Awful experience, food took over 40 mins to come and we almost walked out. Lipstick marks on coffee cup which partner didn’t notice as he was drinking on the other side, pork and stuffing sandwich had barely any meat in there, and then to top it off the card machine wasn’t working and the server acted like it was our fault the card machine wasn’t working when we tried chip and pin and tapping for contactless. Should have taken off the 10% service charge for the abomination that was today’s lunch.

Nice sandwich and atmosphere, however it is a bit pricey (£9.90 for a sandwich). To find a tip had automatically been added to the bill felt over the top for two people on a weekday lunchtime cafe visit.

Arrived early for a game at STFC so a couple of us popped in this morning. We ordered 2 x coffees and 2 x Bakehouse Banging sausage butties. I was expecting something very special as I got a few pence change from £20!! That’s right, almost £20. The sandwiches were an incredible disappointment. Whilst the bread was lovely, inside were two miniature sausages. Almost chipolata size. Absolutely terrible value. If you’re gonna charge £7 a sandwich, make it stand out. The staff were lovely otherwise this would be a one star review. Must do better.

Love having breakfast here the food is really good, service sometimes can be slow when you're on the top floor. Sometimes it's a struggle to get bread it's very unpredictable, sometimes I'll pop in at 9/10am and they don't have the French sticks/baguettes. Great place to eat which is also dog friendly a little bit over priced :/ all in all I enjoy eating & coming here.

Croissant was dry and hard at the ends. The brownie was delicious though! Abit hit and miss with some of the items, they used to do a biscoff cruffin which was very nice bit they don't have them anymore. Also didn't realise they had an actual menu thought it was just the bakery items on show, if I'd known I would have ordered off the menu.

Every now and then you get blown away by just how great a place is and this was one of those experiences. We only popped in for a coffee but ended up having breakfast, coffee and the most wonderful cake afterwards. If I owned a food place and go here and learn how to do it. From the really genuine and lovely staff to the highest quality food … these guys can show the vast majority how to do it. It’s a beautiful quirky place and the last time I visited the premises was to buy some nails from Adams the ironmonger ( young people translation … it’s like an old fashioned B&Q!!) anyhow, the coffee is superb, the cakes off the scale and the breakfast just the best I’ve had in ages. Oh yes and by the way, the loaf of bread we bought is superb. We are so glad we’ve discovered this and won’t be bothering with other second rate eateries anymore. If I say anymore it’ll appear I’m linked to the business which I can categorically say I’m not!! If there was one tiny criticism I think I’d get a brighter bulb for the loo but that’s all I could fault. Thanks for a great experience.

The food is tasty, but... Despite the large brunch menu, there is only 1 vegan option! It is a lovely option, but it would be nice to have more options on the menu, even if it was just combinations of the items in the vegan breakfast (just beans on toast, just falafel and salad, etc). The music was loud and didn't feel appropriate for the atmosphere. We were eating brunch at 1pm on a Sunday, and at points they were playing house music, and I couldn't hear my partner from across the table! Also, service was a bit slow and it was difficult to get hold of someone when we wanted to.

Quirky place to have a venue such as this but it in no way hampers the experience. The aesthetic might not be to everyone's liking but I personally enjoy the bare brick walls and assorted items adorning them. The food is exceptional, most recently I enjoyed the pork and stuffing sandwich for brunch and it was flawless. I've never had a disappointing item to eat or drink while dining in or taking away. The assorted baked goods are, as you might expect, fantastic. The staff are all warm, friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Prices are more than reasonable for the service received. Id visit every day if I could.

So I’ve visited a couple of times, I like the menu and the variation it offers for the area, but on both occasions service was slow. The second visit I couldn’t actually break through the sour dough. I didn’t find it particularly welcoming for young families but that was more to do with it being quite an intimate setting, I felt ‘in the way’ with a pushchair and on the last visit some of the clientele looked appalled at the prospect of a toddler present - even though she was pretty good I guess the noise travels and it just didn’t give off a young family vibe.

Visited on 4/9/23. Thought the shabby chic was more shabby than chic. Had tea, coffee and cakes. Tea bag was left in the cup and so was very strong. Asked for a pastry fork . Was directed to a tin on the table. This contained 1 serviette and very little cutlery. Used a dinner fork. Checked receipt at home and saw a 10% service charge was added. We ordered at the counter and it was delivered two steps away from it. This was not mentioned. What was it for? If tips ,that should be customers desision.I would not have given one as the "service" was surly and the Server was more interested in sitting behind us to eat. To add insult to injury a baguette we bought over the counter was also subject to this hidden charge. It was hard and dry. Ask what the final bill will be, both for cafe and take away items before you order.

I literally left the cafe an hour ago with two donuts and a pear tart in tow. I'd parked at Duke Street thinking I only had an hour and was shocked after I got my cakes to see it's two hours! Unless I'm in a parallel universe I think they've extended the parking time allowed which makes the prospect of eating in so much easier. I'd read the reviews and they are very mixed. I'd been here once before ages ago and couldn't remember what I thought so I was curious to try again. It did not disappoint! The atmosphere is ultra cool, staff are pleasant, hipster and chilled, reminded me of walking into a cafe in Muswell Hill or Notting Hill. Loved it and if I'd realised there was longer free parking I'd have stayed in. I had a strawberry donut and a vanilla one. (Can't be bothered with the UK spelling.) These were beautiful! Real bloomin donuts, none of this baked rubbish which is heavy like concrete. These donuts which were generously sized, were light and fluffy with a beautiful caramelised bite to them. The strawberry one was full to the brim of jam (As I write I want it all over again!) The vanilla one was full of a lovely vanilla custard and the pear tart was great. No soggy bottoms here. Pastry with a perfect bite and beautiful fresh pears on the top. I'll admit, I can't relate to the negative reviews one tiny teeny bit. What I do know, is that they're meant to be opening one in Wylde Green which is just around the corner from me, and I know that I'm going to have to practice willpower of steel if these cakes were anything to go by! The star of the show for me? Oh, that strawberry donut!! Oh and at £11.50 for three great quality cakes, the price is of value. A success I'd say. Can't attach photos as I'd inhaled them before I could think. Sorry!

Very disappointed. I saw the previous reviews with regards to quality of food in this place and the passive aggressive response from manager but still decided to give a chance. Unfortunately it didn't took me by surprise and it was just simply average. The " mint tea" was a glass of hot water with some mint leaves in it and it cost £3 which I thought was slightly over the top! We've had some Italian toastie and goat cheese toastie which was nice. We took away some cakes which one of cinnamon swirl - very dry and bland with next to none cinnamon/ sugar trace in it as well as a piece of brownie - nice, slightly too dry and crunchy on the edges, definitely not something i will remember as a great brownie. Both cakes just over £3 each which again, slightly overkill for what it was. The biggest disappointment was the " seeded sourdough" loaf which was over £4 and we only realise as we got home that the bread itself was very light which is unusual for a sourdough, when we cut into it, the bread have nothing to do with sourdough but rather is full of air and it taste like a cheap bloomer. Staff friendly and welcoming which is definitely a positive but overall we would not recommend this place to anyone nor would we be returning. Thanks

Average. Better than Starbucks. If these places want to stay alive they need to come up with a concept that's innovative and makes people want to visit from all over the place. With the finest products sourced from all over the world. Instead you just get offered standard drinks you can find anywhere. This is what happens when you go off random Google reviews.
