Savoy Country Inn in Carmarthenshire

Now that the Savoy does breakfast, I'm a regular in the mornings, the Full Works is incredible and amazing value for money! Definitely the best breakfast around!

Food was lovely and really enjoyed the quiz. Bit busy because of everyone having a 30% off voucher but still good. We'll be back.

Friendly staff, had booked. Was given a nice table, which we would have been happy with any other time. But my partner had hurt his back and needed a chair 🪑 to sit on. So they kindly gave us another table. As fully booked not as easy as normal. Fish and chips ordered, arrived in a respectful time, both enjoyed.

Just enjoyed a 2 night stay here, the rooms were comfy and relaxing, had everything required. Location is great. We decided to order food Saturday evening and both our meals were delicious. I would definitely return again.

After contacting Nick a few weeks ago about meal times, he gave me the details. So on our way to Tenby we called in and had a lovely meal and drink. Nick is the perfect host with a lovely team working in the pub. The menu is very comprehensive with something for everyone. We didn't drink alcohol but the bar stocked an excellent choice of beers and wines. All in all I highly recommend a visit. They also do accommodation so I can see us booking to stay here as it's situated in a good area.

Delicious food and excellent service. Very friendly and welcoming. They even have a menu for dogs! We had really great burgers, a mixed grill , pulled pork Mac and cheese and kids pasta. They were all pipping hot and well cooked. Deserts were out of this world!

Stayed here for a week for business and was really impressed by the service that was given from all of the staff. They were very polite and were easy talkers too which made my stay all the more pleasant. The food was standard fare from a Marston's pub but was up to its usual good standard. Food came out hot and on time. I had the Inches Cider on tap and it tasted great. Coming for Hereford I'm used to great tasting cider but Inches may be my favourite cider of the year so far (albeit it is only February). The room I stayed in was compact but had everything I needed. Surprisingly they managed to get a wardrobe, double bed, 2 bedside tables and a writing desk all in a small space but it never felt over-crowded. The bathroom was bright and spacious and contained a toilet, basin and shower (no bath). Complimentary teas, coffees and biscuits available in the room on arrival. A very pleasant stay despite it being for business and not pleasure.

Family meal, menu was standard pub food, dessert was exceptional 👌.

Excellent atmosphere and food! We had a burger and a pie and they were both delicious. Also a plus, it was the only place that was open on a Sunday evening. We will be back!

My favourite pub in west wales..proper pub grub, food is always gorgeous and great value.,, staff super friendly and helpful, love coming here whenever im in the area. Great pint also with a range of beers and ales on offer,

A lovely pub, just down the road from our Travelodge. We ate here in 2 nights, staff were friends and courteous. The food was served quickly, it was hot and well presented. Good value for money pub grub.

It's ok cheap food,but not the best

Brought family from Canada to visit west wales and took them out for a meal! Food was brilliant and service was great! One of the Canadians even loved the Mac & Cheese :-)

Two main meals were cold, one being a beef roast diner the other vegan sausage diner. They were warmed up in the microwave, the beef was uneatable, chewy & no taste, plus the presentation of the food was poor. Had to wait a long time for starters & between each course. The interior looks tired and grubby. Disappointing overall as one for the group only ended up having a starter for her Sunday diner. However front of house staff couldn’t have been more apologetic & we weren’t charged for the roast diner, nor coffees

We went here for a family meal whilst on hoilday, we arrived at 5.30pm and seated straight away, we ordered a variety of different meals , which are arrived together, the staff where friendly and saw to it that we had everything we needed, the meals where proper pub grub and of a good size , the puddings where fabulous and again a decent size . The price was fair we paid just short of £100 for 5 of us thats a main meal, pudding and drink each which is what you'd expect to pay . The bar and restaurant where very clean and festive, also the toilet was very clean and tidy . We will definitely go back again when we are that way again. 5 star from us x

Our visit on Christmas day wasn't enough for us, so we went for Boxing Day dinner too. The food was superb, the service was wonderful.The staff are also wonderful.In fact it felt as though we were at a large family get together.I .It is always a pleasure to dine there..We are regulars there and the service is aways 1st class.

My little sister met a friend the middle child did a drawing and gave it to the waiter and he put it in his cupboard so he can see it every day and the people who served us were absolutely amazing and kind definitely recommend it

What a lovely place. Food was good, staff couldn't do enough to make sure everything was good. Lots of car parking. Having a pool table there was a bonus. Would visit again.

Good food at a very competitive price.

Came to the savoy with my boyfriend tonight. Met the new owners Nick and Nikki, a lovely couple that gave us a warm welcome. I has the southern fried hunters chicken which was lush!! And my boyfriend had the mixed grill, as a fussy eater he always finds something to moan about but he had not one complaint. Will definitely be coming again!!

Update: Went back today! Absolutely brilliant staff in this place, really cannot do enough for you, once again, fantastic food, the fish is just perfect! Looks very Christmassy and welcoming too! Very impressed. The beef was melt in the mouth, the Yorkshire's were huge and the veg was lovely and cooked to perfection. The gentleman behind the bar was very funny and really helpful with my husband's dietary requirements as there's not a lot he can eat. He sat with us and went through the menu and showed us what he could eat. Very happy we tried again after a bad experience in the past. 10/10

Nice pub / restaurant conveniently located near the main highway. Good atmosphere and warm welcome. Menu was varied and extensive. The food was "good pub".

Manager very welcoming on arrival. Ordered 4 Sunday Lunches, each dinner was a different size. One of the dinners very small, with not much meat, sent back with waitress who returned with the meal stating “chef says it’s the same as the other meals” when it clearly wasn’t. None of the meals had a Yorkshire pudding and when we questioned the waitress she said they’d run out although we were not informed of this. Two meals didn’t have toast potatoes so waitress went to get a bowel of them for the two missing meals. Ordered desert, jam sponge and custard completely cold and had to send back. Overall very poor experience in regards to food, manager did not come and see us despite multiple concerns to waitress who was very dismissive. We paid full price for a meal without the Yorkshire pudding and one of our party had what I’d describe as a child’s meal. Disappointing as previously had a good experience.

Absolutely outstanding service!! I booked for 6 people and a dog on the website and booking was confirmed. We arrived at our allocated time but there was a glitch in the booking system. The 2 gentlemen that assisted me (Nick and Lee I think) did everything they could to accommodate my family and moved some tables around to fit us in. I even mentioned that it was ok, that we could go elsewhere as I didn’t want to cause trouble. They insisted. We sat at the table and was excited to see a doggy menu. I had never seen one before and was happy of the thought that our dog could enjoy a Sunday lunch with the family. The eating area is great and I have never been in such a great dog friendly restaurant before. I do not have a dog myself but I will be back and I am sure my family will visit again! The food was delicious but not much in the range of greens. Possibly because they may have run out if they had pre portioned the stock. It did not spoil our meal as we all enjoyed it.

Had a great time with my partner for their karaoke night. Staff very friendly and welcoming and everyone joined in to have a good time! Will definitely be returning.

Booked a room for 2 nights. Bedroom was small, the furniture was tired and old with watermarks and even the outline of a phone that had overheated on the bedside table. Was told that's been there for a while. The shower unit was full of mould. The sink had mould and dirt around the taps. Cobwebs in the ceiling. Couldn't use the kettle as it couldn't fit under the tap as the sink was so small. And wouldn't use the kettle anyway, as it was full of limescale. The curtains weren't hooked up properly. Nice as a pub, good food, nice staff. No good as a hotel!! Awful room and no offer of recompense. A 'refresh' was done, only the cobwebs were touched. Avoid!

Absolutely appalling meal. Waite 49 mins while restaurant was very quiet. Served on a child size plate. Still looking for the chicken in my soggy baguette. Chips were awful Felt sorry for the staff as the waitress was lovely and very apologetic

Me and my husband visited the Savoy on the weekend with our 3 year old son. The atmosphere was great and loved how cozy it felt. Me and husband ordered our food and it came out very quickly. However we had brought our child his own food with us as he is a fussy eater. We were half way through our meal and I could hear coughing, I looked over and to my horror my son was choking on a grape, I screamed in panic, then out of nowhere a waitress by the name of Lauren came running over (with a handful of drinks) and still managed to not spill a drop. Placed the drinks on the table and started to perform the Heimlich maneuver on my son, after some time of sheer panic and compressions, a grape flew out of my son's mouth. I was so grateful and I am forever in Lauren's debt, she saved his life that day. Her customer service for the rest of the night was 10/10.

Desperately seeking hot food on a Sunday night in South Wales, Nick and the team came to the rescue with a friendly welcome. Excellent fish and chips and good cold beers. Nice to see a Sunday menu with both roasts and traditional pub food. Highly recommended!

Ordered 3 starters ,4 mains & 4 drinks when the mains arrived my daughter found a dead fly on her plate called over bar staff discreetly to let her know , we all left our food and drinks to charge £25 for our starters & drinks . The drinks were left on the table !

We (party of four) visited the Savoy Country Inn yesterday 9/9/23. The bar service was found to be pleasant. We ordered, 1 Hunters Chicken and 3 Aged Rump Steaks, one well done, the other two Medium. The Chicken and the Well Done Steak were fine. However, we found both the Medium Steaks were so gristly and I mean gristly. My son and his wife battled on, trying to cut through the meat and chew it. Eventually enough was enough and I complained. The gentleman (from the bar) came to the table, stated that the steak knives they we were using, were the sharpest they had, also that the reason for the tough gristly steak was the cut of the beef and that there was nothing they could do. We shall definitely not visit this establishment again.

We stayed in the cozy pub for four days and explored the surrounding area from there. The rooms are small but very comfortable and clean and the food - breakfast and dinner for us - was excellent. The staff was extremely friendly and we can only recommend the accommodation. The entrance to the pub is also practical for disabled people as there are no steps and there is also a ground-level disabled toilet. There are stairs leading up to the rooms, but it's easy to hold on to. Be sure to take part in the pub quiz on Tuesday and Thursday. There was great live music on Saturday. When the weather is good you can sit outside and there is even a small playground for children. All in all a wonderful stay! We'll come back next time we're in Wales!!

The service was excellent but we ordered 2 gammon with egg and pineapple and the gammon was awful. It was salty and tough. We received a full refund as we could not eat the meal. The staff were very apologetic.

Nice food ,nice staff,good choice of beers,fish and chips was spot on ,and the hunters chicken, and we'll done the chef ,nobody ever mentions the chef. Came back next day for steak night and wasn't disappointed, very nice

Not the best review. We visited over a lunch with our 2 young children, ordered our food and sat down. 1hr 30mins later food still hadn't arrived, we asked after 60 mins and were told our food was one of the next tickets. The couple next to us had been advised there was over an hour wait but staff had not informed us. We wouldn't have waited as were only visiting Tenby for the day. When the food eventually arrived it was OK, nothing to 'sing and dance' about. Staff did nothing to apologise and simply advised we should put a review on Facebook. We won't be visiting again and wouldn't advise others to, unless you are prepared to spend a long time waiting.

Stopped here for a late lunch en route to our holiday home mainly because it has rapid EV Chargers and serves food all day. Staff are great and the food was fine. Garden is ideal for kids.

Great pub and hotel(did not use rooms though) food and beer were great. Couple of bev rapid chargers available in car park too!
