It's a rubbish garden centre for plants, but for other stuff for the garden it's very good.

We visited the cafe today 14-04-24 for lunch to find no paninis or baguettes available, only breakfasts, jacket potatoes, main meals or desserts - none of which we wanted. Last week there were no jacket potatoes available when we went. The cafe seemed to pick up a little after going down hill but recently it’s not been as good and consequently has put us off visiting it again!

Slightly updated recently in a good way. You can now feed the fish as there is an indoor pond. There is a wider variety of fish to have a look at now. Pretty much everything else is the same. There are public restrooms including disabled facilities. You can get a bite to eat here and a beverage. Theres also ample parking and very accessible entrance and exit.

I've been here many times and was hoping it had improved, but sadly it hasn't infact it has got worse if you just want flowers then fine but nothing here has changed for years the cafe is extortionate prices £12.05 for a muffin cake (very dry)and a small slice of lemon cake and two small/regular cups of coffee, well I'm not being awkward but these are airport prices for essentially bog standard cafe food. The stock here for your garden is sooo old it's not been updated for years how on earth the owners are still in business beggars belief?? I won't mention the competition that are around but there are now garden centers that are within a twenty mile radius that you can go to and they have become a whole day experience.. It's a real shame as this garden centre is in a great position and has the space to expand but has failed to grow with the times.

This afternoon 18 of us went to Seasons Garden Centre Cafe for afternoon tea. The food was excellent, and plenty of it, in fact a number took some delights home. The choice of sandwiches and on brown/white bread, the large scones with jam and cream, and the range of small cakes was fantastic. It wasn't the first time the group had been to Seasons and it certainly won't be the last. A Big Thank You to Dawn and her wonderful staff. D King

We ordered 2 meals fish and chips ,expected to have a nice meal, to my horror we were served with fish that had been over fried really hard batter and dark brown almost burnt and very grease, the fish inside the batter was so small that it looked like a cheep packet fish nothing like the picture that they are advertising ,chips were almost cold the whole meal was so small like a child's portion, especially being a Friday their fish and chip day . So disappointed it really spoilt our day . Definitely won't be wasting my money there for a terrible meal. YOU NEED TO SERVE PROPER FOOD.

Yesterday, Valentines Day, I booked one of their Special Afternoon Teas for Valentines, for me and my lovely Partner. The table was set with love hearts on the table cloth and napkins, and a red rose and heart-shaped balloon completed the scene. There was a tray of heart shaped sandwiches, in 4 flavours, 2 slices of red velvet cake, 2 fruit scones with jam and cream, sliced fresh strawberries, 4 small cup-cakes and several cups of hot drink. Nothing was too much trouble, it was a really lovely experience Thank You to all the staff at Seasons.

While the fish section of the garden centre which I visit often is great - what is not is the parrots and their care. Sure, while African Grays and Amazons can be very prone to plucking, their tank has nowhere near enough natural perches, toys and things to keep them stimulated. The signs say they have tried everything, but clearly they havent tried investing in either cages for a while - the perches that are there are heavily worn. Both parrots are also fed entirely seed diets from what I can see - this will lead to eventual fatty liver disease - even at a minimum they should be on pellets, but veg / chop is preferred. It would not take a store employee very long to keep up with their fresh food intake. The water bowl is left to fester, when it should be washed everytime they poo in there. Really dissapointing to see that these reviews of poor parrot care go back 5-6 years, clearly they havent tried to put any effort in.

So my son applied for a job in the cafe and was asked to do 2 hours trial on a Saturday 12 to 2pm with no pay, their busiest time and he was told that she would ring him either way. He NEVER got a phone call. I'm starting to think it was a scam, so they got free help in the cafe for nothing. They could at least of called him after giving his time for 2 hours for nothing! Poor show!

Well I have been reading some of the other reviews and find they are far from the truth...especially when it comes to the cafe/restaurant. It's terrible. They might just have been having a bad day but the food was diabolical. .. We ordered several jacket potatoes. ..with filling...They were terrible. This is a very simple basic thing to cook along with fillings. .. Very small potatoes which were cooked OK. . But the fillings were terrible I have never seen such poor fillings..and the amount which was actually on the potatoe dish was minuscule to say the least..Poor quality terrible. Was supposed to be Chilli con carne??? A sniff of meat couple of kidney beans. ..terrible. ..Who ever is cooking this hasn't got a clue...It's not a chef for sure or anyone who knows about cooking...The presentation was awful. ..How the waitress must feel putting this in front of customers I do not know embarrassing. ...The whole restaurant needs a kick up the arse along with whom is ever in charge..The other fillings were just as shocking. ALSO what do you do with the salad....Chopping it up into tiny little pieces as a side is ridiculous. ..it looks awful, becomes watery and looks about as appetising as a wet squid run over by a steam roller.... Such a shame you have an opportunity to make a nice restaurant, but your food is poor...

Opted for quiche, which came with chips and salad x 2. The restaurant was empty around this time, 11.30 am. Shocking is being nice! The quiche was small and tasteless. Chips were as dry as the plate. Love coming here, my only wish is that they did a bigger Christmas department like the other garden centres around. Loved visiting the cafe and having a good walk round. It is a shame though that they have less quality and bigger prices now. For a tiny bowl of chips and a can for 2 of us cost over £10! I understand prices need to increase but the portions are much smaller now... shame as they have recently built a large Mcdonalds round the corner - hope this doesn't take their custom.

This place has gone seriously downhill, don’t know if it’s under new management since my last visit. We arrived around 3:30pm, 4 adults, 1 child. Mostly empty, seemed a lot of staff around. Doing what I don’t know, as we struggled to find a clean table. In the end selecting one with the least mess & sweeping the crumbs away. £49 for our food and drinks, seems expensive for the meagre portions provided. Used to be good quality food & generously portioned. Not so now. The child was served last, which I always find annoying. Weirdly with a kids meal, if the child has a sandwich the drink is free. If hot food, then drink is extra. The club sandwich was very stale, dry, minimal contents randomly distributed. The jacket potato was old, dry, with a couple of tablespoons of tuna. No butter. Having forgotten my cheese I took it back up. Seeing the paltry amount sprinkled upon its return, grated cheese must’ve replaced the dollar as the worldwide currency. Staff were surly & not the happy, friendly bunch that used to be there. All in all, for that price I could’ve gone to one of the local chain pubs for better food, more comfort, & a generally nicer atmosphere. Ah well, next time. I certainly won’t be coming back here.

I had cottage pie which arrived potato at the bottom with a tablespoon of diced carrots and mince - I’m being generous! covered in gravy. The only flavour was of pepper and it had very obviously been microwaved. My friend had lasagne which wasn’t much better. Drinks were expensive. It always used to be very busy with a lovely atmosphere and great food at a good price - now there’s no atmosphere, awful food at a high price because of quality, no customer service and very few customers. Looking the worse for wear. Staff were at the tills, no one greeted us. First we went to the cafe, tables were dirty and dirty plates were piled up on one table in the corner - no table was cleared over the 30 mins we were in the cafe. Food was disappointing and overpriced. Had coronation chicken which had hardly any filling and a 1970s style side salad of iceberg lettuce, two bits of tomato and two slices of cucumber. 2 sandwiches, 2 drinks and some half cooked chips = £21.60 and staff were not very friendly. Walked around the aquarium concession. It needed a clean and there was exposed mechanical equipment and obvious areas where there were leaks. The pet area has little in the way of toys or choice and there were cobwebs everywhere. Looked at garden furniture and it appears damaged and not of good quality. Ultimately it was disappointing.
