Don't bother looking for a better bar in Manchester!

This is the standard all cocktail bars should strive towards. Atmosphere, knowledgeable and friendly staff, great drinks.. highly recommend.

Quality service and the drinks are perfect one of the best manhatton I've ever had, served by Rory a top barman and great salesman new how to make a great cocktail and how to sell it. All in all I enjoyed my visit, not cheap but what you pay for is quality and this place is.

Came on a quiet Wednesday afternoon, service from Rory was attentive but not over bearing, such a relaxed atmosphere and didn't feel put of place 100% recommend and we will be back

What a great place this is! The drinks, the atmosphere, the music, the service, everything is five star! Though not cheap, it is worth every penny - we ended up going two nights in a row and every time felt like we’ve been with friends. Will definitely go back on our next visit.

Great cocktails, made bitter by the terrible service. We pre-booked for the amount of people in our party for our friends’ shared birthday. For no apparent reason they split our tables and sat a couple between us, they made the request for one person to sit on their own on the split table and then when the rest of group turned up they wouldn’t let them in - even though we had reserved the correct number of places, and are a polite, middle-aged group. When there are challenges, it’s the way you address it. We didn’t understand the issue so we cancelled our next round which was ~£150 of lost revenue and left - plus I will never go there again. I hate rudeness & bad service, no need for it.

Killer cocktails in a chilled but professional atmosphere. There's some totally unique cocktails mixed with some classics (& you can order any cocktail you like) with exceptional cocktail makers that are extraordinarily knowledgeable and with skills off the charts. Well worth a visit, a great experience with world class cocktails.

How can I not rate this place... Wow. I stumbled across it whilst looking on google for somewhere to go and knew I wanted to try it straight away. What can I say... From the moment we arrived at the door until the moment we left we were looked after with the best customer service I have ever received, anywhere, FULL STOP. The cocktails were seriously on point, strong as hell by the way, I only had 2 and was whisked away to a merry tipsy land, definitely get what you pay for. We even got a free show as some of the customers were a barbershop quartet and unexpectedly got up and started singing. They were great too! The music playing was also just banger after banger. Needless to say, this is now my favourite place and I will be returning. All of the praise, whatever it is that you guys are doing, keep doing it because there really is nowhere like it anymore. WELL DONE!

Went in during the day on the 27th. Excellent drinks, excellent food, excellent service. Can't say fairer than that.

Definitely one of the best bars in Manchester. Service is always 10/10 and very obvious difference when coming from The Ivy or 20 stories where it's 50/50 on whether you receive good service

Probably the best bar I’ve visited for quality of drinks and that old school ambient vibe. The Bloody Mary is spot on.

The music vibe, mostly Brit pop, adds to the experience. Tried a few drinks, and the classic Irish coffee was an absolute delight! 🍸🎶

Faultless. Everything from the doorman to the tunes in the toilet were spot on! Very attentive, friendly staff, good vibes and comfy and cosy. We returned twice to try get in and were lucky that someone didn't turn up to their reservation so we nabbed their table. Would book next time. The Irish Coffee Cocktail and Silver Fox was delicious. Can't wait to return to try more and some food.

The music was a little loud for easy conversation but the cocktails were immense!

Not including VAT in price of a drink is a scam. Charging £15 for a woodford old fashioned is a scam. Music was any dive bars basic playlist. Not a single original cocktail on the menu (and none i haven't tried better, and cheaper in other top 50 style bars). Drink presentation was poor, in an unchilled glass. Cocktail ingredients and aesthetic simply don't match the abhorant price. Service was okay, I'm not writing the date or time of my visit because the bartender was lovely and none of these issues have anything to do with them. But more, fundamental issues with the menu, bottom shelf ingredients at top shelf prices, and terrible music. P.S, I don't mind paying £15 for a cocktail. I've been to some of the best bars in Manchester and London and never felt buyers remorse from any of them. I just don't get it. Everyone I know seems to love the spot so, maybe I'm just wrong.

Really lovely experience at Schofields for my birthday yesterday. All staff were extremely attentive & friendly. Drinks were gorgeous too. A special shout out to Emily who really did go above & beyond. By no means the cheapest cocktail bar in Manchester but most definitely one of the best!!!

Not for mums! Lovely sunny day in Manchester today and two friends and I fancied a bevvie outside in the nice weather. 2pm, wanting to sit outside, 3 ladies were turned away because we had prams with newborns in. The venue states they have an over 18s policy that meant my 9 week old daughter couldn’t be in the pram next to me while I enjoyed a mocktail. We left very embarrassed and upset that our custom wasn’t welcome because we are mothers. These were not toddlers that would be disruptive, but new born babies who sleep 90% of the day. Got the impression that having three prams outside was not in line with their style. Very disappointing and backwards attitude that discriminates against mothers.

Call first a few weeks back after seeing the bar I. Top 50 bars count and so glad we did. We’ve been back since and love the place. Very easy to just walk past and miss but that’s part of the attraction. Once you’re in the service is impeccable, actually the best service in a bar I’ve ever received. The drinks are great and Tom on the bar was able to make all sorts of cocktails of my choice and his own which weren’t on the menu. Very knowledgeable staff all round and look forward to our next visit.

What a great place. Nipped in for a cocktail on recommendation. Stayed for more. Really different and we'll put together cocktails. A lot of thought has gone into these. The service was fab and so so friendly. Shame I don't live in Manchester anymore 😭 ps I love the bar decor and the beautiful glasses too ❤️

Schofield's is THE PLACE. I've been coming here since it first opened and I honestly can't get enough. The atmosphere is always welcoming, the drinks 🍸 taste delish and the staff are all amazing and so attentive. I visited on Saturday just gone and could of stayed there for hours (although I did stay until closing time...but that says it all!) I can't wait until I go back again and finish off the menu. Typical city centre prices but the staff were helpful, polite and extremely knowledgeable.

We went here for a pre-drink for my friend’s hen do yesterday lunchtime. The young man who served us was incredibly attentive and knowledgeable, he ensured our water was kept topped up and made us a drink that wasn’t on the menu based on our taste. We ordered a drink that we really really didn’t like (it was our fault) and although we were going to pay for it and drink it still, he offered to discard it and make a different one as he said that he didn’t like the thought of us sitting with a drink that we didn’t like. He didn’t charge us for the drink either. Excellent service, I would defiantly recommend going here! Thank you so much! 💫

One of the top rated cocktail bars in Manchester didn’t disappoint. Quality Negronis using an English Vermouth. A Martinez and a smoky Mescal Margherita - all delivered balanced and authentic flavours. Thanks to Connor the barman for looking after us splendidly! Booking in advance is recommended!

The bar it’s self is lovely, great vibes And staff were attentive and helpful. But tested them on my White Russian, I know it’s in or cool to hav this chunk of ice, but for me it just didn’t work, not with a White Russian that you like to stir or mix together, nah Defo wudnt recommend and return for me.

After hearing good things about Schofields we thought we would take a visit. We were not disappoint at all, from the moment you arrive you are met by super courteous member of their team and as you are taken to your seat greeted by all the front of house team. The service was second to none and the cocktails were amazing. The atmosphere and the decor are gorgeous and you are truly made to feel welcome. We will be going back

By far the best Old Fashioned cocktail around. Relaxed vibe with excellent drinks and attentive staff. Highly recommended for a relaxed cocktail with friends. The olives are good too!

Excellent service from start to finish. Superb atmosphere and the staff were all so friendly and welcoming, it’s felt like a family. Excellent little touches for example they put your drink in the freezer when you nip out for a smoke then return it to you as soon as you come back in! Will definitely be back.

Very Expensive Ice Waited outside for a few minutes waiting for a table to become free (as you couldn’t book online in advance) then we were shown to a nice table with some banquette seating. We were given glasses of water and after a while our cocktail order was taken ( for 4 people). Some time later the cocktails arrived. So it’s just under £12 per cocktail and we had 2 - a negroni and a Bloody Mary. Both had huge blocks of ice in the centre of the glass. With the negroni this meant you got three slurps and then you were left with a huge block of ice. So £3 a slurp, with the Bloody Mary it lasted a bit longer but every time I took a swig the column of ice smashed against my teeth. Personally I liked the 1969-71 hits played over the sound system but the volume was quite high and made conversation difficult. The other 2 drinks were a g&t and a glass of red, so with the £5+ service charge it was just under £50 for 4 drinks, one of which ran out after 5 minutes. Not really value for the money paid and probably not something we will repeat.

I loved it here. A bar with a difference. Friendly yet professional staff, right from the door, you could tell. There's a wide variety of drinks to choose from, you should find something you love on the menu, you can visit their Instagram to know your drinks before you arrive. Luckily, there was live music on the Sunday I visited, which further made my experience a lively one. The bar is very suitable for couples.

Excellent atmosphere, combined with friendly and attentive staff. It's certainly worth calling in. Look forward to visiting again soon.

Amazing bar with great cocktails! Definitely make a reservation to avoid disappointment. We went back twice and they eventually seated us at the bar. My fiancé and I are trying to go to all of the top 50 best bars and this one was in the rankings. All the drinks we tried were great, but definitely get the Irish coffee. It’s the best I’ve had! A must try if you enjoy crafted cocktails and you’re in Manchester for the night. Also, our bartender was so much fun and made it a great experience!

Worth the wait as it can be difficult to get in at peak times. Very friendly staff and very attentive, always keeping your water topped up which is required when you are polishing the cocktails off at a rate of knots! Their own take on XO Cafe Patron is divine and makes a perfect nightcap!

I've had great experiences visiting this place. The effort and quality that has gone into the venue and the level of customer service they provide definitely makes it one of the nicer venues in Manchester. Premium, but worth it.

Went on a quiet Sunday afternoon. Excellent service, very good cocktails with a great variety to choose from. Just not sure the country music matched the vibe of the place. Will return to try some more from the menu.

1st time visited and really liked it. Went for a couple of afternoon cocktails. Excellent range of expertly prepared cocktails, staff very knowledgeable & helpful. Only minor criticism was the music volume but they turned it down when I asked and was probably my own fault for sitting under the speakers. Will be going again

Expensive, but I understand you are paying for the exclusivity. Owners need to pay their staff better, that's the way I interpret them trying to sneak a service charge on as you are paying, what country is this.

Pretentious bar with extremely rude staff. Cocktails average at best. There are plenty of other decent bars in the city where the staff are not up themselves. Avoid.

This place used to be perfect. Incredible drinks and an atmosphere to match with jazz and mid century vibes. The drinks have still been great, but now you get peppered with the type of music you’d hear on a radio 2 mega mix and it completely cheapens and ruins the experience. It’s raining men, to dolly parton 9 to 5 and to put the cherry on top, mr brightside by the killers - seriously.. Please revert back to form because I don’t want to have to find a new favourite cocktail bar

What a place! Schofield’s bar is the true essence of what bar tendering is all about. I visited here on Sunday with my partner for the first time, we both got sat at our table and instantly met with a smiley face who couldn’t wait to help - so professional & knowledgeable! I told the bar tender what spirits I prefer and flavours, to then order 3 separate cocktails off his recommendation, I love a blind order, especially when like here; they know what they are doing! They did not disappoint! All the staff were attentive, well trained, professional and couldn’t do more for us. We’ll certainly be back & would highly recommend to anyone considering visiting! Charming bar hidden away from the main streets of Deansgate. The team clearly know what they’re doing, very hospitable and skilled. However, one thing that happened threw me off. I ordered a cocktail, as i tried it, I realized that it was not for me; one of the bartenders asked me if i liked it, and I admitted that it was not my taste. So, they offered me to choose something else instead. Once i have, the old cocktail was taken away. I assumed that the replacement would be free of charge; however, once we got the bill, I discovered that i had to pay for the old one! I never said anything, and yet, it remained in my mind. Hopefully this review would give me somewhat of a closure.

You can't book so we turned up and they asked if we had a reservation. Which is odd because you can't book. They said 45 mins. So we came back 45 mins later and they again asked if we had reserved which we replied you can't. To be turned away again. You need a better system

Top class service, sorry we can’t remember the girls name! Lots of recommendations of cocktails. We had an almond margarita and more! Amazing! Great mid Saturday drinks, would advise to book later on though. Thank you
