Seven Stars in St. Helens

Visited today for the new menu launch, food was lovely and served quickly. A lot more variety on the menu which is good.

Had a great afternoon watching the Liverpool game with a sunday dinner. Will return again in the near future and look forward to coming with the family.

Went for the afternoon bingo and really enjoyed myself. Will be attending the next one.

Come for the bingo afternoon which was fantastic. Will be at the next one, thank you for a great afternoon. ALl my friends were happy with the entertainment and the host was funny.

We visit this pub around once a month now as it isn’t too far away from us. Can genuinely say that in the years we’ve been visiting that every meal has been superb and outstanding value especially with the offers they do. Judith especially is always super welcoming and a credit to the pub, as are the rest of the staff. Lots of people we know have taken our advice and have been impressed, some make a much longer journey than we do which says it all. Part of the Greene King chain so good wholesome pub food, done superbly and consistently high standard. We shall be continuing to visit whenever we fancy a pub meal.

Made a large reservation last minute and the site was very happy to accommodate our family. Appreciate they were busy and still managed to get us in. My family throughly enjoyed all the food. Steaks so well cooked and for the price what’s not to love. Children’s menu great also. The team was super friendly and nothing was too much bother super happy with our experience will definitely hold our future meals at the seven stars.

Got the chicken strips 5 chips about 10 with a bit of of cheese on top there were 7 of us and no one was to happy about their meals

Nit very well good welcome, ordered two drinks and had change thrown at me! Ordered two meals and one very cold; second steak was unwatchable, lady said do you want me to change that because I could not cut it! Gladly said please and exchanged, lady said we can't cook steak unless you cut in to it! Second steak was terrible but said if you have issues just keep on telling us? Sorry I wanted a meal not issues! Don't blame the cook, very bad customer service! Sorry I forgot to say about the first meal we ordered they had sold out, and we needed to pay an extra 80p That's more then three complaints within 90 minutes... If you think about eating look into something called bottle and glass! Nice service lovely foodn

Lovely pub, friendly staff, great food!

Came here after not coming for a few months to watch the football. What a terrible mistake, given two Prosecco glasses with lipstick all over them so had to return which is fair enough sometimes they’re missed however when I went to the women’s toilets only 1 of 4 was even usable. 2 others didn’t even have locks on the doors, and the third had no toilet paper. The one that was lockable and therefore usable had a floor your shoes stuck to, and a dirty toilet seat. When washing my hands, the soap dispenser fell off into my hands, so it just continued to get worse. My partner went to the men’s toilet and found 2 sinks blocked with toilet paper and clear small bags that had clearly had drugs in. What a fall from grace for this place. Extremely disappointing.

I ordered the lasagna and I thourghly enjoyed it. The side dish of fries I found soft and succulent Vicky was heart warming and brilliant

Me and my partner ordered a mixed grill he had medium rare steak I had well done steak I had fries with my meal partner had chunky chips our meal arrived was asked to change are own steaks over as on wrong plate then started to eat our meals both warm not hot wouldn’t eat here again .

Had mac n cheese with chicken and cheesey garlic bread washed down with a pint of Neckoil. Couldn't fault it. Pleasant staff makes for a good experience

Visited here for large booking for family birthday meal. Considering the size of the party the food didnt take too long too arrive. Hot and fresh food always, it was delicious starters and mains ordered. We always like to visit here and great to get the family all in one place. Great value for money on food and drink. Definitely recommend a visit to the Seven Stars whether just a quick pint and friendly face behind the bar or for a nice meal with family or friends

I went on a weekday afternoon so there were very few people in the Inn, however it is a very nice place with a good menu and the service and food were excellent. I shall certainly be returning for more.

Water of time trying to book they never answer there phone I've tried for days

Had a table booked for 17:45, arrived 5 minutes prior to see every table was taken. When telling staff we had a table booked, we were informed someone was sat on our table and they had just ordered food. What’s the point in having a booking system in place then? We were offered an alternative booth which seats 4 covers. Extremely poor management and we will not be returning.

Poor customer service. Drove 40 minutes for a family meal for 6. Booked before hand. Had our table reserved for 5:45. We arrived at 5:30 and walked round the tables and all tables where full or reserved (not with our name on) so waited at the bar for 10 min before finally asking the bar staff could they tell us where our table was. Bear in mind we had a 5 year old with us and he was getting restless as everywhere we stood we were in someone’s way. A member of staff then came over and seen to another group that was waiting to be seated (who actually arrived after us) she then came back and said she would find out where we are seated and came back and said someone is at our table and she will move them now. She then came back and said they had ordered food? How was a table that is clearly reserved allowed to order food? We was then offered a small booth table that would clearly only seat 4 people comfortably. By that time all the party had decided not to eat at the seven stars and we left very disappointed. My grandson was actually crying as he wanted food and to play on his favourite grabber machine. Poor service we have now wasted 1 hour and 20 min travelling to and from a pub that we love and dine in regular. I won’t be returning it’s completely upset me.

Came for the first time with family, we order our food, the pub seem quite, but had a long wait for our food 50 minutes, had to go to the bar to ask how long, the steak and fish was over cooked but edible, went to order our sweets and all ice cream was sold out, all the food was average

Truly awful Greene King. Not only have they cancelled our booking for Christmas Day due to a systems failure they did not make any effort to let us know, couldn’t use a phone to apologise and let me know. Found out late last week! Not only crappy response regarding this I am still trying to get my refund. Up to now I have rang 12 times and no one answers. The woman who emailed to “apologise”suggested we go there for refund or ring for one!!!! Greene king you have ruined Christmas and have really poor customer service! Really poor!

First time eating here we didn’t book but the manager was more than welcoming to us and sorted us a table straight away. We both ordered burgers and wow they were amazing, presented well and hot. Overall service was 10/10 and food was 12/10 thanks again we will be back

Beware!!! Non gluten menu is not gluten free!! We contacted restaurant and spoke to the chef who confirmed for the non gluten menu its is not gluten free as the food is definitely cross contaminated and there are no precautions in place. If you have celiac disease or a allergies, please be careful. Most restaurants with non gluten or gluten free menus understand the risks involved and are most restaurants take precautions. However the chef here stated and food is cooked together and he will not prepare/cook food separately for allergies and there are no precautions in place. Referring to the reply below. No fryers were not requested to be changed as the meal that we was enquiring for was the non gluten chicken meal which comes with jacket potato, understandably fryers are not used for this meal and fryers are not gluten free so this was never requested for them to be changed i would never request for fryers to be changed. It was asked is the meal prepared separately and we was informed no because the chicken was cooked with gluten containg food in the ovens , we asked could it not be cooked separately and we was informed no. I did infact visit your pub on 26/11/2023 at 1pm as it was a family event I choose not to eat to avoid being ill. Your reply is completely incorrect information.

I came for lunch with my daughter and her 6 week old baby Soon as food was served the baby started to cry as she was hungry Jude who was on duty came to the rescue Bless her Took my daughters food away to keep warm When we thought the baby had finished my daughters hot food came out However the baby wanted more milk So Jude took the baby and fed her with what was left in the bottle and burped her to What a Star...... Thank you for going the extra mile We will definitely be visiting this pub again

Called in with my sister for our tea .we both ordered mixed grills and 2 portions of pepper sauce ,the sauce was for me ,I put it all over my meat and proceeded to eat ,it had a horrible taste to it like it was sour ,when the waitress came over I told her it tasted sour and she said she would go and mention it to the chef ,then she came out and walked straight passed us ,with no explanation ,I was very upset as its normally very good the food and the service

Fantastic pub. Have been several times recently and each time I’ve had a great experience. Food is very reasonably priced. The beer always tastes great and you can tell they keep on top of the lines. The staff are really friendly and always take the time to say hello to my family and me. Great pub to watch the game in (which I have also done several times) and loads of live local music on a weekend that never disappoints. Highly recommended.

Only gets a 3 because it's needs renovating, a full rip out. The staff and the food were nice and we enjoyed our dinner, the state of pub let's it down as it's falling to bits.

Came over from Dublin for the weekend to celebrate my sister and brother in law 60th wedding anniversary. Their only a few months living in Eccleston and this is their new local. We've been twice,4 of us on Friday, and 9 of us Saturday, both nights were fantastic. Food menu is lovely and price point is great. Staff are friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back. Thanks everyone.

Hubby and i went today and had the chicken share platter x corn on the cob. It was cold, so I asked staff to warm it up, and we didn't receive a replacement when staff came to take dishes away. i reminded him we hadn't received our full meal he apologised but didn't, and that was it no alternative or recompense also food was quite dry x

Dan and the team always give you a warm welcome, the food is great and there are always plenty of food and drink deals available. Venue is dog friendly as well. Every Thursday at 8:30pm is smartphone quiz night, the quiz is £1 per person to play, and lots of fun 📲😄😀😁

We visit around 1/2 times a month and have always have great food and excellent service. Its generally cheaper to eat here than cook, so for anybody that complains you need a reality check.

Staff were very helpful, meals were great, it was very busy when we arrived and was told meals would be a wait. But the atmosphere was so relaxing, time soon passed. Seven stars has always been great for a nice meal and great beers / drinks. One of the best Flamin grill pubs in St Helens

used to love going hear for a meal wont be no more never have what we want on the menu its happened more than once now we just get told no deliverys today shocking from a big food chain green king/hungry horse needs sorting out had to leave in the end and go another pub across town same food company who had everything so no doubt they had there food delivered dont get that to be honest.

Popped in for lunch and it was lovely, nicely conditioned IPA. Food was tasty and hot. Had a chat with the manager there who was keen and was happy to have a chit chat. The standards show in this lovely community pub. Well worth a visit.
