Seagers in The Vale of Glamorgan

Came here this evening with a group of 6 friends. For starters I had the chilli shredded chicken followed by 16oz rump with chips and blue cheese sauce. Service and food on point. My friends had different starters and most had steak dishes followed by deserts. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed and all plates were cleared going back. Great food and the service was very quick and efficient. The staff who attended to our table were great. Made an excellent night that bit better. Well done team,

Starters were good. Steaks ordered were all very underdone and sent back, in my case it was sent back twice and as a result I was out of sinc with everyone else. Then had to wait so long to get deserts that three of the family had to leave, and to top it off when the waiter came to take the dessert orders for those remaining my daughter asked what the cheesecake was and he replied quite sarcastically describing it adding that it was the same as it was when he brought the dessert menus. My Daughter wasn’t at the table when he came first time so how could she have known. It was plain rude! Were the steaks nice - not really and mine was quite salty. This was supposed to be a special occasion, our golden wedding anniversary but came out feeling the day was spoiled

Popped in on the off chance and were lucky they could seat us as they were busy. Had a very nice meal , I had the garlic steak and my husband had surf and turf. I must say they have looked after the inside it looks pristine after being open for many years. Service was excellent

We came on Sunday 28th July a party of 7 including my 2 year old. We all ate of the normal menu except 1 who had Sunday lunch, to start crispy shredded chicken, my partner had the prawns and the others the same. I had Sunday lunch, the others steaks and from the normal menu. I had the 16 oz rump and the others off the normal menu including the tomahawk. Food cooked to perfection. The service was incredible. My two year old loved the sausage and chips with garlic bread. The best steak house and Sunday lunch locally

Can only say great things about seagers we have a veggie and gluten intolerant they had a great selection for both of them. Waiter was really polite friendly, helpful and service was second to none. The food well I'm sat here and cannot think of any faults. 1st born said it was the nicest steak he had out. All steaks were cooked perfectly to how we asked it is the perfect restaurant experience

Fantastic food & service. Steak absolutely outstanding, best we’ve ever had! Everyone in the family thoroughly enjoyed their meals, not a bad word to say.Highly recommend the fillet steak medallions, smoky taste on outside but so tender inside. Chips are hand cut & crispy, definitely have these. The red wine gravy is amazing too.Service was very attentive, seemed to anticipate everything we were going to ask for! One of, if not the best restaurant we’ve been to in Swansea. Much better than the big name steakhouses. A must visit!

We were regular visitors to another Seagers restaurant, the Bryngwyn in Pwll so knew what to expect....well cooked food using quality ingredients and brilliant service. I had the Stilton burger which Ive had many times at the other place, here it was slightly better in that the Stilton taste was more obvious. Would happily return here.

Came in for lunch the other and was given a warm welcome and shown right to our seats our server Tyler was fantastic nothing was too big of an ask the food was lovely would defiantly recommend

Expecting lunch time menu, not available on a Saturday. Biggest disappointment was the garlic and chilli prawn starter, the prawns were Luke warm and not cooked in the sauce but put on top of the sauce. The Olives and bread whilst very nice was over priced. Mixed grill platter plentiful but a bit dry/ overcooked, the fillet blue cheese medallions were cooked to perfection Service was lovely but came away feeling we had paid a lot of money for an average lunch at £27 per head just for food not including drinks

Had a lovely takeaway Sunday dinner from Seagers this weekend!! The staff were all wearing face masks and socially distanced when I picked it up. Everything on the dinner was piping hot even by the time we got it home. All the vegetables were perfect and not over cooked. The Yorkshire puddings were amazing and clearly homemade! Reasonably priced, we can’t wait get another meal in one of Seagers restaurants soon!

For what you pay for the food is only average, the service was outstanding, and the price of drinks is excessive

Visited today as was passing through the area, we had Sunday lunch and it was outstanding. Service and welcome was first class, definitely will return soon.

Visited the restaurant for the first time for lunch today. Will definitely visit again. The food was excellent. We had the shared platter as a starter then the crispy duck. My wife who is fussy about here chips reckon they were the best she has tasted for a long time. Praise indeed.Even with the restrictions the service was excellent and timely. Highly recommend.

We have visited The Grillhouse several times but this was our first visit to its sister restaurant. The quality is just as good but we found the setting to be more pleasant and had excellent customer service from the team.The best place we have visited in the last few months, it felt clean, safe and well distanced from others.The food was incredible. I did knock a star off as both myself and my wife asked for medium-well steaks and they came out quite well done.I'd recommend the Seagers Mixed Grill, it is £25 but amazing value and quality. Great choice of kids meals too.The peanut butter stack is the best dessert you can have locally in my opinion.

Came for a meal, have not visited before, in fact my first trip to wales and what a welcome surprise. Staff very attentive to needs and chef asked specifically to my particular steak requirements, I had a blue tomahawk steak which was cooked to my personal perfection. Philip was attentive to make sure our meal was adequate and I commend his uplifting attitude. Honestly hands down, your steak was better than the ones I have eaten at home in the Cotswolds. Highly recommend 5*

had lunch there today excellent service had a mixed grill 11.95 great value then 50% off fantastic the reason why i give 4 and not 5 stars they didnt ask if we wanted pudding lost a sale otherwise fantastic

Each meal delivered was absolutely delicious. The side order of cheesy garlic bread complimented our main meals. We were too full to even contemplate a dessert. We thoroughly enjoyed and kept talking about it ; the sign of an excellent meal.

We pre-ordered and collected our Sunday lunch from Seagars. We had selected our collection slot and the food was just being packaged for us, on time and piping hot. I am not a fan of take away lunch, but this was AMAZING! The value for money is excellent, the amount on meat and vegetables was fantastic and all tasted delicious. We will definitely returning for Sunday lunch. Diolch!

My family & I went last year for this occasion & loved it. Food, service brill. Food lovely & hot also not expensive. Decor great, lovely & clean everywhere. Worth paying a visit to. Not sure if they did children's menu.

Food and atmosphere was lovely.Phil the waiter was like Batman’s Butler, what a lovely gentleman. Have visited as a couple and large family booking. Lovely food and attentive staff each time. Will return! Big thank you to gentleman waiter with glasses who looked after myself and our toddler when we arrived before the rest of the family. Nothing was too much trouble and he was kind and welcoming. Not everywhere is like that to a 2 year old! A big thumbs up!

Lovely welcome. Attentive staff, but not fussing. My husband had beef medallions which he said were delicious. I had sea bass (I'm not a beef lover). What impressed me most was the arrival of a fish knife! I know! Sounds silly, but it just added that extra bit of care for the food they serve! I recommend this restaurant! Will go again.

We went there to celebrate our twins birthday and therefore took along 2 cakes.When we asked them to keep the cakes to bring it after dinner We were told they only allow 1 cake!!!And we said 2 people are celebrating their birthday and we were told the same thing again.They did eventually bring both cakes but it spoils your evening when that is the start.We would not be celebrating a birthday there again!If you are going there to celebrate more than 1 birthday don’t waste your time !

My brother and I had standard sirloins with chips. Some of the best steak I have ever had. Think Iwill try one of the air dried cuts next time. If you like a good steak you should visit. You will not be disappointed.

I’ve been here on a few occasions now and each one has been fabulous. The staff are really attentive and friendly. My most recent visit, I came with my Gran after a “girls day out” shopping. She has mobility issues and needs to be close to the toilet. The staff were extremely accommodating and made sure we had an easily accessible table which was close to the toilets (and made sure we were happy with the table before seating us!) Little details like that go a long way I feel, as it reflects you’re willingness to satisfy the customer. We had the lunch menu which was very good value for money. The food is delicious and good portion sizes. The only thing that stops me from coming more regularly is not being a dog friendly restaurant (my pups come everywhere with me). That’s not a negative on the restaurant/bar though, just my personal thing. Definitely recommend.

Me and three relatives went to seagers the week before Xmas for a girly Xmas meal. Have been to a few seagers restaurants and they have very high standards of food, customer service and friendly vibe! This was no exception. My auntie is vegetarian she had lots of Choice. We all had different meals mine was the lamb. Absolutely stunning! We all thoroughly enjoyed our food! Can not fault the service there the staff are beyond helpful. Cannot praise this fantastic place and have recommended to so many people! Just hope I can get a table next time I visit!

Went for food after shopping, just turned up and they had spaces for two. Food was delicious, I had steak cooked perfectly, veg and sides hot and tasted, just great. Partner had the t bone, he was chuffed with the taste and portion size! Will be here again. Loved the red wine. Just great.

Seagars is one of the very best places I have been to.

Went a few times in October. Diamond wedding for my parents and Sunday dinner. Can't fault the staff they are so friendly and helpful and treat my disabled father with respect. The food as always is delicious and the Sunday lunch menu is stunning and so tasty. This has now become our regular haunt. Not the cheapest but certainly one of the best.

Really disappointed as my medallions were cold. Told our waiter who said "I'll tell the chef"?????. We do call quite regular so a free dessert as a good will gesture would have been a nice seeing as we spent almost £140. Staff were lovely and the restaurant is stunning.

I was lucky enough to be a winner on this company's Facebook page, which entitled me to a few 2 course lunch for 2 people, and aren't I glad! The food was delicious!

Visited here tonight with my partner and family. Absolutely incredible food, best steak I have ever tasted. Service was outstanding, every waiter/waitress that served us was very polite. Our waiter was very informative of all of the food and steaks available. Great choice and an all round fantastic experience. Will definitely be visiting again.

Visited this restaurant on a Friday night. Had to book in advance. Four of us had a lovely evening with great food drinks and service. Beautiful decor and great service

A group of us meet for lunch every two months. Seagers was chosen for August as I had eaten there before and was pleased with the visit. the staff are very friendly and welcoming and greet you as you come through the door. The lunch menu is two course for a set price, or one has the choice of eating from the A La carte menu. The tables are always nicely laid with water provided if required. Seagers specialise in Air dried beef it is more expensive when chosen, but is excellent, with the bonus being the meat is on display in a special sealed room with a big glass window in order for customers to view the meat currently being air dried under controlled temperatures. I have had steaks and a full cooked meat & veg dinner there both excellent. Seagers is becoming so popular that it is advisable for one to book before going especially if the party is large.

We booked Seagers for a 60th Birthday meal for a total of 12 people. Staff were so accommodating and helpful. Service was fantastic and the food was amazing! Would highly recommend a visit! Thank you to all the staff.

We have been there twice now and both times had a warm welcome. The whole experience was delightful. It is one of our favourite places now. Thank you, you have a great restaurant and another great one in Llanelli. Leanna

A group of six of us came on a busy and rainy Saturday night and had a fantastic time. Menu is a little smaller than the other Seagar restaurants but the steak menu is very big with further cuts of beef available on their dry aged board which explains the different cuts and weights available. I visited the restaurant before Seagars took over and I can see how much effort and love they've put into revamping the place as it looks amazing. I was the oy vegetarian of the group but I was pleasantly surprised by the four options available as they all seemed appealing and tasty. I ordered the Mediterranean bake and it was really flavoursome and filling, my only suggestion would be to maybe put a few more veggies in the dish as it was mostly sauce with a few peppers and onions with the odd carrot, maybe a few courgettes and aubergine pieces would be nice, especially as it's advertised as 'Mediterranean' but the sauce was quite tasty to dip chips in. Steaks were all tender and tasty and the sauces were fantastic. Thoroughly enjoyed the evening and will definitely be back to celebrate special occasions.

Will probably not return. Lovely starter of barbecue ribs then ordered a 10oz sirloin medium rare (ordered it more rare than medium). Lovely steak, cooked more medium which was okish but no flavour whatsoever. I asked waitress where it was from and what breed it was and in all fairness all questions answered. I took a third of the steak home as I wasn't imptessed so asked my husband to taste - said the same as me that it lacks flavout

Recently visited Seagers for first time and certainly won’t be the last. Huge selection of steak and these cuts if steak can be viewed in restaurant before choosing. Restaurant decor very stylish, staff very friendly and nothing too much bother. Steaks cooked to perfection and desserts to die for. Will be back.

I visited yesterday with my husband to celebrate a friends 50th Birthday. We went off the main menu, and the rest of party had lunch menu. Everyone’s food was excellent and delicious. Lovely staff and customer service, will definitely be returning and recommending.

Had the rump which was more medium then the rare I ordered, also had blue cheese sause, but could not really taste the blue cheese

A very warm welcome on entering, seated immediately, staff all very friendly and helpful. Clean modern fresh decor throughout. Excellent selection on the Sunday lunch menu for both meat eaters and vegetarians. Good value for money will definitely visit again.

I haven't enjoyed a meal of excellent standard for quite some time. This food was excellent. The service was second to none. Nothing was too much trouble. Well worth a visit. Booking is advised.

We have eaten before at lunchtime and were impressed by the decor and cleanliness. We decided to have dinner at Seagers last night and were not disappointed.

Called for lunch today which was excellent, we both had salmon with vegetables that I would highly recommend. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

We’d been meaning to visit and decided to do so today. We were impressed with the decor and general cleanliness of the restaurant. The food was okay but not outstanding. The chips were tasty but rather undercooked. The duck was tasty and the portion size was generous. I had the pea and mint soup but found it rather sour as if there were lemon juice added. We will return.

The food was to a high standard. It was delicious. The service wasn't as good. We waited a while to be served and when the waitress came and asked us if we were ready to order we hadn't been given menu's. The drinks took quite a while and we waited 20 minutes for an extra wine glass and only then had to as we had ask again. I would try this restaurant again as I hope it was just a bad day of service and the food was to die for.

Really tried to give this place a chance, but 8 meals later still dissapointed, forgotten orders, cold food, greasy chips and very small portions not the generous ones as advertised on the radio

Always been a fan of Seagers I moved away from the Bryngwyn Restaurant in Pwll a few years ago and have missed it so thought I would try out Seagers No.1 High Street.

Just visited Seagers for a Sunday Roast, totally overwhelmed by the quality of all the food and the staff were exceptional. We are here visiting from Essex and have hit gold finding this restaurant. Will definitely return.

We were looking forward to trying the steak,and were not disappointed.My husband had the Sirloin and I had the ribeye steak.They were cooked perfectly,and were tender and juicy.The peppercorn sauce,was a little too hot for me.But I’d never tried it before,so a lesson for me.not to try again.We had the ice cream sundaes strawberry and chocolate fudge for afters.The staff were all polite and very attentive.My husband enjoyed his birthday meal out,and I also did.Would definitely recommend,and can’t wait to go again.

Went here with my partner after hearing good reviews. Loads of parking around the back but can get a little tight with no markings and when we went it was raining so lots of puddles. staff were all very friendly and attentive but in no way in your face. Food was ordered same time as drinks and both arrived together very quickly. I had the dry aged T-Bone and my partner had the crispy duck. Both meals were delicious. The steak was beautifully cooked and melted in the mouth. Chips were big and home cooked like they should be. £50 for the 2 of us with drinks was very reasonable. I will be coming back and next time i think i will attempt the lovely looking Mixed grill.

Fab dinner the chilli duck and chicken mango chutney with cheese were lovely didn't have desert but that looked really nice also.The service was great give it a try good food.

Myself and my partner visited this evening. The food was fantastic, service very friendly, even the manager was all smiles. It was so nice to see different staff all pitching in to help out as well as having Tia our fantastic waitress to check up on us! Steaks were perfect, it was so good I'm writing this in the car park!

Only noticed this place by chance... and what a delight it was!!! This is a prime example of exactly how eating out should be. Impeccable Service. Delicious food. 5* all around. Pity other dining out establishments cudnt take a leaf out of their book.

Just very expensive pub grub. It seems they have tried to go a bit more upmarket with this restaurant but it hasn’t really worked. Menu much smaller than other restaurants and mains are overpriced.

My partner and I have been to No1 Seager a few times, the vibe is brilliant and so are the staff. We had a 3 course meal recently which each meal was perfectly cooked and desert was beautiful. I will be recommending to friends and family.

We had lovely good and desserts were delicious definitely recommend this place if you want a nice meal bit more expensive than your ordinary pub grub

The staff were very friendly from the front of the house to the waitress serving the food. The food itself was ample for our needs, plenty of meat and enough vegetables for both of us. The atmosphere and decor was very pleasant, a lot of room to enjoy your meal and not just tables crammed in the get the most out of clientele. Will definitely revisit and try something from the other menu.

Went to Seagers in Gorseinon last night for my dad's 60th birthday and my mams birthday. It's the first time we all went to Seagers and heard good things so thought to give it a try. We all love steaks so thought it will be a good choice.

We are regular visitors to the Grill House, Waunarlwydd where we have never had a bad meal. This however was the first visit to their new restaurant in Gorseinon.

Had a delicious 2 course meal today at Seagers, succulent Lamb Chops which where so tasty I didnt want them to end.

was a frequent visitor to the old Riverside, Today walked in, what a difference, whole place has been transformed, The once seperate rooms now one, modern mixed with old artifacts. Staff well presented and welcoming. Food excellent, prices reasonable. would i go back again, YES

This is a well appointed restaurant on the way into Gorseinon. It has been well refurbished and the place offer typically British fare at lunchtimes. The menu is varied and the party I was with thoroughly enjoyed the beef medallions as a Sunday lunch. My partner and I had the duck with hoi sin. Unfortunately it could have been roasted better and shredded. There were no pancakes and the cucumber was not thin enough. The Hoi Sin sauce was a bit "gritty". If a British oriented restaurant is going to tackle a Chinese favourite, they have to get it right and unfortunately Seagers does not. Having said that Seagers is a nice place in an otherwise culinary dessert.

My wife and I visited as we tend to go for lunch on a Friday as she is off work and the children are in school. She is vegetarian and I'd previously been reluctant to visit in case her choices were limited. We needn't have worried however as she eats fish and there were choices available to her. She opted for Salmon while I chose a 48 day aged Sirloin. We were seated next to the display of Steaks aging which was no problem for my wife but some vegetarians may not wish to sit there, the area isn't visible from all areas of the restaurant however and the staff were so welcoming and accomodating I'm sure sitting elsewhere wouldn't be an issue if you wished. We didn't book but it did get busy as the service continued so I'd recommend booking to avoid disappointment. We were welcomed warmly by the owner and the service was friendly and efficient. Having asked about the aging process for the steaks the owner kindly took the time from a busy service to come over and explain the method used and was friendly and very knowledgeable. He's obviously passionate about the food he provides and cares a great deal about quality and value. The food was stunning, the atmosphere relaxed and welcoming with the restaurant itself light and airy. We found the prices reasonable given the quality and surroundings and will definitely visit again. Definitely a new favourite for us and we look forward to going back soon.

We went there for a family get together and weren't disappointed. Much more modern than layout than the sister restaurant in Pwll this was a slightly different but very good experience. While a more modern restaurant the lovely food and friendly but efficient staff were the same as the Bryn Gwyn. Would happy go again

Tried a few steak houses. But this is the best I've tasted. Miller and Carter you have something to beat. Steak by night just behind Miller and Carter third.

Ate here with my wife the food was a great standard and a decent prices. There was also a great selection of speciality steaks and fresh fish. It was very busy on a Saturday so worth booking ahead.

Six of us all picked from the lunch menu very good selection when the food arrived it was delicious

Missed our usual Valentine's meal as I was ill so booked to try Seagers last night. Were very concerned on arrival as the car park was packed and we were extremely lucky to find a spot in the corner with a queue of cars behind us. On entry were greeted by a smiling gentleman who led us through the crowded restaurant to a lovely extention on the back where we had plenty of room. The menu was fairly extensive and varied and the service was excellent When our meals came the presentation was great and the flavour of the meals the 4 of us had was declicious. The meals were more expensive than our usual eateries but between the quality of the food, the service and ambience we had a lovely meal and would certainly go again particularly for any special occasion.

We were visiting relatives who had booked this restaurant. What a great place. The restaurant itself is immaculate, the staff friendly and professional. We had a gorgeous meal. I was surprised to be given a vegetarian menu as this place is really a restaurant to go for a good steak and I had wrongly thought that I would have one option if I was lucky. Lots of choice for us veggies. My aunt is gluten free and also had a fair amount of choice. Fantastic desserts too. Give the chicolste and orange pot a try. It was delicious. Very reasonably priced.

On entry, we were greeted by the waitress, who offered a table, in an empty restaurant, next to other customers, it was very difficult for my husband to sit there, he has just come out of the hospital after having major heart surgery, and as there was so much room in the restaurant ,requested that we could sit in a little less congested space!!!! It was disgraceful really and we both vowed not to return. To add insult to injury, we had to ask what the lunch-time mixed grill composed of, as it is not described on the menu, ( perhaps Gorseinon people are psychic, we are not!!!) to which she replied " oh, I don't know, oh, sausage, pork and steak I think." I explained to the waitress that my husband has been very ill and hasn't been eating well and that we would share a starter and a meal, 2 courses, to which she patronizingly and in a very condescending manner exclaimed " well! I don't allow that! But I will this time!" Hello, we are 65, not 6!!!!! One of the waitresses was so helpful but everyone else was average. The food was O.K but not cooked with love. There is nowhere for the disabled to park and people were lost as there is no sign of how to enter the restaurant, it is very disorientating. There are so many better places to eat in this world, I am sure the positive reviews are written by very limited life experience reviewers.

Went to this restaurant for the second time this year. This time it was step daughters 18th. The food was amazing and the staff were attentive but not in your face. Can't wait for the next birthday celebration to go again!!! 😍

Absolutely stunning food, if you liked the Seagers in Pwll and Waunarlwydd then your going to love no1 High street. The decor looks really classy and the seating arrangements superb. Each table has plenty of room even for a big group. Service was superb and we were seated promptly to our table. Food arrived quickly and every single steak that was ordered was fitted to perfection. Just as we ordered Alex who served us deserves a pay rise she was excellent. Next time I’m going for the T bone steak as it looked awesome.

This place is becoming addictive ! The food and the service is first class. You cannot miss the lunch menu superb value. I recommend booking well in advance its becoming more difficult to get a table due to popularity. It's great to see a restaurant run properly. Keep up the good work

Very efficient greet and seat, with drinks order swiftly taken. Food was quite enjoyable with excellent service. I would certainly revisit as you get what you see, a good balanced menu well presented. Total cost for a lunch for two £61 including drinks and coffee.

First visit for all 11 diners, from the minute we walked through the door our waiter Kieran was amazing. The decor and atmosphere is excellent, the huge table gave loads of room and due to the high back seating it was as if we were on our own. As mentioned Kieran couldn’t have been more attentive, polite, helpful and informative, an absolute credit to the establishment. Our starters were exquisite and big portions, the main meals were so delicious well cooked and presented, great portion sizes. Deserts were to die for. Definitely will return, can’t wait. Excellent all round.
