A little expensive but good food and service

The price is the only thing I would have an issue with. Pretty expensive for a breakfast. When places not far away you get more for less.

Possibly my favourite local cafe. A lot of variety at good prices.

Nice view of the sea. Busy Sunday afternoon, queued for about 15-20 mins, friendly polite staff. Lovely large portion of food. Will definitely go back

Very popular place, amazing sea front location and views, free parking too. Due to it's popularity it's very busy and noisey. The food is absolutely lovely so leave plenty of time for your visit .

They have improved the system to get food but as I wasn't aware all tables had numbers I had to let them know where I was sitting . I had smashed avocado and smoked salmon with tomatos

Had 2 breakfasts and 1 eggs on toast with bacon. The eggs on toast was forgotten and arrived after the breakfasts had been eaten. Was charged £5 for 2 rashers of bacon although the menu said it was £2.30 per rasher. Was told the price had gone up to £2.50 per rasher & no refund offered. Poor service, extortionate price.

Visited sea lane cafe a few times over the years and every time it never fails to impress. Food is always excellent, great service and amazing views. Has been recently refurbished so now even better! Really love this place, would really recommend.

Lovely cafe that we used to visit 45 years ago. Plenty of seating under cover, in the main cafe and on the beach. Hot chocolate was lovely. Scones and teacakes are enormous. This is a very popular place so you may well have to wait for a table. Car park is not very big but there is parking on the street. Highly recommended.

Mum and I came here for breakfast. We got here early and it was already busy but, because there is plenty of seating split between upstairs indoor, downstairs in the covered terrace area and outside (almost on the beach!) it didn't feel busy. My breakfast was lovely. Yes ..it's expensive compared with other venues, but I knew to expect it when I visited, and eating your breakfast with a sea view is something a bit special. Service was great - we didn't have to wait long for our food. Mum has been visiting here for years and it was really nice to see her being acknowledged by the lovely lady who served us.

Came for breakfast with a couple of colleagues, cannot fault a thing, excellently cooked and quick to arrive even though it was very busy (as always), get in early or be prepared to wait, no table service so you have to queue.

Love it here. It is usually REALLY busy, sometimes you can struggle to find a table. Shows you how good this place is. Well worth the wait. Food is so good.

Overpriced for no reason whatsoever and slow

Great place for breakfast, lunch or coffee and cake.. fantastic choice and good size portions.. with great scenery across the beach.. very popular, so expect to queue over busy periods, but worth it!

Prime position on the beach with great sea vistas, bright and cosy on a chilly day, with prompt service and a hearty menu.

We've been going to Sealane cafe for nearly 20 years, food has always been good however we went last Friday 18th April 2025 and I ordered a sausage bacon and egg sandwich. I had 1 sausage, 2 bits of bacon which had been heated but not cooked and 1 egg which was cooked so long it was solid, and was charged nearly £10 for the privilege. Total rip off, disgusting food, wouldn't go back again.

We have always enjoyed coming to the Sealane cafe but the prices have got up and the portions gone down!! The staff could also do with some customer service training and the toilets are horrible!!!

Probably the worst cup of tea I have tasted for a long time. The colour of dish water and probably the same taste. I hastened home to make myself a decent cuppa!

Lovely position & view. Expensive for the amount of food you get. When ordering from the set menu I asked for one item to not be included as I am allergic to it & no offer for substitute or reduction in cost. Coffee was luke warm.

Came for cake, left after being advised a slice was £6. I've always liked Sea Lane, unfortunately their prices are beyond what I feel is reasonable.

The food is delicious and there is always a lovely view of the sea. It is best to come around 11 or at 2 because 12 and 1 are always really busy. It’s a lovely place to have lunch after a walk in the beach highly recommend.

took 30 minutes for ONE bland ham and cheese toastie. waiting 30 minutes for 1 sandwich is a joke and for it not to be very nice

DO NOT EAT HERE!! To say my visit her today has ruined my day is an understatement. Hideous food, which I am now fearing may have given me and the family food poisoning. The cod and chips was horrid and tasted off and certainly not like any cod i've had before. View nice, but im affraid that is as far as it goes.

Been visiting the sea lane for many year at the end of a long bike ride. Today was disappointed at the lack of gluten free options where before there was more choices. Used to be able to get fish with no batter which is no longer available.

Gluten free options are very limited and from other reviews best to avoid. In the past they have been accommodating and provided fish option without batter but they are now "too busy" to cater for this so we came away hungry. With the usual long queues, long wait times and overpriced food, we had a lucky escape

Great place to sit and watch the world go by. Great food, free parking. Right on the beach, inside and outside seating. Kite surfing, A real gem. Very nice puddings

We visited our usual haunt after a trip down to Goring for a relaxing stroll. Decided on some brunch and as always 10/10. The bacon, sausage and Halumi Brioche bun (x2) was AMAZING had chips too - to share of course!. Why not! As normal, the quality is 'on point'. It's always busy but not overcrowded, and seating outside is always available. Couldn't resist a further visit after our walk to Worthing Pier for a slice of white chocolate and strawberry cake with a cup of tea, before our drive home. Cakes and pastries are exceptional! Quick, efficient, good value considering the excellent quality. Couldn't fault.

Came here for lunch today and won’t be the last! I work in hospitality too and I am impressed how the staff handled my situation today , as I have very strict dietary restrictions . I have ordered one dish that looked and tasted amazing but unfortunately had pepper in it as it should be, my bad I didn’t check and when I double checked with one of the staff, they basically went above my expectations and replaced the dish with something suitable for me Great job guys , this is how hospitality suppose to be , thank you Professional and really nice staff, many choices and well organised

What a lovely extension on the front of the cafe. Great coffee and great treats. Dogs enjoyed themselves too.

Started coming here for breakfast before work. The quality of the food served is very good. However it is on the pricey side. At almost £7 for sausage bap and £3.20 for a small coffee.. Breakfast here will need to be a treat as opposed to an everyday occurrence. But still. The quality is good.

Brilliant café! Great service and amazing scones - no wonder it was so busy on Sunday!

Two friends and my partner went and everyone ordered coffee. I don't like it but they said it was amazing. It is right on the beach and has a covered terrace for the rain, another plus point. On sunny days I would definitely recommend going to this place as it is peaceful. I leave you a video of the area.

It's always busy here with the café placed right by the beach. Excellent menu choice Reasonable value and food quality is good. Although the bacon i had was the saltiest I've ever had. The cakes on offer are huge. New covered outdoor area.There's a free carpark. Step free access also.

Has been serving a good standard of food at reasonable prices for some time and this is still the case. Attractive location on seafront now enhanced with extra capacity afforded by the recent front addition. This glazed area is heated and replaces the former 'Tent' allowing more comfortable seating and a better seaview. NB unlike most restaurant enlargement projects the seating plan allows some space between diners. No need to synchronise your elbow movement with the people on the next table!

Now this place is a proper good find.Weekends it can get busy but you can see why.Loads to choose,from cakes,hot food and drink and sandwich's. Trust me,when you see the cakes you wont resist..All in all a great place right next to the beach.😁👍

Having eaten at this restaurant many times over the last two and a half years, it was disappointing to find oneself being blamed by the staff for their error in serving what I asked for. Toffee Sponge was clearly so labelled in the chiller, and I ordered it with ice cream. To my surprise a hot sticky toffee pudding was brought to the table. The young waiter didn't seem able to understand the difference between the two dishes and he soon had the manageress at my table. She was defensive from the outset and had to be shown the labelled Toffee Sponge in the chiller, and even then she ungraciously declined to acknowledge their mistake. It's always disappointing when a favourite restaurant starts failing to live up to ones past happy experiences. Other diners were also rather startled by the staff attitudes as no attempt was made by them to discuss it quietly. The food, as always, was excellent and reasonably priced. As ever, the restaurant was very busy with much pressure on tables.

The Sea Lane Cafe is in a lovely spot on the coastal path and there is a free car park alongside. You can eat in or outside (enjoying the view). The inside is on two levels and the establishment is dog friendly. There is also a little takeaway window if you prefer. There are not a lot of vegetation options on the menu, but the cakes look good and tasty. Their breakfast menu finishes at 11.30am. It appears to be a very popular establishment and therefore crowded, with many waiting for a free table. When we went there was a long queue for the counter, which eventually snaked back to the door. It was really unfortunate that the service is so slow. In the end we decided just to have a pastry and coffee rather than wait for anything cooked.

Recently improved the outdoor seating area, the new conservatory is great.

Really lovely food - they do takeaway and eat in. Inside restaurant plus a kiosk. Dog friendly which is lovely. Been here several times when walking the dog - always a wee bit chaotic inside but that's probably because it's so popular with visitors and locals.

WOW! We went for a day out to Worthing, on Monday 11th February 2025, as we had been there numerous times before and had always enjoyed our visits. In particular, we enjoyed each time the Sea Lane Cafe experience. The Staff there are extremely welcoming and professional and their products are very enjoyable. Today however, our whole day out was spoiled by an unfortunate incident, whereby, on returning to our car to drive home (more than 60 miles) I realised that the car keys, somehow, had dropped out of my pocket during our walk along the pebble beach. We both searched and searched and also requested the help of passing dog walkers. We could not find the keys and were therefore stranded with little time to resolve the problem before dark. Having bought Gold car insurance cover I thought that we should be able to ask for some help from them - not a breakdown as such, but the effect was the same - stranded miles from home with a working car but no keys. Problems contacting the correct department within the insurance company, compounded by the cooler weather prolonged the upsetting episode. The insurance company's best suggestion was for us to call out a local locksmith. The Gold cover did not cover this situation... We went back into the Sea Lane Cafe and explained the problem. Jenny, one of their Staff used her telephone to locate a local locksmith who said he could help but it would take a further couple of hours wait before he could get to us. We were grateful for any help and went back into the cafe to keep warm. The Staff there were so kind and empathetic and a lady with a bun hair style brought us a couple of coffees as we were cold and very worried. Two other staff members felt sorry for us and decided to give it one last try before their working day finished. They took time out to hunt along the beach for our keys and at about 4 45 pm, one of those Staff - Maria - found the keys!!! She waved to us, joyfully, from the beach and we in turn were even more joyful! Thanks to Maria and Jenny and all of the lovely Sea Lane Cafe Staff we were able to eventually drive home. The locksmith had not finished his previous job and was grateful for our cancellation call as he was already very busy and was squeezing us in, as we were struggling. We are so grateful for such unexpected kindness and consideration, as without that we should have had a lot of time and trouble and of course expense in replacing our bunch of car keys and house keys. A constructive lesson has been learned however and we have now purchased Air Tag key finders to avoid anything like this happening again. Our heartfelt thanks to Maria and Jenny and all of the Staff who helped to make our day considerably better than it had been. The Sea Lane Cafe has wonderful food but the "icing on the cake" is their incredible Staff. Maria, Jenny, and the lovely lady with the bun hairstyle are Angels - and we shall never forget them. We wish them all continued and deserved success in their business and look forward to our next visit there - when we shall have Air Tags, just in case :)

My friend had the Cod and Chips with garnish! He might have dementia; but he's got a fabulous appetite! I had the bacon, brie and cranberry toasted ciabatta. Delish!

This place is great for all times of the day. I generally come for a breakfast. It's a bit expensive, but you get what you pay for!

Always too busy! Massive queues all the time. Overpriced now as well. 2 years ago and entirely different experience. I feel now they are overpricing, their kitchen cannot cope with the amount of extra seating they have had built in and wait times and prices have suffered. Shall be visiting the ones further East and West from now on.

Such an amazing cafe with a view and super dog friendly. I think every other table had a dog, which was lovely. I had a latte and a bacon butty, both were hot and delicious.

Great food with super sea views

A lovely cafe that reinvented itself during the lockdown into a destination location for nice, reasonably priced food and drink when on the coast with the family, dogs or in my case I've even held business meetings there! It can get a little crowded and noisy at times and service suffers during those periods but pick your moment to visit and its plain sailing! A very casual place, more suited to wellington boots and dry robes than heels and glamour. There are free public toilets around the back of the building, and a little window selling take out food and ice cream for those on the move.

Food is good, decent. New extension has been added which means the queues on weekends and peak times to purchase food/drink was down the stairs and to the door. Queue went quite quick. Demand for tables was high so luck of the draw with finding somewhere to sit. Dog friendly. Lots of cakes although the selection went down fast. Found the coffee cake a little dry but have had other cakes there which were nice. Water available separately.

Ugly building, but great views, food and staff. As close as it can be to the beach without building on the shingle. 2025 update. Extended, giving more space in inclement weather, without spoiling the view and even improves exterior appearance. Well done

The new covered outdoor area is very nice and a great improvement. There are new tables and chairs and great views. Downside on our visit there were a lot of dogs in that area and some were barking and yapping so I won't be rushing back. Great though if you are a dog lover and want somewhere you can go with your dog.

I ordered the sea lane breakfast special, 1 egg, 2 sausage, 2 bacon, 2 hash browns, deep fried mushrooms I hate deep fried, 2 halves tom, beans, and a slice of buttered toast. Appart from the mushrooms this was cooked really well with the sausage being premium, but with a pot of tea this came in at a wopping £17.20, I honestly feel the price was too much, especially when tullys farm a over priced venue does exactly the same with hot drinks inc for £9.99 and just as good. Trading on a good name has pushed thuis venue above its price point.

We visited Sea Lane Cafe last Friday ,the coffee wasn't very hot neither was my friend's hot chocolate ,they were served without saucers. The scones were ok but abit stodgy, would have been better warm? Also it was very noisy!!! We won't be rushing back !!!

Fantastic cafe right on the beach. The refurb is excellent! Plenty of seating and nice new indoor extension. Had a whopper piece of carrot cake and it was delicious

Absolutely first class outing today at Sea Lane cafe. Lunch was delicious, great coffee and the service, well they are simply the friendliest staff I've found anywhere. They're a credit. This is now my favourite place to go. Not to mention the views and a new extension that opened today. Also fast service despite being busy. Highly recommend ☆☆☆

One of my favourite places on the south coast , right on the beach great to people watch . Lots of wonderful staff always super helpful, dog friendly inside and out . Great selection of food , great quality. New out side eating area now more permanently covered a great addition.

What lovely people. Very busy but still had time to make our lunch enjoyable. Beef burgers were great, not many jalapeños in mine, when mentioned they popped out with a ramekin full. Genuinely nice staff, not just a service smile, Tables are a little canteen like, I'll definitely be going back, cakes look amazing, but we were full, Good portions.

Went for a lovely long walk with friend and their dog... stopped along the way. Major building work going on at present. Looking forward to seeing when extensions are complete.

Gets very busy, but they employ plenty of staff. Wide choice of food, I think, but a fry up and coffee sitting at the edge of the beach is near heaven.
