I made a visit to this diner( highly referred from a work colleague)by 9pm,the owner gentleman was polite and told " No " when requested to dine in.Personally he only prefers to offer dine in experience to customers before 9pm. So they offered me a seat after placing my order. On taking out the prepared order after less than 10minutes a long wrap of lamb shish with salad and few sauces. I tried a few bites on my way back as it was freshly prepared. But not to my liking as the meat was chewy and felt undercooked. The bread was exceptionally tasty and soft It would just go with anything wrapped. I suggest please don't hurry up with cooking the meat filling when there is only one other customer to be served after me. Also try the spicy sauces at your own risk ,it's Hot when you sit the next day. This review is put up only for sharing my mixed experience and feedback to the wonderful team. Great quick service and delicious food Every time I visit Newport I always head down to Sen Bakery for a catch up with friends with omelettes or boreks, or for a quick filling breakfast before we head to Cardiff for the day The staff are always friendly and the owner is very polite and takes pride in the service they provide There’s plenty of parking in the car park opposite

You can never go wrong with Sen bakery, fresh fresh food I have the breakfast at times and other times have the lamp chops my husband loves their mix grill nothing is not tasty brilliant customer service yasin is a laugh been going for years it’s always busy becasue it’s always good! If you’re in Newport defo visit you will not be disappointed I know friends who come from Bristol just to eat here

Had Chicken and Veg Omelette and was a large portion for price along side chips and salad. Incredibly filling and was overall enjoyable experience.

Took almost 20 minutes for the food to arrive which is unusual for what was ordered. Presentation for the chicken shish on rice was mediocre, salad presented didnt have the option of picking and choosing of what you wanted rather it was mixed, oh and you have to help yourself to drinks by going to the fridge regardless of whether your are halfway through your meal.

Food was good and the service was also very good

Huge fan of Turkish food so was excited to try the lahmacun, ordered two but were big so only really needed one! Eyes bigger than belly scenario 😊. The lahmacun were nice but was surprised to see no lemon with them which is how they are usually traditionally served. Turkish tea was nice and so was the ayran. Friendly family run place, would recommend it.

Best chicken burgers and Turkish tea

I saw the reviews for this place and thought I'd give it a try, and to my disappointment the food was so overpriced. The service was beyond terrible as everything was delayed and the food arrived ice cold! Would not recommend. Save your money and go elsewhere!

Would not be coming again. I was greeted by a disrespectful man who had no professionalism because i wasn’t treated like a customer. Food was cold and i had waited almost 50 mins when promised 15-20 mins. it’s very disappointing

Yasin is the best. His food has never ever disappointed. I have been eating from here for years. Trust him with my eyes closed. Steak burger with fried mushrooms and onion made to perfection 👌 thank you sooo much for serving us!

Extremely rude owner. Me and my friend in to take a look at the menu then we left and the man made Ryde hand gestures and shouted at us for coming to take a look. Said "don't bother coming in if you're not gonna sit down and order "... Appalling customer service.

Loved the Pida and the Boreks were absolutely spectacular! Well worth the money.

Food is well prepared and tasty, there is however limited seating space but that doesn't take from the tastiness of the food (which is the important thing here) Sadly, they don't accept credit/debit cards however as a local business that is understandable and there is an ATM nearby so just withdraw money beforehand. Although not too much because the pricing is very reasonable (sub £10pp on average)

This place was recommended by a friend. I had a mixed shish wrap which is made with sen home made bread. It had lots of salad and I had garlic sauce with it. It was a huge wrap, and very tasty. My partner had lamb on rice with salad and sen bread. It was all delicious and I would recommend a visit here if you are hungry.

Great Turkish food in the heart of Maindee, Newport U.K.

Was in the area for football so popped in for lunch. Offered Turkish tea on arrival but declined and went and sat in the restaurant area. Service was ok but staff member confused had had to ask several times what we wanted. Food cooked fresh and I had chicken wrap which was good. Overall 2 wraps 2 chips and 2 drinks was about £18.

Was recommended by many people. Tried it to night. Ok bank holiday weekend. So very busy, but waited 25min for my food. And my wife's burger was on the grill the hole time on a spatula. Will not go back. Sen bbq every time. Shame because nice people. But bad food.

One of the best Grills in Newport! I'd recommend Pidas (Turkish Pizza) and also Chicken shish kebab and other shish's!

Brilliant little place and the owner is very friendly.

Consists of good quality Turkish cuisine, what makes the restaurant so unique is the pizzas they sell are very different style and closely resemble paninis e.g. pide filled in with minced meat and Borek. One of the best place to get good quality food with a reasonable price.

I have been coming to SEN's for over 5 years and never had a complaint so I feel this may look rather unfair, to be absolutely honest the food has always been outstanding with the prices to match, never ever had a complaint. However on my most recent visit with friends I noticed that the staff couldn't wait to get us out, because they had half an hour to close. Although I checked with the owner if he wanted we could return another night if they where pushed on time, he insisted we should sit down and relax. The orders where all confused and they brought out food we hadn't ordered and didn't bring food that we had ordered. The mix grill was missing, although it had been explained because the charcoal grill had been turned off so they could not cook the lamb chops and chicken wings. Although it seemed that they piled the plate with rice and only a sprinkling of meat, although it didn't compromise the taste, as usual it was spot on. Finally after they got bored of waiting for us to leave, the icing on the cake was when some of the back room staff who where ready to go around 15 minutes earlier started grabbing our plates and cutlery to get us out! Will I be back most probably because on average they are better more than they are bad, but they need to brush up on their customer service, because that use to be their winning formula.

Visited this little gem of a place last week have been told loads of great things about it. They were all true spotlessly clean fantasic food grat service with a smile. Will be going back on a regular basis.

This is a great place to eat, staff are great and the bread is amazing. I always have the cheese garlic bread, which is the size of a medium pizza,and for £2.50 you can't go wrong! Plenty of other options on the menu, and don't forget to try the tea!

I didn't actually eat in the restaurant side of the Sen Patisserie .. but the bakery part of its name is more of my reason for using the shop .. I was a walk in customer looking for what I think , after purchasing , is probably one of the best Turkish pizzas I have had .. I would have no hesitation in recommending the food to anyone .. we go to Turkey every year for our holiday and I don't think I have eaten at any restaurant that I can say is better .. the staff are so down to earth .. friendly but very professional .. it must be the name Sen that sets the standard as he BBQ just a very short walk from the Patisserie , and is my regular for Turkish food ..

I love this place - the staff members are extremely friendly. It's not just a place to go and eat, it's also a "social zone" which is always nice. Food has always been to my liking, mostly recommend the panini, borek or wraps. However some people would also say the omelettes too! nice and clean environment, it may not look like the most aesthetic restaurant but it feels like a Turkish a Restaurant that you would find in Turkey... I like that, give a more natural and homely feeling. Defiantly one to try, been a loyal customer since they opened, wouldn't change a thing

This place is like when you are on Holliday it smells great infact that is why I first went in there and the food taste great you must go just to smell the food
