Digby in Birmingham

Very expensive compared to other pubs plus the food amour they give is very less for the price. The good part is customer service is great but the pub is very quiet.

Really enjoyed it here, so much so we are planning to come back for Sunday lunch very soon! Staff seemed friendly, place was clean, food was lovely and reasonably priced.

Two pool tables, cues not in best shapes, toilets need upgrade and more frequent staff attendance. Had beef with potatoes and vegetables, typical taste for gastropub. I visited it on Sunday only.

Worse meal ever. Ordered 2 Sunday roasts. All frozen microwaved food. And not a roast potato in sight. Complained to the barmaid who just said I’ll tell the chef and that was that! The pub was empty on a Sunday afternoon which just sums up how bad it is in there. Such a shame a lovely local pub with massive potential being run into the ground

The new menu is great. Tried the battered fish and chips. It was perfect and the price was great too.

Food was luke warm & burgers seemed to have been previously cooked, both of us had upset stomach next day.

Went to watch the Euro final on Sunday July 14th, There was no bitters apart from John Smiths, which I'm not keen on, when I asked a member of the bar staff if any bitters would be back on during the evening they just shrugged and said no 🤔, also they ran out of Real glasses, so had to drink from plastic ones, I would have thought being it was a special/ busy night they would have catered for such things, Also The Digby was my local for many years, but it's shall we say "gone down" a little,

First time visit since it re-opened. Food that we had was fine and well presented. But very disappointed that the menu choice is now so limited and much more expensive than before. I used to just pop in on whim for a meal if I was passing, but I certainly won't be doing that any longer.

new owners the menu completely different was well presented but i would not spend that sort of money in the Digby. it was not terrible when we visited but the menu was too expensive for what we wanted so we left and won’t be back. not sure who owns it now?

Terrible customer service from both the pub and Stonegate Head Office. I have emailed them numerous times about overgrown hedges and rats on their premises but they do not reply or take any action. The council has been involved due to the rats coming from their site into my garden. I would not recommend it!!

Bad customer service and rats seen running on their premises. I told them about the rats (by their skips and back door) but they didn't care. 02/04/24 update - I've tried calling you but it keeps going to voicemail. I've been emailing Reece and Neil in Stonegate head office about this for over two months now and nothing has happened. I also emailed The Digby email address and your area manager Chris about this on 23rd March 2024 but have had no replies from any of you. I'm a neighbour and my garden backs onto your car park, so I have a good view of your buildings. I have had the council visit me because of the rats coming into my garden from your site, and they have confirmed the entry points. I have 3 children and it is not safe.

Went Christmas day, very disappointed. The vegetarian option was changed only a few days before Christmas. The vegetables were over cooked, the parsnips under cooked and the pastry veg option was awful. The cheese board came with no knife, and the coffee never turned up at all. The rest of my party left their desserts and we left early. Won't be returning next Christmas.

Took my 4 grandchildren aged 6 , 10 & 11 to a pantomime there today , it was so good , great value for money only £5 per child . Great atmosphere we didn't eat there but the meals that came out looked so nice . Will definitely try there when eating out next time.

Ok, been a few times recently and the food is generally ok, so trying to make it a more regular thing to meet friends as it's local. Today we Sat at table 19 as wanted a window seat, but it was soooo sticky, it's an old table but either replace it or sand it down and re wax it as it's horrible ... Then the poor girl who said she was helping out at the bar was struggling, couldn't open a tab, couldn't get a receipt, don't get me wrong she was very nice and polite and was clearly doing her very best but she was asking for help from a lady untangling some fairy lights while I was at the bar who didn't seem to want to know ... We spent about £40+ on drinks and food, no one asked if everything was ok with the food and tbh it all felt like a bit of an inconvenience .....🤷

A good value pub. A little worn in places but has a good atmosphere. Parking is available and the pub and garden area is set back from the main road so surprisingly calm and peaceful considering it’s off the very busy Chester road. Good value and a little basic but in a good way. Nice to see places like this surviving and maintaining some individual character

The bar maid on duty was was exceptional and went out of her way to ensure all the people in our party of 15 were looked after. Made several visits to our tables to see if we were ok for drinks. 5 star!!!

Slow service 😴 was served a gin and tonic in a magners pint glass proper gone down had no wine poor ol misses had to drink half a lager said she would never go there again 👎

I recently visited the Digby I ordered food and drinks from Lauren at the bar she was so helpful and friendly excellent service all round. I would definitely recommend the Digby

Went in Monday afternoon. Not many there but not surprising on a workday. Had all day breakfast and steak and ale pie n chips, with drinks...17 quid. Absolute bargains, 0lace has loads of seating and many tv screens showing sports. Great value, very good service, cannot be faulted

We had our late brothers wake at the digby recently and thanks to Corrina Barrett she helped us out by helping sort out our venue and buffet. Our time there was Very relaxed despite what our family were going through at the time thanks to Corrina and the staff. Highly recommended this great place, thanks again.

Visited with family, service was ok, just ok, food was just ok too I wouldn't personally visit again, staff could be more customer friendly especially on our first visit we didn't feel welcomed I normally add pictures of the food but I just wanted to eat and leave Value for money..... About average, you get what you pay for I guess

Great food, it's my local , I only live a stone throw away from it and had 2 meals now , scampi and the all day brekki , I went over Saturday night and there was a bit of life in there , compared to my 1st visit. I recommend people who eat out should try the Digby???

Nice meal and drink good value for money

I was part of a 17-strong group who chose The Digby for our Xmas meal. It was a good choice. The food was good, menu varied and staff helpful. Courses arrived promptly with no long breaks inbetween. The table was decorated beautifully with extras, Xmas hats, crackers and selfie-props, that added to the festive atmosphere. Thank you Siân, Marcus, Tillie, Marcus, Alan and Kelly for a wonderful night.

Went on Friday food was terrible sent it back it was returned just as bad sent it back again vegetables still cold ask to see manager he said it was a busy time and refused to compensate left the 2 rubbish meals will not go back again terrible don't eat food there

Menu has been updated but tbh the food was under par, onion bhajis were burnt and overall not enjoyable will not be eating here again. Pub atmosphere was also very quiet for a Friday evening

Visited here a few years ago and it was poor.With a new menu and a drink with main meals expected an improvement but again disappointed.Not sure where all the five star reviews come from.Firstly the frier was down so no fish and chips.Then they said they’d got no milk so no coffee which they later changed their mind.I ordered a main meal to get the free drink and there wasn’t much choice in the beers.The guest ales were off so I ordered a pint of Coors and was then charged for it.Why would i order a mains without a free drink?I settled for a pint of Stella but surely they could have let me have the Coors instead of pouring another pint.The food was delivered promptly but the chips were rubbish and generally it was poor standard.Needless to say I won’t be making a return visit.

Just found this place. Nice atmosphere great food, great prices. Lovely Carling. Only thing missing is a good karaoke. Bar staff very friendly. Especially young Shona ( not sure how she spells it ). Will visit again very soon. Gerry.

Was just passing and thought we would pop in for a quick bite. Ordered food and drinks from Lauren at the bar. So helpful, cheerful and efficient. Cutlery and such delivered to the table and food fetched within 8 minutes. Presentation 10 Temp of food 10 Quality 10 Value for money 10 Overall service 11 if possible. Highly recommended. We intend to visit more often. Lauren worked the tables outside where we finished our drinks, she never stopped working and was cheerful to all. Thank you to Lauren and the Digby
