Second Cup is an excellent cafe. They’ve done an amazing job on the interior and it’s definitely warm and welcoming the way a true cafe should be.

They serve a great London Fog tea here, and many other drinks and sandwiches, pastries, cakes, in a nice relaxed atmosphere, yet conveniently located on new street (near to the post office/council house). Great aesthetic inside, very cosy. Excellent customer service. Inside and outside dining sreas available, All ground floor, so very accessible. Totally recommend!

Cakes are made on-site and subsequently lovely. Their coffee is a lot better than the chain store a few doors down.

We had the Veg cheche, lemon cake, toast, apple donut. Everything was fantastic. The service was very helpful. Well definitely spread the word.

I’ve been to Second Cup two times and each time the staff were friendly and respectful but they aren’t attentive and it shows how much they hate their job, also the drinks weren’t very good. The iced latte that i got on my first time trying this place out was TOO sweet(this comes from a person whom always adds extra sugar)it was so sweet that almost gave me headaches while drinking. Today i got a. “Mixed berries smoothie” and it was anything but smoothie lol no taste of berries whatsoever. There were tiny bits of hard stuff in it which i assume were from berries and made it more difficult to drink. (Luckily it was hot and the smoothie was cold enough so i drank some of it for the sake of the hot weather) i don’t recommend overall.

Really nice place and good coffee

I am gluten free myself and went to get a gluten free treat. There were a few options so I went for the gluten free carrot cake. It was absolutely delicious although a bit pricey. Overall besides the price I would highly recommend

The most unbelievably arrogant / rude person I’ve ever met in the service industry. Do not go to this coffee house unless you want to feel your custom is not appreciated.

After all day walking in Birmingham I was looking for a place to sit and relax a bit. It was a coincidence that I appeared close to this cafe and entered. I am so glad I did. the coffee was so delicious and the atmosphere was so relaxing. It was packed but still quiet and enjoyable.

Ideal for working remotely. Delicious hot chocolate. Very homely atmosphere

The WORST coffee I have ever had 😭 tasted burnt and watered down, despite the syrup additions :/ the staff was very tired and cba to speak or help at all. The little seating area with the plugs was very convenient and the atmosphere was good. The cake was old and dry AF, the quiche was served with “salad” which was just… dry leaves. I was happy to find a safe space to charge up my phone, but I wouldn’t return here for pleasure at all

It is a nice coffee place with good seating and has a cozy atmosphere. I've been here few times while in town and it's always a nice experience. Great variety of hot and cold drinks to choose from and many different cakes and quiches to accompany the drinks. The service is good and quick.

You can comfortably sit here for an infinite amount of time. The coffee is excellent.

Second Cup is my favourite place to meet with clients or to catch up with friends.

A quiet place to work with notebooks . I am not alone working . Not over crowded but well visited . Room walls remember home . Good sight .

This was somewhere we came across by chance when looking for somewhere to sit and have a relaxed chat. There was such a variety of drinks it was extremely hard making a choice and as I was not much of an expert on cold coffees, some of the drinks seemed the same but just named differently? Nevertheless, the atmosphere was lovely, good choice of seating and staff were helpful with recommendations. Above all, really good tasting coffee!

Disappointed! Served me a wrong item, loud music although most customers are reading or studying, refused to serve a glass cup 2 hours prior to closing time and gave paper cup instead. Seems that understaffing is an issue.

Well, they take a long time to prepare things. Otherwise it is very good!!

First hot food I'd had in two days on my trip after living off crisps and sandwiches and for that they get 5 stars for a hit panini and a comfy seat.

Great hot hot chocolate and mocha. Gent took a lot of pride in making our drinks. Only thing I’d say is there are currently 5 tables occupied by people on their laptops who don’t seem to be drinking/eating anything from the shop. I think only paying patrons should be taking up the spaces.

Had a terrible “service” from a supervisor. He made me half of cup of coffee instead of full cup, when I asked for more milk, he started to have a go at me. Didn’t want to help, was rude, was arroganr. Woman who worked with him helped me and gave me more milk. Continuously arrogant and too proud to help costumer.

Absolutely disgusted at the poor service here. The two staff who served me today evening (17/01/24) were so rude. There was a black man making the coffee, who was extremely rude, in particular. I didn't hear him call my name so he was grumpy and talking to himself in the background about how he's apparently been calling me and my friend for '3 minutes' FYI, part of your job involves good customer service! They also said they had ran out of normal cups for takeout and gave me a poor quality cup, but were serving other in normal cups. Really put me off going there!

Cool coffee and most delicious in the city

More staff than customers but no table service. Coffee was unpleasant and cup was overfilled creating a messy saucer. Service was very poor with servers being preoccupied with their own conversations. Would not come back or recommend.

Love coming here with friends. They have a wide selection of hot drinks and cakes which I always come for. Staff there are very sweet and always welcome you with a smile. Interior design is unique. It’s a lovely little cafe to enjoy time with your friends without feeling the need to rush like most cafes is town. I had the moccachino for the first time and it was delicious. Portions are huge (barely finished it lol). Definitely give it a try next time in town.

🔊 loud 🔊 but other than that the staff are a hoot, the service speedy and the general customer atmosphere is good! Can be busy, especially during peak hours, and seasonal hours, so if you're like me and have days where you'd rather kill someone than say hello, plan your visits accordingly.

Amazing place very chilled place

It's was such a great experience being served by the Asian supervisor and the Moroccan lady (permitted to refer to them as such). Warm reception and the coffee tested so delicious. Was so happy being served on the nice ceramic cup 🥤.

Decaff expresso was watery and a bit tasteless.

Went here on a day trip to Birmingham Christmas Market. I saw this coffee shop and went in . We were really surprised how quent it was and it was not too expensive . Lovely place just sat there with our hot chocolates relaxed just what we needed Try the cookies and cream hot chocolate😋 and the staff were very pleasant too

Nice coffee shop conveniently located. Bit noisy if you are looking for a spot to listen in to a teams meeting. Quick service, but could have done with a greater selection of cakes. The brownie I had though was really good.

I bought a large cup of Cappuccino in New Street Birmingham and when given the cup I was given it onna take away cup, because they said they run out of normal cup. However all people after me were served on normal cups. Not happy with that type of discrimination.

Great food and service. Good for a quick bite

Coffee was kind of okay but I left most of it as the taste was insipid. Bit like an imitation costa in terms of decor and layout. Name of shop was a bit odd. I half expected to be offered a coffee top up. I thought that may be their selling point but no.

Good place for a nice coffee & cake. The service is friendly & it has a good atmosphere. The salted caramel cheesecake is delicious !

Amazing coffee quality, beats typical chain coffee shop. Especially one across the road.

I ate here for breakfast, the food was absolutely amazing. I had never ate here before and wanted to try somewhere new and when I had seen the building it looked cozy. Inside the building there is multiple places to sit the whole building gave a sense of warmth and comfort it was amazing and so was my food. I’d 100% come here again.

Hello I’m a regular customer at your coffee shop nice Harding working staff good atmosphere not section of cakes not as much as before but good….i would like to ask the manager a question..since when has it been ok to j buy a coffee in your shop …and bring in and consume your own food. I’ve noticed this happening now more and more often…this isn’t right plus your actually losing money from customers not buying your food.

I didn't have food but I enjoyed a big mug of Earl Grey tea whilst I was tucked away at the back in a comfy chair enjoying a bit of quiet time whilst my autistic son was in college for a 2 hour lesson. A nice bit of chill time at the end of a hectic week before collecting him and taking him home. Staff very nice and friendly, everything clean and a lovely atmosphere.

(written by my girlfriend upon her insistence) this is by far the best coffee shop i have ever visited!! im a coffee person and have my share of drinks from a variety of different places but this tops it. my boyfriend and i bought a chai chiller and a strawberry lemonade and let me tell you they did not disappoint. the strawberry chiller was so fresh i could see the farmer picking the fruit from the vine. i’m indian and i loved my drink and so did my boyfriend. we ended up buying a second round of drinks to try more of their menu

This is my favourite coffee place in Birmingham. I come here at least once a week. They are rinsing me with £4 for a small coffee but their chaii latte is unbeatable. Lovely cosy atmosphere.

We sat outside of this cafe on a warm afternoon and watched the world go by whilst drinking a nice cup of coffee. We didn't eat, so we can't rate it. Staff were friendly, and the service was quick and efficient. I'd definitely go back again.

Pleasant seated area with soft lounge seating. Helpful counter staff. Nice selection of baked goods; my cherry and almond frangipane cake was great. Toilet facilities - no toilet roll and a dirty floor - let the experience down .

Enjoyed a shopping break at this place with my daughter. She loved it. Lovely little find. 2 hot chocolates, a sausage roll and a cheese n onion pasty bake, just short of £16 so bit Pricey but I don't mind when the food & drink is nice, the service excellent and atmosphere very relaxed, plus it is Birmingham. Lovely decor, too. They do a wide selection of drinks, sandwiches, pastries, and cakes.. the cheesecake looked delicious, but I resisted temptation.. go me 🙆‍♀️ Will definitely revisit when next in town.

Great reception and kindness. There food is delicious and great with good aromas. I always use them whenever I can but on this occasion, I am rating them for letting my kids use their toilet facilities. On my way to London, my kids needed to use toilet but nowhere around; I just popped in, asked the receptionist and she granted us access. Their environment was neat and well decorated; their toilets were clean and neat. They have delicious dishes displayed all over the shelves. Highly recommended.

Staff are very friendly and helpful, service was quick, and food was delicious! Additionally, the staff member advised me on important dietary information (i.e halal options) before I made my purchase which I really appreciated! I hope this company takes the time to thank their staff and to truly appreciate them for all their hard work :)

I'll have a coffee with oat milk please. That's £3.50 plus an extra 40p for the oatmilk. I see so in that case can you pour the cows milk that was included in the £3.50 (and I have therefore paid for!) down the sink while I watch please? Yes I want to see you measure the cows milk you are charging me for out of the carton and down the sink. Then add my oatmilk that I have just paid extra for to my coffee.

Came here early Saturday morning and was surprised it was open - other similar places were just opening/getting ready. Had a latte which was beautifully presented and tasted great. Staff were friendly and had a good banter between them.

One of the best coffee places in Birmingham with a great menu to choose from. I've personally never had any food but the coffee is fantastic. Sometimes if it's particularly busy you might have to wait, but it's worth it!
