Sea Fresh - Fish and Chips Shops in Richmond upon Thames

I used to use this Sea Fresh Fish & Chip shop under the previous owner & it was absolutely fine; he got his fish from Sandy’s in Twickenham & that’s always a head start; I first used this just after the new owners took over & it was dreadful! However my now normal Fish & Chip shop is the Carp & Trout in Hampton Hill high street so I drive there from Twickenham; which is very good & Traditional fish & chip shop very good all round; however I’d just missed it as was closed at 10pm As fish & chips was what I fancied I drove back into Twickenham & thought let’s give Sea Fresh a 2nd Try; I truly wish I had not as it’s gone from dreadful to absolutely Dire; The fish was dry & tasteless & covered in thick over-crisped batter & the chips were no better so crisp that it was just crunch & most had no potato they were literally like walkers crops! I’m not normally one to write bad reviews but tonight I just had to speak of my experience of this establishment; I was going to just throw what was left in the bin but I got in my car & went back & explained to the owner (apparently) how dreadful was what they had just served me & told them it was the worst fish & chips I’d ever tasted anywhere! I do have an idea about good customer service & serving up fresh & appetising food as I’ve owned catering companies myself; As I’d Eaten most of the fish but had cut away the whole of the rear thick batter I decided not to demand a refund or accept anything off of them; All I I would suggest or advise is if you like fresh fish & chips & your chips to actually have potato in them I’d recommend that you give Sea Fresh a swerve because if you had what I had tonight you’d be disappointed & probably be straight on Trip Advisor or just throw it away & vow never to return again Until I had my fish & chips I’d had a nice evening but that has now changed as I type my view here! There’s a saying once bitten twice shy there won’t be a third time!

Fish batter was greasy and tasteless. The chips were small and hard. I thought it was a one off but has happened second time round. Never again. Since the takeover, it's gone downhill. Do not recommend!

My mother-in-law was treated very badly. Was made to wait, as white customers were given priority. White customers who came after were served first, and she was served only after all whites were served. When she was finally served she was given the burnt crumbs left in the frier.

STILL THE BEST FISH AND CHIPS IN THE AREA.....WE HAVE TRIED THE OTHERS AROUND HERE, AND THIS IS THE NUMBER ONE, FOR QUALITY, PRICE, PORTION CONTROL, AND, THE FRIENDLY STAFF. TRY IT.....

Great atmosphere as tastefully decorated and good lighting . Circular tables available which is great for groups of friends or family. Chairs a bit tatty now. . Lovely staff. Food extremely tasty and great selection . All served perfectly hot .

This place has been a weekly visit for us since 2020 and it is always been a pleasure.The prices and portions are good.The food is always crispy and tasty..and Mo and the staff are always very cheerful and friendly...I highly recommend Seafresh.

Mushy peas weren't sealed so had to scoop them out of the bag. Otherwise food is excellent but the prices have risen to the point where we will have to consider other more competitively priced alternatives (which is a shame as the batter at sea fresh is the best I've ever come across)

Great fish and chips everytime! Chips dry and slightly crunchy not at all greasy, fish tasty. Great value for money, and the portion sizes are generous! The place is clean and friendly!

The order was over two hours late. There was no option to cancel on the app. I had to order from another company. I cannot get through to anyone on Just Eat to get a refund. Extremely poor customer service.

Food came hot, I’m almost certain they cooked everything fresh Ordered: 3 battered sausages 2 fish cakes 1 large chips 1 veg spring roll 1 curry sauce EVERY single item was cooked well and the batter on the sausages was crispy when eaten as opposed to soggy at many other places. And the thing that made me write this review apart from the good food was the attention to detail when reading my order notes for extra salt and vinegar and lots of mayo on the chips. They gave lots and lots of sachets of vinegar and salt and this is why all the food wasn’t soggy as other chippy deliveries seem to always come a bit soggy when ordering extra vinegar Really appreciate your generosity with so many sachets, nowadays it’s hard to get more than one single tissue and a single sachet of sauce and salt when asking for those things so it’s very much appreciated

I had a fantastic take away from here last week, with the best chips ever.. I decided to have the same again last night. Oh dear. Both the fish and the chips were very dried out and very far from the great meal I'd had the previous week. I couldn't believe it was the same restaurant. What happened? Was the chef on holiday? I need to think twice before trying again.

Disappointed it’s not the best word to use for this place. Never received the order and had been charged for it. When called them they said that it was none of their business as the driver took the food from them. Never received a refund. Very rude and unprofessional.

Food always delivered early, food not greasy. Delivery driver always friendly and polite.

Took driver 40 mins to deliver my food however its like 15 mins drive, he didnt follow instruction given and was demanding that i will come and collect food from the place where he parked and after i refused it took him another 10 mins to arrive. Chips where soft from being wrapped to long and coleslaw was all over the bag instead in the box. Worst experience ever.

Way too fatty, even for battered fried fish. Also, and this a wee thing, but the ketchup that came with our order seemed odd, like it was red dye chemically goodness. The chips weren't great either :(

Overpriced for what you get they dont even offer fish and chips as a meal you pay seperate for both which is overpriced

Absolutely disgusting behaviour from the restaurant. As a disabled person I was treated with absolute Disrespect and shouted at down the phone when I called to enquire about my order. I am disabled and cannot walk long periods of time due to my condition which makes me pass out if my heart pumps blood too quickly. When I gave these morons my address he said "you live close, come and get it yourself." it may only be 10 minutes in the car but as a none driver due to seizures and my condition this is about a 25/30 MI ute walk either way, at 9.pm Having listened back to the call, as I recorded it, he told me two times to go and get it myself, even after I told them I am disabled. The attitude was revolting and I was left feeling humiliated, defeated and upset. They tried to make out that I was just lazy and this isn't the case. We have started using Mr Cod now which is much friendlier and the food is better to. Myself and my friends all stopped using Sea Fresh as a result of their behaviour.

Quick delivery, friendly driver and delicious food.

The people in this shop are absolutely disgusting and bullied a disabled woman who was unable to get to the shop to get her takeout. When the food didn't arrive, we called up the restaurant. They said I had clicked "collection" not "delivery", which has never happened before in all the time I've been ordering. They asked me rudely what my post code is and when I told him he said "you live close, come and get it." I again explained I can't, I'm disabled and can't get there (it's actually not that Close its about a like and I don't have a car) and he put me onto his manager. He obviously told the manager I "live close" and he came on the phone and said "why don't you just come and pick it up? It made me feel really embarrassed and humiliated because they were implying that I am just lazy. When I said I felt I need to complain to Just Eat he said," go ahead lady" and hung up the phone. We also think that the management MIGHT have changed. Last time we did get food there it wasn't as nice but we were willing to give it a chance. We now use Mr Cod which is way nicer, cheaper but better quality. I would suggest using someone else. This company is so rude and discriminating.

This shop is horrendous. We HAVE ordered before and found it OK but we didn't receive our order and they said I clicked collect which I didn't. Called them up and they were SO rude. I'm disabled and was trying to explain. They said "you are close come and collect." I said we can't. They are horrible people and Nims is better and nicer to.

Bit disappointed in the food quality today, this is usually my favourite fish place and usually comes hot and fresh, but today it all come luke warm and wasn’t as nice as usual, hoping it was a one off and be back to it’s normal tastiness next time
