Visited here couple times, the chicken is halal and staff are lovely. Authentic food, will say I probs won’t visit again as food the previous times did deffo taste as if it was leftovers reheated.. we didn’t end up eating. Staff are lovely and we did go during midweek, during our weekend visit it was fresh.

Seasoned chicken is delicious! The seasoning tastes similar to the taste of old Korean chicken!! And even my foreign friends who can't eat spicy food enjoyed it!!

10/10 food and customer service. Everything was served fresh and quickly. The flavours were insane! Best dduk bok ki and kimchi pancakes I’ve ever had!! Visiting from Manchester and next time we’re in Bristol, we’re coming back!

We had a delightful experience at Seoul GaJa. The staff were incredibly friendly, adding a warm touch to an already amazing dining experience. Their hospitality truly made the meal memorable. Highly recommended

hello seoul and gaja! i had quite the experience here. i could bring my own wine (which was fantastic as i hoped to get my wife very drunk), and the staff helped me kindly by supplying glasses. (little do they know it wasn’t just wine i brought - haha) my food was exquisite, though i was disappointed by the price of kimchi - FOUR BLOOMING POUNDS! now i would hope that as a korean establishment there is an endless supply of kimchi, so was outraged at this discovery, though indulged anyway. noodles were great, distinct taste of wok. i also have a cat called noodle - what a coincidence! though i’m relieved to inform you my cat was not on my plate, but a lovely plate of bouncy bountiful noodles. fantastic. see you later soul x

Amazing food and amazing staff. I met some friends in Bristol and we craved some hearty Asian food, I rarely an disappointed at Korean restaurants. This place also looked like it was family run, making our experience that bit more special. Service was slow, but that was fine by us as we were not on a rush. The food is fairly priced too. I must admit the 'cash only/ bank transfer' arrangement does make me speculate the honesty of earnings, though. We should all pay our way when it comes to tax!

It’s my first time to give one star. My first time to try this restaurant but the waiting time for food was unusual long. Seems they need to prioritise the take away orders first. Overall, the food was not worth of money. The powder for fried chicken was too thick but luckily, the sauce was still ok. It’s not the typical Korean restaurant. They will not serve you any appetizers like Kimchi, beans sprouts. Besides, they only accepted cash payment without official receipt(just wrote the amount on the paper). Not sure that it violated the law in U.K. since I was a tourist. We ordered four dishes and paid £66 for 2 persons. The portion of food was less than normal especially the meat. Not recommended for anyone.

Chicken is halal according to the staff. Beef bibimbap is good. Vegetables are fresh. Kimchi is like home-made. Lovely. Ambiance is like the small stalls in Korea. Pay by cash or bank transfer only.

I can’t comment on atmosphere as we took our food home. Originally ordered via ubereats, but the restaurant missed a couple of items off our order and uber were no help. We called the restaurant directly and they handled it really well - apologised for their mistake and offered us to come and pick up the missing bits. They gave us a couple of freebies and we’re really kind and apologetic. The fried chicken is gorgeous and the staff are amazing!

very tasty food though portions were modest at best. the waiters were slightly absent minded and I had to ask for things twice on a few ocasions, decoration leaves much to desire (wall paper peeling off the walls). We were given an extra empty bowl to share some of our dishes, that way we got to experience both South and North Korean cuisine.

I'm afraid to say on this occasion I was not impressed, while the food was tasty the portion sizes were tiny, for £14 I expected to feel quite satisfied by the portion but it felt like more of a lunch time snack. In addition the wait for food was far far too long. I attended with two friends and the restaurant apologised to us that they were very busy (yet still managed to serve customers who arrived well after us!) They also seemed to be prioritising deliveroo orders at the expense of customers in the actual restaurant... In addition, when we asked for the bill and expected to pay by card they informed us they only accept cash or bank transfer. I've never made a bank transfer to a restaurant before and in this day and age it seems very archaic trying to add a new payee on a mobile banking app. Card terminals are pretty cheap these days and only have a slight fee if you shop around so I would recommend the restaurant purchases one. If the wait times improve, portion sizes increase and a card terminal is purchased it could be a very nice restaurant as the food was good quality.

It was terrible, and the food was very slow. Twenty minutes later, a seafood cake was served, and ten minutes later, a fried chicken was served. The fried chicken was still cold. I told her it was cold, and she said she would microwave it for me. So ridiculous!!!! Not recommended. The rice in Bibimbap is very soft, like water.

A simple cheap Korean eatery. On the shabby end of shabby. The KFC was tres crispy but the sauce lacked the vinegar pang you might expect from this variety. Also not quite a plentiful as you would hope from a 12 quid dish in a cheap restaurant. Still tasty though The mandu dumplings seemed like frozen gyoza rather than the slightly fluffier mandu wrappers you would expect. Nothing to write home about. The kimchi jeon and kimchi jigae were both delicious though, and in spite of what seems like a slightly scathing review I enjoyed the meal and the relaxed bring your own vibes. The staff were also lovely.

Tried their korean fried chicken and korean savory pancakes via delivery service. The fried chicken tasted authentic, probably the most authentic I could find in Bristol, the exact same taste as the ones sold by fried chicken ladies on the streets of Seoul. The pancakes was OK. I guess the pancakes were meant to be eaten fresh, it’s not that good when you order it for takeout/delivery.

Amazing food, very reasonable prices, and great service. We absolutely loved everything we ordered, and the fact that it's a BYO means you can afford to indulge on the food because you aren't paying silly prices for a bottle of wine to go with it. Also liked how simple it is inside - would always rather be wowed by the food than the interior decoration! Can't wait to go again!

Quite a unique experience. No plates, eat straight from the take out containers - wonder if that's a Korean thing? Food was nice, just too salty for me; biggest thing you need to be aware of is that they take don't take card payments... Only cash or back transfer...? Luckily has enough cash on us. They should warn us at the outset.

I've tried most Korean restaurants in Bristol and this one is by far the best. I'm genuinely obsessed with their Budae Jjigae, their sweet chilli chicken and rice cakes! But all the others are just as good! I just wish they also did gimbap! The guy at the welcome desk was really nice, but also the rest of the staff I've been in contact with. Ordered here via Deliveroo over the summer and the food was amazing. Expecting the same quality we ordered again last weekend, 2 x Katsu curry and 1 x dumpling. One of the Katsu dishes was not edible as it was so over cooked, the other was dry and had minimal sauce. The dumplings were hard and chewy. What a disappointment. We were refunded for one of the curries but wish I’d asked for my money back for the entire meal. Not good.

Korean food is one of my favourite cuisines. We don't have proper BBQ Korean place in Bristol which it would be a hit if anyone wants to open! The food were amazing when I went they all super tasty, simple but perfect. If you like spicy food here's the place for you. We ordered A LOT; pork bulgogi, Dukbokki, pancake, spicy fried chicken and some extra kimchi. I like the way good restaurant doesn't need to have extravaganza deco or building but just really good food. Fantastic authentic Korean food. I was taken here by my Korean friend 혀리 (Hye-ree) and was given a taste of what it is like to dine in Korea. Not only was the main meal superb (I had Beef Yukagejang Hot Pot), but it was great to share the complimentary side dishes, including Kimchi, as well as the larger ones we purchased ourselves. In the end it was very affordable. Our group of six was full up and our bill came to less than £14.00 each. Valentine’s Day from hell!!! Me and my boyfriend booked to go here for Valentine’s Day. I had a reminder email on the day that we had our booking for 7:30. We drive over an hour to Bristol especially and what do we find…. The lights are off and no one’s ‘home’. We are absolutely appalled we had no communication saying they were closed, no sign on the door explaining why they weren’t open, nothing! There were 4 other couples also stood outside looking bewildered and extremely disappointed. There was no answer from the phone number on the email so we were stuck trying to find a walk in on one of the busiest days of the year for restaurants! I messaged them on Instagram, they did not reply till the next day and they said they had let customers know they were having electrical issues which is a lie because we had no such correspondence and I checked junk folder and everything. Also there were multiple other people who hadn’t been informed either so clearly they had not told people. When I tried to explain that on Instagram, they read and ignore the message and that was 5 days ago. Clearly they don’t care about customer satisfaction and don’t seem to grasp how unprofessional it is to turn up to a restaurant that as far as you are aware should be open, with Google backing that up when you look online, only to turn up to a dead restaurant. We travelled in especially and they just didn’t care. I advise you ‘scope’ out the restaurant the day before to check it is actually open.

Oh boy, where do I even begin with The Boardroom? If you’re looking for a masterclass in how not to run a bar, this place has you covered. Stopped by with some friends, and one of them ordered two pints of what was supposed to be regular Coke. What we got instead was some fizzy water trash! When we pointed out that the drinks tasted off, the staff looked at us like we’d just asked them to solve a Rubik’s Cube blindfolded. Their brilliant solution? Charge us £8 for two tiny bottles of Coke. Absolute joke of a service. Thinking I could salvage the evening, I decided to try my luck with the game machine. Popped in £2, and…absolutely nothing happened. When I asked for a refund, the staff shrugged and said there was nothing they could do. Meanwhile, the machine kept flashing away, beckoning other unsuspecting patrons to donate to its black hole fund. Until this place figures out how to hire staff who care, I’ll be taking my business elsewhere and advising my friends to do the same.
