Sea World - Fish and Chip Shop in Dacorum

18 % price increase in the last week. Taking the p**s or what. Been a regular there for many years, but no more. Prefer not to go back.

Returning back here had fish and chips from here last night and it was amazing. Tasty white fish with lovely batter and not greasy like some fish shops. Lovely chips and great friendly staff and service and quick service. A very enjoyable meal and the best in Hemel Hempstead well worth a visit looking forward to seeing you guys again very soon.

Not the best fish and chips - fish was quite wet with grease and chips soggy. Mushy peas had no flavour and were watery.

We live just round the corner from this chip shop. I don’t buy them often as it’s not the best thing to eat. When I do have them they which is about 6-8 times a year they are always really good. The chips are crispy and never greasy and they always give you loads. The fish is always really tasty with crispy batter. The shop is always really clean and I see them cleaning it really well every night at the end of the evening when I walk my dog. So I know it’s very hygienic. The guys serving are very friendly and it’s always a nice place to get your food.

This is a suburban take-away, mainly for kebabs and fish and chips. They have been here a long time, very reliable and friendly. The fish is great and we’ve tried several other things, only problem is the portions are so big! :) As it is take-away only, has been open during lockdown.

Don’t eat hear. Staff rude. Floor dirty. Chips re fried and rubbish. Didn’t dare try the fish But sausage cold and old. I had to through it away. For your own health Don’t eat hear.

Walked in, ordered, walked out in 3 minutes flat with a very large cod and chips. The food was great, especially the chips, and service was outstanding. Well worth the extra distance we travelled.

After trying all the pubs in the village with no success we ended up here and were totally impressed.

My teen daughter had not eaten any lunch so was very hungry when I picked her up at tea time from her part time job so suggested having fish and chips for dinner. We don't eat fish and chips very often but have always been disappointed by the inedible offerings at other shops in the town so drove further to go here after having good food here on other occasions. We weren't disappointed. I'm a big eater, and usually get the large cod, but as I knew the portions were large, I decided to go for the regular size this time. Thank goodness I did! The fishes were huge, with only a light, crispy batter covering and were non greasy. It was nice that the batter hadn't stuck to the paper when we got our meals home too. The chip portions (We had a regular portion each),were huge too and we struggled to eat it all. Chips were delicious too, crispy, with nice soft centres and non greasy and hardly any thin ones with no substance that we hate. The oil tasted fresh and hot that they were cooked in, even though there was barely any grease at all. I thought they'd given us large portions by mistake as there was enough for 2 in 1 portion! Lovely quick, takeaway meal, and we'll definitely be returning, even though it's not the nearest shop to us.

exceptional quality and very good service. Would definitely recommend this fish and chip restaurant. Chips are like triple cooked ones in a posh restaurant

Portions are good and service is always decent. The chips are usually really nice there too. Would recommend.

This is the place we always go to for Fish and chips. We think they're the best in town. Even people from across town come for their food. You're served quickly. Their chips are always nice, never taste as if they've been cooked in old oil. You can get a large for about 3 people. Their medium cod is huge, no need to get the large. If you have a small appetite then one cos would do 2 people. We often get a doner kebab and they give you a lot of meat. Their lamb shish and chicken shish are also very good. Overall, this is a great place for the family who want different dishes cos they also do burgers etc. Would definitely recommend this place

Good fish and chips. cooked fresh while you wait. Nice portion size. They seem to do everything else from Kebabs to burgers but I have not tried them yet. Parking out front. Open on Sundays

This is our local chippy which we use regularly and earlier in the year the standard had dropped. I'm pleased to say that it's now consistently good again so happy to recommend it.

I hadn’t had fish and chips for years but after a day of decorating and in need of a quick meal we tried this place. Service was quick and friendly. The chips were very good and didn’t get any mushy ones :) but the cod was excellent.

When thi chippy first opened it was superb in every way, by far the best in town! Unfortunately, this year standards appear to have dropped a it. Personally I think it the newer staff not taking as much pride in their produce. Still very good though and would have to deteriorate a lot more before I thought about going else where

Top notch my cod & chips superb 10 out 10 and huge portions. Will go in again when passing best in Hemel.

Chicken perfectly cooked and plenty of it for a large. Salads as usual for a kebab shop were gorgeous! Chips were proper chips none of your thin french fries! Would highly recommend!!

I gave up with them all (as so poor) and now do my own in my fryer wow hundred times better, beer battered cod.

I know it's probably biased but my family has been going down to the Denes for fish and chips for ages. Always getting great and friendly service from the guys and always great food.

This has to be the worst fish and chips. The fish was dry. It must have been standing for a long time. The chips was soggy . Stay away if this his how they serve food.

Went to sea world for the first time last night 25/11/17 walkes in the a very busy and very clean shop impressed i had a combo kebab lamb doner and lamb kofta watched it being freshly made by the friendly staff and couldnt wait to tuck in the service was fantastic and fast, it was time for me to pick my salad and sauce wich looked very fresh and the chilli sauce was just right

Pre ordered for 8 people and arrived to collect at 7pm sharp. As I walked in the box was put on the counter ready to take away. When we opened up the box everything was piping hot.The fish was lightly battered and the chips were big, chunky and absolutely delicious. The eight of us all agreed it was the best fish and chips we had tasted for years.So well done all the staff at sea world for making our evening a most enjoyable one.Highly recommended 10/10

The meals we received arrived freshly cooked hot and fresh, only problem found was very greasy residue, HOW EVER the portions found to be huge. Medium size chips was enough feed two people, over all recommend this place.

I have been using Sea World over the past 6 months, and every time I have had freshly cooked fish...

Good value food, with all the standard fish and chip shop options -cod, haddock, pies, chicken nuggets, chips etc. Pretty quick service, too, so good if you need a meal in a hurry.

My daughter loves this place as the staff always chats to her and gives her a lollypop.The kids are always happy to grab chip or kebab from here.We have been popping in for years and are always happy with the staff and food.

Probably the best fish and chips in hemel, freshly fried to order and proper sized portions, can understandably get a little busy, but thats surely a good sign. Better than a few pieces of dried up fish waiting to be wrapped!

My son and I made two visits. On the first one, we received a fish cake instead of a saveloy, so have sampled between us the saveloy, sausage in batter, cod and one of their pies. Chips are nice (although nothing that special) but everything else was very ordinary. Really cannot see why this place is rated as the best chip shop in Hemel Hempstead. Not for me it's not, and as this place is out of town and required a special visit, we won't be returning.

Always come here the food is amazing and the staff work very hard and do a great job of getting you served to u fast. The food is really fresh and at a good price. Wouldn't go to another kebab shop now :)

Wanted to visit here after good reviews. Ok but found the chips very greasy. Served efficiently and quickly.

The size of the cod is huge. The chips are plenty. Their kebabs are brilliant and very tasty. Even open on Sundays from 3.30pm

The place is spotlessly clean...staff are friendly & efficient & everything is cooked fresh while you wait!Definitely worthy of 5 stars! ☺

This is my local chippy that I use every week. It also sells kebabs, burgers, etc, but I stick to the fish and chips. I've never had a bad takeaway from here and is certainly the best chippy in the area. The fish is thick (no thin fish that curls) and nicely cooked, and the chips are nice and thick and crisp on the outside. Decent size portions and competively priced.Friendly and polite service.

We go here probably more often than we should for the sake of our health, but the food is very tasty and easy. Whilst it may at first seem on the expensive side compared with other chip shops, the portions are very generous. For example, it is not possible to fit a "large" portion of chips on a single dinner plate even when piled, and that is before the remainder of the dish. My wife and I normally share a large cod lot (sometimes also with a battered sausage) and it is always more than enough!

If I want a chippy tea, I use Seaworld. The portions are very good, always tasty, and the chicken shish kebabs that they cook to order are lush!

Very good, people are very friendly and food cooked whilst you wait. My chicken shish kebab had many extras I've never had from a kebab house such as whole chillis. Very big portions well worth a try. Only downside we did not get our onion rings we ordered and paid for.

Staff are very polite and friendly. Best kebabs ever had. Fish is biggest and the batter is out of this world. Seaworld is the best chippy ever.

We used this chip shop as we were staying at the Premier Inn a short walk away but the adjacent Toby Carvery was full to bursting and had run out of food!....

This is the best chip shop I've found in Hemel... The chips are ALWAYS yummy. Portions are big. Also, staff are really friendly :)

Although there is a more local chippy to this one, I always prefer to drive the extra distamnce as the fish here is always so fresh and great value. Portion sizes are good and the service is always with a smile.

The chips here are simply amazing. I am reasonably sure they are triple cooked - and at local prices not Gordon Ramsay prices.Service is friendly, but do be prepared for a short wait as it can get very busy. But it is worth the wait. There is all the usual chip shop fare too - fish, pies, sausages plus they do burgers and kebabs. Good parking outside too - again, be prepared to wait up to 5 mins to get a space (but it is usually a lot faster)

At long last a decent chippy in Hemel Hempstead! The triple cooked chips are a winner. Generous portion sizes and light, non greasy batter. Friendly staff, who cope very well with the steady flow of customers. Please note this is NOT a restaurant, it's takeaway.

Staff are very friendly and food options are great for a takeaway. Burgers / Kebabs and the usual Fish and chips. Curry sauce could be better but food is of a high standard.

We fancied fish n chips, and decided even though it's not on the doorstop, was worth the drive. Really tasty, good portions, worth a visit.

I had to try it after reading these reviews and WOW its absolutely true.The best you will get anywhere. Note the 3 times fried chips in the containers.The manager and staff deserve praise for achieving this high quality,I cant praise them enough.Well done lads.

Fresh cooked each time I come here for our chippy teas! Seem to have steady flow of trade all the time, clearly demonstrating the quality and service. Lovely!

Bought a large order which included: Plaice, Cod, Pies, Savaloy, Jumbo sausage and of course chips. The Plaice was enormous and we had a real feast! Very good chips which are fried three times. There is also a huge range of chicken, Burgers and Kebabs etc.

When i pass here always stop for a bite staff always give great service with a smile value for what you eat

We have been visiting this venue for the last year now and have never had a bad experience, the food is always fresh, portion size value for money and the staff really make out feel like they value your business. Absolutely worth a visit.

This place has the lot, fantastic fish, pies ,kebabs and everything else you'd expect from a chippy, all served in a spotlessly clean environment and by really friendly staff.....I use it all the time and have never been disappointed
