We were family of four, 2 adults and 2 children (8 & 10). Lovely meal and good value, family of four around £90. Very good service we had. The BBQ was cooked by one of the staff. I guess if you request to do it yourself, then I think you can.

Parfait menu barbecue coréen. Bien servi. Personnel professionnel et aux petits soins. A recommander. Nous y sommes retourné deux fois et c était parfait

First of all, my sister has been here twice last year and had a decent experience, it’s close by so she took my mum and us there for lunch. I must say the worst customer service experience we experienced in a long time. We went there at 2.10pm the waitress said they close at 3 but accepted our table request for 6 people. The food arrived fairly quickly. We wanted to cook the meat ourselves but the waitress snatched the tongs from my sisters hands and started doing it. She mixed the raw chicken and pork with cooked steak all to just get us out of there before 3pm. Why accept the booking if you were going to treat your customers like that. They started acting very unprofessional, came and slammed the bill on the table and said we close in 1 minute. We were shocked! I’ve never been treated like this on any restaurant before. They just want your money, poor quality of food, poor health and safety principles and extremely poor customer service. Avoid! Something must have changed, may be change in ownership?

If I could I would rate 0 stars. my overall eclxperience was really bad . I found a hair in my plate and when I told the waitress she told me to eat it because it was mine. I never received such a bad costumer service. It’s not worth it visiting this place on any aspect.

Omg! Firstly chair needs to be changed they are in terrible condition all ripped and the food is very average. Slow service with an attitude. I would not return with my family again.

1. We were promised for a table by an waitress, but after she mistakenly gave the table to a couple (not sure if it’s purpose, as in later conversation she was saying, Chinese, Chinese to us), then she said she never talked to me before, instead of apologies. 2. When I talked to her further to clarify, she told me she already explained there is no table, as I’m not a customer, I need to leave the restaurant. 3. I asked her name, she refused to tell me. When I went to the bar and ask again, she told me her name is Yuri (a girl in long bob hair style). 4. I asked to talk to the manager, when she by pass, she said in Korean 지랄하고있네 ( mean in English “You’re f**ing ). Then she walked away, and kept moaning, one of the waitresses went to her said I understand Korean, and stopped her. Towards this, no one was correcting her behaviour, but only worried that I understood what she said. This probably is the working culture they allowed in the restaurant. 5. The manger apologised when I questioned on the staff was swearing, but did not blame her. In stead, when she went back to the bar, she continued moaning, gossiping. 6. When I asked Yuri how could you say F word to customer, she said because she explained that there is no table, but I did not leave. And asked me again, “ you are not our customer, you need to leave”. 7. I questioned her manager how could they allow this, her manager was not able to give an solution on what they will do to the waitress. I guess, they only care about how much the customer spend, instead of customer experience. 8. I could understand if she said to me nicely she has give to the table to someone by mistake, but not saying “you lied, I never said to you there is a table in 5-10 mins”. 8. Furthermore, when there is one waitress gave bad service, it doesn’t mean the restaurant is bad. However, when the whole group is covering the mistake, even I saw the waitress was kept forcing three Chinese customers to share a four seats table with another guy, it seems the restaurant is also not welcoming Chinese.

Not good. Before ordering I asked what was included in the seafood lunch dish. They said ir=t was random but included prawns mussels and squid. My friend ordered the same but my dish had no prawns at all. When I asked if they could add them, the waitress went to check and then came back saying there was nothing they could do. So no concern for the fact that I was served no prawns but my friend was served some - in the end she passed one of hers to me. I live locally and my friend doesn't. I won't be visiting again as they did nothing to make up for it.

The service was really friendly, we ordered starters and then bibimbap as mains and they were delicious. Prices are good, too.

It was my first time eating at a BBQ place and I couldn't have chosen a better restaurant! The staff was really kind and even gave us dessert on the house after we paid! The meat portions are a bit small, so we ordered an additional main dish each, which was just right. Although other reviews say it's a bit pricey, I actually think it's quite a good price compared to other restaurants who cost almost twice as much.

Great place if you're craving for Korean BBQ. Ideal with 1+ friends. The waiters would barbecue the meat for you, so don't worry about burning the food. The BBQ is quite a small proportion, so we ordered separate main dish on our own. It's a bit expensive, but the service is great.

Heya so I have been coming to Sarang for a few years now. It is where I showed my partner KBBQ for the first time. He has since become a huge fan. The staff have always been extremely kind, friendly and relaiable every trip. I know i am spelling it wrong but the numyam chicken is one of my faves to get with set 3/c. I have not found a better price in london and it is just perfect local KBBQ spot. <3

It’s an experience and a show. Good for a treat. And the extras after like the free ice cream and cut oranges are a touch of class. Very Very Very Helpful Staff

Booked table in advance but they didn't found my name, then notice they didn't spell it correctly, seats area so closed to each table, no gap, seafood pancake tasteless, all flour, BBQ meat average, bibimap and fried chicken are not that great, glass noodles all stuck together, not even cook properly, service average. Was disappointed after all.

This was one of the toughes review I had to write... As the taste of the food, the staffs and the price were definitely deserving of 5 stars. However, we had a few issues... 1) My Seafood Sundubu chigae (seafood tofu stew) although tasted so authentic and delivious... it had cold tofu in a pipping hot bowl of soup. I can understand that they mus the busy and probably just put in the cold tofu, hoping the soup would heat it up fast enough, but it didn't. - But the staffs were really nice and helped us changed to a new one. We usually don't do this but there's no way we could eat the tofu cold in that manner. 2) We ordered this cod fish tofu soup (Mein tang?) And the soup was delicious as well. But... The cod fish was so so so hard that it's hard to even tesr it apart with our teeth or chopsticks. At first we weren't sure if it was just simply overcooked and thus we had to ask the staff to take a look and again, they brought it in and replaced with another. But she did mention that the new one may still be equally tough as well, so I guess it's just the fish they used? Or the way they cook it? I am honestly clueless... All I can say is that if cod fish were so hard, no one will ever eat fish and chips using this fish for sure. But then again, all the waitresses/staffs were great and 1 of them was even very cheerful and makes my day just by hearing her serve others. We also ordered 1 portion of the BBQ pork belly which was delicious too and value for money in my opinion. So actually it could have been perfect and if I ever get the chance again, I will be back for sure! Just not ordering the cod fish soup would do for me. The tofu, I hope it's a one off incident. So while giving it a 3 stars, I feel bad for the restaurant. And finally they served us some complimentary ice cream with oranges, which was a nice gesture. We arent sure if that was due to the 2 reasons above or its served to everyone else. We do appreciate that alot and was tempted to give it another star for that. But still, I guess for a top notch restaurant, the above 2 incidents should not have happened anywhere in the world. I have said this earlier, but I will still be back.

The food served at this place is beyond amazing! Friendly staff, fresh ingredients, nice atmosphere and the best Korean pancakes I have ever tried outside of Korea.

Acabamos de regresar de un viaje a Seúl, estábamos muy interesados en probar nuestro restaurante coreano más cercano, pero fue muy decepcionante.Fue desconcertante descubrir que no había carne de res sin marinar disponible para la barbacoa. Así que elegimos la lengua, solo para encontrar que cuando se traía a la mesa venía en rebanadas congeladas. La objeción a esto (y nunca nos ha sucedido así antes) es que hace que sea difícil cocinar con precisión, ya que es demasiado fácil de cocer el exterior mientras que el interior todavía está descongelado, pero ¿por qué no lo fue? ¿Fresco? ¿Sirven tan poco, que no llevan lengua fresca?Y el bibimbap de carne de res era pobre, ya que se había cocinado en exceso de carne de calidad incierta, muy pocos acompañamientos de verduras, lo que no se compensaba con la cantidad de arroz en exceso. El resto estaba equivocado, pero la carne de res inadecuada también era problemática.

My family had dinner at Sarang. the young waitress was very kind. she kindly helped us to place our order. Their staffs are all Korean! I definitely recommend their BBQ and yangnyumchicken!

Came here for lunch though they don't have a set menu.I had fried chicken with u doing noodles in soup.A green salad comes with it.OK nothing exceptional. Green tea was a teabag in a glass.The bill came to £11.70.

El jueves por la noche no está ocupado. Todos los platos estaban salados y el sabor pesado MSG. La señora era muy agresiva y tiró todo en la barbacoa y cocinó la carne. El cap jae era acuoso y los fideos de vidrio eran demasiado duros. Bbq set no vale la pena en absoluto. En general, no es un buen restaurante coreano.

Un amigo mío y yo visitamos este restaurante hace unas dos semanas para el almuerzo. Entramos, nos sentamos y pedimos el menú. Primero tuve que alimentar a mi bebé, así que le dije a la señora que le daré el biberón antes de que empiece a llorar y después haré mi pedido.

A really grim experience. Seafood rice wrap was soaking in icy water. All its ingredients were straight from the fridge, except the "prawns" which were tiny sodden tasteless commas from the freezer. A request for more mustard sauce resulted in the waitress bringing forth the kitchen squeezy bottle to replenish the sauce dish. The bill arrived unasked for and without a request as to whether I should like anything else. I asked for a desert menu out of curiosity. I was told they served cheese cake or chocolate cake. This sort of place would utterly ruin Korea's gastronomic reputation if the guest had not tried the nation's food before.

My friend and I had lunch at Sarang. Ordered kimchi jjigae, bibimbap and some side dishes. Bibimbap was a good and big portio. Rice was good and crunchy, but the beef was really dry. The kimchi jjigae was tasty, but really small. That a kind of a let down. Knowing that Korean food is really about the spice, it was disappointing that the overall spice off the food we ordered (kimchi and pa muchim for example) wasn't spicy. We we're served by a cute Korean auntie. She worked really hard. Would come back again and try their BBQ.

I have been to a lot of korean restaurants but by far this is the best one yet. I love their kimchi jjigae and the jjajangmyun is the best ever! Their bulgogi just melts in your mouth and their other food tastes heavenly. The owner is very sweet and lovely. I definitely recommend this korean restaurant.

Este lugar está bien. Pero después de estar en. Seúl y tratando otros lugares en Londres, no es el mejor en la zona de Corea, especialmente porque hay un lugar lejos coreano en la esquina con comidas más barato.

Esta fue nuestra tercera visita a Sarang y simplemente se pone mejor. Comida coreana se está convirtiendo en nuestro favorito de la cocina en parte debido a este restaurante. Namul Modum un sabor fresco y limpio para comenzar que tiene todos los sabores de sésamo y decapado de Corea que cabe esperar, el Pancake kimchee es genial y probamos el pollo frito Kampoongi que tenía el tono de recubrimiento bateador en la mundo! Este plato era increíble.

Estado planeando visitar por un tiempo y después finalmente decidir para probar.

Fuimos a Sarang en domingo por la tarde. El ambiente es agradable y el personal muy amable. La comida no es muy caliente y muy sabroso. Empezamos con panecillos recién hechos y una tortita kimchi para compartir. La carne y rollos de camarón son muy buenas, pero es el kimchi pancake algo que pedir de nuevo la próxima vez; sabroso, no grasienta y el crujido a la derecha.

ママ友十人で土曜日の夜にお邪魔しましたが、店内は満員でした。韓国料理の定番である石焼ビビンバ、チヂミ、チャプチェ、各種お野菜のお漬物、白いスープ（名前が分かりません）どれを取っても大変おいしかったです。特に店長さんからサービスで出して頂いた白菜のキムチは適度に辛くてジューシーで、今まで食べた中で一番美味しいキムチだと思いました。徳利で出てきた韓国のお酒は柔らかいお味で、これまた美味でした。ビールは普段飲まないものの、こちらの韓国ビールは飲みやすかったです。

Excellent bulgogi beef on the bbq. The owner is very nice and helpful in recommending good things on the menu. The chicken dop bap is also a firm favourite.

Underbar, genuin koreansk mat. Liten, mysig och enkel restaurang som är värd en omväg. Besökte Sarang med min man och dotter och vi var mer än nöjda efteråt alla tre. Jag beställde Biff Bimbimbap som var smakrik, vackert presenterad och dessutom en mycket stor portion. Maken beställde en annan biffrätt som han tyckte var jättegod och dottern åt en väldigt god kycklingrätt. Personalen var hjälpsam och vänlig. Priserna var mycket låga. Härligt ställe som jag verkligen vill rekommendera.

First experience of Korean food as opposed to Chinese, Japanese,Thai and the rest and I was pleasantly surprised; it came over as being unique and different. Reasonably quite, bright and clean, very pleasant staff who helped us choose and how to eat,and service was prompt and efficient. We had a selection of barbequed meats and (very) hot bowls comprising rice or noodles with the chosen meat and then vegetables... One bowl and shared barbeque meat is enough for one. We got the kitchen to prepare the barbeque for us but there is an option to cook it yourself at the table... a great party trick but not for us that day. Wine list is house red or white, three beers in bottles and a fair selection of oriental wines and spirits. For once, I'll have to admit that the Hite lager-style beer was just fine with the meal although a bit pure and light for me and no proper ale required. I'll be back on this one.

We visited this restaurant for a family members bday. We ordered a few sides as well as two BBQ sets. We were a party of four and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. The food was great and the meats were all nicely marinated. The service was great and the waitresses kept on coming over to check on us and our food was cooking. Even the owner came out to say hi to us. We went on a Monday night and the restaurant was packed out with local Koreans- always a good sign in my books. Booking is a must as the restaurant is not very big and parties seem to stay for a long time savouring every item.The pork and their sweet and sour chicken was amazing.Would highly recommend and def be going again!!

Went there for lunch with my aunt, we had the BBQ lunch sets at £17. As I'm from Asia, I tell u, they cook their food just as how Korean does it. The meats are of high quality, the seafood tasted fresh. The pickled vegetable is absolutely original. The portions are unexpectedly generous. My aunt is already planning for her next visit. What an amazing gem of a place. A hot metal pot filled with rice and the meat/veg/tofu of your choice for only £7.50 . ( i think). Delicious, hot on a cold day with chili if you like. Great value and great quality. I shall be back....

It helps that this is the favourite restaurant of my Korean friend. She knew exactly what to order and how to enjoy it and it was a superb experience with new flavours and textures ! The service was great and after absolutely stuffing ourselves accompanied with the necessary drinks, the bill came out very reasonable ( for London that is). Will return again !!

Had I read some of the reviews on here before going, I would have been put off I think! But I'm really glad I didn't, as the food was delicious. The staff were friendly, and I liked the decor. The restaurant is traditionally Asian, in the sense that food arrives when it's ready, so it's probably not a restaurant you would visit for a leisurely 3 course meal, but the food was extremely tasty, with plenty of vegetarian options.

I've tried quite a few Korean restaurants in London but this was by far one of the best. It's closely situated to central London- as its a close walk to the tube stations. Service was fast -our food arrived within minutes. There's a large selection of food to choose from in the menu, we decided on the Korean BBQ and noodles and broths. The Korean BBQ was my particular favourite, it's delicious!For five of us we ended up spending £59

We were looking for a place to have lunch near the Tube station, and we ventured in Sarang. It is a small place, tables are equipped with grills, some oriental-style decorations trying to create the appropriate atmosphere, enhanced (or not ?) by pictures of the owner with special visitors - I only recognised the one with Boris Johnson (somehow clashing with the oriental décor). Service was swift and efficient, the food was tasteful and the menu offered many choices. In two we spent £ 30, for two appetizers, two mains and one green tea; no service charge was added. Overall, a pleasant oriental-style lunch.

I been here few times, I go there mainly because every sauces and recipes are homemade by the owner, which is a lovely lady.You can taste is fresh and nicely presented, it is a nice place to eat Korean food in North London.

There were free on-street parking in the evening on Golders Green Road, which is a short walk from Sarang. The restaurant is also next to the tube/bus station - easy for my friend travelling from central London. Better still, the boss lady told me the proper way of eating my maeun tang.

My wife and I have passed this restaurant many times and have always wanted to visit. We went on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. The restaurant was empty, but that didn't stop us giving it a go.Restaurant: Very basic desgin with benches and tables, each with a 'BBQ' in the middle. (I add inverted comma's to BBQ as it's more an electric filament than anything else). The decor is mediocre, and there is very little scope for atmosphere, relfected in the staff as they spent most of the time chatting to each other.Menu: Extensive menu but scarily everything on the menu has a photo next to it of the dish! (Always a put off for me). The prices are not that cheap, and to be honest, I would in fact say everything is overpriced.Food: So I asked about the BBQ, and the set BBQ is 19.50GBP. I was starving, ans asked if this was a big dish at this price, (as it came with 4 meats) and the waitress simply said no, its small!! We ordered one BBQ and one soup, and both were on the table within 2 minutes!! The BBQ was tiny, and really not worth the money. Several wafer thin slices of meat were placed on the pathetic grill, and it barely even sizzled cooked, almost steaming in its own juice making the meat tough and chewy. The soup was a basic noodle soup with seafood, again, bland and nothing special.Price: Expensive considering the portions are tiny!Overall: Poor quality "BBQ" food, poor quality service and very expensive. I will never come here again, and I will not recommend this place to anyone. Sorry Sarang, big FAIL.

Went here for lunch on a whim and discovered the most tasty beef spicy beef soup ever. Service was great and the food was just the right portion and simply delicious. Will definitely be back.

Sarang is right outside the bus and Tube station in Golders Green so very convenient to travel to. When we went with friends for an informal meal to try out a new cuisine, we chose Korean and this place featured when we searched. We were sat quickly without waiting having arrived on time for a booked table. The explanations of the various dishes could have been far better and more informative considering the large large menu. The staff were far too harrying in trying to get us to order even though it was obvious we were not familiar with the food or menu. Generally menu terms were good value with the exception being the barbeque specials which are supposed to be eaten with lettuce and spring onions ... these were not included in the already steep £20 barbeque price and added another £7 for a few lettuce leaves and spring onions. This is the kind of nickel and diming approach that makes one feel ripped off. The food was tasty .. we were not used to some of the flavours but that is the fun of discovering a new cuisine. If the owners spend some time understanding what price point they should aim for, they would have worked out how to price consistently across the menu. This together with trying to understand better how to treat customers new to the cuisine and their menu would provide huge opportunity for Sarang to become busier like it's not too distant neighbour Blue Pacific.

Came here with my mum for a casual dinner, my mum likes korean food, but it was our first time here. We had kimchee pancakes for starter and some seaweed and pickled vegetables, followed by seafood spicy soup and kimchee soup. The food was lovely, the service was very attentive and the place cosy and clean.My mum liked it so much that she brought some colleagues following weekend and judging by their raving reviews, they will be back.And I surely would like to try their barbecue next time...

The concept of a Korean BBQ, where the waiter prepares in front of you the barbecue, was tempting for our family do. Indeed it should be less formal than another restaurant. But it was not. The waiters were a bit distant, may be due to their lack of mastering English, or for whatever reasons. The food was correct, but nothing exciting. We compensate that with the pleasure to meet the family again!

We tried Shigumchi soup and Yuk Ke Jang soup. Both soups were very aromatic and teasty. We also ordered Beef Dob Bab and Pork Dob Bab. Vegetables were very crispy, good quality meat and well cooked rice. It was incredible experience!

Yangnyom chicken was a sauce poured over when it has to be added during cooking and baked on; nengmyon had very little "mul" and needed to be sent back for improvement; don katsu was the cardboard-thin stuff straight from the freezer; kimchi-jon was very overcooked. None of it was really terrible though, just could be so much better.

We went to Sarang on a Saturday evening at 5:30pm for dinner. We chose this restaurant because we want to have Korean food, and also because it starts serving from 5pm. Since the dinner time for our two young children is 5:30pm, Sarang is a perfect choice for us. I had read a few reviews on TripAdvisor before I go, but I would say my experience has been very good, totally disagreeing with the bad reviews.1. The portion is good size, if you have been to any Korean restaurant, the size is a lot smaller than what they serve in Sarang. Sarang portion is considered as good size!!!2. Their price is good compare to other Korean restaurant3. Their service is excellent. There is a call bell on each table, and if you cannot get anyone, just press the button. One of my kid has knocked over the whole bowl of rice onto the floor, the waitress quickly tidy it up, no complain...4. They are so child-friendly, children's cutlery, bowl, seat, whatever you need for a child5. The food is tasty with good value of money. I would go again with my friends again, so definitely recommend it

Sarang has a great location of being across the road from Golders Green station and not wanting to walk far after a long day we decided to give it a try. The meal had a promising start, the goon mandoo/ pan fried dumplings came out first and tasted lovely. Followed by the kimchee jun/ kimchee and vegetable pancakes and kimchee chige/ kimchee, tofu and pork soup that was accompanied with a bowl of plain rice was also fresh and tasty. However, the yuke dolsot which is more commonly known as raw beef bibimbap came with a stone bowl that was not hot enough and the raw beef just didn't cook. Which was a shame as the table next to us who came in half way through our meal had piping hot bowls that sizzled on contact with the sauce. A good indication is that our rice had no crispy bits at all which for me is the highlight of a bibimbap and the beef remained pink even after burying it under the rice at the bottom of the bowl. Our order of haemul topokki/ spicy seafood rice cakes was not really cooked through and definitely had a hard texture and not the chewy texture that we usually come across. The lady who took our order highly recommended the ojinjo bokum which is a stir fried squid in spicy sauce and she said trust her we will love it. Well lady, what it essentially is is the haemul topokki without the rice cakes and mussels, it's cooked in the same sauce and even has identical looking squid. It was a shame because the meal started off well but halfway through the meal the dishes started to taste all the same and my taste palate was not happy. I won't be in a hurry to return I'm afraid.

My boyfriend and I came here after work on a random Tuesday when we didn't feel like cooking and wanted to try something different. I've only been to one other korean hot-pot style restaurant before and have to say this didn't compare. The place always seems empty whenever I walk by. While the food was alright, the service was a little bit overbearing and I think the prices were too high for the quality of the food.

We came here as our preferred eatery, Eat Tokyo, was full. But what a find and wish we came here more often. Authentic Korean food - we did not try the BBQ but went for the noodles, dumplings, omelette, raw beef salad, and everything was as expected with lovely Kim Chee, tantalising flavours and perfected cooked noodles. The beef ribs noodles were excellent, as was the Kim Chee noodles and so were the fried noodle dishes. Service was polite from the owner and all the clientele appeared to be Korean. Will definitely return. One of the best Korean places I have been to in London - I would say even better than some in the Korean enclave of New Malden.

Only one waiter was on duty, who at times were helped out by kitchen staff. Food was not over portioned.

Just had my lunch there. The food was avaerage, the staff was quite nice but my overall experience was letting me down. I ordered a £19.50 barbecue set. When they bought me lettuces and salad, I thought those was supposed to come with the set. Actually they were separated. Why the hell they charged me something I didn't order?! They hadn't even asked me if I needed those. When i checked the bill, it came out near £30. I told the waitress that I didn't order the lettuces or salad but she didn't even give me a damn. Finally I paid for the whole things. Well, I've learnt a lesson and im sure I'll never go back there again.

Seen Sarang many times, this Saturday night my hubby &amp; I decided to give it a go. Quite busy alot of asian/Korean people which we took as a good sign. Very welcoming and friendly staff. Each table has its own bbq grill. Ordered beef soup for starters which was delicious, for me the best part of dinner. Also for starters beef roll &amp; fried tofu with vegetables. For the main we ordered the set Bbq 1, + spicy squid.( it's not alot of meat that you actually get) You grill these with the help of the staff, they show u how they eat it IN Korea, wrap it in lettuce with soybean paste and spring onions. Tasty. Kim chi was good. All very strong flavours. All in all was a nice dinner. Can not fault the staff one bit, helpful &amp; constantly making sure you are ok. The bill was £69. For the area, the amount of food we felt it was a bit pricey. I was expecting £50 ish. I Would go back though to try other dishes as they had a good extensive menu.

A group of 25 of us came here for Saturday lunch. We took up about half of the restaurant so it wasn't at its full capacity. Despite this, they couldn't cope with all the orders at once. Food arrived when it was ready. Some peoples food arrived quickly. Mine after 50 minutes and others after 1 hour and a quarter even. It wasn't like we all ordered much - just a dish each. No one checked if the food was OK and if we needed more drinks. At least the food was good. I think the rice portion at £2.50 could have been bigger though or cheaper. Same with my main dish. I did feel a little cheated at the 10% service charge given that I didn't feel we had any service. I'd give the place another chance, but not as a group and not if the restaurant was busy!

We recently had a lunch here. We were welcomed by a stern lady, who directed us to leave our pram (containing our 6 month old) in the corner, so that she could sit on our lap. I asked for a high chair and she told us that we had to sit at another table then. She brought a really dirty (filthy actually) booster chair, which was so unstable, that I had to constantly have my hand on my child during our lunch.We didn't order the BBQ, but instead chose a selection from their menu. A stand out dish was a spicy pork stir-fried, however the other dishes were not overwhelming delicious but were ok.Our visit was ultimately marred by a lady (presumably a former employee) who was waiting at the front of our restaurant, next to our table, for the owner/manager who was seated with a group of people at the back of the restaurant bad-mouthing her so that we could hear. Very unprofessional and unnecessary.Thank goodness there are many other restaurants in Golders Green with better food, service and respect for not only their diners, but for people in general.

I always love Korean food but it's only my first visit to Sarang last night.Positives: i) Great quality of food as we ordered BBQ set 1 menu (4/5), Chicken stone rice (4/5), Tofu stone rice (4/5), Kimchi (3/5) and 2 cans of coke. The BBQ marinated beef and chicken were tender, tasty and juicy. Stone rices were cooked traditionally in Korean style and tasted lovely too ii) Staff were very friendly and paid attention to detail! Although no one bothered to serve us after seated &amp; my wife had to go to the counter to draw their attentions.iii) Foods were served very quickly which was perfect for us - as we were extremely hungry iv) Nice decoration inside the restaurant tooNegatives: i) The size of BBQ set portion was too small and too expensive. With the price of £20/ set, I would expect at least double the size than what I saw - I think the food cost not more than £6 in total (see picture attached - 2 small slices of beef, 1 slice of chicken, 2 prawns - that's all!)ii) The seats were quite uncomfortable - I couldn't even be able to fit into my seat without moving the table forward as the chair was unmoveable if someone sat behind you. Overall....Good quality of food but a bit too expensive and the BBQ set was too small. 2 of us cost £47 &amp; we didn't eat much. I would at least need 2 more portions of BBQ sets to feel enough and it would be £44 more (inc service charge) I have finally understood why every restaurant is crowded in Golders Green but this one always deserted with no customer. (because it's too expensive) Anyway, I would still recommend it to anyone who loves Korean BBQ food, or if you want try something different from Eat Toyko, and if you don't mind to be slightly overcharged. I would go back.

Went there tonight and ordered from the set BBQ menu, we also had the Yuk Whe to start which was absolutely delicious. The staff were friendly and attentive and took care to come back and check on our meat and cut it up when ready. The pork belly was so tasty and the bulgogi and galbi were great too.I'd like to go back and try their bibimbap and other dishes!

My second visit here and impressed with the service and friendly welcome. I opted for a pot dish, Ttukbaegi Bulgogi, marinated sliced beef in a hot stone bowl. This dish was served with rice, albeit a little too small, but the best rice I have had in a long time. The dish itself was really delicious, with so much flavour and seasoning, fantastic! Slightly underwhelmed when my dinner arrived, it appeared quite small for a main meal but in fact it ended up being very satisfying. My only gripe was the green tea at £2.50, I would expect fresh leaves and a pot, not a tea bag, although high quality. I will return here to try other dishes, nice music too.

è tardissimo il giorno di capodanno, quasi le 22:30 e considerando che non siamo in centro temiamo di non poter più cenare. quindi entriamo nel primo ristorante che troviamo. eccoci al sarang. attratti dall'idea di conoscere questa cucina ci lasciamo spiegare i piatti dal cameriere. chiediamo il barbecue e prontamente ci accende dentro il nostro tavolo una griglia dove cuocere la carne. arrivano i mul mandoo (raviolini bolliti di maiale, nulla di speciale) con quelli fritti un po' piu' buoni (gun mandoo). seguono sogogi e saewoo mari (involtini di verdure in carta di riso) molto insipidi. poi ordiniamo delle zuppe di spaghettoni sia con carne, sia con frutti di mare (udong). poi finalmente la carne agognata sul barbecue che ci delude per l'esiguità e l'insipidità. sottlissime strisce di manzo, pollo, maiale che non appena cotte il cameriere ci taglia con le forbici. da bere birra coreana e tè al gelsomino. servizio incluso obbligatorio £ 26 a persona.

The menu looks great, but if you cannot speak Korean, (like me) asking the waitress for recommendations or descriptions is hopeless. She just read the headings out, so it was pot luck really. Probably would not go back.

Prepared to experience Korean food we decided on this restaurant with table BBQs. We chose a selection of meets to BBQ which came with a SMALL side salad. We also ordered the Seafood Rice dish which looked very lonely in a big hot bowl!Our drinks were a bottle of beer and a can of diet coke (330 mls) that I find hard to believe I was charged £2.50 a can. There was 10% added to the final bill and we left frustrated that we, as savvy diners, had been truly fleeced. We sat on a bench eating a bag of salt and vinegar crisps from the local supermarket to get rid of the bad taste of this dining experience..

This was one of the few Asian restaurants in Golders Green that I had not visited.I wenr there with a friend on Saturday.I was interested in the barbeque meats but it was difficult to work out from the waitress's poor English whether this would be enough for twoI had seafood noodle soup and my friend had seafood noodleBoth dishes were acceptable without being exceptional.They charged £2.50 for a glass of green tea and the same for a coke,which with service lifted the bill to nearly £20,certainly no bargin.

We have had some very good meals at Sarang, try the large chilli prawns. I agree they have off days, we have had them too, but they are rear. Most annoying thing is the lack of English, although I sometimes think they play on it and understand more than they let on. Its a bit pricey and they love sticking a hefty service on top hoping you wont notice. But we will go back.

I absolutely loved the restaurant. This was my first time trying Korean food. And first time seeing food being cooked in front of me on the dining table. Its a shame i visited only on my last night in London otherwise i would have definitely gone there more than once. But it was a great meal to end my trip with!! Food was amazing in taste and fresh (obviously). Great service. Very good experience overall. I too am surprised to see negative reviews about Sarang on tripadvisor.

Whoa! My fiancee and I are absolutely shocked with the reviews of the place here on tripadvisor. We had an entirely different experience of the place. It was my first visit to a Korean barbeque restaurant (my fiancee has been to several, in the UK, Thailand and in Korea too). And I must say it was all good. We visited on a Sunday late evening and it had about 8 patrons amidst a seating capacity of around 50-60. During the course of our dinner, there were a few couples and families who filled up the place. One noticed 90% of the patrons were of oriental lineage, which IMO is always a good evaluation parameter of an authentic oriental restaurant. We ordered fried baby octopus as starters, prawns &amp; pork bbq and a rice &amp; tofu dish. My fiancee loved the special Korean honey &amp; plum tea. It was refreshing, delicious and soothing in the December weather. The electronic bbq is very elegantly and aesthetically set into the table. The staff came around regularly to check on the cooking, turn around the meats and serve the food on dishes. The food itself was brilliant! We found the staff to friendly enough and the service pretty good. No complaints at all. Wonder if we were lucky or an exception, given the reviews here. Our dinner along with two bottles of beer cost around 40 quid, so yes, one could say it was a tad below premium. But, from our experience, we would say that Sarang is worth a visit.

Went there recently for dinner after reading decent reviews on London's Time Out. Should have left when we saw that we were the only people in the restaurant - but we didn't. The waitress stood over us while we ordered but had such limited English that she could not help or advise us. We ordered at 20.30, at 20.35 the starters were delivered - not bad dim sum type dumplings and nice soup. I promise this is true.....we heard the microwave ding and at 20 45 the main course arrived. The rice portion was extremely mean but the main courses were satisfactory. We got the bill at 21.05 - no point in hanging around and keeping the staff up - and then we were told that their credit card machine did not work and we were directed around the corner to a cash machine. By the way, the miniscule portions of rice were a startling £2.50 each. AVOID.

My wife treated me to a celebration meal today. The sign outside said: "On the table BBQ Lunch Time All food 50% off " with a photo of barbeque dishes. Imagine our disappointment when the bill came: the manageress explained (in awful English) that barbeque dishes (£19.95) are excluded from the deal. (The lunchtime menu certainly doesn't say that). And the compulsory service charge is not 10% of the bill price, as you might expect, but 10% of what the full price would have been (which is going to work out nearer 15%, depending on what you have). It felt as uncomfortable as the chef coming out with a knife to every table and demanding an extra £10 from everyone whenever they feel like it. Or maybe they only scam the non-Koreans. I must admit the food was really very good! Despite this, I will never go there again, and I am trying to contact Office of Fair Trading because I hate being cheated.
