Lovely food excellent service, and every welcoming and lovely staff.good quality food and excellent pricing. Made special by fitting us in last minute.

Saturday night, 19th November and we were back staying in the Travelodge across the road from here. So we thought it was an ideal opportunity to revisit here as we did enjoy our last time here. Not very adventurous, tonight, with our choices, we ordered a beef curry with rice and chicken chow mein and 2 bottles of Tsingtao beer. While we waited for our food, we were given some prawn crackers and sweet chilli dip to nibble on. Our food was nicely presented in rather generous portions and tasted good, certainly did not disappoint us. Tasty quality food, reasonably priced with pleasant friendly service, what is not to like. Most of the decorations, which are bright red, which symbolises luck, joy and happiness, were still interesting to us. When paying our bill, we were given Chinese fortune cookies.

Ordered a beef chow-main with extra mushrooms was oily and no taste whats so ever. Go there only if you have Covid with no taste

Wednesday 10th August we were spending the evening in the Travelodge in Tolworth and we visited this restaurant, for dinner, which was literally across the road. We were shown to our table, where the menus were already in place. While reading the menu and choosing our food, we ordered two small bottles of Tsingtao beer which were £3.50 each. Once we decided we ordered a chicken chow mein £7.50 and a Kung Po chicken £7.50 and plain rice £3.20. As we waited for a meals it was an opportunity to look around and the rather colourful decor. It consisted of Chinese art, lanterns and symbols, fairy lights and more which helped to create a very pleasant atmosphere. When served our food was nicely presented and was very tasty and we did enjoy our meals very much, in fact we ate the lot. The chow mein was one of the nicest in a long time. After our meal we ordered two more beers, just sat back relaxed and enjoyed. Our waiter was attentive and friendly, he told us that today was his first day working here, he did very well. It was time to pay our bill which was £32.20, which was reasonable considering the quality of the food, portion sizes and service and included four beers. It is very popular for takeaways, when we were here a number of people came in to collect their orders, the phone did ring, rather a lot, with people placing orders.

Me and my partner have tried every Chinese takeaway in the delivering area of surbiton/tolworth/surroundings. This is by far the best one, they do dim sum aswell which is delicious and is really great in value. I would make recommendations for specific dishes but all i've had is fantastic, the portions are good sized and nothing is ever dry or lacking. Not only this but the staff are so helpful, always going above and beyond, when I ordered from them 10 days ago or so my computer seemed to mess up my order and they were so quick and polite to sort it out after calling. They do collection and delivery on their website so I can avoid food apps and the driver is really lovely aswell, all round excellence. I can assure you i'll never use another chinese now! Soggy, oven chips for £5.20. Dumplings were okay but quite bland, 6 for £8.30 really is overpriced. Waste of money.

We were staying in travel lodge over night with family after an exhausting day at chesington world of adventures. The staff were lovely and accommodating and very good with young children. The food was delicious! If we ever go back to the area we will most definitely return. It’s a shame you can’t take restaurants with you it was so nice. It was also reasonably priced and large portions.

This container is apparently large in size and cost you 8.40£ this is fraud!!! If you advertised large size it must be large size but this is clearly not large you are fooling people

In my order of vegetable Singapore vermicelli noodles with vegetables and no egg, and thus no meat, because this is a vegetable dish, right? So in my order of vegetable Singapore vermicelli noodles were two pieces of random unidentified meat. Possibly a bit of chicken and a bit of pork. Not much. Only a couple centimetre strips. Not really the point though is it? How small they were, I mean. The point is there was meat in my vegetable dish. For a vegetarian. Meat. Yep. Really. Enjoy at your own risk, Trip Advisor vegetable lovers.

Everything about this place is quality, especially the food. Yet the prices are very low. We have had two great evenings in this restaurant this month, and will certainly be back.

We make a fortnightly visit as we can depend on the quality of service. Excellent place to visit with your friends for the weekend Lunch. A rich variety to choose from, and fresh shrips and Kalamaris never fail to delight.

Food is ok here, prices fair. The issue I have is that after ordering there regularly since 2010, today I fancied a table spoon of chilli oil on the side. He said I must buy a full tub for £1.50. I explained I literally want a tablespoon or even a tea spoon. He said still costs £1.50. I was shocked and despite being regular customer they could not assist. Every other local family restaurant I know would have been warmer to there regular customers and helped rather than stick to stiff rules. No business acumen here, as a simple 20p bit of chilli oil, which I would have been happy to pay 20p for if they could not throw in, has cost them a regular customer.

Ordered a takeaway tonight. Usual Chinese was on holiday. OMG the food was outstanding. Compliments to the chef... Our heads 'have been turned'. We'll be back, thank you for such a lovely service.The salt & pepper ribs were beautiful 👍👍

I have been using the Seven Stars for a number of years now - the food and service has been consistently excellent. Lots of fresh vegetables in the dishes we have (I'm a vegetarian) and prepared very quickly (We usually have take-away). Happy to recommend.

Went there with a couple of friends whilst we visited the area. The service was good, and the food was excellent their portions are very good and the prices are more than reasonable I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a, solid, meal at a pretty decent price point

I always order from this place and I am never disappointed. On one occasion they had forgotten a part of my delivery and so they added some extra items of which I had ordered as the payment had already been taken! Their food is brilliant and I am very pleased to be ordering from them.

visited again but sadly not very good we were only ones there, starters (usually the best part) were only warm & tasteless, chicken soup usually great was poor, owner always pleasant, no atmosphere in the place & cold we asked if heating on were told yes but radiators on so low so we got chilled ended going to cafe for lovely hot coffee to warm up, we are going to look for somewhere else

We visit this place over an over again, as their food is very tasty and the staff is very friendly too, not only that prices are very reasonable as well. I would recommend Seven Stars to anyone who wants to enjoy an authentic Chinese meal to go there. Keep up the good work!.Chandra

Just had a take away. We ordered a chicken dish which had to be thrown away. It did not look or taste like chicken. One of my sons nearly vomited! We also ordered chicken and egg fried rice and both managed to be slimy and tasteless. It’s ruined my Saturday night as I now feel sick!

We stayed at the Travelodge over the road and came here for dinner. The staff were very friendly and service very prompt. My daughter wanted noodles with no beansprouts and onion and they catered for this no problem. I thought it was very reasonably priced also. Would come back.

Ordered a Special Fried Rice Dish, takeaway, was quick and warm. Downside is bit expensive, as usual with oriental food.

got my girlfriend a chinese from here it consisted of honey spare ribs chicken satay and fried rice to say she was underwhelmed is an understatement the ribs tasted of nothing despite the random bits of onion floating around in a slimy tasteless goo the satay tasted dry and the rice i didn't realise it was possible for fried rice to be sloppy and slimy but they managed to achieve that

The restaurant was empty on arrival but as it came recommended by one of the class I was training decided to stay. The single waiter was very polite and reassuring "it is Monday we are always quiet". Prawn crackers and dip provided complementary while menu was perused. Ordered a beer and then 3 courses for £18.99.

First off very good service. Food was average at best, have had lots better. Not cheap either, some dishes were tad salty. Not much in way of atmosphere

Oh noooo.. We visited for the buffet but were dismayed to find it had gone. Thursday only so we were told. Only 3 other people visited in the time we were there. Normally this place would be half full. We were given a lunch menu to choose one option from each of the 4 sections. Choice was acceptable. Each person's choices arrived on one plate giving no option to share. Chicken was fatty in one dish, (if that what it was). Curry was tasteless and not up to the restraunts usual standards. as a whole the visit was a complete let down. I feel sorry for the local pensioners who have lost another local haunt.

I visited this place today Sunday 15th Oct 2017 around 1.30pm - 2.30pm (management just so you know who was working as they you may want to pick this up with them) and I was greeted by an individual who didn't even acknowledge our presence.

Потрясающее место! Повара готовят еду великолепно и разумеется в китайском стиле. Это касается и соусов и подачи блюд. Креветки и морские гребешки были просто пальчики оближешь! Еще мы заказывали свинину в традиционном кисло-сладком соусе...объедение. Обслуживание быстрое и ненавязчивое. Еще очень рекомендую розовое вино-исключительно к морепродуктам. As a group of 9 of us went to the restaurant late on a Saturday evening, we were accomodated with ease and no fuss at all! Staff very friendly. We all had several drinks each, starters each, mains each and several extras to share and the bill only came to £150 for 9 of us! Absolute bargain. The food was excellent quality and we will definitely be back again.

Ate here last week. The service and atmosphere were fine if unremarkable. We ordered a set menu for 2, which cost over £17 per head. The food was really bad. Everything tasted of old, dirty cooking oil and not much else. Some things tasted like they'd been reheated, others cheap, ready-made out of jars and all tasted terrible. The raw cucumber and onion slices for the duck pancakes were limp, and dry, clearly not freshly prepared. Very poor value, and I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.

Una joya preciosa de lugar. No tenían lo que queríamos en el menú, pero cuando nos explicaron el plato nos gustaría, no hubo problema. Precios excelente, maravillosa comida, personal amable.

Tuvimos una comida fabulosa en sábado. Las hors d'oeuvres era increíble, con una gran selección, el pato también fue muy impresionante. Mucho espacio entre los campos que era necesario debido a las grandes porciones de comida. La calidad de la comida, el tamaño de la porción y la relación calidad-precio supera con creces en la zona. Gracias por una velada encantadora :)

La comida es fantástica, no podrá encontrar ninguna buena cocina china como esta incluso en Kingston.

The standard of this restaurant has dropped dramatically over the last year or so. Waiting staff are rude with no nice welcome or please and thank you. As for the food you wait forever even when the restaurant is empty. There is no authenticity put in to the food and the prices are expensive for the area.I cannot recommend this restaurant. RJT

went for birthday celebration with my father in his 80's he not had Chinese for years very enjoyable the owner (?) & waiter very good, helpful & friendly looked after my father well. Food very good quality & decent size portions. We will be going again

Kids love it, buffet visits are expected. 4-5 starters available, mains 4-5 selection and then lovely banana fritters. Value for money and definitely return tiime and time again.

Food was very good. Service was fine. Overall good value for money. More authentic than other Chinese restaurants in the area.

If they get your take away order wrong do not expect them to resolve it to your satisfaction. They think it is ok for you to eat your food cold whilst you wait for them to correct the order. I used to go every week but now I realise they are not interested in giving good service they are only interested in taking your money. I won't be going back!

We started going to this restaurant when our favourite place, Kum Hong, closed down. So I would rate it as the next best chinese place in the local area. Staff are very sweet, although I always found them to be very slow when making cocktails. The food is really good, and for once, there is a decent amount of space between tables, as I always hate being squeezed in like sardines.

After having several horror stories years ago regarding Chinese food, ventured unwillingly into the Seven Stars with husband. Great that they serve cocktails, which I enjoyed and the food was amazing. Well cooked and extremely tasty, a very enjoyable experience. This was on a Saturday evening and surprisingly not very busy, although I understand that their buffet is very popular. Would definitely return for another, and another, and another.

We visited this resturant before and it was really good. Not wanting to be too quick to give a good review we decided to leave it a few weeks ago go back on a different night!.Its consistently good, the staff are very friendly and attentive. The ambiance in the resturant is just right, not to bright, not to dark. Music isn't over powering.The food ! - The food is very tasty and it arrives very quickly. No lenghtly waits.When the main food is ready you're asked if you want it, or wish to wait a bit, theres no rush to the meal.Overall its a very nice experiance.Its a bit more in cost than the average resturant but they earn it with the quality of the food and the service they provide.

We went here with friends and family. It is not the regular kind of buffet. They give you a menu and you can choose any five things from it for starters. Then you can all tuck in. The second course is the crispy duck or crispy lamb and pancakes. We went for the lamb with all the accoutrements, and it was delicious.The waiters were very friendly and helpful. There was a good wine menu but we stuck to Cocktails all night. In fact as we were celebrating our 50th Wedding Anniversary they gave us two Cocktails 'on the house'.Lastly you get to choose your main meals and rice or noodles. Again a good selection and all tasting superb. The servings were enormous so there was a lot left over. Rather than waste it, they re-packaged it all again for us to take home.If you fancy a Chinese food at any time, then make your way to the Seven Stars.

Just visited this restaurant for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Took a set menu that we were able to pick what dishes we wanted. Choice was great as was the service and we couldn't complain about the food we had. It was plentiful and the portion sizes were excellent. Certainly will be back

I've lived in Surbiton for 5 years and tried a few chinese restaurants in the time and the taste of the food beats all other restaurants hands down. Though this isn't the best restaurant for fine dining, needs to update its decor, nevertheless the food is great and is good value for money. Crispy seaweed is fantastic and so is the duck and isn't bland like a lot of the popular ones

Arrived with work colleagues for the buffet lunch menu. Very disappointed, there was no meat left in the sauces and the food was cold. The noodles were dripping in oil and I could taste the msg overload. After one mouthful of food I declined to eat any more,but was still charged for the so called buffet menu. We had to keep our coats on as the place was so cold and even the staff were rubbing their hands together, to keep warm. 7 stars, I wouldn't even give it 1. Kathy

My son and I have visited this restaurant about six times over the last few months. We come back because we rate the quality of the food very high. We always enjoy the crispy duck which is always very tasty and perfectly cooked, and a variety of chicken, beef and pork dishes, but have not tried the sea food. The portions are generous in size. Service is quick and friendly. The restaurant is decorated with some beautiful authentic Chinese paintings. I was surprised to see a review suggesting that food poisoning had occurred: it is often not certain where the cause of an attack of enteritis originated. The toilets here are of a higher than usual standard and general cleanliness is very good. There is parking in the Broadway right outside the restaurant..

Last night I had meat dumplings, crispy bean curd in salt & chilli, chicken in lettuce leaf and rice. Afterwards I was up all night with the worst case stomach upset I have had for years.

Surprised by some of the negative reviews on here. I ordered a delivery/take out from here and it was delicious! The menu was very extensive with a great choice especially for seafood and prawn dishes (which suits me perfectly). You can even customise dishes to suit your tastes. The delivery was prompt and delivery driver was very friendly. The good arrived warm and was delicious and a lot of it! They may not be the cheapest but they are one of the best in the area!

We arrived ordered starters and we were very disappointed and could not even eat the prawns as they were to salty, the sweet chili sauce was old and not good at all it is a shame as they seemed so nice The wine was excellent and we finished the bottle to help us finish the the 3 starters, and we left. I hate leaving a bad review but it is really not a place to impress your other half We left before ordering the mains

Surprised by some of the negative reviews, although I have been told by my students that the food is better and more freshly cooked if one goes in a larger group.I have been twice now with about 20 students from my Tai Chi class and everyone thought the place to be of great value and providing good food. The staff were charming

Huge menu and range of ingredients, even by Chinese standards, which worried me a little, especially since it was very quiet. The food was poor, with the kids struggling to find anything they actually enjoyed. Service was fine, staff attentive. Overall no repeat visit.

We came to this restaurant on one Sunday the staff were so rude, the food in the "Sunday Buffet" looked old and not appetising; we paid for our drinks and left. Avoid for the staff & possibly the food!

Prices are so expensive here which signified to me the quality may be higher than the norm..couldn't have been more wrong! Worst Chinese i've ever eaten, and I've had a fair few bad ones! The lamb was just skin basically, spring rolls soggy and tasteless and chicken not as good as birds eye frozen range..hate to be this harsh, but don't want other people to make the same mistake as me!

Vegetables, rice, noodles all pretty good; however, meat dishes were not great; - chicken hot garlic sauce - too sweet and didn't have the texture of real chicken- shredded smoked chicken - more like small, deep-fried chicken drummers (not like I've ever had before, or hope to have again soon.)- shredded beef in a basket - sweet and no basket.- prawn toast and ribs were OK.£55'ish for my family of 4 with a couple of drinks. Expensive for the quality.I suggest you wait for this restaurant to establish a creditable number of reviews before giving it a go.
