Sea Fish in Blackpool

A very lovely atmosphere, spotlessly clean, delicious food that is great value for money. The staff are very welcoming. Would recommend and will be my new favourite in Blackpool!

Unhygienic! Food was covered with dead flies!!!! There were also several flies flying around the restaurant. Demanded a refund and left. AVOID!!!

Three of us visited the restaurant. Didn’t have any fish pie at £7.70. Had large fish, chips and peas instead. So cost nearly £18 including a cup of tea. None of us could understand the prices from the man serving us…despite us trying to follow the menu. It was difficult to understand how the fish, chip and peas price was worked out…because of the servers explanation. We all got frustrated and confused, including the man serving us. Then confusion about whether one of us had ordered a cup of tea because there were no receipts issued and the server appeared disgruntled when we asked for our teas. My friend ordered Pie, Chips and Peas….which we thought were good value at £8.00 although the chips were pale and soggy and lacked flavour. My other friend ordered a chicken burger and chips…burger was bland and tasteless and chips pale, soggy and tasteless and the burger bun was not toasted so she left almost all of it and brought a snack elsewhere afterwards. We felt very unwelcome whilst eating our meals due to all the confusion and language barrier when we were ordering. Not a good experience and would not recommend this restaurant. The restaurant looks plush but a total let down by poor service and tasteless food.

Went in for lunch we all thoroughly enjoyed the fish & chips, pie & chips & fish burger we ordered. Only went here because papas was closed for some reason on a Saturday afternoon!! Went for the large cod and chips and when it arrived it looked ok but little suspicious because fish came in 2 separate pieces!! Top piece was lovely nice white fish big flakes nice batter !! But sat underneath was completely the opposite horrible grey coloured fish in soggy batter and tasted funny must have been frozen not nice at all very overpriced for one nice piece of fish and the other horrible

The meal we had we just so My friend had ( home made ) meat and potato pie , chips, and gravy I had batters ( jumbo ) sausage chips and gravy The pie wasn't home made , like it said on the bill board My sausage was not like I have in the past frm other places , the sausage was generic no taste or flavour The lady who was on duty was nice and friendly and helpful she is given 4 stars , the food 2 stars I went to the toilet was clean and even a notice saying that the toilet will b checked every hour

Absolutely delicious! Visited on a blustery Tuesday and was greeted by a lovely lady. Food was cooked fresh while we waited and very reasonably priced. The food was tasty and dry not at all greasy like you sometimes get with freshly cooked fish and chips. Would happily come back next time we visit.

Being local we've been to eat here before, the food was freshly prepared, and the service good... what went wrong.. ? Monday lunchtime called in, which is quiet with holiday makers. Only 2 other families and one lady on her own, I Ordered fish,chips,peas and veggie burger and chips... after a good while, they arrived in a polystyrene takeaway container along with 2 horrible coffee's in disposable cups. The bill was just short of £25. They gave us a Chicken burger... so back it went... 10 minutes later it arrived, by which time the other meal was goung cold.. I said "It is a veggie burger?" The young guy just threw it on the table and gruffly said "yeah"... no sorry you've had to wait, nothing.. The food was actually nice, (when it arrived correctly) but the attention to detail, the staff training, and polystyrene boxes for the money, absolutely terrible... Back to Yorkshire Fisheries for us.

We all had small cod and chips, but one of us had the fish bites, what can I say, stunning food and amazing value. Service was great, would highly recommend, thank you.

There was a good choice on the menu, we found the staff friendly, the food arrived in good time and was tasty, there was plenty of chips on all our plates. Do take your receipt and check it, as we were overcharged, but got a refund when we brought it to their notice

We have been here before and love this chip restaurant. We are both vegetarian, so I had chips and peas and my daughter had chips and curry sauce, we both had a mug of tea as well. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meal, the best chips we’ve had in ages. We were there before we went to an event at The Winter Gardens and it was so handy where it was situated. The restaurant was exceptionally clean and we were very impressed by the cleanliness of the toilets. We didn’t use the menu but there seemed to be a large menu available.

This is a real fish and chip takeaway and dine in very clean dining area and freshly cooked cod and chips really tasty awesome light batter on the fish Would definitely recommend

In Blackpool there is obviously an abundance of fish and chip restaurants, but finding a gem amongst all the rough is a little more challenging. However, after a lengthy walk around the town we settled on 'The Sea Fish & Chip Restaurant' for our lunchtime meal. What a little gem of a restaurant, it was clean and tidy, spacious and welcoming. Simply find a seat, go place your order and wait for table service. The food arrived promptly, hot and tasty with neither the fish or the chips being too oily or greasy, which shows the kitchen are paying attention. The staff were very friendly to locals and visitors alike which helped to make us feel welcomed and comfortable. Toilets - now this is where 90% of restaurants and particularly pubs fall down, however I have to say that I was particularly impressed with the cleanliness and facilities provided here. Excellent work and just goes to show that clean toilets can be maintained - shame on the rest of you!

What a find, town centre location. Amazing quality, and value food. Very friendly staff and very clean. Two large fish and chips, one mushy peas, two coffees and a coke. Change from £30. Sauces are proper Heinz and everything was just perfect. Not your usual tourist trap of overpriced slop. Far better than Harry Ramsden. The fish was flaky and pure white, batter was crispy and everything was fresh. Please go and support this awesome restaurant .

We were staying not far away at the premier Inn looking for something quick and not far for any 85 year old dad to walk. We got a very warm welcome order taken in moments waited less than ten minutes for food . Fresh and amazing great value with top class service.

I have been to this restaurant many times and always have the Pensioners special, which includes Fish and Chips, one slice of bread and butter and a cup of tea. The price has gone up as it has in most restaurants to £8-70 which is still not bad, but i remember when it was £5-00 and you could have coffee if you wanted instead of tea in those days. The Fish is freshly cooked and the portions are good. The taste is also very nice. The staff are friendly. You order at the counter and pay, cash only, as the card machine has been out of action for what seems like the past hundred years. You have to have Fish and Chips when in Blackpool at least once if not more and this place or should that be plaice is a good choice.

Had a chippy tea here before a show at the Opera House and it was expensive as expected in a town centre! It was clean and idy though which is a big plus. I enjoyed my fish and chips but the plates are tiny - meaning instead of having fish chips and peas on my plate, the peas were served in a bowl and I had to keep making room on my plate to ut the peas on a bit at a time. It would have been far easier to serve on a bigger plate with all the food together. However still a tasty meal.

HUGE! This is a 'VERY SMALL' fish and chips! I couldn't eat it all. The flavour was the best I have ever tasted and the lemon wedge was very large too. Extremely good value for money and will be returning as soon as possible. The place is spotless and very well run.

We came here after a dreadful experience at another 'restaurant' (I'd call it a circus) after waiting over an hour to be seated our diabetic mum began to feel really unwell we decided we wouldn't stay and left to go to the nearest restaurant which happened to be 'the sea' we told the guy behind the till of our ordeal and he immediately asked if mum wanted something quick to nibble on while we looked at the menu! She was given a glass of water and the staff were delightful! I can't rate this restaurant highly enough! More than that the food was beautiful!!! I couldn't eat all of mine it was delicious! An absolutely excellent restaurant we will be returning! Sorry for our mum's mobility scooter crashing into the table!!!! 🙈 we will be back next year!! Thank you for looking after us

Had a meal here with my family on a day out. We were served everything disposable… the boxes, cups and cutlery which we were happy about as this is the safer option for both us and their staff. The young lady on the till was very polite and helpful. We were brought our drinks and cutlery. We could see the chef preping and cooking our food as we sat talking. Food was brought to the table freshly cooked and piping hot. Absolutely delicious. We will all be returning.

Food was delicious and an extremely large portion. We had the seafood basket, okay it wasn't served in a basket but didn't matter. It wasn't greasy, the batter lovely golden and crispy. Calamari soft to eat and not like rubber like a lot of chippies. Gotta try the wonderful range of milkshakes, I had the black cherry one after a long time trying to decide which one to choose. Looking forward to going back to Blackpool (whilst visiting my son) and straight to Sea Fish for a guaranteed great basket meal.

The cafe was spotless the floors and the tables looked as though they had just been cleaned. The man taking orders was polite and helpful.Probably the best fish and chips I have ever had one of our grandsons had sausage and the other had a large fish cake which came with lemon chips and salad. My husband who nearly always has fish and chips when we go out agreed that they were the best fish and chips he had tasted. The prices were a lot better than anywhere else we saw in Blackpool.

Made my order and ask for two fish and chips one small other large and a cup of tea and gingerbread latte. But sever gave me ginger beer and said eight cup of tea and i said no one cup of tea and other I said gingerbread latte he looked at me thinking what is he saying so I had to point latte and then gingerbread syrup in latte.I got receipt but didn’t say I ask guy that is gingerbread in with this he said yes. I got my food before my drink so I told other staff and again the server and explained what I’ve ask for he said he will get it and told him syrup gingerbread so guy knod his head to indicate he understand and explained to him about communication problem he said sorry but when I got my latte it tasted disgusting and was no gingerbread in side. My concern is if you cant understand the customers then more practice is needed and to improve the service this need to change as can mess up orders and satisfaction. Service of food 6/10 as fish was hardDrink service 2/10 complete wrong and communication-issuesTidiness 5/10 plates left around and no one come to clean up them.Compare to other sea place in blackpool they offer better service fish cooked perfectly and latte they do put syrup in and actually show me them aswell and communication is 9/10 Something that Houndshill sea should follow from. Extremely slow service for mediocre food. Partly wrong order and then saw one of the kitchen stsff put his had down his pants while cooking! Unfortunaty we had already been served by then.

We went to this restaurant on the 18th October 2019 and despite being extremely busy with day-trippers such as myself, my dad, 7 year old brother and my 5 year old daughter visiting to see the Illuminations, the service was AMAZING!!! The food was fresh and my daughter’s chicken nuggets were clearly homemade and everything was piping hot and very reasonably priced for the quality) The servers and young lad cleaning plates and cutlery were run ragged bless them and the two dark haired girls (I think one may have been called Georgia and the other lady had an Eastern European accent) on the floor were fantastic, nothing was too much trouble. The place throughout was spotless, despite other customers leaving a terrible mess, the ladies i mentioned were grateful that myself and my 5 year old daughter helped clear a couple of tables and wipe them down. The only criticism I’d give that there isn’t many toilets and I’d perhaps put a stand/bin to encourage customers to clear some of their mess during busier periods but aside from that we couldn’t fault it. We will definitely be returning every time we go to Blackpool.

the place is very clean even the toilets, there was not alot of people in when we were there. we ordered fish and chips and meat and potatoe pie and chips with gravy, the chips and the gravy were nice but the fish tasted like it was frozen the pie was like mush inside. outside they advertise all the pies were hollands, no way was that an hollands pie. if you advertise hollands people expect it to be one not some cheap version from some back street bakers

Absolutely amazing! Even went to find the owner to say this is the best fish and chips I have ever had! And me and my man have been all over the country to sample fish and chips! Amazing food and amazing staff

Looked at Trip Adviser before visiting this place and was a bit put off by some of the negative reviews. But needn’t have worried. This is a bright, airy and spotlessly clean restaurant in the town centre. They serve very good fish and chips cooked to order. The staff are friendly and efficient. And it’s good value for money. Would definitely return

Family get together in Blackpool!!

The fish cod was very nice and well cooked. Rating was due to re-heated chips, not having plaice (this is a fish and chip restaurant) and the plates were cold meaning the chips were warm. Not a great experience for the cost

We were in this chippy for something to eat, on 29th June. On the whole the food was ok, but the attitude of the staff was shocking. This place is quite big, but there was only 3 couple in at 5.30. A party of 3 arrived and 2 of them was on motorised scooters/wheelchairs. They were denied admission as "there's no where to put them". I could have seen the point if they were packed out the door, but were far from that. They not only lost these 3 customers but we won't be back either.

Lovely fish and chip restaurant close to Winter Gardens. Nicely decorated with nice clean tables, it hasn't the appearance of most Blackpool fish and chip restaurants as the food is cooked out of sight and so you don't get the usual heat and steam.I had the cod and chips - good size beautifully cooked piece of cod and plenty of chips which were also really nice.My wife had the Cod bites which I had to help her with as I think there was the equivalent of at least 2 pieces of cod there.Would have scored it as excellent but on the day we were there the coffee machine was broke and it is cash only they do not take card payments. Will definitely return next time in Blackpool.

Some of the nicest freshest fish we’ve tasted in a long time is served here. My partner and I both had Sea Basket at a very reasonable price. There’s a great selection of fish in the basket hiding a huge portion of chips. It’s all cooked freshly to order and is perfect. The batter is light, fluffy and crisp the chips delicious.

Visited yesterday as a party of seven. We had various dishes between us but all were cooked to perfection and very tasty. The curry was amazing. Portion sizes were generous too. Will definitely go again.

Clean, spacious, nicely decorated restaurant with plenty of seating. We ordered the fish and chips and the pie and chips at the counter with our drinks and it was brought to us after about 10 mins by the friendly staff. The fish was lovely and fresh, the chips non greasy and we had a nice portion of mushy peas on the side. The portion was a good size and good value for money. Its a short walk from the prom, winter gardens, tower and north station and well worth a visit, we will be going there again.

We wanted a meal before seeing a show at the Winter Gardens so went in and I was blown away by the size of the fish and chips we had, it was huge. Really tasty, lovely atmosphere and being right next to the Opera House make it a perfect venue.

Six of us went there on Saturday. The fish is to die for, really fresh and cooked in beautiful batter. The waiting on staff are very efficient. Six people fed with a drink a piece £36.00. The restaurant, is on the corner near the front of the Winter Gardens.

Went for tea and what a delight. The staff was very polite, I got a Senior Citizen Fish & Chips with Bread & Butter & a cup of tea all for £4.99. The batter was lovely and light and the cup of tea went down a treat. First time I've visited but it certainly won't be the last.

Visited here on 23rd September with my husband. Both had cod and chips, I had a bowl of gravy with mine. Absolutely delicious! Not greasy, fish was beautiful and chips were great. Would definitely eat here again and would recommend. Nice clean and stylish restaurant.

Whilst on a family trip to Blackpool for the lights we visited this restaurant to have our evening meal. Portion size was great and the batter on the fish cooked perfectly with lovely flaky fish. We all loved the chips. The lady serving behind the counter was very friendly but the waiting staff, although very busy, could have been a little more smiley. Only gripe: my husband would have preferred a thinner slice of bread to make his chip sandwiches with.

The batter was light and non greasy also the fish came with skin removed. Cod was large and cooked to perfection. Grandson had battered sausage and loved it. Chunky chips, propper mushy peas and for the wife sweet curry sauce. Huge pots of tea. Best fish and chips ive had in a long time

We called in for dinner and the whole restaurant was very welcoming. All three meals were cooked to perfection and the batter was very crispy, the fish extremely hot. An absolutely delicious meal, I’d definitely go back.

We visited Blackpool on the 15th August, for my Mums 60th birthday, we had a great day at the pleasure beach, even though it rained most of the day. Then we were really struggling to find somewhere to eat that wasn’t full- we came across this lovely restaurant, couldn’t have been more grateful for a lovely clean environment. Then what a surprise we all got with the fish that came out- absolutely incredible, literally the best fish and chips I have ever tasted, you all must try this place!! Couldn’t recommend more! I’d even drive down to Blackpool from Edinburgh just for dinner!

So …….. its our usual Tues. trip into Blackpool town centre - rounded off by our usual tea time trip to 'The Sea' Fish And Chip Restaurant on Church St. - Ordinarily, the staff are awesome, polite / helpful - chatty as they recognise us! However, there is something not quite right here, the place is completely empty of other customers - I'm thinking great ! grab a booth / no waiting time to be served etc. - My wife approaches the counter in a bid to place our REGULAR Order, Lightly battered fish ( Dietary Req. ) Male 'Manager' responds with - No !!! Cannot lightly batter fish, my wife explains that we always have lightly battered no matter which Restaurant or corner chippy we frequent! Manager ( in broken English ) decided that my wife needed a food science lesson and went into great detail about how the fish would simply break-up in the fryer should less batter be applied ! after a slight stand off ( Me wondering if he really understood the request ) Manager ( he claims to be - never seen him previously ) announces that if we don't like 'it' …….. The door is behind us and we can leave !!!! OMG - have you ever heard anything so rude / unprofessional ?

My wife and I went in here for lunch to get out of the driving rain and wind.We noticed that the menu had a fish tea with bread and butter for £4.99 for the over 60's.I went up to the counter to order them and young lady jokingly said we don't look 60 but I'm afraid we are (just).The fish was obviously smaller than others on menu but was perfect for us two and with bread and butter was filling enough and great to have sauces at hand without asking,well worth the money.

Went here as my usual chip shop was closed. Pricey for what you get. More batter than fish, in fact couldn't actually taste the fish. Chips were nice but female member of staff wasnt exactly welcoming. Felt like I was an inconvenience to her.

Was given wrong coffee when i ordered a caramel latte and was given normal one but came back and apologise and gave me a new one but didnt haven Carmel so gave me a choose to which a few time said sorry and no charge friendly kind and friendly staff and polite food was great and deffo recomend

Upon walking in I was politely greeted and felt welcomed in this nice decor restaurant. The prime item on the menu was fish & chips tho they did do a wider range food menu.

Visit this restaurant every time we come to Blackpool and it nevers fails to deliver. Delicious food, huge fish and the cheese and onion pies are the best we have ever tasted. Lovely interior and always spotlessly clean. The best chippy in Blackpool.

From being a kid we always used a family run chippy near south pier. When that business closed we were looking for somewhere equally good that we could go back to time and time again and at The Sea we have found it. Lovely hot food, friendly staff and a clean restaurant. Food is very good and hot, we’ve never had to complain about a thing. Always look forward to coming back and the sea food basket is just worth every penny. Just a hint: they don’t take card so it’s cash payment only but there are plenty of cash machines close by. I have read reviews saying there are no hot drinks but we’ve always had tea or coffee so I can’t comment on that.

This restaurant came recommended so I was excited to try it. We went at about 6pm on a Friday and it was very busy. With a choice of plaice, haddock and cod, it was disappointing that there was only cod available. The service wasn't too hot, either. They forgot a portion of mushy peas, brought two small dinners instead of large and we had to go and ask for drinks as they forgot to bring them, too. Not really suitable for disabled as toilets are down a steep set of stairs. On the plus side, it was a great dish and the owner was very pleasant and chatty. Tip: Just order the small size the large plate, when we got it was huge! Don't think I'd go out of my way to visit again, but possibly really good at quiet times.
