A disappointing experience at The Peking tonight. Chicken not cooked, satay sauce tasted and looked old, small portions, rushed service, waiter used bare finger twice to remove dirt from plates, sweet and ‘on house’ drinks limited.

Such a romantic experience on valentines day they had a nice set menu and they did some nice touches like a rose on the table and love heart shaped rice plus I was given a goodie bag with chocolates and bath salts and was allowed to take the rose home.

Collected a takeaway from here.Was charged £4.50 more than the takeaway menu prices shown.I asked why and was told website prices were wrong.Think they should update them really.Food was ok nothing special.

Ordered a takeaway from here Christmas Eve as everywhere in Gravesend was very busy....not our usual choice, food was ok but for what we had was expensive and not very hot...and small portions. Even the bag of prawn crackers had about 10 pieces inside it. Dissapointed.

Superb & authentic taste of China. Although, portion is wee bit small.

Absolutely one of the best Chinese I've had in Kent. Portions are a bit small but quality is superb. The staff is ready nice.

BEST CHINESE IN G-TOWN!!! 10 out of 10! Me and my girlfriend wanted to go out for dinner seeing as it’s been a difficult times for everyone and we were a lost cause because of our favourite Chinese had shut down. I mentioned about a Chinese restaurant that I used to go to with my family when I was a child and I remembered how awesome it was! I asked my dad and he told me it was Peking! Straight away I booked a table within the next 30minutes. Upon walking up the stairs I was getting feelings of being a child again. It was the same stairs and the restaurant was just as amazing as I remembered. Pure traditional Chinese interior. Amazing customer service from the same owners from 20 years before. I was shocked to admit that the food was the best chines i have had and blew all the other restaurants out of the water. We have found our new favourite place! We often heard other customers on different tables saying how they’ve been coming to this same restaurant for 10-20 years. That alone speaks volumes. Me and my girlfriend picked the chef’s special set menu (B). The food was amazing. Bringing the family back soon as we are all free for a night! Can not wait.

The reception and the hospitality was worst. I have never experienced such kind of behaviour in a restaurant. The portion of the food is less for the price. The food we ordered was not up to mark. Sichuan checked did not tasted like Sichuan chicken at all. Only good thing was they serve in hot plates, it that's nothing exceptional about a Chinese restaurant. The behaviour of the lady receptionist was rude and man serving at table was rude too. The lady was laying a table cloth just beside our table where we were still eating our food. No manners to do once we finish our food. The pollens/dust particles from the table cloth was all over. Nonsense of hygiene in this pandameic. Overall a bad experience. Will never ever go back. Will never ever recommend anyone. I had to give one star to write this comment. However, my remarks is Zero for them. Worst restaurant experience ever.

Very nice place with good food, and service. Would recommend to anyone! 100% worth trying. I will definitely come back to this place even though i live in Belvedere (15 miles away).

I don’t usually leave reviews but felt this place deserved one due to how bad our experience was, we where turned away by our regular Chinese as they where too busy so ordered a takeaway from Peking. This place is extremely expensive, the staff are blunt and bordering on rude .. Ordered a quarter duck and they did not put the sauce in which we only realised had happened when I was all the way home. The chicken balls where undercooked and the batter was soft, the chicken in the middle was pink (I have a photo, which I will try and attach) . The rest of the food was luke warm and just all round poor. Perhaps takeaway is not their strong point as the reviews for the restaurant seem very good. My experience was unfortunately, very poor.

The food was good, but we were overcharged compared to the prices online which were already a touch expensive, and the portions were small compared to elsewhere. We ordered the set menu C for two and didn't get our dessert of the day. With another main, rice & side it cost £48 to feed three people which I think is excessive for a takeaway.

Best Chinese around, Booked a table for a birthday celebration. There was 14 of us, 6 was young children so we had our own private room. The staff couldn't have done anymore for us, highly recommended to anyone.. 5 star +

Food was succulent and fell off the bone. They helped with which dishes contained gluten as I am gluten intolerant. Warm and friendly environment and atmosphere. Our waiter was very attentive and made sure the glass was never dry and topped up. Definitely a go to place to eat.

Our family have been going to this restaurant for years and have always had excellent food and a warm hospitable welcome. Best Chinese restaurant in Kent i’d say.

Had a really lovely meal here. Excellent service and delicious food. The surroundings are interesting and a taste for country and western music is I guess an acquired taste and one I have yet to acquire.Having said this I had a really lovely meal here.

Worth travelling from London ! forget China Town ! only for tourist ! get fast train 20 mins ! real quality chinese food and a free drink before u leave ! Family run business ! with quality service where u are made important as a customer and quality food but at weekends make a booking ! Ask for Loong or Ivy for Vip treatment !

Fantastic restaurant. London China Town quality in Gravesend. Don't be put off by the outside. Inside is 1970 authentic Chinese restaurant decor which we love. The food is amazing quality. They even packed up leftovers for us..........and the portion size is so good.........so a meal for ten kept us going for several days! Service is very good with free liqueurs at the end of the meal. So full and so great value1

We were here only once but would love to come back for its excellent food and amazing service. We were delighted with this small but lovely restaurant. Strongly recommended

Best chinese in kent small but very good food

Second time dining here. Really enjoyed first experience. Decor authentic and liked old building, friendly female waitress. However, based on second occassion will not return due to service from male waiter. At end of meal we was asked if everything was ok, we gave feedback on once dish we were unhappy with (no prob paying, feedback is important...esp when asked). Our comments were dismissed, like he didn't understand...frustrating. Will not be returning. But, that said he decided not to charge us for that dish, but imo managed it the wrong way.
