Crisp & Fry Carmarthen in Carmarthenshire

Very, very disappointing. Cannot recommend, unless you like luke warm chips, very hit and miss -as to whether the chips are fresh or otherwise. It’s not the first time we haven't been able to finish the food. Not happy being charged full price for substandard meal.

Lovely local chippy with well cooked fresh fish and chips. The kids boxes are great and a sensible size for little ones. Staff are courteous and friendly. Worth a visit for a treat dinner.

Just recently visited Carmarthen and luckily stumbled upon this great place very welcoming and very clean and open spaces and the staff were absoluty superb made us feel very welcome and the food was lovely keep up the good work guys

Minced beef and onion pie was really nice, even better than pukka pies 👍 nice chips and lush gravy, will definitely be back for more, this is possibly the best chippy in Carmarthen! Worth 5 stars 🌟excellent 👍😊

Always a welcoming face. Food is great especially the haddock and chips. Been going there ever since it reopened.

Great place to stop for a break and rushed lunch. 1 hour parking outside. Sadly no toilet as it is really classed as a take away and 10% added if eating in. However - great service yummy half chicken and good full fat coffee.

I am fast becoming a regular. I usually call ahead once a week to place an order for collection at the end of the day. Last time Sam and Rachel spotted me when I parked outside and by the time I got into the shop they had it all wrapped up and ready to go. Always good service with a smile. The portions are generous and still really tasty even after a 20 mile drive home !

Very disappointing to find a big black hair in amongst my portion of chips. As I have hair which is fair from black, this hair does not belong to me.

Lovely experience in crisp and fry Carmarthen, would 100% be visiting again very soon. Greeted and served by Vicky and Ben both very polite and chatty. Made our experience 1000% better. Highly recommend the curry sauce!!!!!

Ordered food for lunch yesterday. I asked for a large chips chicken chunks and a sausage the chips were on the better side same with the chicken but the sausage was fantastic. Lovely lady named Zoe very chatty and great worker.

We eat at crisp and fry in Carmarthen a few times a month as a treat. It's a lovely place to eat. The portions are generous and Zoe, Ben and Sam are friendly and flexible if you ask for something different, prices are very reasonable and there is always a good atmosphere and a smile on the servers faces. Love the place. Highly recommended.

Samantha above and beyond , as I was in a rush and called ahead and requested the food to be piping hot as I'd be eating in later on after my journey, when I arrived she immediately had the till ready for me and the food bagged and must of been fresh with how much steam was coming out , fantastic service and would go back in a heartbeat with service like that

I would never go back again, my chicken and fish were very dry and chips were frozen chips. They were awful to taste and thrown out half of them . If I was you , don't waste for your money.

Fish was small.too many chips that were over cooked threw them out for fox whats wrong staff ignore you

Chips tasted re heated and were cold sausage must of been there all day. Chicken burger was horrible daughter wouldn’t even eat it and she’s not fussy

Whilst the staff were friendly we were surrounded by uncleared tables while the staff chatted the other side of the counter. Unacceptable.

Wish I took a picture.. Asked for small chips and got 10!!!! Sausages and pies left sitting like forever, they are so dry. Two staff on that couldn't go any slower. It's ashame as the other shop at Crosshands is fab, think I will drive there next time.

Sausage and chips with a bread roll. The roll was lovely. The rest was stone cold. The fox will have them on the way home. Such a shame. A chippie with cold chips. That's all you do. Chips etc. I don't expect Michelin grade food. A hard earned £6.80 down the pan!

Friendly staff, steak & ale pie was good, as was the curry sauce. However, the chips had been re-heated and weren’t good. I’d definitely go back if they made fresh chips, wouldn’t mind waiting either. Update, I’ve been back since my previous 3 star review and can say that I’ve had fresh chips a number of times since. Now 5 stars

This place is immaculately clean and well presented for a chippie. The portion sizes are massive for their dearer items. I had a double donner box which could easily have fed a family for 15 pounds. My wife had the signature donner for 8.50 which she could not finish despite wanting to. Superb value for money and tasty too.

JUST left the building, ngl haven’t even tried the food but I went in 5 minutes before closing so I don’t expect perfection but WOW customer service was amazing. Really lovely guy at the till nothing was a bother, someone else came in about 1 minute to close and she got the exact same happy service as I did! Gotta respect it! Also well kept store and thankfully took card as so many chippys don’t and I never carry cash lol

Second time visiting, terrible food.. well over cooked, chips and curry both half full cups, same people there both times. Been to crosshands and the food there is amazing every time!! Will not be going to carmarthen shop again!

My mate told me the food there is lovely but the service is slow and incompetent which stops me giving this review any higher than 3 stars

Slow service , chips under cooked and fish was greasy , threw it away .

Forgot two items of our order (curry sauce and another item), chips were underdone and hard inside (like cardboard), gravy had many lumps in it and wasn’t even warm, battered sausage was burnt and burger was also over cooked. Service wasn’t brilliant, weren’t very enthusiastic and quite blunt. Slightly chaotic work place also. Do not recommend.
