Select Grill in Kirklees

I have been to this place a few times now, as it’s one of my dad‘s favourite takeaways when we go out together. We’re always happy with the food as it’s fairly fresh, and has a nice taste. Nothing like old oil or dry fries here! This place is 100% halal. I like how this takeaway has a large selection of foods, such as burger meals, donner, steaks, curries and lots of sides. It has recently joined the desert shop right next door! The desert shop has a wide variety of cakes, biscuits, and other lovely bakes. We did try some of the bakes this time. They were fairly tasty, but nothing compared to a real bakery. Overall, the prices are decent, this place does not offer a student discount, but the food served here is very comforting and delicious. I’d be happy to come again :)

I always tend order from here and always get the same chiken kobeda and most times it’s good but then this place has those odd days where it’s bad. There food is never always the same. the new workers don’t even know what day it is. And the clowns that take the orders are very rude like the manger needs to wake up and fire them as looking at the other reviews there’s loads bad ones. the naan I got with the kobeda was hard and cracked to pieces and it’s a good thing I checked it there n then . Then the rude staff that takes the orders says its meant to be like that but as u can see in pics it’s a mess and was soggy n half was burnt. He then was saying speak to a different boss then I convinced that I want another naan to the same guy and he tells the worker to make a small one that’s a wierd shape and dosnt even fit the kobeda. The clown at front got an attitude and needs fix it. I got a kobeda 1 hr ago before this one and that was totally fine. Tbh when ur paying for the food which is inially there wages u shouldn’t have to deal with their attitudes. One time I ordered a chiken kobeda the same guy with the attitude packed me a burnt one like it was all black. The guy is blown as it’s obvious if something is not right yet I’m having looking over the counter and can easily tell it’s not. He’s seems bored n depressed maybe he a new job just saying…

Got the street food here during Ramadan. Have had diarrhea for 7 days straight. Needs investigating for food hygiene

Got chicken wings here, after being hungry all day . All i felt like were some chicken wings.. Came in ordered.. Waited and the food tastes like a**. Honestly how bad can the food be, didn't know it was this bad.. Rock hard chicken and black all around.. Not edible. I asked to dine in on top and he still packed it up 😬. Wow great experience.

Got chicken tikka X 2 it was very dry and it wasn’t fresh. Never go back there again. Not even worth 1 star really terrible ..👎👎👎👎

Ordered biryani (£10) and it was hardly enough for one person. Taste of food is good and quantity is terrible

Bad experience. Once I got a feather in the chicken I ordered. Didn't complaint. Didn't order from them for a while. Recently got a burger which was raw. Went back and got a refund . They charged around £6 for burger and refund was £5 . I didn't bother to ask for the price difference, why fight for a pound. Avoid this place . Zero hygiene. Never going back.

Disgusting dry rice without any sauce or meat for £10 each. Stay away from these con artists In picture supposed to be biryani. Lol

Very clean and tidy, food is tasty at a good price. Quick response and service however that was at a low input time. Did however have flickering lights which can be annoying at times.

Wow amazing food and nice place. Not much of a seating options but over all it’s a good place try their chicken biryani not too expensive and friendly staff and good customer service

Absolutely shocking food. Worst takeaway we have ever eaten from!! Naan are really bad, it was like eating rubber!! Mix donner was disgusting, donner meat was so bad I took it out of my mouth!! Aloo keema full of oil and taste really bad. Lamb curry was the worst I’ve ever had! 3 of us ate from here and all left our food it was that bad. Don’t know how you guys even sell such disgusting food. Sack your chefs and close the shop down please. It’s a shame I have to give you one star as I have no other option!!

Burnt naan chicken hard and dry like it had been previously cooked. Chips cooked in old oil, worse experience from a takeaway. Absolutely disgusting food. Not worth one star, but no option for zero stars. Avoid at All costs. Nearly all of it went in the bin.

I wouldn’t even give them 1 star, I went in and asked for a quite a large order but when the staff asked for the payment he said cash only, I didn’t have enough cash with me and I wanted to pay by debit card. A few minutes earlier some customers came to pick up a phone order and they paid by card when questioned them politely they said go get cash or we won’t serve you.

"Please Be Warned" Sorry but have to give 1 star but ideally not worthy of any star. The picture shows what was found on my plate of food. Human Hair And Plastic, shocking experience and to the embarrassment of the staff, they all agreed but the owner was still not accepting. Infact stated its actually common to find some hair in this dish. Would not recommend EVER and honestly this place should be shut down and investigated by food authorities!!!!!! DISGUSTING

Great pizzas, esp masala fish, tried .any takeaways but this is awesome place for grill foods, definitely go again.

Normally get a chicken tikka wrap from here a while ago. It tasted good, reasonable priced. Not sure what the place is like currently.

Great Pizza if you phone order ,make sure you pick it up straight away as they tend to cook it as soon as you have ordred it

Do not go to this takeaway ive been going for many years but the food has gone down hill the food is not freshly made anymore they use the leftovers from day before if they don't sell them, i had a lamb karahi the other day my wife picked it up as i was at work when i got back she told me the lamb karahi was oily and it did not taste right i saw it, it was dripping with oil i took it back i was very angry i told him what is this ive been buying food from you guys for years he goes this the way the karahi's be oily.i said i don't think so i allways buy food from here and that lamb karahi looks really bad so he took it in the back and made me another one and told be next time just let us know we will take the oil off anyways i got back home and eaten it but it was still oily and the taste was not good and the lamb seekh kebabs did not taste fresh too they were burnt and taste like leftovers from day before. over night i had a stomach pain. I use to recommend select grill to people but not anymore i normaly eat from kebabish I'll stick with them. I'm not a takeaway person because I've been doing bodybuilding for years i try to eat healthy home made food just now and again i have a take out but you need to watch where you eat.😠

Very rude staff and quality of food terrible

Put in an order said it would take 20 mins.. took 40mins and then when I got home the chicken wings were burnt to a crisp on 1 side so the cheek of them, they decided to turn them over so I ‘wouldnt Notice’ The kebab came without salad, Asked for lamb, gave chicken instead. None of the workers had masks on. Pizza was ok. If you’d like a messed up order this is the place for you.

I visited this restaurant today in Huddersfield as I came to visit my daughter from London the curry we bought ( chana dhaal) was absolutely tasteless full of chilli and did not smell nice I will not recommend this restaurant to anyone please try others as there are a few others in the same parade To be honest even one star is not worth it 😭

Friendly and polite service at the counter and tasty food. Recommend the mix grill special and the pizzas which taste a lot nicer than what you pay for.

It was my first time there. I bought a grilled chicken burger and chips for a take away. I didn't like how it tasted. Maybe I will try something else next time.

Hygiene issues. The guy who was making the naan was wiping his nose on his arm. Then he puts the naan on his arm to put into the tandoor. Made me sick looking at it. Avoid

Phoned for a curry etc was told 90 mins ok after 2 hrs rung again yes there cooking it now 3&half hrs later nothing

We got food today from select grill ..we got seekh kebabs they had a long hair in them ...the boss said he wasn't bothered ..which is disgusting 🤮🤮🤮

Grill food nice but I bought some fish masala not really cooked properly was half raw only masalaon one side didn't bother with that although grill food nice hence 3 stars.

Excellent quality of food, reasonable price. New set up is awesome, makes it more easier to choose variety of foods, however the premises of sitting area is not tidy but customer service is excellent.

Ordered a few times from here before and the food has been fine but recently I ordered 9 pizzas and 5 of them were almost burnt! Whoever boxed the pizzas must be blind and needs to take a trip to the opticians!

Been a while since I went here. They now have 4 stars on the door and a cleaner eating area than what was originally there. Prices have risen slightly since the last time I went in. Still the same food and standards of service.

Worst food ever had to throw away was cold chips and pizza said it was a meat feast can't see no meat or any onions chillies tomato argued with gentlemen on counter for refund as wasn't satisfied with appearance was even told freshly made chips were already left in fryer refused refund as argued with me didn't give me my drink offered to re do chips I told him leave it even asked he name he refused to give it run by dodgy unprofessional non English staff who think they can get away with ripping people off and serving rubbish food and not giving me refund. Chips are like cardboard called him back to try to rectify mistake refused will never buy again look at images said he had pizza saved over an hour so admitted having pizza already made and chips I think it was someone who ordered before didn't collect and served to me and he thinks this is acceptable as refused to make me a fresh one as i said I would wait then I asked who is manager name and his refused to disclose any information as he knew I was in the right said it Select Grill that all I needed to know even other customer in the shop looked at the so called pizza didn't have a clue what is was or even said it was no meat feast had to bin it will never buy again from them!!

Good and consistent. The Masala fish is very good. Donner can sometimes be cold. Grilled chicken and rice is good if you're not wanting something too fatty. Quick service and they take card as well.

Never coming back to this place appauld at the food, ordererd a burger and chicken nuggets and chips and ended up having a sour burger and frozen chicken nuggets and chips and told them and they didnt care disgusting food, takes forever to arrive.

Warning everybody not to come here...i ordered a chicken rap and saw a fly landing on my maynosie and the man grabbed a dirty spoon from the sink and scooped it out and when i told them to give my money back they started being very very rude, bad service, bad food, and bad chefs.
