I don't opt for fish and chips very often as a takeaway option, but the vegan fish caught my eye and encouraged me to order. I have to say, super impressed with the vegan fish. Yes, it was a little oily, but that was just what I needed! Portion of chips was incredible, huge portion😅 My friend and I think we should have shared a portion instead of getting one each, but hey we've realised that now! I'll be ordering again when I need some proper British food vibes.

I've been looking for a decent chip shop for ages that is a bit more local for me and this one ticks all the boxes. Home delivery, ordering online was cheaper than Justeat etc. Good portion sizes, ordered the 9 cod bite meal deal with extra sides - battered garlic mushrooms and mushy peas. Fish and chips arrived and were still hot, (McDonald's should look.into this as whatever I order there arrives.cold) although the mushy peas were colder than I would like, mushrooms were similar. They forgot our drinks but that was the only issue we had. Definitely going to order/visit here again

My friend went here - I did not eat myself as I'd already eaten. My friend ordered a large burger and a potato fritter. This was all he had to eat on this day. During the night his tummy was hurting and in knots - the next day . .. just terrible . .. on the toilet; I won't add details - just nasty. This, is not good at all and as a result my friend will not be eating here again !

polite man on phone, £3.50 to deliver - i live less than 2 miles away. they blamed stupidly expensive prices on justeat comission - said to order direct. it'll be cheaper. NO IT WONT Disgusting delivery price, refused to order - will never consider from either justeat or direct

I placed an order through Justeat but can't leave a review on that site. Had missing drinks from order and when telephoned had a recorded message saying closed, yet were open. Chips were disgusting, oil obviously needed changing. Most of chips were inedible. Would not use again or recommend.

Very, very greasy. Batter slimy. Felt ill. Did not used to be like this - might have changed hands. Chips were huge chunks of potato. Not sure these guys know what they are doing.

We went here as it is the closest fish and chip shop to Boscombe beach, and we really fancied fish and chips for lunch. I wish I'd checked TripAdvisor first Firstly, the area itself is a dump. Difficult to park nearby and just a run down part of town There are coloured bits of paper plastered all over the windows with "offers" but they are so difficult to read, with terrible spelling. The menu inside isn't much better. Prices crossed out with pen, stickers over other bits, just a mess. The fact they have wine for sale in their menu tells you what you need to know. There is limited seating inside should you choose to eat in. Large chips will set you back £2.95, and cod comes in either small or large. The menu is vast- I cant recall the rest of it. I also asked for a gravy Firstly, the staff were just pig ignorant. 2 women, broken English. Rude, disinterested. If I wasn't starving I'd have walked there and then. Paid up (they take cash or card) and waited. A long time. The one positive is the fish and chips were cooked fresh as they didn't have any ready (it was lunchtime!). The gravy was made up from granules in a plastic jug like you'd do at home for your roast dinner!! Horrifyingly as I waited for my food one of the women started scoffing a sausage roll behind the counter next to the food prep area, and the second one sat next to her eating her dinner off a plate on full display, again literally a foot away from the food prep area The food when it arrived was hot. The chips were OK. The fish batter was soggy and wet and I ended up picking most of it off All in all, just awful. Think it's the first "terrible" review I've written on TripAdvisor in 10 years which tells you what you need to know. Avoid

.... fancy your stomach. Terrible quality. All chips, fish taste like sick. Been fried in reused oil. Absolutely disgusting. What should of been a great family dinner, turned into a horrible disappointing taste experience. Portions big, taste horrible. Shame. Repeat customer lost. Had to drink black coffee just to get rid of that taste and washed face to get oil coating off lips. Refund??? Hahahahaha guess again.

I'm a support worker and ordered online fish and chips for adults with learning disabilities. They got the order wrong and we were short 1 fish and chips. Spoke to the manager and he refused to supply the order for one of our guys who has downsyndrome his dinner he paid for. Also he refused to give a full refund. The manager is disgraceful!! Avoid this place as they disregard adults with learning disabilities!!

Ordered online for myself and my partner Delivery time was average, but I soon realized that not everything we ordered had been delivered (chips and pea fritter missing) Called the restaurant to let them know, and the owner was very rude to me on the phone. He told me that his chef had cooked all the items we ordered, and that I was basically lying to him ! When I mentioned that perhaps the driver had misplaced the missing items he went off in a rage, telling me ' Its impossible ' and that his driver has been working for him for years !! Very rude man, and the worst customer service ever! This guy actually called me back TWICE to continue ranting and raging at me, demanding that I watch the CCTV of the restaurant. I told him not to bother the first time, and that I would not be ordering again. He called me back after that and i ignored it. The food we did receive was really not worth the money , and extremely poor quality. AVOID!

The order was late and the chips were missing. We phoned to query, they argued that the chips were in with the fish in one of the boxes. We checked, they were not there so were rang back and we asked them to delivered the chips. The chips did not arrive so we had to eat the oily fish and overcooked calamari on its own.

Papas fritas grandes y gruesas, probablemente la mejor porción y papas fritas de buen gusto en todo Bournemouth a la par, lo pondría como en Swanage fish and chips en el centro de la ciudad. Muy pocos le darán chips espesos y de buen sabor, ya que el aceite que usan puede diferir mucho, pero en esta tienda, el aceite es correcto y tiene un buen y buen sabor que aporta a la comida. Les dije el número que tenían que llamar, pero continuaron llamándome, aproximadamente 8 veces y cada vez se volvieron más agresivos y amenazantes. ¡En realidad es bastante impresionante que lograron hacerlo tan malo! ¿Qué tan difícil puede ser el pescado y las papas fritas? !El pescado estaba goteando de grasa y la masa estaba demasiado empapada para ser realmente llamada masa, creo. Mientras que las patatas fritas eran lo contrario y casi secas / gomosas. Los guisantes blandos tenían un sabor realmente extraño para ellos, ni siquiera seguros de cómo explicarlo o qué era, pero en general, ninguno de ellos era comestible.Ni siquiera pudimos obligarnos a comerlo y terminamos cocinando otra cosa para el té, ¡recomendaríamos que no pierdas tu tiempo!Solo elegimos este lugar porque era el mejor de los 2 disponibles en la aplicación de entrega, en el futuro iremos a un lugar más agradable y haremos el viaje de 10 minutos nosotros mismos, realmente no valió la pena entregarlo.

Fish was flat as a pancake. Chips over cooked. Chicken nuggets like rocks. All food stone cold. Ordered on Delivery took 1 hour when should have been 25-30 minutes. Would never go back again.

We had fish and chips to take away and it was good value and great quality. We had a small fish and chips and it was plenty. If you book online you get 20% off once you have bought from them once.

I ordered a large portion of cod and chips. This cost £6.50. The chips were very chunky and a bit undercooked. The man serving the food had a runny nose, which he was blowing. I didn’t see him was his hands afterwards.

Before anyone worries there are no seagulls and chips on the menu. However with a name like sea bird they could be tempted.

Good range of choices, food was freshly cooked and hot. The chips are the main draw to this place, thick cut and cooked in decent oil. The fish was nice I’m not a fan of their curry sauce and the sausage was over cooked, however the fish was really tasty.

Called in here before the football and had cod and chips, curry sauce and gravy. Good size portions - my teenage son is still full and it’s 6 hours later! Would recommend.

After arriving in Bournemouth on Sunday evening and having eaten lunch earlier, we wanted something minimal before heading to the hotel. Sea Bird in Boscombe was suggested by tripadvisor as one of the few chip shops open on a Sunday evening and we ordered regular and large portions of chips wrapped to takeaway. The very polite staff put them in good solid cardboard boxes wrapped in paper and placed in a small carrier bag together with serviettes and lemon wipes. “Salt and vinegar?” “Yes please” I replied. We drive for five minutes to a parking spot and unwrapped our chips to eat. They were barely warm and some were almost transparent where the potato had cooked for such a long time they’d become crunchy square pieces of batter. They were small and plump and would have been very tasty had they been hot and fresh. To cap it all there was hardly any salt on and you couldn’t taste any vinegar. It was a dreadful introduction to Bournemouth though the seagulls were happy for their evening bite. My wife vowed never to step in the place again and frowned each time we passed the premises as we headed to and fro from Bournemouth to Hengistbury, Boscombe and Southbourne.

Looks a bit run down but it’s all about the food. Great cod in a crispy batter and crispy hand cut chips. Good price and friendly staff. Not much seating but I got a table easily. They do eat in or takeaway.

Since this place opened we have had fish and chips every week without fail as our Friday treat. The fish and chips are gorgeous and so is the scampi. Eat in or take away the quality is always superb.

My friend and I had spent the day in the town centre and eaten lunch so we weren't overly hungry but fancied something simple. My friend had tried this place before and recommended it so off we trotted.

I have been to this place several times in the last month.the first time waited 10 mins for cod and chips but didnt mind as everything cooked fresh and tasted lovely.the next visit I had jumbo battered sausage and chips but didn't have to wait and guy served straight away.it tasted awful.chips had been cold and stale where they were not cooked fresh and had been lying round.thought OK if I get fish and chips then everything cooked fresh so did that for a few times and it was lovely each time.then 2 days ago went in waited 10 mins for cod and chips and the cod was cooked fresh but chips were not and stale.why why why would you not cook both cod and chips fresh.I won't be coming back as its just luck if they cook chips fresh or not.shame as when they make an effort to cook food fresh its well tasty.

Went on Just eat for a takeaway found this place ,thank god i did very good portions crisp batter ,freshest salad and perfect chunky chips,,next time I'm in Bournemouth will eat from here again

Family holiday to the coast was ruined by the awful experience. Placed order on just eat and was told it would be a 45-1hour wait. We got a text saying delivery was en route and then we had to wait another 35 minutes. I had to walk to the delivery man who could not understand the direction of walking past a large landmark or walking away from the pier. No apology, no common sense and to top it all off the order wasn’t complete and the food was cold by the time we received it. Spoke with the ‘manager’ and was called a liar and was told it was our fault. Very rude. Terrible service and terrible food. Not worth the money. If you’re reading this and still want to order, the peri peri chicken wings are actually alright.

18 of us, with plenty of room to sit, had excellent freshly made fish and chips (various sizes, lots of sides and lots of tea and cold drinks). Service couldn’t have been quicker, friendlier or better. What a treat - thank you.

We have had fish and chips from here twice through deliveroo, they were delicious! Portions very generous and served with a lovely side salad and sources. I would completely disagree with the comment below and look forward to ordering again.

Night be OK for breakfast but this is NOT a fish and chip restaurant.

The quality of the fish here is fabulous.I have eaten here a few times and it has always been excellent.for quality and freshness.their chips are great too,as is the small choice of Turkish dishes.The guys runung the place are really friendly and they also open in the evenong.A great place to eat and meet

We ordered from deliveroo and it arrived on time. I cannot fault any of the food apart from our gravy leaked all over our food, but stuff happens it’s not a big issue considering this is now my favourite place to get fish and chips. Lovely batter, and thick chips. My partner had a burger with bacon, he said it’s one of the best burgers he’s ever had and loved the crispy bacon. 10/10 would recommend and definitely will visit again!

We stopped in Boscombe needing some tea, we went into the Sea Bird as it was the only place we could find that wasn't a chain and we could eat in. The staff were fantastic and couldn't do anymore to help us. Excellent eat in menu, more extensive than the takeaway menu, we had two adult meals and a child's which was fantastic. Very clean dining area and toilet.

We went to try out this newly opened place to see if we could get good fish and chips as Boscombe hasn't got a good fish and chip shop. We were delighted and found the food there fantastic and cooked perfectly. We would recommend this place to everyone.

This cafe is a gem, it offers super quality fish and chips either in the charming restaurant or take away. The food is good quality and reasonable value. I was particularly impressed by the home made mushy peas and beautiful presentation. The menu also includes the best homemade baked rice pudding I've ever tasted...I was too full so asked for this as a takeaway to warm up at home! We were so impressed we returned for breakfast which was a really original treat. My husband had a fabulous 'a la carte' English breakfast and I had an amazing Mediterranean breakfast with olives, pitta, spiced sausage, grilled haloumi and spinach and feta rolls. An absolute treat. This is all along with delightful, friendly service a charming, informal setting. Don't miss this one!
