An appalling place. I booked a table to watch the rugby. On arrival I could not find my table. They were all booked. I showed my confirmation email. "Ah, yes, that shouldn't have been sent", said the manager. "Computer error". And then wandered off to serve some other mug. No apology. No offer of a drink on the house. Nothing. It was a dump frequented by chavs when it was a Yates Wine Bar and its a dump now. I wouldn't go in here again if they paid me, which they wouldn't. Nil stars.

I am currently waiting for a single slice of cheese cake i ordered over an hour ago… I have asked two different members of staff and they have assured me it on its way… I am starting to think it is being imported from France or something? The rest of my order came out after 20 minute (which is still a while for a pre-made, frozen slice of cake) . Staff seem to be very unbothered and not particularly friendly. The bartender also told me they had been court serving underage people alcohol last week? I didn’t ask… but it does explain a lot.

All in all a pretty poor offering on the food front, between the 3 of us we had 3 different descriptions of chicken, although exactly the same product was used for each, all were overcooked & dried out. Chips were undercooked, limp & cold, & any salad was obviously straight out of a bag & a few days old. Its a bit of a shame as the staff are always friendly & keep the place reasonably clean, & my grandson loves the multiple sports screens. We have now reverted back to the Penny where the food is far superior, & slightly cheaper.

Returned again after a lovely visit last year . Lovely pub . Private booths are excellent to watch match’s . Quick service . Well done to staff

Staff here are always friendly and helpful despite how busy they are. 🌟 We normally come for Sunday lunch but it was a Saturday and very busy but the staff are always friendly and polite.

amazing atmosphere was easy listening early evening to my meeting but as the evening got later the lights came down and music went up without me realising it happened. This pub is fabulous drinks are well priced and there is a good selection the food. The food is incredible value for money and well presented, portions are really generous. The surroundings are great and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. The manager is fantastic and nothing is too much trouble for him. This is one of the best pubs ive been in ever highly reccommend a visit you wont be dissapointed.

Lovely welcoming friendly staff, quick service. Perhaps menu change to offer a fresh pineapple instead of grilled. Takes the flavour away. The Onion Bhaji bites are better without a sauce if I can suggest from my personal experience. The Sticky Toffee pudding was absolutely amazing. Very Spicy and flavoursome. Love my friend and my weekly visit.

Lacked a bit of atmosphere and staff were not the friendliest. Large area with big screen at the end and lots of TVs for sport. Best thing was the booths with charging points and your own television

We visited the Lamb to try there food as we hadn't eaten there since the refurb, we ordered 3 full English breakfasts and 3 teas at 11am and was told it was a 30 to 40 minute wait for food as they were busy ( about 25 people ).It took 30 minutes just for our tea to arrive, the food still hadn't arrived by 11.55 so we got a refund and left.We were disappointed so I filled the online form out with negative feedback and no response has been received from the pub or Stonegate themselves.AVOID FOR FOOD IF YOU WANT A REASONABLY QUICK SERVICE.

Went here for a couple of drinks on our Christmas Pub Crawl. It has been redecorated and the layout has been changed. A definite improvement and now I would call in again. Good beer at very reasonable prices. Staff friendly and efficient and a very clean environment.

The Saxon has had an extensive refurberation and a change of name to "The Lamb". Four of us had lunch at the Lamb on Christmas day, the food, staff and the manager were excellent and made us very welcome.

visited the Saxon today, now refurbished and under a new name. Refurbishing very good a pity about our food. Ordered the steak and ale pie with the vegetables and chips. these dishes were paid on the full price menu. Firstly the pie, hard pastry lots of gravy but very little meat and the meat in it no bigger than my thumb nail and considering we paid on full price the portions were very small. I did tell the waitress we were not happy, she did say the usual sorry but that was it. So sorry we won't be eating with you again back to our usual, for better food and value.

Popped in here for a bite to eat, watch some footy as had done a day's shopping at the Village. Started with a large rose wine, and lager top, under £7.00, then decided to have a bite to eat 2 x handmade beef and ale pies (plenty of meat in them) with plenty of vegetables for £8.99 the pair. Plenty of screens, bit dated, but good atmosphere.

My wife and I was sat outside with our dog, and member of staff came out and said we can bring her in as long as she is on the wooden floor and not on the carpet, the staff was very friendly to our shih tzu and made a lot of fuss giving her biscuits and bowl of water, now back to us, we ordered a all day breakfast and it came out nice and hot and went down a treat, we will definitely be making visits there again next time we go to bicester, nice work staff keep up the good work.

I really like this place and cannot understand the negatives. Staying locally, we opted here for dinner and had a burger with a pint, big enough for two, for £6.99. It was absolutely wonderful, served fast and cooked to perfection. So happy, we returned for breakfast in the morning which was equally as good. The prices are great, location is spotless and staff we encountered were amazing. Will happily revisit as our first choice when in Bicester

First time here with a group of friends and was disgusted how my partner was treated. He ordered a drink which was served in a plastic cup. The cup had a hole in it and the drink emptied very quickly through the hole onto his brand new shoes. He informed the women serving there is hole in the cup and asked for another drink and she said “can’t do anything” as did another member of staff. We asked to speak to the manager (a very grumpy rude man) who opened another bottle slammed it down and emptied it into another cup and shoved it towards my partner. The place stinks of cigarette smoke, and your shoes stick to the floor. Music is repetitive. The worse staff who are all miserable. A complete dive. Avoid !! Much nicer bars to choose from.

Another example of boring, standard pub food. Much like Wetherspoons but less of the cleanliness, tidiness and atmosphere. I've always noticed that certain members of staff seem less than pleased to see people walk in and the customer service suffers as a result.

Went in there and it was vile one the door staff were rude it was like if they didn’t like you you were trouble second the bar staff were slow and took their time making drinks. Felt more like a teenagers club than a night out.

Ok during day, but can get a bit loud at night, hence do not go any more, however it is a pub, but good for lunch or afternoon light food. Does have a good menu. Nice cup of tea or coffee. spring water.

Went here yesterday with a few mates before the England game. We had the full English breakfast. We were told there was a 40 minute wait which was suprising because there was not many people there. We were in no particular hurry so we said okay. We were then told they had run out of sausages the day before but we could have extra bacon instead. Again we said okay.

Had a couple of drinks sat outside here yesterday. The beer was good and very reasonably priced. Unfortunately the tables were messy and also inside the tables were left in the same state. Okay for a quick drink on the way to somewhere else but not a place for a night out.

Without a doubt the worst barman ive ever came across. So rude and blunt with us, beyond slow with making drinks and no food after 8pm. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone unless youre going when that barman isn't working

We popped in here on the off chance as we were all hungry. This is basic pub grub ,well priced and fills the tummy's.

I came here with friends last week for a catch up, as we don't often get to see each other. It was perfect for our needs. It was lovely and warm, the staff were very friendly, and the place was clean and tidy. We will be back!

My friend Geoff Jefferson visited here, but got stuck to the floor (the old fool went in his slippers). Well, I got togged up and had an excellent Saturday night - rounded off with a splendid old-style market town punch-up outside. Took me back - delighted to see places like this still exist. After a terrible time at The Conker (by Bicester Village), this more than compensated.

Fine if you are looking fro some cheap pub grub type food seemed to have plenty of meal deals. We had the sharing plates which were very good.

I had lunch here with a friend not long ago, and we decided to take advantage of the Saturday meal deal, five plates for £7.99, but also order some wings, 30 for £7.99. What a mistake this was! There was an unbelievable amount of food, it could have fed four very hungry people, not just two mildly hungry people. And even though I was pre-warned that the hot naga chilli sauce was hot, it was HOT. Enjoyed it though, did have to mix it with a fair bit of mayo, but not complaining. We just couldn’t believe the amount of food they brought us - and it was tasty too. Obviously not going to get five star quality for under £16 all in, but my word, what a break from London prices! The game was on the big screen and it was quite loud, so I wouldn’t recommend sitting by the screen if you want to have a natter, but there are plenty of big booths which give you lots of options, as well as a pool table. The outside space was rather limited, so not a great choice on a sunny day, but if you want a Saturday feast then this is the place for you!

I stopped off here for a late breakfast, and was pleasantly surprised. Not your usual Weatherspoon, a really nice place. The menu was extensive, the food nicely cooked and presented, the coffee hot and fresh and the atmosphere, charming.

Es familiar y también tiene una mesa de Poole. Los desayunos son uno de nuestros favoritos, a veces nos tomamos nuestra chica 14 para nuestra hijita, el desayuno inglés Breccy mahoosive delicioso es además está n dispuestos a cocinar los huevos a su gusto, (odio huevos crudos. Siempre) El personal es muy servicial y amable, la comida es buena y hay un montón de opciones en el menú delicioso incluyendo un gran partícipes y el lugar es limpio. El Saxon también es genial en noches especialmente en wkds y abierto hasta tarde. Ten cuidado con los jarros, letales jaja!

Hemos estado aquí en un par de ocasiones para comer un sábado. Este pub ofrece a los clientes para ver deporte, así que está bastante concurrida en sábado y también bastante fuerte.

We went to the Saxon on Saturday 7th January for afternoon drinks. What a shambles!!! My friend and I had a glass of wine each and when my partner went tot he bar to get us another glass of wine, he was told there were no more wine glasses and he was asked to retrieve our glasses in order for us to have a top up! We hadn't actually finished our drinks at this point! Another friend joined us and when she approached the bar for a glass of wine, they struggled to locate one. Eventually they found one of those old fashioned small wine glasses. They tried to explain the shortage of glasses on 'New Years Eve', which was 7 DAYS PREVIOUS!!! This was a Saturday afternoon and how on earth were they expecting to cope with Saturday night 3 wine glasses? Absolutely appalling!!Then, we tried to order a couple of Mexican planks and were informed there was no chilli, or any of the meats on the plank menu.What sort of pub, located on a busy high street, with a Sainsbury's and Wilkinson's within spitting distance, doesn't restock it's wine glasses and main menu staples for a busy Saturday afternoon. Needless to say we didn't stay for another drink!

Used The Saxon for breakfast four times and each time it's .......Tasty......Well cooked.......Served promptly.......Cutlery is clean.......Staff genuinely helpful......At less than £4.00 (and with coffee, less than a fiver)......everything's very good, beating other similar, close by breakfast options by miles!Well done!
