Seafood & Grill Restaurant in Suffolk Coastal

Have been to the Brudenell many times and have always enjoyed the visit, and while I understand costs have increased the Brudenell seems to be out of step with many other places. A bottle of wine starts at £26 (red £28) and the puddings £10 going to £14. Other comparable places are not as expensive. Takes a bit of enjoyment off the meal. Wont be going again for a while

From the moment you are greeted here everyone is friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is nicely relaxed. Every memeber of staff goes more than the measured mile to ensure that diners are happy and are enjoying the meal. We were staying at the hotel and dined here for five nights in a row during which we enjoyed a wonderful variety of lovely, sea-fresh fish - Lemon Sole, Skate Wing, Hake, Megrim Sole and Sea Bream. There was also Whitebait to enjoy and, a new favourite, the Salt and Pepper Squid Tapas. A meal here is leisurely as everything is cooked to order - don't expect "instant" service - it is worth the wait. Breakfast is also good and plentiful both hot and cold ... bring a good appetite - portions are generous!

Very enjoyable evening with tasty food. Portions were of a good size. Staff looked after us and had a great sense of humour. Of course the sea view is always amazing.

stayed at the Hotel Brudenell for the weekend and ate in the restaurant on two occasions. Service was excellent, food choice also excellent and restaurant had a lively, friendly atmosphere

I visited the Brudnell hotel for Sunday lunch with friends staying with me from New England in USA, everything was so good, greats service and it was very realaxing and not rushed, wonderful food and drinks, plus great view over looking the sea while we ate

There was 1 girl taking orders and plenty of other staff milling around. 20 minutes later, still not even acknowledged, and it wasnt overly busy, so we left. We spent our money elsewhere

Food was nothing special, overpriced. Staff lack genuine serving skills, bit like here's your dinner and running, no additional requests or checking ok. Bill committed cardinal sin, included items not served, with no opplogies

We had heard good things about this restaurant so decided to book The setting was excellent. We had a table looking out to sea and the menu and specials looked very interesting. Our order was taken promptly and it then took 15 minutes for our soup to arrive. But from the moment our bowls were cleared until the main course arrived was another 40 minutes and during that time not a single member of staff came by to explain what was happening not could we attract anyone's attention. When the mains arrived the halibut was really good but the chips with the battered haddock were just inedible. So disappointing.

Stupendous seafront location and well refurbished. The menu is quite limited, although offers a good range of lunchtime sandwiches and tapas. We thought the specials expensive (£39 for halibut). Basics nicely cooked and presented and my friend’s crab Thermidor was appreciated. We were not overly impressed with the wine list and the service was lacklustre and lacked warmth.

I visited this restaurant on my Birthday. Last week.The restaurant had lovely views and I was looking forward to the experience.My meal was dreadful . I chose the linguine with clams. ( the gluten free version). Spiral pasta arrived with no mention of it not being linguine this could have been fine but the meal had absolutely no flavour whatsoever. I’m pretty sure the clams had been frozen.The staff showed little interest or concern. I explained that I rarely complained. My husband’s crab dish tasted delicious but I was so mortified by my experience I just wanted to leave as soon as he had finished. Really disappointed.

Food excellent, room with sea view lovely but the chairs in the room could do with being higher so you could see the sea better from the window.

We had a light lunch with friends in this restaurant , our waitress was really helpful efficient and kind but the food was indifferent and of poor quality. The tapas were bland greasy and tasteless and the choice of sandwiches and lite bites very limited .

Celebrating my daughters birthday, having eaten here before she chose to eat here again and it did not dissapoint. Food , service, atmosphere and general feeling was great. Nothing to improve on.

Only 1 thing i can say about this place it's not disabled friendly if you are in a wheelchair or mobility scooter they dont cater for you.

Such a disappointment. Crab thermidor was nice but the house salad was only a large helping of mixed leaves. Clam linguine not warm and full of rocket leaves. Service very poor.

Took husband and family for 80th birthday long weekend. Staff couldn't have been more helpful and warm and looked after our group of 11 beautifully. Amazing "golf" birthday cake. Had breakfast on 3 days and dinner on 2 evenings.

Good service poor extremely overpriced food would not recommend. Stayed at the hotel years ago and the food was exceptional, extremely disappointed this time my whole red mullet wasn’t whole and best described as a Portuguese type stew, my wife’s special of the day chicken was dry served with onion rings, a mushroom, half tomato and chips in a bucket al la Chef & Brewer.

We enjoyed the soup and squid at lunchtime but the 2 different fish special dishes we had in the evening lacked flavour and were not enjoyed by either of us.

Really good food, great friendly service and a lovely atmosphere. They have some great wines and are happy to match on the fly or on the menu. You've also got the view if you're on that side of the restaurant. I couldn't honestly knock the experience.

Ate here at lunchtime on my wife's birthday Having dined here two years ago, we knew what to expect and weren't disappointed. No outside table this time but a table with a sea view. My wife had clam linguine and I had fish and chips. Pudding was a shared deconstructed lemon meringue, which was scrummy. Petit fours were served with the inscription 'happy birthday '-a nice touch to finish an excellent meal.

We were resident in the Brudenell Hotel and ate in The Sefood & Grill one evening. The quality of the food was very average. Our starters were Soup of the Day which was excellent but for our Mains I had the Crab which was Ok but my wife chose the Special of the Day which was a Rump steak. At £32 this was very poor, very tough and not well prepared. The service in the restaurant started out very well, but by 8.30pm when we had finished our Mains, there was only 1 other table occupied, and all staff totally disappeared. After about 10 minutes our waitress re-appeared, offered an apology and then took our dessert choices.

We ate at the Grill while guests in the hotel. It was March, so dark when we ate, but even so hearing the breakers crashing on the beach just metres from us created a special atmosphere. It was just a pity that even on a Friday night there were so few others in the restaurant. Being almost in the sea the only thing to have was fish. Lobster bonbons were a great starter, but my mum chose the lamb croquettes with an incredible velvet, creamy pea purée. Amazing. Unfortunately the red mullet signature was not available, but the hake was a great alternative. Everything was cooked perfectly. Unusually the vegetables were almost the star, being full of flavour and cooked to perfection. Personally for me the portion was just too big and the meal might have been better without the potatoes, which nice as they were felt a little overwhelming. Good wine choices, a few by the glass. A special mention to the service, which was friendly, helpful and discrete.

Enjoyable dinner at the Seafood Grill. Some innovative ideas - my wife particularly enjoyed her Beetroot Hash - and some more traditional ones well executed - my crab Thermidor was excellent. Restaurant was a little warm,

It is exhilarating to be so close to the sea. We had a sea view room and dined overlooking the sea, all making for a wonderful experience. The quality of the food was excellent and the waiter entertaining and knowledgeable. We can’t wait to return.

Didn't stay so can't comment on the rooms. Just popped in for coffee. All good. Lovely location.

Stayed for one night for a birthday treat. Very friendly and pleasant staff in all departments. Very nice room with lovely sea view. Chocolates and birthday card a nice treat. Ate in the restaurant which was very nice. Could not fault the food. Also a very good breakfast the following morning with good quality ingredients. Will hope to stay again.

This is a delightful hotel right on the sea front. The atmosphere and ambience is lovely. We ate in the restaurant both evenings and the food was if a very high standard.

Stayed at the Brudenell again for my birthday as per usual a very warm welcome. Room was excellent with a view across the marshland and a comfortable bed. Service in restaurant was excellent and the food was the usual standard. All in all this hotel is very good value for money.

We chose the Brudenell for a special birthday lunch after several delightful past experiences and our decision was fully justified; the whole experience was a pleasure.

Such a shame that the food didn’t live up to our hopes and expectations (expectations based upon the menu pricing). Great location, reasonable atmosphere and decor. It became clear that a number of the items on the menu (not daily specials) are cooked from frozen ingredients, this includes some very expensive cuts of fish. What should have been extremely light and flavoursome was chewy and tasteless. And beware of the cheeseboard - overpriced for literally two thin slices of cheese with even more frozen ingredients - this time the grapes!!

We were staying at the hotel for our tenth wedding anniversary, and choose to eat in the restaurant. The food was great, with very generous portions - I couldn't finish my main, so didn't have a dessert but they sounded great. The service was absolutely great too (, and the cocktails!). Breakfast the next morning was also delicious.

We ordered the cod fish special on Sunday 19th November. The waitress didn't tell us it was £30.00!!!! This was a shock when we got the bill. We were a distance away from the specials board, so we relied on the waitress. Very shocked and disappointed. The dish was OK but nothing special and not worth London or Paris prices. We will not return.

Service was good, food terrible, we had fish and chips, the fish was tasteless, not sure what fish was but cod was not, the peas look awful.

My wife and I had a meal here last night and we were both really disappointed. The service was good and the staff were friendly but the food was poor to say the least. The tiger prawns with Asian slaw - The 3 prawns were overcooked and the asian slaw a child could make better for £14.00 it was awful. Our main meal the seafood pasta again all the seafood was overcooked and no real taste very frustrating and begrudged paying for the meal to be honest. Such a shame as if they could get the food to a reasonable standard they would be onto a winner with the location!

This is our go to place for lunch in Aldeburgh. Decided to stay using their Black Friday package - cream tea, cocktails, sea view room, dinner and breakfast. Staff are amazing - couldn’t fault food or service.

It is always great to have a sea view and a nice cold alcoholic beverage in hand on a hot sunny day right? This place in a perfect location for that! Service was ok, drinks prices were expensive but I guess it is expected being in a prime location in a tourist area. Didn't eat there, again because I thought it was expensive so was put off by the price. Toilets were cleaned to a high standard.
