Had a really good coffee and sit down in the cafe and read my book. Friendly staff. Clean and tidy surroundings.I would highly recommend the coffee.

AVOID!! I went today with my children and bought quite a bit as the kids wanted scoops of ice cream, I then ordered myself a mr whippy the young girl took payment and the owner came to make the mr whippy when he passed it me I asked for some strawberry sauce and he said that’s 30p, I said excuse me ? He said 30p! I said you’ve got to be joking I’ve just bought all these ice creams and I’ve asked for a bit of sauce on the ice cream he looked me in the eyes and said NO!! He was so rude and aggressive I was gobsmacked. Told him I don’t want the ice cream and want a refund he aggressively stated he wouldn’t give me a refund. I left the mr whippy with him and walked away! So so rude!!

This place needs shutting down and refurbishment carrying out..! The eating area is filthy, dirty cutlery, cobwebs all over the windows, broken tiles all over the floor and the customer toilet is a disgrace 🤮absolutely no cleaning or maintenance is being done !! The food and drinks they sell is ok but very over priced !!! And its clear they employ young people to keep the wage bill down but are not spending anything on the above issues !!! I work in Golden Square as a store manager and have many times bought my lunch from Scoop to take back to work. Have just been into place an order and was accused of trying to steal a sachet of salt and pepper by the man working there.? !He was rude and aggressive saying " what do you think you are doing ,those are for paying customers you can't just come in and take one!" Well I was a customer and I was about to place an order but I went elsewhere and will continue to do so in future. Disgusting attitude you have lost my custom.

Attitude of staff very poor. Not in any way welcoming or helpful. Asked for table to be cleaned-felt as though I had asked for Crown Jewels. Paninis arrived only just warm-tasteless and poor value. Had to ask for soup-''it is on its way''-yes but I had finished the Panini by then. Will not return

Came with a group of friends.We waited too long for our sandwiches and most of the order was wrong. When staff were asked to rectify they said they were too busy as had had a delivery, they were rude and unhelpful, we eventually got served and they still got the orders wrong. We will never visiting there again.

My daughter was in town with her baby who needed to be fed. She stopped at Scoop and asked the lady if she would kindly warm up the bottle for her. She refused to do so unless she bought something! I am absolutely disgusted at this. This was a hungry baby who needed to be fed and she refused to help? No use pphoning to complain as her voicemail is constantly full - probably with all the complaints she receives!

Visited for the first time on Sunday afternoon. Ordered panini which took a long time to come and no side salad or a few crisps would of been nice. Milkshake was average. The searing area was freezing cold and lots of tables with empty plates. Toilets were quite grotty.

Waited too long for a toastie. Hot drinks were cold by time food arrived. Very basic no salad or anything to make it look appealing. Scruffy surroundings and unfriendly staff

Went today to get my niece an ice cream. It was half 2 on a hot day so of course most ice cream flavours had ran out. They have a great selection of ice cream which is why I’m giving it 2 stars not 1. I’ll have to get there as soon as it opens to get the flavour I want. Went in to sit down and it was absolutely disgusting. Plates everywhere. Food all over the floor and there were 2 other tables seated in the whole place. We picked the cleanest table and moved some things off but it was sticky and crumbs everywhere! I would have taken the ice cream elsewhere but she is only 3 and wanted to sit down to eat it. The girl who served us today was lovely regardless of getting my order wrong. The photos attached are of the tables behind me, next to me and just in front of me on the right. I’m not quite sure what I would have seen if I went right to the end. I used to come here a lot and it used to be lovely but it’s gone very downhill!

One of the cheaper places in the Golden Square to stop for a drink whilst shopping. The vast majority of the female staff are very friendly, and remember what drinks we usually order. There's a man who occasionally works at the counter. Whether he's the manager or proprietor I don't know, but he seems to have been trained by Basil Fawlty himself! Today, he grumbled when we asked for different cups — we wanted the ones with the handles that are big enough to actually hold. Moments later, he started pouring a small jug of full-cream milk, and practically told us off when we wanted skimmed, asking us why we didn't tell him earlier. (The people who are usually serving on a Sunday know our preferences, so we didn't think to say anything for once — and he never asked.) In recent months, we only tend to have drinks, but in the past, the ice creams seemed nice enough. Also, the panini are generally ok, and what you'd expect for a place of this sort — although when I once had a BBQ chicken one, it was a bit burnt. And when I complained, the replacement was the same... Other bad points? They're sometimes understaffed, so they can be slow to clear the tables. Despite the above, we'll keep going back because they offer good value, and most of the staff are friendly.

I took my daughter (8) and her friend for lunch here over the weekend. We has toastie and sandwiches which were fine but don't come with anything (I'd expect side salad or crisps or something) The plates weren't cleared off the table until after we left. I was charged incorrectly but that was all resolved really quickly and the staff were lovely. The ice cream til is different to the food til so that caused some confusion but the girls loved the ice cream and the toppings. The cafe is right next to some outdoor doors so is a bit nippy! Not sure I could have had some ice cream!!

Place was not the cleanest ordered hot chocolate was very nice but then found a eye lash in 🤢 was not happy. The food was okay and service should be with a smile but was okay.

Used to love a tub of ice cream when shopping from scoop. Called today while shopping and disappointed. Ice cream didn’t look as inviting as it usually does, my nephew asked for caramel only he said it tasted like coffee, on enquiring it was caramel latte only the latte (yuk) had been rubbed off the label and it used to be in recycleable pots but now in cheap horrible plastic pots. Will be walking straight past from now on

Best milkshakes ever! Always visit when going the shops, My kids love it too! Toasties are good too. Worth a dabble if your ever in Golden Square.

Came here with family for lunch. The toasties were nice & plenty of drinks choice though a little pricey. My daughter says the ice cream is very yummy, Grandad finished it and agreed

We visited scoop on a family shopping day out.The staff were friendly and cheerfully.They have a great selection of ice creams,snacks and drinks.We will definitely visit again when in the town.

Ordered scrambled egg on toast at 11.15 (they stop taking orders for breakfast at 11.30) was told the grill had been ‘turned off’ as they have stopped serving breakfast(?!) I pointed out it was only 11.15 and was looked dead in the eye with a cold stare and was told ‘the grill has been turned off’ I asked if they could do it anyway (2 pieces of toast) and she begrudgingly agreed. Felt like walking out there and then but was hungry and needed to feed my son. It came cold ten mins after my cup of tea (1 piece) with a measly portion of scrambled egg. When I complained was made to feel like a pain in the backside. This place used to be good. Now dirty, overpriced, empty, rude manager and clueless kids serving. Avoid at all costs.

Food, drinks & ice creams are delicious here. The staff are very pleasant, obliging & helpful. Sometimes short staffed but nothing is too much trouble. We go here about 3 times a week & cannot fault it.

My children always enjoy an ice cream treat when in town..my little boy especially loved his lil dinosaur cup 🦖❤️

I went here with my daughter yesterday for a milkshake. After a 10 minute wait when no one was serving or even around a you girl emerged and said 'wot are youze 'Avin?' We ordered an Oreo milkshake. She dropped the scoop of ice cream and then picked it up and put it in the machine! Then added some milk and put it on the side. She took my card from my hand and scanned it on contactless machine without even asking. When I complained to her about the whole process. She said 'I'm only part time Nd the managers not here'..... so we left. Golden square need to be aware of this place. It's filthy, expensive and the staff are rude. Avoid!

my two friends and i ordered soup and a roll soup came with a slice of bread which was stale told one of the staff she couldnt have cared less she toke the bread away no apoligy she just said no problem told her last time we had a lovely warm roll terrible customer service we were going to go back later for a drink and cake but did not bother

Went in on Saturday afternoon, took ages to get served as only one person taking orders and then making the hot drinks. More than half of the tables had dirty crockery on them, so although there weren’t many people in, there wasn’t much choice of where to sit. The coffee was awful, it made me feel sick as I was drinking it so I didn’t finish it and I felt sick for the rest of the day and evening. It had the same effect on the person I was with too. Cold air was blasting out of the aircon vents in the ceiling even though it’s November so I had to keep my coat on. Won’t bother going back, I’ll spend my money elsewhere in future.

Just went here for a little treat, only to find that the staff are so friendly and they make their very own ice cream which I was fascinated by! I had 3 scoops and so did my partner, we would definitely visit here again!

First impression when ordering was ok ! Staff seemed friendly, reasonably priced. Sat down inside , was discusted! I've never seen anywhere as filthy! Dirty tables, sticky seats and floor! Sat next to the window sill ? It was full of food and dirt !! Was not looking forward to my food arriving. I ordered a cheese and ham toastie ! It looked like it had bin threw on the plate ! Awful, cheep and swimming in grease ! Just left it and walked out as I really didn't want anything else ! Would hate to see what the kitchen looked like.

My wife and I used to go in here for a snack lunch every so often but it went downhill some time ago and we went elsewhere in Warrington. We thought we would give it a second chance and so tried it again - we shouldn't have bothered. Ordered two coffees and snacks and to my horror the woman server smelt the milk bottle and asked her colleague whether it "smelt off" - I shouted over to her not to use it and she got a new bottle from the back. Long wait for the snacks to arrive- even though it wasn't particularly busy. Tables were not cleared down and the place looked generally untidy. We won't go back.

Good choice of ice cream flavours. Prices are reasonable. The seating area feels a bit bland and uncared for, but they can't help the space. Clean. Friendly staff. Nowhere near a toilet

When here on the 11th of April. We had to wait until the staff decided to appear from the back.

Ordered a smoothie and ended up wearing it!! The owner passed me the smoothie... the lid then fell off, it splashed all over me and leaked all over a new top I'd just bought inside a bag I was holding. He then informed me it was MY fault as the lid was on when he passed it to me!!! it was leaking as he passed it!

They had lots of varieties of flavours which can range from simple vanilla to oreo or Nutella. The food is amazing and a good price. However, the staff aren't the nicest.

went shopping at golden square and had a visit to scoop. we could not make are minds up which ice cream to have, in the end went for the lime ice cream. well i must say did not taste of lime but of vinilla ice cream that was turned green with food die.will not go there again.

A long wait in the queue, the teenage girls serving seemed more interested in their weekend plans than seeing to the customers. Toilets were dirty, most of the tables dirty and the floor disgusting. Ice cream was nice but the coffee was dismal, the milk was over boiled and they didn't purge the milk wand before reheating the milk. I didn't drink it, but thought complaining would be futile.

It is a shame that this place has gone down hill so quickly. While the paninis are fair, the milkshakes and ice creams aren't. There are far nicer places to eat and drink at.

Been a few times, generally every visit to warrington incurs a visit to scoop.

Customer service ok. Food ok. Not clean tables. Not clean toilets. Nice ice cream! Better places to eat if not in a rush.

I visited this cafe with my daughter. We had a panini that was lukewarm inside. They got the order wrong as well. When I had a look around a lot of the tables were cluttered with used dishes and cups. But the worst was the display cabinet. It looked like it had not been cleaned for God knows how long . Not just the glass front , the vent and sides were really dirty. I will not be visiting again.

Ordered a panini and baked potato and two coffees today. The coffees were made fairly quickly but my husband's coffee was very bitter so I ended up buying him a sprite which came out of a cooler but it was room temp. After waiting over 20 mins I asked where our food was and they couldn't find our order despite us already paying for it and them making the coffees. No apology or explanation! We asked for a refund which they gave us for the food but not the undrinkable coffee. Not impressed with coffee or customer service.

Something must have changed here, we always stop off for an ice cream but today's was very poor with absolutely no taste. Thornton is just around the corner

New owners...new rules....The Cafe is very dirty,neglected I would even say.Toilets omg I never saw such a dirt anywhere I could only imagine how the kitchen look like.Staf rude,scruffy and lazy.The table not been clean forever...realy not what it was before...never go there again.People should avoid places like that.

My kids love it here, kids meal includes ice cream, any flavour, the staff are always friendly and the food is served quick and hot.

Asked for a menu and were given a few copies, went to the table to decide on the order and after the children has selected we returned to the counter to order only to be told that 4 of the 6 things we wanted to order were not available - its an old menu we were told and we don't do these any more. The star were miserable bordering on rude so we went elsewhere. Suggest you try Bap it was service with a smile. We had been here a couple of years ago and it was miles better then today.

Called in for toast and a coffee, my husband sat down whilst I stood at the counter to place our order, my husband phoned me from the table to tell me to ask the staff to come and clean it as it was minging, I did as he asked n the lady manager came at me with "my cafe is not dirty". When I sat down she came across n verbally attacked my husband n was telling him not to speak using his own words or British language, she made an absolute scene and was very aggressive and rude, never coming here again!

I visit scoop today, this wasn't my first visit and previous visits the food was great, however today was a totally different story. I had ordered a chocolate sundae, it came and I started to eat it, the chocolate ice was fine but when I began to eat the vanilla ice cream there was a unbelievably strong taste of only what I can describe as cleaning product, I made my friend taste it to make sure I was right, instantly she said exactly the same... As if that wasn't bad enough, I took the ice cream back up to the counter and told the manager that the ice cream did taste right, her reply was "what do you want me to do about it" well tasting it would be a good start!!! She then stated that they had been serving it all day and that nobody else had complained! She then basically implied that I was saying that the sundae tasted awful to get my money back!! All £3.50 of it.. I would like to state that I didn't even bother getting a refund for the rude member of staff! I will not be returning to the cafe nor will any of my friends whom are regulars. Think a course in customer service is much needed, not to mention food hygiene!!!!!!

Staff seem unhappy on first impressions, food and drink is ok but they could do so much better. Sandwiches and baguettes etc served without a side salad, just small attention to detail is needed.

5* really nice icream all kinds of different flavour. New flavour's regularly being on sale . Eating ing is just as nice table regularly getting cleaned I would recommend it ..

Went for a quick lunch we ordered after standing at the till for several minutes while staff kept walking past us, we then went to find a table there wasnt many customers so lots of free tables however they all needed clearing after clearing and wiping our own table my panini arrived which was perfectly fine cant really go wrong with a sandwich however i had finished eating it before my sons childrens box arrived surley should all arrive at the same time not 15 minutes later it was only a cheese sandwich and a packet of crisp so dont know what took so long would understand if they were extreamly busy but there wasnt many customers in there the food was fine no complaints with what we received and the ice cream was lovely ....... the toilets were absolutely disgusting we didnt end up using them went elsewhere

I am totally disgusted with the lack of customer service in this place I wondered why we'd not been here before and now I know they tool my order and my money then got the latte to go done in a matter of minutes but the milkshake that is made of ice cream took an age to come when I asked would it be long the lady

If your busy and want to stop off for a bacon buttie or toast then this is the place for you. The lattes are great with a shot I particularly like the hazelnut shot. Plenty of seating. Fast and courteous.

Called in for a coffee, staff very polite and friendly. Didn't eat this time but have done before and it was good, food is fresh.

Delicious ice cream, apparently locally made. We love it! Worth getting an ice cream and taking it down the Palmyra square if the weather's nice.

After standing in line for around 5 minutes watching staff talking I was finally served. Smoothies are fantastic & well priced. Poor service lets this venue down.

My go-to place on a hot sunny day. The ice cream is always delicious, with a great range and the scoops you get served are huge! Love it.

I went to Scoop Ice Cream bar with a friend, and her young son. There was a good variety of ice creams, and was very good. The staff was friendly, and good service. We ate in the cafe, which had a family friendly atmosphere, we had a nice afternoon.

Everytime we visit Warrington Golden square mall, one place we always visit is this shop. We love the ice cream there. Place is family friendly and with good service.

Visited on Saturday just before lunch. Wasn't very busy had plenty of staff on, so I went to get a table along with a highchair, I was shocked to say every high chair was filthy. I wiped down one myself in full view of one member of staff who did nothing about it. I then picked up a menu on the table which again was filthy and sticky went to swap it with a menu on the next table that one was even worse. I wanted to leave but hubby wanted just a sit down and a drink after shopping I reluctantly agreed. I ordered our drinks I was very pleasant said hello and ordered, I have to say not one member of staff smiled. It could be forgiven if they were busy but they was not, I also noticed the customer in front of me wasn't impressed with the service either. It's such a shame because the coffee and food was good, it's the attention to detail that's missing and friendly smile or hello would make a big difference.

Still searching for a cafe suitable for acting as a base for writers displaced by closure of near-by Hatter's Coffee Shop. This could be a possible: friendly greeting, clesn, good strong coffee, edible cakes and room to walk to a table without falling over other customers. There's Wi-fi and a small selection of newspapers. Only downside is the minute size of the tables - big enough to hold a cup and saucer x 2 but the laptop would have to be just that!

I have been into Scoop before probably twelve months ago and it was lovely but not today ! had to wait in the queue for 15 mins fair enough they were busy and prob not enough staff. I ordered the carrot and coriander soup with fresh crusty bread and butter and my husband ordered cheese and bean baked potato.I asked if it was a decent size of crusty bread and the assistant said it was.

Nice selection of sandwiches and the ice cream is to die for. Pleasant seating area. Good place to meet friends and my Grandson loves the ice cream which means I can sit and have a relaxing cup of coffee whilst he enjoys his iceceam

Food was extremely overpriced and horrible, had a toastie , full of oil. Cheese was funky and when I complained the girl just replied with its not her problem. extremely rude will not be returning.

The ice cream from scoop is fantastic there is plenty of choice to choose from although it's slightly over priced. The sandwich are also nice and plenty of choice.

It seems a bit pricey but so are the rest of the coffee shops in the golden square and the decor needs updating as its looking a bit shabby now however my visits are always enjoyable as they serve the best tuna melt pannini in Warrington and the cakes are lovely to.
