I think I had a tea here, can't really remember, but due to the carpark fine it was the most expensive tea of my life! The vendor should give warnings about the carpark scam with every beverage. Don't go to Luss!

Sassenachs coffee van is a unique vintage van located a stones throw from the shores of Loch Lomond. I love coming here for a coffee and chat with Rebecca. The cakes are fantastic and she has a great vegan selection! It’s a definite must go to for anyone visiting Luss!

I went to Luss to take my dog for a walk, after the walk went to this lovely eye catching van for coffee. The cappuccino was just how I like it but the lady was very friendly and helpful told me what’s around in the village and also gave my dog a treat. I 100% recommend going to get a coffee from sassenachs and the cakes are well nice mainly the brownies 😋

Great wee van, love the retro look of it and what's better after a session paddleboarding on the Loch than getting a nice coffee and cake.

Sassenachs is a hidden gem. I now come twice or three times a week and will always plan my day around getting a coffee and cake here. Always up for a good chat and joke. I would recommend everyone to come and try the coffee.

I bought a coffee at this lovely vintage van when I needed a break from working from home. A warm welcome and the most gorgeous bean to cup coffee was just what I needed. Delicious cakes are available. Pleasant service and a great place to stand and chat with barista Rebecca before I had a wander around Luss for some fresh air. Carpark fee is cheap meaning you are not hurried. Certainly will be popping back. Not just for tourists, I live locally so delighted to have a place I can nip in and out without parking issues or fuss.

I call it Debbie's place - you'll know it when you see it! - said several of the locals on Islay. A large group of us visiting the island had spent the morning dotted across it doing various different activities. I'd asked in the brilliant Islay Natural History Trust where locally we could grab lunch and was directed to the Bruichladdich Mini Market. The place itself is run by Debbie, her mum and her sister. It's the ort of place that is the lifeblood of islands the world over - half grocery shop, half cafe - all welcoming. Debbie's sister was in charge when a group of 15 of us rocked up unannounced. This would normally not have been a problem - plenty of outside seating - but that particular day the ferry had been cancelled, along with much of the stock for the shop and cafe. Undeterred the staff there made us feel welcome and pulled together a lunch which went down very well with all - children and adults alike. Think sandwiches and toasties with great coffee and a good choice of cold drinks. They also serve some amazing cakes - I'm told the rocky road was fab, I know the chocolate cake was! Although initially under pressure when we all turned up, the staff seated us happily and we had all eaten within about 15 minutes of arriving.

Visited to celebrate a friend’s birthday. The setting on the shore of Loch Fyne overlooking the ruin of Castle Lachlan is stunning and we were able to enjoy a bottle of fizz outside our shepherds huts where we would be spending the night. After a late afternoon stroll to the castle ruins we were ready for our dinner. The tasting menu served in the evening is locally sourced and is probably the best I have ever tasted. We chose the wine pairing which was excellent and presented beautifully. After a great nights sleep breakfast is delivered to your accommodation and this is another delight. Cannot fault this place
