Friendly and attentive staff, a decent wine list, a simple and tempting lunch menu in an atmosphere which makes a refreshing change from the usual chains and franchises on offer in most towns. Good quality ingredients, imaginatively prepared and served with a smile. We shared a simple starter of olives and focaccia bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Not complicated, but the olives were delicious as was everything else. The pan seared Sea Bass was cooked to perfection, the skin lightly golden and crispy and served on a tower of Tender-stem broccoli, Samphire, lightly roasted new potatoes and a sweet, spicy Tomato “jam”. A delicious combination faultlessly presented.The Pecan pie, served with thick cream, was excellent, not too sweet and, accompanied by a good espresso, was just right. We had a glass of Prosecco to start off, so ordered a glass of wine each. Wines by the glass are often limited to the standard selection, for obvious reasons, but a flinty dry Denbies English wine and a glass of Rueda were a refreshing choice. I do think restaurants in this area of England have so much choice of local English wines, perhaps this could be an opportunity to offer something even more exciting. Seventeen is closing today for three weeks for refurbishment, and when it reopens I’m looking forward to seeing an already good restaurant blossom into what Tunbridge Wells really needs, a truly independent, high quality oasis with a style all its own.

Came to Seventeen off a recommendation from a friend for my sisters birthday. Food was the only slight disappointment it wasn’t bad but wasn’t great. We enjoyed lovely cocktails at the bar and then received fantastic service throughout. They overhead it was my sisters birthday and without asking brought her out a glass of Prosecco and wished her Happy Birthday was a lovely touch. Felt very looked after the whole evening. And will be back for my birthday

We went there for lunch today. I had called two days in advance to ask if they could cater for my daughter with a severe nut allergy, they assured me they could. Upon arrival I mentioned it to the waitress again. As we ordered I mentioned it again. I am vigilant because it's a fatal allergy. As pudding arrived (which my daughter wasn't having, as I always take her own, but the restaurant weren't to know that she wasn't eating it) I saw that it was covered in pistachio shavings. There was no mention of this on the menu. Had my daughter eaten a tiny amount of this pudding she would have had ten minutes before stopping breathing and going into anaphylaxis.

A restaurant located in the heart of Tunbridge Wells. The menu is fairly limited but the quality of food is quite good. Prices are not unreasonable.

From the moment we walked in we were treated like royalty, service was fab nothing was too much trouble for the staff who even though it was busy looked after us very attentively. Food was very good also. Will be booking a table again shortly, cant wait.

We had a late lunch at the restuarnt. We have stayed at the hotel before and have eaten in the resturant. We decided to have lunch here whilst in TBW. The service - from the moment we arrived was five star. A very young team - however they all did a great job. The service, food and Champagne was excellent. We had the vegetarian starter to share, followed by fish and the vegetarian main. Very good quality food and cooked to perfection. A most relaxing late lunch - which we had booked to stay the night at the hotel. Keep up the god work - Thank you.

Our experience at Seventeen couldn’t have been much worse. We booked for a 3 course meal for £19.95 which was advertised on their website as available all day on Thursdays. After receiving our menus this wasn’t an option, so we questioned it only to be told it hasn’t been on their menu for sometime. After some negotiating our Waiter agreed to honour the advertised special.

Took my wife and mum in law for dinner. First had to actually hunt for somebody to speak to us to seat us at the table. Then was called ‘boss’ by the waiter - this claims to be an upscale restaurant - the asked for olives, did get them, in a bowl on the table, nothing to eat them with though, or a separate bowl for stones. Had 2 of the chicken bake dishes and 1 beef tenderloin, chicken was good but steak very average and not hot. No steak knife either, had to ask for that. The wine was served to me first without tasting, despite 2 women present, maybe I’m old fashioned. Overall, very ‘style over substance’ and actually whilst the service was very poor that was down to the waiters just being untrained, they were perfectly good guys. Just poor from start to finish for a place that pricey. There is far better in town and it won’t survive unless they up the game.

Visited this beautiful place for my husbands birthday. Decorated to the highest level nothing like this around Tunbridge Wells. Food very good only negative was portion size was very small. Service staff had a really connection at the table and were very attentive and smiley. Will definitely be visiting again.

We happily returned to Tunbridge Wells after a first visit last year. It was on that occasion we noticed Seventeen advertising their Wednesday Steak Night but, unfortunately, we'd already booked dinner at a well-known pizza place.

The restaurant itself has been decorated to a very high standard and the ambience is perfect.

Anlässlich unseres mehrtägigen Aufenthalts im dazugehörigen Hotel nehmen wir hier dreimal unser Abendessen ein. Die Gasträume sind - wie das ganze neue Hotel - modern, aber sehr schön gestaltet. Die wechselnden, jeweils dreigängigen Menüs wurden von höchst kompetenter und sehr freundlicher Bedienung serviert.

We have for a long time contemplated going to Seventeen, We should have booked sooner! All round this is good place to eat and hang out for a relaxed Saturday Night. Its vying for our top place to eat out on a special occasion. In a great spot in Tunbridge Wells we had a lovely meal. We were a small group of family and friends and all our food was deemed very good. The service was attentive and friendly and they overheard it was a birthday meal and brought out chocolates which was a nice touch. Cocktails also hit the mark. We will be returning.

Stumbled across this restaurant walking around Tunbridge Wells and was amazed when we walked in with the amazing decor! Food was fantastic apart from the Alaska which unfortunately was quite bland. Service was very professional and attentive. Will definitely be returning.

Its unfortunate that I have to write a bad review for this restaurant as the decor is lovely and the front of house staff were very professional and attentive but the food was terrible. I had booked the table a week in advance but when we turned up they had no booking for us however the restaurant was not busy(unlucky for us as we could of gone elsewhere). The starters took nearly 40 mins to arrive when they did 2 of them were still frozen on the inside!!! they took them away and took another 20 minutes to give us the 2 replacements, we were given bread and oils to keep us going but the bread was stale. Eventually the mains came out they were all just luke warm and the stuffed courgette flower was awful. The price of the 2 starters were removed from our bill and 1 complimentary drink was given. I can only imagine that the chef wasn't working and the kitchen staff were sending out the food, we did pay for the bill but we did comment that the food wasn't good and we definitely won't return.

Already posted on the hotel page however thought I would write a post here too. Great evening here. Atmosphere very good. Food was good I had the Tempura Prawns could have done with some more but still tasty. I then had the Chicken Supreme which was well balanced. The service was absolutely fantastic in the restaurant and very attentive.

We had dinner here last week. I had Pork Belly and my husband had steak. Both dishes were excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed. The Pecan Tart was a bit hard and not very well presented. The service is exceptionally good.

Wonderful meal, beautifully presented. Does not look a lot on the plate, but very filling. Good food, cooked simply and delicious. Not messed about with or masked with lots of sauce. Accommodated my dietary requirements with no problems. Starter, mains and dessert all fabulous. Alex talked me through the selection of gins and what had good feedback for me to make a choice. Word of warning, skip the coffee it was diabolical, such a shame to be let down on something so simple. Please get in a decent coffee, that actually tastes of...coffee!!

We eat here on a Saturday night for dinner and my wife had tempura prawns whilst I had a trio of Parmesan to start, for main we had lamb and pork belly. All dishes were beautifully balanced and not too rich as you often find when a “jus” is mentioned. The restaurant is modern and the staff were on point throughout. If I had to be slightly picky then I would change the music, it’s was slightly too upbeat but perhaps that’s just my particular taste.

A lovely hotel and Restaurant, the food was exceptional and the staff are very attentive and friendly. This place has the feel good factor, and I would highly recommend.

I visited Seventeen for a Mother’s Day lunch with my sister and our mother. We had a wonderful lunch with great service. The restaurant is furnished in an understated, modern style; I liked the amount of space between tables - sufficient to allow privacy in conversation but not so much that there is no ambience created. Our waiter was excellent; attentive, efficient and very personable. We had a special set menu which gave four choices for each of three courses. The food was excellent; well cooked, well presented and extremely tasty. There was also an interestingly curated wine list including a number of local wines.

The food could not be faulted and the staff were friendly, accommodating and overall excellent.

A fairly quiet afternoon in Seventeen which I can’t believe is typical because this was a very good meal.

We went for Afternoon Tea, after seeing an advert for an Alice In Wonderland Afternoon Tea.

Dinner this evening was excellect from start to finish. The staff were very attentive and friendly. Mustafa was professional and made me feel welcome. I will definitely be returning

Booked in for the sic-course taster menu, but were told this was not possible as we hadn't pre-paid. However, we were not instructed to pre-pay at time of booking. This was disappointing as we had booked for our first wedding anniversary.

Had a very good experience for a romantic dinner and the food was excellent and refined, but portions just a little bit small. Nice ambiance too.

We came for a friend's party on the weekend

We had our Christmas night out meal here and were not disappointed. The service was excellent and we were well looked after from arriving to the last coffee. The menu is compact but tasty. The table was probably a bit small but the group enjoyed all the courses. The scallops were excellent and the od dish as well. Not cheap, but worth the price.

I visited the restaurant today for Christmas lunch with a friend. After a slight hiccup with regards to the menu, which was sorted out quickly we had a very enjoyable lunch. The staff were very accommodating and the food was tasty. I had the turkey which was excellent. A pleasant few hours.

So disappointing! Empty restaurant, no atmosphere, undercooked fish and inedible pate. The steak was good although medium rare was very rare. The superfood salad was overrun with feta. Nice but overpowering. Such a shame as had high hopes for a good experience!

I had passed this restaurant a few times when a lovely waiter was standing outside offering passersby titbits from his tray. They were truly delicious and his polite and welcoming smile and comments made me consider this for as a venue for meeting up with a friend for supper doing the week. I looked on the website and saw that Steak Night on a Wednesday offered a really good value at £12.50 for Steak, Chunky Chip and a glass of wine. This seemed perfect for our purpose and indeed it was. As we were the first to arrive at the restaurant we were given a choice of sitting where we liked and chose to sit in the window. The decor is lovely with chandeliers and really nice feel to the area. We had good service and the steaks were generous and cooked to perfection. The wine complemented the meal. I indulged in a pudding of fig with raspberry sorbet and sugar work. All was presented well and considering the service, ambience and quality food was really good value for money. Have recommended it several times to my friends and colleagues.

We visited the Seventeen restaurant on Friday for the first time and were pleasantly surprised. Friday's tasting menu was just amazing and great value for money. Food is great and the hazelnut mousse cake is to die for. Service was very attentive and professional. We will definitely be returning soon.

Service was good and food was good but don’t have the scallops starter. £10.50 and u get 3 very small scallops so very very poor value for money. In fact the smallest portion I have ever come across. 2 mouthfuls and all gone ! We had the Steak for main which was good but I asked for medium rare and it was served up medium which was very disappointing indeed. I didn’t kick up a fuss as it would have ruined my birthday lunch with my wife but I cannot see myself and wife going back based on this experience. Staff are always polite but your Chef needs to lift his game as surely you can do better than this ?

Had an amazing dinner here, scallops cooked to perfection and the chocolate ganache dessert was to die for!
