Saucy Dough Gravesend in Gravesham

I lived in Gravesend for 3 years and never went to Saucy Dough. I’ve now lived in Medway for the past 3 years and finally tried and was astonished. We got one of their new flavours Pepperoni Hot Honey….absolutely to die for. AJ gave us a bit of history about the place and told us how every ingredient is freshly acquired. Dough, in house, stone oven, so the undercarriage is just right. Best pizza place in Kent…hands down

Food arrived cold, called the restaurant and was told they don't care, not their problem, the owner refused to collect the food and exchange, called me a prick and hung up. 3 kids over hungry and unable to eat the food. Absolutely disgusting.

Good food. Just a shame the wrong order was delivered and just eat didn’t want to know. Would still order again from here though

Worst sandwich I have ever ordered. No effort put into this what's so ever and no filling it's a crappy sauce. Never ordering from here again. Please avoid this place.

Really disappointed. The lasagne was full of heat...either too much pepper or chilli was added. The bechamel had cooked so much into the pasta that it all became stodgy. The garlic bread with cheese was ok but I asked for aubergine and got anchovies

Horrible garlic all around the pizza, basically there is no other taste apart from the garlic one, the mushrooms are full of tiny chopped garlic and it ruins the other ingredients and the overall taste.. it would be amazing if they mentioned this on their menu, however the ingredient is nowhere to be found on the pizza menu (we ordered 3 different pizzas and all had loads of garlic). It was my first and last time ordering from them.

The food was burnt and looked stodgy as if it had been left out for quite a long time. The coleslaw looked as if it contained red onions and mayonnaise only.

Apart from the fact he went to the wrong address first as, like most of the drivers in Gravesend, he didn't know there was a Pelham Road and a Pelham Road South, he was very apologetic, friendly and polite unlike some of the others when they've made a mistake. Good job.

Pizza was lovely but the wedges and Jalapeno Doughballs not so good. Both come soggy and don’t have a nice taste to them at all.

The potatoes were disgusting… old and overcooked. The pizza was sawyer so I am assuming that the ham was old … last time for me ordering from there . Almost whole order is gone to the bin .. such a waste of 35£ ..

I think they need to go back to the drawing board with these. The dough wasn’t nice, too stodgy almost undercooked. The cheese wasn’t melted properly and the overall taste was fairly mediocre. They seem like nice fellas though and it’s worth a try. It’s just not my cup of tea. I think they could do a lot better because they seem to have the passion and the idea is great. I’ve made pizzas at home using an ooni oven that are just much better than this. If I were them I would reanalyse how they’re making their dough and then go from there. Trial and error. There was something fundamentally wrong with the dough. It should be light, fluffy and crispy.

I’m sorry to have to leave a negative review but the standard of Saucy Dough has dropped significantly since we last ordered from here during the pandemic. Our starters were fine, but the pizzas we ordered were sloppy and unpleasant - it felt like they’ve switched to cheap ingredients which is such a shame as they used to taste really authentic and delicious. Used to be our go-to takeaway in Gravesend but I’m afraid we won’t be ordering from here again. Happy to pay a premium price for a premium product, but this was terrible value for money.

Incredible pizza, fast and super friendly service. These guys really know how to make gourmet pizza. The eggs in hell pizza blew my mind with it's flavours. Every time I try a new pizza it becomes my new favourite. Could not recommend more highly.

Cold & awful almost had a whole chicken in the pizza

One of the best tasting pizza in the UK. Fresh ingredients, nice sauce & good cheese. Shame there's only 2 seats for eating in.

Amazing, 5 stars. I ordered for the first time yesterday, ordered the Nduja. The delivery was so quick, and the pizza was delicious. It was very fresh. Delivery man was very friendly. Will be ordering here from now on. Thank you Saucy Dough!

Best pizzas in the area! For a quality pizza, this is the place!

Consistently good. Gorgeous ‘proper’ pizza - after having this I don’t think I could ever go back to the mainstream pizza takeaways! A little plus that it just feels so much healthier as well. I’ve ordered from Saucy Dough perhaps 3 or 4 times now and every time is super fast - last night it was at my door within 20 minutes which was much appreciated by an exhausted teacher who came home gone 8pm.

The food is wonderful Id usually leave 5 stars but I was bummed out that I didn’t get my Fanta 😭

Delicious! Real taste of Italy. All we needed was the delivery guy to turn up on a gondola. Fresh ingredients, loads of flavour even the boxes were amazing. Dominos and Pizza Hut are dead. Bravissimo!

Amazing! Me and my girlfriend thought we would try thanks to the reviews from her sister and we were not disappointed!! As soon as we walked in, we felt at home - everyone from the receptionist down to the chefs made us feel welcome. They gave us good suggestions for sauces to go with too. My girlfriend is gluten free and her pizza tasted just as good as mine!! We will definitely be retuning as soon as she lets me off of my diet - I encourage everyone try!! You will Love everything about it!!!!!!!!!!! Very worth the price :) ,

These guys have the best pizza anywhere in the area! Great crust and ingredients! We drive from Rochester to pick up pizza here. They also have great homemade sauces with the pizza. Highly recommend!!

Having tried a few of the pizzerias in Gravesend, Soucy Dough is definitely the most authentic, so delicious, the base is always crispy and great to see so many different options not on other’s menus

We've been enjoying the food here for years now. The service is always very friendly and always have time for a chat if you are waiting a couple minutes. Typically I'll try to order it from my mobile and get there as it's ready. All of the pizzas are fantastic as are the spicy wings, and they have some new dishes on the menu such as pasta and risotto. The risotto is fantastic, seriously, very good. The couple of pastas I've had have also been excellent, except for lasagna I didn't care for. It was kind of soupy. But out of all the food I've eaten here over the years. That's the first time I had something I didn't care for. Other than that the food is always top notch here, and you are always satisfied when you are done eating.

Finally we have found the BEST pizza in town!! Each time pure pleasure and joy on our lazy nights! And!!! Always friendly, smiling staff if collecting order. Nothing compares. Seriously. Thank You, Saucy Dough Team

Decent pizza but expensive with all the add ons

Ordered 4 cheese pizza with a couple of extra toppings, was ok but also ordered a tiramisu (cost £5) and it was the size of a doughnut, tiny! For £5 I was expecting one that would feed 2 people a decent portion each, it was ridiculously small and for that I’ll never order from here again.

New to the area, love finding winners like this. Awesome food. Risotto was spot on and the Primavera Pizza Bread was bella bella. Fantastico

We have been ordering from Saucy Dough gravesend for some time and I can't recommend them enough, we didn't realise they had so many bad reviews. The food we order always arrives ontime and fresh. We particularly like the base which is stone baked. We will look forward to ordering from you again soon.

Food did not get delivered at 19:45. Left restaurant at 19:22. Called saucy dough at 20:00 to check why food not arrived. Eventually, when I received food it was stone cold.

The pizza was not the same as before. It had been put in the oven with rocket and Parma ham on top which made the rocket soggy and the Parma ham rock hard.

Food was very tasty. Vegetable risotto was absolutely delicious. Only gripe was that I was charged £1 extra for jalapeños on pizza, however there was the equivalent of one slice of jalapeño on the whole thing, which was disappointing.

Pizzas were lovely. However when the delivery driver arrived they were missing part of the order. They said they are going to ring the restaurant but before I heard what was going to happen, they left. We rang the restaurant and they said they would have someone bring the rest of the order however by this time we had eaten the rest of the food and didn’t feel like eating the sides.

This is definitely the best artisan pizza in town. Always hot and delicious, my fav is 4 seasons

I have always been happy with the pizzas I bought from them, delivery or take away has never been a problem for me. Everyone that served me when I went there was very polite.

Pizza was brilliant as always, the chicken wings were below average. Previously you got 5 good size portions of chicken, now they’re small and overcooked.

Ordered pizza from these guys a few times with no problems but ordered a ham and mushroom pizza for the family and there was a incredibly strong taste and smell of garlic from the mushrooms, ordered the pizza on Uber eats and no mention on garlic and neither on there website! Very disappointed and complained on the phone they would not help, offered to take the pizza back and swap for something with no mushrooms but all I got was “there’s nothing we can do” won’t be ordering from them again.

Really tasty food, pizza was delicious as was the risotto!

We made a 50 minute round trip for this Pizza as we heard so many good things. Turns out, it was a massive waste of time and money. Firstly, the person who answered didnt know what Friairelli but confidently told me it was a type of mozzarella. Turns out, its a part of the broccoli family. So instead of a type of mozzarella on our Bruschetta, we got a type of broccoli. Secondly, the pizza itself was not great. Overly salty and made our mouths feel like we had put on salt ontop before eating the slice. Thirdly, when calling the restaurant to let them know our thoughts, we were met with silence on the other end, followed by, "OK, is there anything else we can help you with". Overall, not the greatest slice you will find, was also greasy and heavy. Not what you expect when paying nearly £30 for a pizza! Service was not the best either, especially as we called the restaurant to give them our feedback, and there was not even an apology. Would not go back.

Ordered 2 thin crust pizza 9' and i got to thick crust ones; despite paying £14 for each + £2 for 2 dips + £2.50 for delivery the pizza was disgusting. i called the restaurant to tell them and the man on the phone argues it was thin crust when i had the thick pizza in front of me. i have asked also for ketchup but they said because they 'are authentic Italian' they don't do catch up. really? ( however they had all sorts of other dips available - ridiculous!!) anyway this was a rip off and will never order again from them.

Rip off ! Ordered two pizzas @9inches thin crust What do I get? 2 tiny pizzas thick crust with a fraction of the ingredients each £14 Ordered some dips but also put a note I want ketch up. When called the location to complain about the above they were really adamant it was thin crust and because they are ‘authentic Italian’ they don’t do ketchup 😂😂

'Saucy dough' contained absolutely no sauce but what seemed like an entire raw onion. I'm not sure how they managed to burn the 'meatballs' but under cook the onion but here we are. 'Meatballs' were just chunky mince. Effectively this ended up being a giant cheesy Cornish pasty. If that's your jam then go for it.
