Sea Star Fish Bar in Norwich

Not really gone here often for fish and chips..WON’T be going again..asked for cod and chips , got cold plaice and cold chips and the grease that ran off the paper , disgusting 🤢 Fish cakes and wedges were also cold..all for over £15…Toms is far far better but were closed

We wanted Fish and chips and Read the reviews and although slightly less than the other fish bar in Attleborough not massively so. We were passing and decided to give it a try. Now we went in at 5pm and I ordered 2 x Haddock suppers and was told I would have to wait on the fish. In general this cheers me up in a fish & chip shop as I hate reheated chips. Anyway we got the fish and chips home and the portions were massive! Big tick as the prices were reasonable! Sadly the fish had obviously been put into oil before it was warm enough and the chips were reheats. The fish was so oily that it we couldn’t even risk giving it to the dog. Will definitely never be back

I have been staying with my dad, who is currently on palliative care for lung cancer, and have been visiting this fish bar once a week for the last couple of months with my usual order of two large cod and chips. Last week the chips we received were half what we normally receive and was literally made up of scraps from the fish (batter) and scraps of chips. As we had visitors visit my dad today I visited this establishment again today, hoping that last weeks meal was just a one off, and ordered our usual 2 large cod, a rock eel and a saveloy and two portions of large chips, just in case they were not as good like last week and didn’t want my guests going home hungry. After placing my order, I waited over 25 minutes, which I didn’t mind as it is all cooked fresh. However as he was serving mine up, he checked the order with me and discovered he hadn’t cooked the rock eel. As my visitor was really looking forward to this as they can’t get this fish from where they came from, I was willing to wait for this to be cooked. The guy apologised and offered me fish that had already been cooked. I said that I would wait for the rock to be cooked, he then started back tracking and saying oh he hadn’t cooked it because they didn’t have any which I could tell was not the truth, the truth was he couldn’t be bothered to cook one! So I ordered another saveloy. I mentioned to him I hope the chips are a bit better than last week as they were full of scraps and half thr portion we normally get. His comment was “oh well sometimes we are good and some times we are bad, I couldn’t expect the food to be good all the time”. Well funny enough if I am paying full price for my food I expect it to be good every time and if not then reduce the price to reflect this or make me aware and I will go elsewhere! I got home the cod was all dried up and certainly not a large cod that I paid for. This is now twice we have had a below par food and will not be visiting again and unfortunately if there attitude is that you can’t expect good food every time then unfortunately I could not recommend this fish bar. Attleborough has lots of fish bars so I would suggest you visit one of these with hopefully a better attitude!

Es muy raro que tengamos pescado y papas fritas, pero nuestra visita reciente produjo un pedazo de pescado muy bien cocinado y demasiadas papas pero muy agradable.
