Not very good at all would not visit again

Our family have been using thus business for years. However, last weekend we had a huge order for 20 people. We decided to ring the order through a few days before just in case they needed notice for such a large order. The gentleman who took the order was most unhelpful, telling us that we would have to wait our turn when we came to collect. Fair enough, we weren't looking for special treatment. Put his rudeness down to him maybe having a bad day. The tone of his voice was aggressive, rather than what he said. Anyway, Saturday approached and we went to collect our order. Sure enough we were kept waiting, despite having said we'd be there at 4.30pm. We were greeted with angry face and once the large order had been completed, the gentleman said "amen" in a very rude way. Consequently, they have now lost our custom and we will never buy from this business again.

A great chippy, hot and yummy Tomato ketchup is a bit expensive, bring your own

Fab tasting fish and chips, friendly service and a decent price. What more could you want?

Really good chippy...Great quality fish and chips at a very reasonable price. We had sausage, chips and gravy and a Haddock,chips and peas...both very generous portions for just over £13 for both. Happily recommend you eat there....we will be returning.

Excellent service very friendly staff and clean premises, we travelled from gainsborough especially to this fishshop because we knew it was the best, we had haddock and chips and they was beautiful, my husband doesn't eat many chips but they was so lovely he almost ate them all and what we left we took home for later, we will be returning for more, 👌

Delicious fish and chips as always. Might be a little wait as it's usually busy & things are cooked freshly but worth the wait! Reasonably priced.

Good food reasonably priced good selection of specials

Called in on Thursday 20th June, the wife and daughter were missing fish and chips. Staff were helpful, cooked to order,so a little wait,but we don't mind that. Our meals came to a lot less than our local chippy in Sheffield charges,and the portions double the size of back home. The food was lovely, and we wasted quite a lot of chips,due to being full.

Staying at the haven site next door so decided to give this place a try. Had a sausage special and a small haddock and chips. Both were delicious. Staff were lovely too

The fish was off, batter was very dark and slightly grey, we all commented on how it looked like jacket potatoe skin.. it was about a cm thick and vile.. the fish was very potent smell.. we all binned it! When in the chippy 4 staff all stood looking angry.. no staff were greeting people and being friendly like you’d expect, all were miserable and didn’t acknowledge customers except to ask what they wanted. Quite rude.

Just letting people know they don't sell saveloy. When you order take away just make sure you queue on left otherwise you'll end up standing in the wrong place looking like you've queue jumped 🙄

Just had a sausage, it was bloody wonderful. Definitely recommend.

We had a large varied order, the service was terrible, miserable unpleasant & unhelpful - she stood looking at us despite us being cheerful & courteous. The food was horrendous the worse food I have had in years the revolting undertaste of the chips, the smell was unpleasant and they were Inedible and went in the bin. Had we not driven so far I would've returned them, rotten completely rotten. The fish was off the batter being grey & soggy. As for what was sold as a fishcake, it made me retch. The smell lingered so much we had to take the bin out and open the windows. Rank, do not waste your money.

Batter on fish was so thick, when I opened the wrapping up everything was swimming in fat. All the paper wrapping fell apart from the fat/grease. Fish inside was nice though and chips were nice and chunky but the thick batter and the fat/grease let it down.

Go there quite alot when my family come to stay at the caravan park. Chippy best in area. Very tasty and plenty too.

Unfortunately this place was extremely disappointing! Three of us had fish and chips. When we arrived bk at the caravan to eat and open the paper I knew straight away it wouldn't be nice. The batter on all fish was really dark, the batter was not crispy and full of grease. I'm thinking they just re fry them to keep them hot. Wouldn't recommend sorry.

Very average Order: Regular Fish & Chips (their largest fish) Maybe an off day? But, small for the price, soft odd coloured batter and a small helping of chips. Not much I don’t think for the price paid.

I had been recommended this chippy. I had decided to look it up on Google maps to see the time the chippy closed. I had noted that it was busier than normal, as Google claimed, I got there and it had been empty, two young ladies at the front and then two older men walked out from the back. I had been greeted by both young ladies, I had then got the one behind the till and had wanted a recommendation for the food - I'm not fussy with food, they didn't decide on any food at the time - can't tell if it was nice food or not, they had then got the young lady who, at the time, was cleaning, they recommended large sausage, chips and gravy, I had gone with them (£4,50), the lady doing the till asked if I would like it wrapped or unwrapped and if I wanted salt and vinegar which I had it wrapped and salt and vinegar on, they put the vinegar on. I walked back to the place I was staying at, the food went a little cool due to it being pretty cool out and i had a fair few minutes walk. The food is absolutely lovely, I like it, soft chips and sausage, the gravy looked a little thick which is not to my liking but I have to say that it was really nice. The unfortunate thing about the place was the two men at the back, maybe because I was alone but I felt like I was heavily watched and judged. The food was nice anyway.

Great staff best haddock ever and fair prices .

Loved this chippy for years however visited a few days ago after a while and the food was awful! There was piles of the fish and sausages waiting in the cabinets so when we got the food home. The fish was tiny, dry and a part missing, the chips were dry, the sausage was plain and the peas wasn't much either. Such a shame!

Even on Easter Good Friday, the food was perfect

Got a haddock & chips for myself, the wife had cheeseburger and chips , the lad had jumbo and chips. It was good , batter was nice and crispy , the chips even though I bought them back in a carrier bag they did not sweat, remained lovely. Staff were patient and friendly with me as my son was being a bit of a handful (has learning difficulties)

Thursday 2024 ,12:30 I'm local to this chippy I will never go back fish dry and going off. If I wasn't busy and driven away you would definitely be having it back, what a waste of £10. Inspect your fish before you walk out!

Fish was tastless and batter was soft and mushy

The worst fish and chips I have ever tasted. The batter was greasy and hard. The fish was mushy due to being overcooked. Chips were soggy/greasy, anaemic looking and no taste. Even salt and vinegar didn't help. Very disappointed.

This chip shop used to be really nice and has obviously changed ownership! Fishcake was grey inside and tasted off, batter rock solid and dark, almost like it had been refried - it was revolting and went straight in the bin! Chips ok but not honestly not the best. Staff looked miserable too and struggled to even say hello! I will not return again. Avoid!

Got take away fish and chips which were excellent and the portions were quite generous.

If people would move down to the front it would help more people to get in the shop as its cold outside

Best fish and chips shop ever 😋

We have visited this chip shop for over four years and thoroughly used to look forward to our visits as the fish and chips were exceptionally tasty but unfortunately the past two visits we have been very disappointed in the quality of the food - mainly the fish. The batter wasn’t anywhere near the standard it used to be. I would love this review to hopefully to get a positive reaction from the fish and chip owners so we could start visiting again as again we always enjoyed our trips to the chippy.

Always lovely fish and chips and the girls on the counter are friendly. Didn't have a great experience when we went in the restaurant at the back. The guy who served us quite obviously didn't want to be there, he was miserable and the medium fish was much smaller than we usually get over the counter so we've only done takeaway since then.

As good as ever super white fish 🐠 and tasty chips and large portions. 10/10

Good shop especially if you're willing to walk or have a car

My family tell me the food was great! It certainly looked very nice and a good sized portion. Unfortunately they didn't do anything gluten-free so I couldn't share the meal. The premises were clean and a good standard on entry. The staff where friendly and helpful

Best chippy in cleethorpes, in my opinion. Food is always fresh, never greasy and always piping hot. Portion sizes are always good.

Excellent lunch last Sunday, and today sat outside as it was warm enough. husband had pie chips and curry last week and the same this week I had sausage chips and curry and fishcake chips and curry this week our dog had a sausage to lovely meal at a great price to. well recommend to anyone not sure what they cook chips in but are fantastic not greasy. Sometimes it pays to travel to get better we travelled from barton .

Bought 2 small haddock for £7 . Almost inedible. Concrete batter and dried up fish. Presume they'd been kept warm for quite a while. I shall never go there again.

As a family we were staying at the caravan park next door and due to poor weather we thought we would treat ourselves to some fish and chips as you can’t not have them when at the seaside! Prices were reasonable, lots of chips provided and nice ones too which can be unusual for a chippy! Fish was edible however would probably say average at best just due to the fact it had the skin on and the batter was quite hard.

Fish and sausages were nice when you eventually got through the hard, dark and overcooked batter. Won't be going back which is a shame as it was the nearest chippy to the caravan site 😞

Small and medium chip portions are the same and you can literally count the chips that's the tiny portions you get! Extremely tight... Feel ripped off... never again

If you want soggy dark coloured batter with your fish and raw chips, then this is the place for you! Also I don't think I'll need to buy my partner lip gloss for a year due to the amount of grease that comes off the batter. Although cheap, worst fish and chips ever.

Great food every time we visit. We hadn't been for some time having moved away from the area, but we wasn't disappointed, the food was lovely as usual.

Absolutely shocking. Fish was soaked in grease to the point of the batter being like slush Chips anaemic as you like resembled soggy slugs! Service shocking and forgotten scraps. Never again!!!

Ordered 3 fish and chips, battered sausage fish was overcooked far to hard, chips were good and sausage, curry sauce decent, staff friendly clean inside, some seating outside and a restaurant as well, we had takeaway and sat outside.

Got to say nice fresh food ,good value for money,better quality and price than the caravan park,also the staff are a real credit to owner welcoming and friendly service will be back,the batted cheese burger is a much try

This is our favourite chippy, we come across town just to go here. Food is lovely and not overpriced.

Used to be great fish and chips.since COVID fish is awful greasy overcooked dark brown nearly inedible rubbish! Be careful if you have a takeout. The brown grease runs everywhere. so disappointed. Used to be best in Cleethorpes. Going to Waltham chippie in future. Best in the area!

2 X fish chips and peas, the fish batter oil desperately needs changing! The batter is the darkest brown absolutely steeped in grease!. Shame, won't be back for any more.

Approximately 1800hrs 12th July i waited until been served,which then i ordered fish chips and peas,cost a total of £8 sorry to say mushy chips the fish batter was hard not nice at all went in the bin,never again

Had fish and Chips there many times normally good. Called in at lunchtime today picked up fish and chips. They were awful. Batter was hard and greasy when I managed to break through the batter the fish was shrivelled and dry. Had I has time I would have taken them. Lesson learned never again

The person attitude is the worst I have have seen in my whole my we went in there at 7:30 he said all fryers are turned off I said you say on the door that you close at 8:00 o’clock he said I do not care we had a order for about £50.00 and there was another order behind me who’s would have hit about £70:00 this company does not want the business there are plenty of chip shops who need the money

Called in at 7.35 pm for 7 orders for fish and chips only to be told abruptly after waiting 10 minutes that we might not get all our chips as he wasn't going to cook anymore chips because he shuts at 8.00 pm ,there was more customers behind us too , needless to say we won't be going back

Pie peas and chips this particular monday afternoon last week the 15th may can only be described as a sheer quality ooozed with delicious cooked just right full of flavour. its a meal to remember which means am having to travel there 74 miles in the near future just for another meal.
