Food good but I ordered 2 sausages and 3 portions of chips and they forgot one of my sausages.

Had fish, chips and curry sauce. The curry was so salty I couldn't eat my tea as I poured it all over. First bad experience from here.

Lovely food, live in brookhouse but will come to scale hall plaice for fish and chips.

Great chippy, super clean and lovely staff. Crispy chips and a huge portion of food. The fish was cooked to perfection batter was amazing and home made tarter sauce is a must

Called in here tonight and placed an order which came to £26.80p. On arrival back home after getting through teatime traffic, I found that the steak pudding I ordered was missing. Very disappointing.

Disappointing Fish and Chips I was very disappointed with the fish and chips I had this evening. The batter was extremely hard, the food was overly greasy, and, to top it off, it was served cold. I was expecting a much better experience and unfortunately, it fell far short of expectations.

Love this little chippy, staff are always very friendly and the food is always great! You don't have to wait long for your order either!

Only customer in at the time. Staff very polite and attentive. Place was very clean and well maintained. Chips a little light in colour but that is just my personal preference. Overall a good chippy

Gutted as my son goes here when at college and said it was lovely. We decided to try as our normal chippy wasn’t the best last time. The food arrived on time but wasn’t hot. The sausage was all mush because it was cold the chips were barely warm

Oh my days, the fish just falls apart, and the fish in the small bites is big, really good value for money, the chicken bites also are good value for money six pieces, battered sausage is large too, curry sauce is so good not spicy, delivered before time too, thank you, I'm stuffed 🙏

Called to get Fish and Chips on recommendations from family. Lovely shop, clean and modern. Friendly staff. Ordered 2 lightly battered Cod and large chips. The order was boxed in cardboard boxes with greaseproof paper between the fish. Once home the meal was plated up. The fish was beautifully cooked, the batter was very lite and crisp. The chips were great. All in all the best fish n chips I have eaten in a long time. Price wise x2 fish 1 large chips £17. I Fully recommend The Scalehall Place Chippy.

Probably because we went between busy times but chips had clearly been kept. We’ll try during a busy time to try and get fresher chips.

Looked bad (pudding squashed and spread in bits over the chips due to being forced in to a tray) and managed to taste even worse, greasy and lukewarm. Also over priced, never again.

Just a chippy not like it was when first opened had a yorkshire fishcake potatoes was under cooked chips nothing special won't go back sorry

We ordered through Morecambe eats yesterday, never ordered from you before but always Hurd good things. We had family around who love a good fish and chips. We had a big order. Food arrived hot and big portions!! - we ordered the small fish and chip and yet the portion was still great. Definitely be ordering again

Ordered off Morecambe eats the chips was inedible very overdone and loads of black in them had to chuck them all away waste of my money I can say the fish was lovely that's about it

Just like to say we often get orders from here and we just got another tonight and they certainly don't disapoint the chips get better and better each time me and m6 daughter very much enjoyed them and they were fast at delivering. A very well done to all the staff thank you very much xx

Chips are disgusting and fish was small and greasy. Used to be the best chippy in the area but it didn't last long. It's gone seriously downhill. Considering the price of fish and chips now, it's not worth risking such disgusting food again.

**Editing to say I have now received a refund for the missing items which is very much appreciated. I just have to note though it is disappointing that the team member who corresponded with me via Facebook felt it necessary to bring up the review I had written and went on to try and turn the tables around very unprofessionally claiming I had messaged at 1am in the morning which was never the case at all. Reviews are part and parcel of all businesses and most will take on criticism and make improvements in order to help them succeed, after all it is the customer keeping the lights on so feedback should be welcomed. As mentioned the food was really good but the customer service has proved on this occasion to be severely lacking.** Sadly I am leaving a poor review. The review is based on the service. The food itself was warm and good but some was missing. First order was spot on and lovely. Second order had items missing so I rang and was advised a manager would refund. This wasn't done so I chased via their Facebook messenger to be told they would look into it. Sadly this hasn't been done and there has been no communication whatsoever. I full appreciate that businesses have busy periods and items get missed but to promise a refund then not do it and to not follow up shows very poor customer service. Having looked at other customer reviews it appears they have a habit of missing items and promising refunds and not doing it. Such a shame that at a time businesses are struggling they don't seem interested in keeping customers. I will come back an update if I get the refund from them voluntarily or if I have to chase via my card provider.

Great friendly service and lovely fish and chip's..

Had a friend order food from here and offered to buy me a cheeky battered sausage and normally I have no complaints, but unfortunately this time isn't the case, whilst "enjoying" my food I managed to pull two hairs from the batter, this should of been my warning as overnight I suffered the worst gas leading to explosive a$$, the following day was no better leading to abdominal cramps during what turned out to be one of the most arduous dialysis sessions of my life. If their food hygiene rating is marked by my experience on this occasion I fear for another small business, running out of Scale Hall. Please do better. 1/10 "regretting my life choices"

The first time we ordered from here, it was delicious, on time & warm. The second time I ordered, our food was delivered early but missing the curry sauce. When I rang to complain, I received an apology & was told they don't employ their own delivery drivers so they couldn't send the curry sauce out, but they would issue me a refund... the refund never arrived! Tonight, I thought I would try again... once again the food arrived early, but it was barely warm & an order for 2 x battered sausage & chips arrived with only 1 battered sausage! After complaining before & nothing being done about it, I decided to just eat a very expensive portion of chips for my tea & learn from my mistakes of giving second chances... I will not be ordering from this chippy again!

Tryed this fish shop out first response layed back staff got fish and chips x2 first look in box good tast greasy and first bite 4 bones not good and forgot peas fish was that thin they must of used a bacon sliser £20.10 wasted lady did say she would change them but hate bones

The staff are all lovely especially the lady with the dark graduated bob (sorry I can't remember her name). The food is brilliant too.

We had small fish and chips with a sauce for £6.00 which we ate at the seating provided outside. Excellent customer service from very friendly and helpful staff nothing was too much trouble for them and the food was lovely. Can definitely recommend this chip shop

Excellent service and food, no long queue..

Its been a long journey and just needed a good chip shop. We had a small fish and mushy peas, salt and pepper chicken with chips. This chicken was freshly cooked and tasty. A little spicy so not for the faint hearted. Fish was freshly cooked, golden brown and crispy. Would recommend to anyone. Just a shame it isn't closer to us.

Best chippy I’ve had (and I’ve had a fair few!) Came here today with family over from Poland who desperately wanted to try ‘a proper English’ fish and chips. We tried here as it was closest to where they were staying (plus open all day) Portion sizes were great, fish lovely and batter light and not greasy at all. Chips cooked perfectly (a bit more so not pale) the best! Lovely seasoned peas - not bland and proper thick gravy and curry. All piping hot. Will definitely be back.

I have been collecting and now ordering from this chips shop since it opened. In fact I probably order more often than I should, but so far I think I have only had one meal when the fish wasn't perfect. Every other time the food has always been delivered piping hot and fresh. The fish is beautiful and always perfectly cooked and crispy. The delivery drivers are always really friendly and on time and the girls in the shop are lovely.

We thought we were lucky when we found this chippy and from its opening until last night have recommended to everyone we know. Unfortunately something massive has gone wrong, last nights fish and chips were, I’m sorry to say the worst I can remember eating, I ate a quarter, if that much. If you were the best, in my mind, how has the food slipped to have been a waste of money yesterday?

Disappointed with the chips - had a similar experience 12 months ago & thought we’d try again - the fish was hot, tasty & fresh - the chips not so. We live 2 streets away & the chips were lukewarm (as 12 months ago) & looked & tasted as though they were lunchtime’s reheated - paid £5.80 for 2 portions total waste of money - outrageous in this economic climate - it’s safe to say we will NEVER buy chips from this establishment again but would definitely buy their fish again - why they have to serve old lukewarm chips will forever remain a mystery

Full marks, great food, great service, lovely staff, always a chilled out vibe when waiting for food (evening time) and there are seats while you wait.. Plus Mandy works here, and I need to give full marks for that as well, so there's that 👍🏻

4.5 out of 5 stars average rating?! My partner ordered from you lot today! If I could score zero I would! Large portions of chips priced at £3.20 each and I feel robbed! Not only were they less than adequate sized, barely warm upon delivery! No a penny more from me in future!

Bought 3 'large' chips thinking this was a proper chippy but very disappointed, the only reason for ordering from here was because barleycop chippy was closed Safe to say will never order from here again .........even the dog didn't eat the sausage?!?

1st time visit as I am visiting family. My 1st impression was how clean it looked. I only had to wait about 1 minute for my order to be taken. Fish was put in fresh. Got them home and they were delicious. Will go to this chippy on my next visit even though it is not the closest.

I tried this place last week for the first time and I keep going back for more. The food is great, the best I've tried in the area... Delivery is excellent too... Xx

The fish and chips here are far superior to any others in the local area. They were freshly cooked, served by happy and chatty staff who knew what they were doing. It was a pleasure to visit and a real pleasure to eat

The food was very late, quite cold and absolutely soggy. Used this pleace a few times and generally it's been nice. Mist admit its put us off a wee bit.

Just had the worst chippy tea of my life Freezing cold and greasey- was number 48

I got the feast box huge meal because I thought I'd be able to finish it myself. I definitely couldn't. Scampi is frozen so nothing special. The fishcake was a bit tasteless but a welcome change of texture. Not too bad. The fish was crispy even after delivery and tasty. The chips weren't greasy or anything. Could've been crispier for my taste but not bad and there was a lot of them. Chippy sausage is always the same but I like them. The onion rings were fresh made, huge and very nice. A little greasy but dipped in gravy or sauce tackles it. The gravy itself tasted nice but was a bit thick for me. Didn't really pour. I would definitely recommend this place.

First time we’ve been to Scale Hall Plaice. Fish cooked to order and very nice. Chips good too. Choice of Lite bites if you prefer that are good value. Worth a visit.

Passing through Lancaster. I was quite peckish and fancied a chippy tea. One quick Google search later. I’m glad I stopped off at this chippy. The chips were delicious. If I’m ever in the area again I will be back for more. Staff were polite and the place was spotlessly clean as expected.

Best food from any chip shop in the area. Lovely shop and wonderful staff. I've only given 4 stars as you have a long wait for orders to be processed but faultless food.

Waited over half an hour in the car for our order. Inside were two big containers of grey chips that should have been in water waiting to be cooked. Consequently the chips were awful. Fish was nice. Curry sauce stone cold.
