Scottish Gourmet in South Lanarkshire

I’ve travelled the world and eaten ice cream everywhere. Lived in Paris. Regular visitor to Italy. Grew up in Glasgow eating the stuff all the time - in cafés, in restaurants, out of vans in the street with raspberry sauce. Spent a month in the USA making a film about the rivalry between Haägen-Dazs and Ben & Jerry’s. Consumed tons of their products on that trip. Attended a seminar in Philadelphia with Arun Kilara, the most famous correspondence course ice cream making instructor - a Professor, no less - in America. I understand ice cream on a granular, scientific level, and on an emotional one. And no ice cream anywhere in the world (I’m looking at you, Luca’s) comes even close to the magical stuff you get at Cones & Candies.

Food was good but not the driver. Pretty displeased I paid a service fee to be confronted at my own home with a late, angry driver because he couldn’t find the address in a city centre location. Complained to me how it took him 20 min to find and yet, I received no call before he arrived. Not even a ‘I’m sorry I’m late, I couldn’t find the address’. Straight in to, it’s my locations fault and complaining to me about my own address. I use other delivery and taxi services without issue.

I’ve been to this subway a couple of times now and always order on the app for collection to save time. Usually things are forgotten and I have to ask the staff to re-read the receipt. Today, however, I’ve ordered on the app for collection and stood at the collection sign for between 5-10 minutes whilst one boy (who seemed new as he didn’t know where some buttons were on the till) and two female staff worked - ignoring me. One of the female staff was making orders for customers in store, but spoke to the other female staff member in the kitchen area the entire time. I could see multiple paper collection bags waiting so I was getting frustrated. It was only when a just eat driver came into the store and told the boy the numbers of the orders he needed. Only then the male staff member gave me any attention and handed me my food. Not happy.
