Fish 8/10 Chips 1/10 chips were horrible

I'll say this I work always away and have already eaten Thousands of kebabs as for the one from this restaurant is very very tasty, in the salad I missed the jalapeño and the better garlic sauce but the chilli sauce is perfect Very fast service

Definitely the best local chip shop around, never had a bad experience here, all of the others seem to be decent and then start to slip in quality. Seagull have always kept up the standards let's hope they stay doing what they are because they are doing something right to keep this quality of food 👍

Cod was spoiled by very thick batter. Chips were disgraceful. all scraps, hard and dry! Find it hard to believe they can’t get the basics right. Loads of staff working, how could no one see the chips were not fit to serve

This used to be the best chippy on the wood but sadly not anymore. Chips are not consistent, some days they are lovely, other days they are a bag of mush and grease. The pizza we ordered were shocking. It arrived and was stone cold so we thought. It wasn't cooked!! The dough was still doughy and the meat toppings were raw. I phoned the seagull to tell them about the pizza and they just said I need to sort it with uber. Shocking service and he even admitted they don't quality check the pizzas even though they put a quality check sticker on the box. Sorry but I will avoid this place with a passion now, there are so many better chippys around. The one at tile Cross for example is a million times better. Mackadown chippy knocks spots of the seagull.

Visted the chip shop asked for chicken meat with chips with ketchup and mayonnaise, I ask the stupid woman if I could have a look at the meal she said I done what you asked for on returning home I found out that dumbo had given me something totally different from what I asked for and to top it off the food was dry and disgusting she didn’t even put not a tablespoon of sauce on the meal. I was that angry I called the woman all the names you could think of😡🥲

Love this place, it's my goto chippy! Always nice chips, never greasy and not overpriced like a few around here.

Best chip shop in Birmingham in my opinion. Foods always hot and tasty on every single delivery I've had .😶I've had quite a few aswel Unfortunately I've had to change my review.I ordered off deliveroo and I got a pizza with the most rancid sour taste I've ever experienced. Fast forward nearly 2 weeks I order for my dad directly off there site for my dad to be throwing up and poorly tummy and runs all night .There's something really wrong at the minute and it's not like there nor aware !

Good food, even tho the blonde lady gave my sister hot Sauce when nobody asked for it. We sent it back after my sister had an elergic reaction to it. And the male that helped with the kabab meat and chips thank you so much. You’re a life saver. On the way to hospital now Safe to say I will never be ordering from that blonde lady again

This is my go to chippy, it's always busy which I consider to be a good thing as everything is nice and fresh, and I think it is good value.

Best chippy in the area. Staff are kind and helpful, food is top notch, especially the naan kebabs. Tip: Order online and then collect in the pizza area to skip the queue ;)

I given here a miss for sometime as if heard the prices were a little expensive. BUT when I did go back, yes it's not tha cheapest in this area but the food is well worth the money you pay for it. There's so many items that need ordering when you arrive which means they are FRESH FRESH FRESH. Friendly service and the added bonus of being able to pay by card too. Some parking spaces outside. GRRRRREAT CHIPPY

Pizza was really cheese and it was inedible

Not very understanding as I asked for my meal fish and chips special to be wrapped in paper and not polystyrene as I am allergic but they told me I would have to pay full price to have it wrapped in paper so I'm not very happy with this service and it should be looked into

Had some fish and chips delivered, £3.99 delivery and £0.50 service charge.. chips was awful had bad bits on 90% of them and the fish was just warm, terrible never going their again.

Great food bit of a wait though

Having just spent £35 I would at least expect them to get the order right!!! When i took the items back that was wrong I got yje response off the manager well it is hot and what do you want me to do sack her!!! No a simple apology would have done Attitude is absolutely disgusting and as much as the food is amazing from here I won't be spoken too like that So will not be returning

Food was really good. The order consisted of doner meat, sfc, roe, scallop, gravy and chips & all were enjoyed & demolished . 3yr old wasn’t keen on the chicken nuggets but not many chippys do decent nuggets anyways so I’d always let that slide. Only thing i don’t like is their menu on Deliveroo, as you can’t choose what sauces or salad you want without having to phone them. So after phoning I forgot to say peas with the “roe and chips special” which clearly states you get some side with it but they chose to send nothing rather than just throw a random one in there or phone to ask.

Always friendly and upbeat staff who work cheerfully under pressure. Food is excellent, tasty, very good value and there is plenty of it. Cannot recommend them enough.

This place is horrendous. Food is sub-par. I saw a delivery driver ask, who was delivering from the shop to use the bathroom that was clearly there, and the owner/manager of the place flat out said no way and didn’t even look at the driver. Driver asked if he was not human enough to use their bathroom, they didn’t even reply. If that sort of person is making your food and you’re happily eating it goodluck!

Prices are ridiculous lately, based on their small portion sizes.they could easily afford to be much cheaper if there wasn't so many staff just standing around. I counted 8 on my last visit !! It's a chip shop !!

Don’t order lamb kebab meat. The lamb meat was not edible today. So chewy and greasy, hard to swallow. Ordered small kebab meat and chips, advertised at £4.50 but the women charged me £5.00. It will be the last time we go here as the food has got worse each time and the woman makes the prices up as she goes along

Waste of time and money. Food was cold, the toppings had all slid off the pizza. I’d of been better off getting one from a shop and cooking it myself would of have a better result. Not worth the money £9 for a poor excuse if a pizza. The rest of the food was just about edible but also cold and nobody likes a cold soggy chip. The cafe you had there was just as bad as the pizza shop you have replaced it with. If there was a option to give no stars I would of.

Disgusting, the chips are soggy and all mushed Together like mash potato

Where do i start..kebab and chips..meat was pale mint yogurt was vile and washed out and the chips was so soggy couldn't even pick them up with a chip shop fork..wont be returning..gone right down hill..shame i had to leave one star

Use this chippy on a regular basis. Lately the food is below standard, fish greasy, chips hard, sausages as if they have been sat there all day. Sorry won't be using this chip shop again any time soon.

Bit of a attitude need to smile and b more polite to customers, also wrong you can only use your card if spending over a fiver or u get charged, I live on my own so already find it hard so I had to buy something else which went in bin, waste, Shudnt b no limits at all

Shame they are no longer taking phone orders as have had problem with Uber option they provide. Food is OK but as with many takeaways think they are forgetting about what customer service should be.

I no fault in the food or staff as excellent food n lovely staff but website times need updating as it said open from 12-10pm went at 4pm n it was closed

The prices at THE SEAGULL have soared this week as we have ordered 3 meals from you tonight and the prices on all 3 meals have gone up by nearly £4.30 - while i accept the rise in food prices have gone up i think your prices are well over the top and the only charges that have remained the same are the service charge and the delivery charge and like most people we expected a small increase in prices but the higher prices that you are charging now are just too much and i suspect most people will not be ordering from you in the future at these over inflated prices.

I've been ordering for ages and it's got steadily worse! Tonight was the final straw food arrived stone cold we ordered a large kebab a medium arrived ( not the first time) half the chips were raw most of the food went in the bin! Thanx seagulls we won't be ordering again and I suggest no one else does either they also told a couple of pensioners who don't have the internet they don't take orders over the phone anymore.

absolute trash the last 2 weeks gave us wrong food and today possibly the smallest mini fish and chips ever seen and charged us a fiver avoid today 3/1/22 thought i would try again today partner bought back chips and a burger the chips where absolutley rock solid like bee left overningh and reheated how this shop is still open is a mystery better of ging down bell lane

Tried this place for first time this week and went back following day Quality donner meat and Quality Cod miles better than anything else in the area even the pukka pie was saucy and cooked perfectly. I asked for my kebab in nan to be well done no problem at all and the best I have had in years. Really tasty top quality food the only chip shop I will use now

I waited too long for my order staff in friendly I pay nearly 11 pounds for an order which at my local chip shop was just over 8 pounds, the fish was too much batter chips tasted like they were re heated never again

Been using this place for years and food is always gorgeous. Wheelchair accessible. Friendly staff. Good specials for a really good price. Nice and clean. Expect a cue on a Friday evening. But well worth the wait. Do deliver

rock hard chips that have been reheated kebab meat was obviously from the previous day and asked for salad and all we got was onion and a bit of shredded lettuce .an absolute joke of a chip hop mini fish and chips with urry sauce for 5.50 would not feed a mouse been like this for years now all the staff leave within a week of working there disgrace

I ordered a margarita pizza, fish chips and peas and chicken nuggets. Fish was dry and hard even though it was cooked to order. Peas like water and chips were tasteless and hard. Pizza looked ok but my daughter was up being sick in the night and I’ve had terrible stomach cramps since eating the food We haven’t eaten anything else the same today and we were feeling fine before eating here. I used to use this place a lot but no more. Staff rude and unhelpful apart from one lady. No customer service skills at all.

Hadn't been here for ages and decided to take a friend as I rated this for a long time. It has changed hands since I last went. Wish I hadn't bothered, had fish,chips and roe. All were cooked hours ago and were inedible had to leave the chips as they had gone cold and hard. Will definitely not go there again as my friend didn't know what I was raving on about.

What a let down, first off it was a 30 minute wait, as you have three members of staff, one doing uber eats, one doing another sort of takeaway and then the other shop floor. So there all fighting for the last of the food items and no one can grasp the concept of how long each different person had waited ect. It was a poor poor effort and quality, no salt or vinegar. Chips were soggy with grease and stuck together like a brick. If I could give it no stars I would. AVOID AVOID AVOID !!!!

I have been getting food from seagull fish bar for years and I would say the past 2 years the prices have increased meanwhile the portions are getting smaller/less value for money.. it’s like they are rationing with the chips and meat. You can even see management watching the workers to make sure they don’t put to much food on the paper or trays. Sort it out seagull your a community business, look after your community not rip them off.

Food from the chippy is spot on, great portions, always tasty but the pizzas from next door are not the best... The dough is 👌 but the ingredients, mainly the meats, taste like cheap quality pepperoni, salami etc... Spot on for chip shop food, better options for pizza

Worst chip shop ever, asked for plenty of salt and vinegar on food and they didn't put any on! It took 99 phone calls before anyone answered the phone and then they hung up on me after arguing that they did! I took the food back into the shop to be spoken to by a man who said I cant have a refund as I ordered through uber eats. I got no apology for the rudeness of the staff and they wouldn't replace the food as they didn't have any left despite there being food visibly on display in the shop! And they refused to check the food I had returned! Awful staff and awful service. Avoid!!!
