An excellent chippy. Lovely fish and batter but not exactly a shark. Potato fritter was outstanding. Chips unfortunately were not done enough. Curry sauce was lovely. Overall pretty good especially the fish.

Very good quality fish & chips, yes it is maybe slightly higher cost than other chippys but you get what you pay for and costs are rising all round so you do expect to pay more for good food. The kids options are really good and just the right amount for the little ones, my little one had the mini fish and chips and the quality was just as good as ours which I like. Would definitely recommend!

Chips tasted like they were reheated, fish was the smallest we’ve ever seen and massively overpriced. This place has gone downhill. Avoid and find a better chippy.

Ok before I decided to post a review I thought I would email the shop direct but since I have had no reply I have to assume nobody gives a damm. I have used this chippy for several years because it used to be decent but the last 2 visits have been terrible due to small overcooked portions and not very welcoming staff. We ordered fish and chips on arrival and waited 10 minutes while it was " Freshly " cooked unfortunately people that had placed online orders where taken care of first which must be the reason our food was badly overcooked to the point that the fish was dried up in hard batter and it was the smallest fish I've ever had from any chippy. This happened last time but I thought I would put it down as a one off but this shows looking at all the recent reviews this chippy is on its way out unless something is done to improve it and they could start by responding before reviews are left on here

While stopping in Sandside we visited this lovely Fish and chip shop. If you love Fish and chips this is where to go.

Worst chips ever and grossly overpriced. I bought sausage and chips. The chips alone were £3.20 and awful. The sausage was overcooked and possibly older than me.

A decent chippy. We've only used it once whilst camping nearby, but the haddock and chips was well cooked and tasty. Prices are reasonable and portion size was spot on. Would use again if we're in the area.

This is our usual go to chip shop. On our last visit we found it a little disappointing. After placing an order for fish chips & gravy, sausage and chips. We got these home to find the chips were hardly cooked at all Off-White chips which tasted very starchy, in contrast to this, the fish was overdone, The only redeeming factor was the sausage and gravy were good. I've emailed the shop with our concerns but are yet to hear from them nearly a week later.

Well I don't know what went wrong at my favourite chippy last night but unfortunately my wife, granddaughter and me had the worst haddock and chips ever I should have taken them back really but I will change my review next time I return because this is a top chippy usually

Loved this cute little chippy. Potato Scollops are so nice, thin potato with heavy batter is just the best way to have them. Curry sauce was bland but apart from that Portion sizes ok too. Price was ok just the same as any other English chippy.

Confirmation code: KMJL Friday 24th May, '24. Really sad to say, we have had fish & chips (with mushy peas) quite a few times over the past 3 years, we have a caravan in B. L. S. and it has been a nice treat occasionally, but today they were very disappointing, fish small and over cooked, chips had been kept warm too long and dried out and peas were stodgey and dry. As previously they have been excellent will probably try once more . . . BUT certainly need to improve.

Cod fishcake was excellent. Nice chippy.

Worst chips I’ve purchased!!!! Local person have always bought from here but never again!!!! Dried up chips in my opinion looked like warmed up from day before bread was dry too staff looked like they couldn’t be bothered!!!! Expensive for what I got!!!! Wouldn’t be so bad if you got an apology and your money back you would in a restaurant!!!!

Quick service. Expensive. Undercooked fish, batter and chips. No salt and vinegar and curry sauce was somehow terrible. Ordered late so possibly my fault 7.30pm.

Quality food, busy little place portion size is on the small side for the price

It's a takeaway so no atmosphere to speak about. We visited on a bank holiday and the size of the fish was small and that's being kind, chips had been on heat for some time and could have been better. Certainly not impressed so won't be calling again.

Worst haddock I have ever had. Over cooked synthetic piece of fish worse than a school dinner. This chippy used to be the best. Now it's the worst. Stay clear.

Really nice chippy, not at all greasy and very good food. We ordered online which is good. Comes in cartons then in a nice paper bag. It's quite expensive but worth it for good quality.

Best fish and chips I've had for years

First time here after a walk along the canal and a cheeky pint in the nearby Royal Pub (also very good). One of the best Fish and Chips I’ve had for a while. Freshly cooked, good portion size and all recyclable packaging. Will defiantly be back soon.

This used to be a great chippy. Absolute rip off - I ordered a large chips and fish for £££ and there were hardly any chips and the fish was very small. I won’t be going again.

Just spent almost £40 on the worst F+c I’ve had in a long time! Xl fish was a lot of batter not a lot of fish, swimming in grease for almost a 10er Burger more bread than meat. Chips ok but pretty much cold as they sat under the fryer for 10 minutes waiting for the under average burger! Waited 30 mins while the staff bumbled about! To be fair all the other orders 4 after I ordered were in and out pretty quick and internet orders dealt with quickly all in all not impressed in the slightest I won’t be back, ever!

Best fish & chips around and service is great. Being able to order and pay on line with an exact pick up time makes life so easy. Fish is huge and nice and crispy, chips are lovely and not greasy. All sorts of extras like halloumi, burgers, etc No more expensive than anywhere else. Definitely recommend 👍

Had the Lite Bite £7.50 which was good. Served quickly however no card payment option.

Quick service, food very average I'm afraid- chips needed a bit longer. Just short of £17 for 2x large chips and 4x sausage. That's not the cheap, rare family treat I wanted. Perhaps the cost goes towards the fancy branded bags and boxes. Either way, it's too dear for a chippy, sorry.

Ordered The Lite Bite Meal £7.50. Supposedly small fish and chips and a choice of side I chose gravy. Haven eaten here on past holidays I was expecting more. But this place seriously gone down hill, I presume different owners. The small fish was watery and more batter and scraps than fish. If those chips where put through a chipper then it must cut perfectly as they was all the same width and length definitely tasted and looked like frozen oven chips!! The gravy was far too big and just got wasted, they should offer larger and smaller tub sizes. Also when the lad handed me my meal the box wasn't shut properly because of the gravy tub so I asked for a bag as , the food would have gone cold far too quickly without, I got looked at like I had asked for 100 bags!! It wasn't handed properly to me and I had to reach over to get it. Definitely wouldn't recommend to anyone.

So disappointed. Ordered 2 lightly battered. They forgot our order! Then when prompted, served 2 small haddock wit raw chips. £20.90 . Will go to Atkinsons in future!

We decided to use here as our usual chippy was too busy. I guess that just proves the difference. Here the fish was sloppy and tasteless, the chips were good and the curry lovely. Not a fan of the takeaway boxes, they leak and we ended up with grease stains on our trousers. All in all in wasn’t horrendous but we won’t return

Nice chip bun and curry sauce. Can of pop is expensive though. Great service which was quick and friendly. Would definitely recommend and will be going back soon to try more of their items on the menu

Called in after seeing the 4.8 star review and it didn’t disappoint! Very professional lads frying and serving. Looks very clean and well set out. Personalised boxes and bags with Packet Bridge fish and chips printed on looked mint and do a lot for advertisement, Far better then cheaper ones. Fish and chips were cook perfectly and were fresh and curry sauce was one of the best I’ve had. Looking forward to the next visit defo 5*

Was a great chippy in the past but quality and quantity massively decreased. Light bite fish and chips not worth 7.50 and the curry sauce is very thin and watery now (was great in the past). We'll sadly have to look for a new chippy

After a tiring day moving to the area, a chippy tea is a treat you look forward to. However the chips were hard and under cooked. Fish cake inedible and £3.50 for a sausage is a joke. Will not be using this establishment in future. If they can't cook chips, I wouldn't bother opening the doors.

I know the price of fish has gone up but this was hideously expensive for everything, not just the fish & chips with their fancy packaging. Wrap it in paper,I don't care. The fish I got was long and thin like a jumbo sausage. I have never seen a fish so skinny and long, I would not of served that and i don't think it was cod like it said on the receipt but it came with a cod price tag. It wasn't even tasty, it was watery and the batter was soggy near the middle, there was plenty of chips though. It was all a little disappointing really and £23 for 2 fish & chips n a curry sauce is a bit steep compared to other chippys nearby.

In complete order yet again. A few weeks ago we were short in our order. To which we was told to come back for what was missing. Last night was the same things missing from our order. Sorry won't be stung a third time. Won't be going back again.

Best fish and chips I've had in ages

We live in Bolton le Sands and used to love this chippy but it has seriously gone downhill recently. Our fish coujons were well overcooked, consisting of thick batter with very little fish. The lightly battered fish was thick crunchy batter, not what was ordered. The large chips were anaemic and a tiny portion. The prices have risen but the quality of the food leaves a lot to be desired. Lots of young staff and not enough quality control especially at busy times. We will be giving this chip shop a miss from now on.

Food was nice, however, over priced for a chippy tea& absolutely for the portions you get. I do think if they spent a little less on the fancy packaging (which there is seriously no need for..) and lowered their prices a little bit, would be so much better value for money

Absolutely disgusting greasy fish mush for chips,the burger was so thin and rock hard no option for butter on the dry bun actually hurt my throat trying to get It down ,cheapest of the cheap burgers absolute cheek serving it never mind charging for it ,as you will see on your till receipt we didn't get there till 7.45so by the time we were served it it was after 8pm,closing time by the time we had parked up to eat them,there is no excuse for serving and charging for this awful food ,the burger was definitely not freshly cooked fo us think it had been a left over from dinner look at the pic and tell me that's alright to serve to somebody let alone charge them for it ,

I live in Preston and travel to Morecambe frequently, and this is my favourite pit stop. Real chunky cod in proper batter with very tasty chips cooked to perfection every time 👍

I have been here a few times and previously the food has always been really good quality. The fish and chips serving size is generous (particularly the chips) and comes in a great box which you can eat straight out of. However on my most recent visit here I noticed the food quality wasn't as good as it used to be. The chips had black bits in quite a lot of them, and the fish was rather small but then layered in batter to make it seem bigger. Quite disappointing considering I have always had a good experience before this (hence 4 stars)

This is a chippie but much smarter and more modern than average - with online ordering and smart, branded bags to take you food home in. (You can still rack up and queue and pay with real money, too!). It was the last half hour on a Friday tea-time but they were flat out. Everything was cooked to order and typical/good quality. I was slightly put out at the £1.50 charge each for peas, gravy and curry.

Good food, always order online. This week however saw some questionable hygiene practices. Lad on the till handling money then turned and picked up pots to dish out peas/gravy/curry sauce without washing hands. He picked pots off the stack by putting his fingers inside the pots thereby transferring whatever was on on the money (High microbial content) into pots that people's condiments were then dished out into.

This was our first visit and we were not disappointed. We both had scampi and chips. The service was good and food excellent We will definitely be returning.

Unfortunately, this was my second visit in which I have to say the chips again were undercooked the fish was nice but it’s so thin. Curry sauce, and chicken and mushroom pie luke , warm. So I’ll give this fish and chip shop a miss from now on and do the extra journey to Arnside.😕

I haven't used this Chippy for years and years but the food was just as good as I remember it. Haddock beautifully cooked, chips just as I like them. Although we live north of Halton village the food was worth the drive and we will definitely visit again.

Have been using packet bridge for some time now and have found them to be very good however the last two visits not good at all … a Mother’s Day treat for myself and family spending £54 and the fish was not good , the oil on the batter tasted old and the chips barely saw the fryer anemic and undercooked … 4 of us have been badly with stomach upset since and I’m afraid that is us put right off any future visits

Usually very good. The best around however not yesterday. Fish was more like half a fish, very skinny and thin and not great batter. Disappointed to say the least.

Nice dedicated fish and chip shop. The fish doesn't seem to be cod, the chips are crunchy outside and fluffy inside, very satisfying.

This fish and chip shop must have changed hands since my last review in 2019. On my latest recent visit the fish was ok, but not as good as last time, but the chips were awful. Undercooked soggy and cold. It was also expensive at £20 for fish and chips for 2. A shame, but I don't think I'll visit again.

Just called in to feed family of four. Stood 5 minutes waiting to be served, They were busy to be honest. Guy walks in with blue jacket on and gets served straight away! Well you can shove your chips!!!!!!!!!!

I've only ever eaten fish and chips with mushy peas from here but for me they are the best in the area. Ordering before collecting is very easy on their app and the staff are friendly and efficient. Plus, in the summertime, just up the hill you can walk down to the canal, take a seat and watch the swans with their sygnets, the ducks, the canal boats and enjoy your meal.

Lovely fish and delicious mushy peas. Just what we were after! I had the haddock and it was great, good taste and texture and the batter was lovely and crispy, perfect amount. Peas were warm and comforting, and perfectly seasoned. Would definitely order again!

Great Friday chippy tea at end of a hard week,lovely freshly cooked produce and tasty crispy batter all fully cooked and not sloppy or dripping in fat but can get very busy,guess thats a sign how popular it is

Got to be the worst chippy ever - this is the 3rd time we tried and never again. Meat pies pinged in the microwave and burnt the bottom and chips half cooked - terrible terrible - they should be ashamed

I feel impelled to comment on this awesome fish and chip shop. I used to live in BLS 40 odd years ago and recall with fondness going to the chippy after a few beers in the old packet boat hotel. I was visiting my mother and stopped here when out for a walk. Ive eaten in some of the finest restaurants across the world and visited some fabulous fish and chip restaurants throughout the UK - including the famous chippy in Anstruther that Tom Hanks visited by helicopter. I have to say these f&c were top quality. Beautifully cooked - perfect batter - fleshy cod - perfectly seasoned - perfect chips - and lovely mushy peas. Hi quality - perfectly packaged in a box - went down a treat. Reasonably priced. Cannot recommend highly enough. Cant help but think some expensive restaurants could learn a lesson or 2 on how to cook fish !!! Well done boys - great job.

We ordered on line - collection time was specified. The order was ready exactly on time. The fish and chips were delicious. We had ordered for a family lunch and everyone really enjoyed it. The batter was not thick and the fish was cooked perfectly....
