My first time in an Irish pub ,The barmaid was not very welcoming if your not local , she did not look like she wanted me here ,she wod talk to all the locals ,but gave me a death stare when i wanted to order . She did nit have much knowledge of traditional drinks . DO NOT COME IN HERE UNLESS YOUR LOCAL

Absolutely fantastic boozer. Could not wish for a great atmosphere without fail the best pub in Torquay. Great pint the best bar ive ever had. Especially Graham what a lovely man. See you next year O'Donnell. Your bar staff deserve a pay rise.regards. Paul Adamson.

Went there for the karaoke I was only in Torquay for one night. Found the atmosphere & clientele very friendly. Would definitely go back.

A very friendly pub with a lovely atmosphere

Nice pub, very cozy with Celtic music in the background. We went there to have something to eat and drink but this pub doesn't do food. The solution was very easy. We were allowed to get food from the neighboring Fish & Chips shop and eat it in the pub, provided we ordered something to drink. A 'done deal'. It's nice that there are such flexible entrepreneurs.

Mixed opinions on the ladies, one really friendly the other scared me. However It didn't take away from the atmosphere on karaoke night. The crowd was on the older side, but they had the energy of the crew from the movie cocoon. Put as passing through people to shame. Loved the happy vibe of the place.

We had a cracking night the group were called brigstow 2 lads from Bristol (hartcliff/Ashton vale) they were brilliant Irish/English/80s/90s/ lead singer amazing beer flowed staff good can't wait to come back

Yeah good. Karaoke two three nights a week artists a couple of times a week good atmosphere.

Only popped in for a couple of Guinness but welcomed very warmly and served quickly even though it was busy. Seemed to be a good vibe and outdoor seating watching the harbour was a bonus!

It was karaoke night. Great atmosphere and some better than expected singing. The one person behind the bar struggled as it was quite busy, no fault of hers, she did her best.

Brilliant place even aloud our dog Lily in and gave her a bowl of water while we had a drink.

Good place for a drink, they let dogs in which is good. Only a small place.The drinks are quite cheap.

Came to Torquay for the day and had to come in. Staff very welcoming and a nice pub to have a drink. They had sport on too. They do draught guiness that isn't extra cold too, which my partner tells me makes the best guiness so he was happy

BEWARE: When buying a half pint, the female bartender will charge for a full pint. This is the second time this has happened to us. Otherwise, on St Patrick's Day, the atmosphere has been great. A shame one member of staff is ripping off the customers.... ☹️

Always go here when we stay in Torquay around 4 times a year. Cracking pub and great staff. Alway good music. Always happy to help the friendly door staff also.

Stayed in torquay this week11th-15th march loved this pub, every member of staff we’ve been served by has been so friendly, we would definitely recommend.

Not the nicest of pubs better pubs in the area... This bar has karaoke 80s nights etc... The problem with most bars are the staff who work in them. The staff here are sometimes polite and other times not so friendly. This probs depends on the day they have had working their. The pub itself looks very dated and could do with a refurbishment. The price for a pint reasonable but mostly it's for hoilday markers not for locals...

Nice pub 8 of us went in I was on the Guinness whilst my brother in law was on caffreys. Had great time in there.

Always head to shamus for a Guinness for hubby and caffreys for me .

Popped in here while staying In Torquay, pretty busy both nights but got a seat easily. People were happy to share a table with us and got chatting to a lovely couple from Birmingham. Good service and decent prices. On the Friday evening the men’s loos absolutely stank of sewers 🥴

Wouldn’t let us sit outside at 2 in the afternoon because we had a 3 month old babbie in a pram A 3 month old !!! When I asked why it’s not acceptable this miserable looking woman pointed to a scanned notice on the window blaming the council Strange that because 2 months earlier they welcomed us with open arms, even allowing us to bring in chips from a chip shop nearby Bring chips in but not a sleeping babbie ?? So all 11 of us when’s to Wetherspoons in the town and had a great time Treat paying customers like this and you will be shut this time next year and good riddance too

Visited many times on our trips to torquay,nice little place and fab views of harbor. Sorry not to have caught black jack Davie this time. Prices about average and a canny pint.

We visited on a Tuesday evening due to seeing another visitors post assuring us they had live music most nights, so were guaranteed to have a good evening and we weren’t unimpressed! Fab lady singing anything from 70’s to early 2000’s.

Lovely sea front bar with great beers, wines etc. Nice music together with really sunny aspect. Try it!

Good location on the front of the harbour with some nice outside seating. Let down by poor service due to the lack of staff, decent pint of Guinness.

As you should be able to tell by the name - it is Irish themed. Interesting display of all things related Irish and alcohol. Nice location with harbour view.

I had the pleasure of a lunch time drink here and witnessed some guy harrasing a woman having a quiet drink on her own the staff intervened and dealt with it in such a professional manner I'd like to commend them and on top of that it's a great bar to have a drink or three at and it's strictly over 18s only

Had a lovely time in this pub on Sunday afternoon with it's live music and very pleasant atmosphere, The barmaid remembered me, I've only been in there once before, so that was nice for her to say she recognised me.

Me my daughter and 2 besties had the best time in the bar last weekend..staff were fantastic made us feel so welcome we definitely will be returning and want our same table..lolxxx

What an absolute gem of a pub, visiting and stopped here for a few, music was amazing, bar staff run ragged and still had a smile and were very pleasant will definitely be returning 😎😎

Expensive beer 2 x pints just under a tenner,served us at 12 midnight but security hassling us to drink up at 4 mins past midnight.Karaoke chap puts his favourites on .I got 1 song in 2 hours.

Great place to finish off your day

Nice place, good selection of beers, lagers & good quality Guiness. Despite bring an 'Irish theme pub when we visited there was no traditional Irish band playing (limited to a couple if hours on Sunday afternoons) but the band playing were still very good. Staff were excellent, prices good & quite a few tables & chairs available if you arrive early. Will definitely return on my next visit to Torquay

Stopped in for a beer whilst walking around the harbour. The pub was lovely and welcoming with a good selection of beers and and spirits. No heating on so it was freezing cold and I left to drink elsewhere. If it had been warmer I would have stayed and given it five stars so probably a place to visit in the warmer months.
