The signage for the lunch deal is unclear says toastie and coffee £5.99 but certain toasties don’t apply so charged more. Staff didn’t want to anything about saying it’s in the small print. Not good enough obtained in the end but unlikely to return soon.

Came here today for lunch with my mum and she wanted to know how many calories in the drink! Instead of getting annoyed Ellie helped my mum even though the queue behind us!!! She then helped to make sure we were getting the best deal possible!! Really going above and beyond thanks Ellie

A very nice Costa. Just a shame one of the staff did not fill the glass to the top on the last 2 visits. He must think there is a milk shortage.

Never seen such a mess in a coffee shop in all my life at least 25 tables can't be used because of mess piled high on them. And we watched staff standing doing nothing .... Photos below show low level mess . Down by toilets 4 tables are piled high and now being put on floor space AWFUL AWFUL

Never seen a cafe so dirty in all my life used dirty cups plates trays everywhere even on the floor. Would be closed down by health and safety

One of my favourite Costa’s, always very clean and efficient. Was served by Dom and Morgan today, who were really happy and pleasant and who made my order to perfection. This shop can get busy on the weekends but even then, it runs like a Swiss watch. No complaints here, only compliments!

No cue, ignored by three members of staff, wasn't even greeted by the young lady serving, she was making one drink, every table filthy had to clean it myself, cleaning chemicals left out by sugar. Go somewhere else, coffee was terrible. It you want bad coffee, bad service and a dirty coffee shop and want to watch members of staff standing around, you will be happy here. Most people would kill for a job any job, but this is what happens when you employ kids and give them no supervision.

Terrible. Wanted to sell me tea in a paper cup because they were 'behind with washing up' and plenty of cups and pots on the shelves. Lazy, vapid staff.

It's the length of time it takes to get served.... been twice now n its the same every time..... they could with watching how the Robin Park Road Costa do it...... there's always a queue but it doesn't last..... they are super quick....

Nice and quiet today, apart from the door alarms 😳 but that's not Costa's fault.

Always like this Costa, consistently good. Can get busy at times but it's bound to being in the middle of all the shops. Never have trouble getting a seat though.

Costa Coffee in Next at Castlepoint, Bournemouth. This place does always seem to have long queues to be served, but it is popular. A little disconcerting on our latest visit when we spotted trays with crockery and cutlery on the floor near the exit to the toilet area in the main coffee shop. More so as a employee was crouched down filling shelves with merchandise rather than clearing the trays which could have been a safety risk to young children and adults alike. Plenty of seating but it does he busy. The drinks are fine as is their food from sandwiches to pastries and cakes.

Great service, though the queue was quite long, they managed to get through it quickly and provided great service. They have very enthusiastic and friendly staff, even towards the elderly, and the young man who served us was obviously skilful and also polite. Asked for a glass of water from the young boy who was clearing tables, and received it promptly with a smile. Will definitely recommend for anyone looking for great customer service.

Possibly the dirtiest experience ever from a costa outlet , filthy tables , filthy floor and stacked plates all over the place leaving very little sitting area unless you want to sit outside in the cold … only 2 members of staff ? Will never go back again ! I’m sure Bournemouth council health department will be interested to know it doesn’t get much worse than this ….

Really friendly staff. Doesn’t seem to matter how busy it is (like today) the staff always smiley, friendly and polite.

The service is very good in ferndown. Love going in just for a quiet 30 minutes to recharge.

One very capable lady doing her best. The other seemed spaced out and unable to look at customers. Just did not know what was going on.I am glad I did not have to work with her. We will go elsewhere now.

Saturday morning visit, a young blonde girl and store manager in today on the bar very chatty and efficient. Spoke to everyone waiting for their coffee, was getting busier as we waited in the queue but still good friendly service, plus a beautiful view from the window tables :)

Extremely dirty, feel confident that it would be closed if inspected. Very unprofessional and unhelpful staff, who seemed to want to be anywhere rather than here. This could also explain why they are very slow indeed - took 20 minutes of queuing to get 2 coffees. I have visited numerous Costa Coffees across the whole country, and this is the slowest and dirtiest that I have been in.

In Costa Castlepoint now 14:00 barista was Frankie who was trying to be too fast milk boiled over which makes coffee bitter ordered a small got a large and flat white was very weak nothing up to normal standard

I have just left this place, I wish I could rate zero star! I went in for a morning coffee and breakfast with my sister to find the staff were rude and not helpful at all. All the staff look miserable. When I asked to use the toilet I couldn’t punch in the numbers as I have long nails and the staff wouldn’t help me when I begged so I have left. Worst customer service !!!!

Staff appear unable to act in a professional manner and deliver an acceptable level of service, in comparison to other branches I've used.

My only observation is that it's looking a bit tired, see pictures. There were several chairs like this.

There is always a super long queue

Costa in Next at Castlepoint. The young lad who had the unfortunate task to serve me did not know what a “filtered coffee” is and did not have the intelligence to ask me what I meant! All I got as an answer was “we don’t do filtered coffee”! Every week I have a coffee in this store or one of its rivals and have never had a problem until now. What are we teaching these young people these days? “Customer is king” is well an truly gone!

Fly on donuts and rushed chocolate orange hot chocolate. Tasted rubbish, waste of money !

If it wasn’t for a lack of places to get a coffee at Castle Point I would avoid here. Have been in a “few” times over the year (they do make a good coffee) & each time the queue has been long & slow. The tables dirty & floor unswept. I guess Costa make enough money that they don’t need to worry about the state of their premises!!!

Absolutely disgusted with the state of this Costa. Take a peek behind the counter and you will see first hand what I am talking about. The floor is covered in god knows what, the sides are coated in filth, just a mess.

Went to get something to eat with my partner this Sunday at 3:00 after waiting for our food for ages we were told they were only doing takeaway we assumed that they meant Paper cups etc as it was only 3:25 we then sat down and had a member of staff come up to us and say “you were told at the till we are only doing takeaway” this is the same member of staff who had an attitude the last couple of times we’ve been in there terrible customer service definitely don’t recommend

Down one oven, but people were ok with it, as there were signs explaining, staff were busy but very helpful, efficient and very friendly.

Super friendly staff. It was almost time to close and asked us if we would like to take some sandwiches home as other wise would go to the bin. There was no pressure to get us out of the store due to the closing time like in some other coffee shops.

The excuse for banging on my chair with a mop 1 hour before closing was 'we are understaffed'. Menu is generic Edit: this cleaning barista had an attitude and even worse was the smell of the cleaning products.

Half cafe shut due to cleaning, although no cleaning being done. Female member of staff kept shouting at customers from across the cafe when anyone tried to sit in that area. Disgusting customer service. Filthy seats and banquettes. Toilets in need of cleaning.

Quick service, very polite and efficient staff

Costa staff always helpful & do their best. The coffee is always of a high standard. I like the venue but as I have hearing impairment, background noise is sometimes a problem. I have found it quieter & easier to hear when I choose my seat in a quiet spot. At the moment, Castlepoint's major reconstruction of under cover parking areas makes finding the entrance to the Next fashion store more difficult than usual. Costa coffee is up the stairs inside the shop. I have been told there is a lift for the physically disabled & parents with psalms or pushchair but it isn't within view of the main seating area but closer to the Unisex toilets.

Ridiculous situation that some of the featured frappe drinks weren't available and they were out of large plastic cups so we couldn't have large cold drinks - I asked 'Why don't you just use two small cups instead?" the reply was, wait for it ... "We're not allowed - them's [sic] the rules - we don't make the rules". Utterly pathetic!

Dishwasher broken..hence paper cups etc....tables not cleared efficiently....

I normally like Costa, but it was a shambles today. No clean cups available and dirty tables. When I asked for a pot of tea with my sandwich, I was told I'd have to have it in a cardboard takeaway cup, despite a stack of clean cups on display at the counter. This Costa is a pleasure to visit it is a good size with plenty of space between seating. It feels comfortable to sit back and relax and it is clean. I had a nice tasting iced latte today with some toast with the good breakfast deal before eleven. Could be the best Costa

Queued for ages. Tables dirty, over run with previous customers trays, cups and plates. I had to clear the table, saw no employee doing this.

A standard Costa, does well as it's very busy, but it's a nice place and the food and drink is good, light and airy seating too.

Staff not focused enough, toast ordered with drink, then cooked and then waits for coffees to be made, consequently, cold toast, perhaps make the toast just before coffee if ready.

Great place to meet friends when allowed during the pandemic or great for takeaway when not allowed inside.

Sunday afternoon, horrible weather. Met my sister and brother in law for coffee at 2pm. Having not seen them for some considerable time, watching the time was last thing on our minds. Despite sufficient numbers of staff, lots of uncleared/unclean tables. Lots of staff behind counter yet unreasonably long wait for service. Having lost track of time, and waiting forever - a second time - for drinks, minutes later a staff member walked over announcing "We're closed", no politeness to the statement. RUDE does not cover it. Very likely no going back there again. AVOID, best advice.

Coffee and snacks OK, cleanliness OK but it takes a long time to get served, this was on a Saturday, not sure what weekdays are like.

Slowest Costa I have ever been in. 25 minutes wait with 4 people in front of me, Staff 2 of them cashing up a till, Nobody on coffee machine for 5 minutes. Then served in take away cups although notice said it was headoffice instruction, reality washing machine breakdown. ONLY one coffee machine being used No receipt for purchase as with other decent Costa outlets Will never go there again,

For the price you pay for a toastie, you’d expect good service. Waited 20 mins for my drink and it wasn’t even right. Dirty tables and flooring everywhere. Rude staff and poor portion sizes.

Like all club sites it was clean, well maintained and the staff very pleasant and helpful.

Queuing system not clearly marked so the queue direction had to change - with 5 people already in the queue. Signage is up for items but items haven't been in stock. Not the friendliest staff considering they're in front of house roles.

Great to see so many vegan options in one store - I find it's a bit hot and miss across the brand but castlepoint seem to be doing a good selection. However, there were 5 members of staff behind tills and only one doing any serving. The rest were stood about chatting. A queue formed before I got served, which was silly given the staffing numbers. While sitting and drinking my coffee, a staff member came to clean tables and you could see the frustration on her face as she was not helped at all by her colleagues. Again, they were huddled chatting. I feel quite sorry for her, lots of people had left and the younger colleagues were socialising rather than working. She was quick, clean and professional. She's actually still working hard now as I write. Costa has made it difficult to give feedback - I even downloaded the app before coming here but to no avail. Clean, nice atmosphere and plenty of space. Well done to that one staff member!

Quite a nice setting this one - over Next and with a nice view of the comings and goings outside. A nice place to chill when shopping.

We go to Castlepoint Costa at least 4 times a week the service is fantastic, the staff is fabulous and Sacha ( manager ) is totally in control and the staff respect her

The Costa is in Next upstairs it was clean and well managed the staff were very friendly and helpful the sandwiche selection was limited yet a delivery was due and a young waitress came over asked what I was looking for to eat and went and sorted out for me excellent service and well done that girl

Had lunch very nice, but the place looks like it needs a good clean... staff very pleasant...

Drinks were good. But unfortunately in take out cups for some reason, toilets definitely required cleaning.... not the best experience ive had.
