Saporita Norwich in Norwich

Came in yesterday for lunch after searching for a dog friendly restaurant. Reviews were good so decided to give it a try. We ordered 3 courses and some olives. Some menu items were not available which we were informed of quickly. Olives were great quality and i could have devoured several portions. I ordered the fried mix, everything was great, the stuffed olive and fried courgette were the best part. It also had 1 piece of fried polenta, 2 mozzarella sticks and 2 other cheese and herb fritters. I could tell some were pre frozen but quality was top notch so they didnt detract from the fresh items. My friend had the burrata which looked amazing, lovely presentation, portions of everything were great. For main we ordered a slice of lucifero pizza and a Da vinci piadina . Both were freshly prepared and had plenty of toppings. To finish we both ordered an affogato, espresso was lovely and strong. Not too bitter, the ice-cream was hazelnut and even had a chocolate center. (I highly recommended this if you visit). The restaurant was busy when we arrived, had a great homely atmosphere, staff were attentive and friendly. I will definitely be returning soon to try some more of the menu without a doubt.

One of Norwich’s hidden gems. Sharing platters are beautiful to look at and equally tasty to eat. Service staff are very polite, understated, knowledgable and considerate. No upselling and no nonsense. Don’t bother going to one of the national chain so called ‘Italian’ restaurants because they don’t compare.

Visited here for a friend's birthday recently and was very impressed. This was the 1st time that 6 out of 7 of us had been and we really enjoyed it. Great quality pizza, excellent value for money! The woman who served us, Veronika I think was her name, was really friendly, smiley and very accommodating. She really made us feel so welcome and even remembered my friend, despite him not visiting for over 4 years which was pre lockdown! Would happily visit again.

When we chose Saporita as the venue in which we celebrated our small wedding, we were expecting delicious Italian food. What we received was so much more—a truly unforgettable evening, filled with love, laughter and incredible food, provided by a wonderful family. Saporita is more than just a restaurant; it’s a haven for anyone who wants to sample real Italian cuisine with a twist. While they serve outstanding pizza, what really sets Saporita apart from the rest is the wide array of mouthwatering dishes that showcase the depth and diversity of Italian cooking. Mama is honestly a genius, one of the highlights of our celebration was the fact that they crafted an entirely vegetarian menu for us, whilst also accommodating every single dietary need we threw at them with remarkable ease and attention to detail. Over the course of the evening, Mama catered not only for vegetarians but vegans, a celiac and someone with a nut allergy, making every member of our party feel cared for and included. Throughout the evening, we were treated to a seemingly endless parade of delectable dishes, each morsel more delicious than the last, we were made to feel like we were a part of the family, and no request was too much, Veronica and the entire team were exceptionally warm, personal, and attentive without being intrusive. Our wedding celebration at Saporita was nothing short of perfect. It was intimate, joyous, and filled with love—a true reflection of the restaurant’s spirit. If you’re looking for an authentic Italian family experience, whether for a special occasion or just a memorable meal, we can’t recommend Saporita highly enough. They helped to make our wedding day everything we could have dreamed of and more, and I’m sure they’ll do the same for anyone who walks through their doors. (Honourable mentions from the menu include: the Panzerotti, the Taglieri – wow, just wow, and the Zucchinina Pizza!)

This is so over rated and over priced - ridiculous considering there are soooo many other better Italians to visit - namely the one on Timber Hill and even the franchise chains are better.

It was one of the best Italian foods outside of sunny Italy 🇮🇹 ! Fantastic place!

Fantastic family run restaurant. Italian deli-like atmosphere with a real authentic feel. The waitress/owner clearly loved her job, singing and whistling along to the Italian tunes; that way that puts a smile on your face. My family and I ordered the 'full pizza' option and chose 4 different flavours as well as a few juices. The pear juice had a subtle, sweet, delicate flavour. Very nice. I cannot remember the names of the pizza slices but they did not miss! When pizza was placed on the table, I noticed the base was quite thick and I thus expected a bready experience. But to my surprise, the base was light and fluffy with a beautiful crunch on the bottom! The cheeses were stretchy, light, and in perfect quantities on each slice. Each ingredient was noticeably high quality; the cheese, meats and vegetables tasted very fresh with no excess grease. The side of fries were a perfect pairing- simple salted fries with a steamy crunch that satisfies your palate. To our surprise, we were all happily full by the end of the pizza. (16" for 4 people! (£28!)) Final bill was £42! To finish, these beautiful people know how to do customer service! They made sure that we did not miss out when something was unavailable. A establishment who are clearly passionate about Italian food, I recommend this to all!

Real Italian pizza and Italians in Norwich

We had lunch in Saporita today. Ordering a mushroom pizza to share and it was absolutely fantastic. Without doubt the best pizza we have ever had. The service was quick, friendly and the environment was lovely. We will definitely be back. Highly recommended. Thank you Saporita for a great lunch.

Lovely little hole in the wall of an Italian deli/pizzeria, reasonable prices and good Italian drinks. The pizza is focaccia based, so don't expect stone fire baked pizzas and you & your guests won't be disappointed. :)

Brilliant service from the moment we walked in the door. My wife has allergies and they were able to accommodate no problems which was reassuring. Drink wise they have soft drinks, beer, wine and spritz types of drinks - no spirits. Pizzas can be made with vegan cheese as well as gluten free. The vegan cheese was really nice and wasn’t like the usual stick to the roof of your mouth! The pizza was lovely and light with great flavours - best tasting we have had and I have sampled a lot of pizza around the world!

The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was fab! Would definitely recommend, the only thing to be aware of is the chairs we had were small wooden ones with basically no back support which meant it was quite an uncomfortable meal. There were some different chairs but the majority appeared to look the same as ours. Forgot to get a photo so this one was from last time we were here!

A return visit to our favourite Deli and Italian restaurant in Norwich. The food/products are delicious and the service is friendly. Well catered for babies / children with changing facilities and a high chair. Easy access to water which is always appreciated. We will be back again!

Cosy atmosphere, friendly staff, lots of imported Italian produce available for sale including chilled deli options and dried/tinned goods. Yummy deep fried panzerotti (I recommend the bolognese Ragu filled option) and giant slices of deep-crust pizza - will be coming back! 🍕 also very affordable (just over £20 for two drinks, two large pizza slices and the deep fried filled dough to share as a nice starter)

Such a lovely evening. The Antipasti was new to me, but quite nice, though I didn't eat the olives. Loved my pizza and my drinks. Everything arrived on time. Setting was just right fir our party. I eyed my colleagues' ice-creams - I didn't know you could get ice-cream at a pizza place. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Saporita has been somewhere I've always missed out on and today I finally had the pleasure of trying it for the first time. The food, atmosphere and service were all 10/10. We had a slice of pizza each (couldn't believe the size and quality, amazing), and my god, the panina was by far the best bread and meat combo I've ever had. It's all I've thought about since, the bread doesn't make you feel bloated and is clearly baked to perfection. The lady serving clearly takes pride in her work. Hats off to you! Also, dog friendly!! Until next time! (Hopefully very soon!).

Everything was great. Panzerotti was our favourite, we would add twice the amount of filling though. Their pizzas are thick crust, we prefer thin, although the dough was very nice - soft inside and crispy at the bottom - not doughy. House wine nice and smooth as well. The girl serving was lovely, loved her service and attitude, we felt welcome and looked after.

Absolutely delicious pizza, and very good prices considering the portions. Would recommend only one quarter slice (£4-7 each) unless particularly hungry or with large appetites.

A great little place. The menu is fairly simple, but is done very well. A great selection of pizze, panini, antipasti and more. I've tried several things, and they were all excellent. The atmosphere is fantastic and the staff are all really friendly. As well as the menu, there are also some great Italian products to take home with you, pasta, biscotti, formaggi, prosciutti. This is a great spot for lunch or for dinner. Deve visitare. Buon appetito!

Delicimo is all we can say. Warm welcome from Veronica and shown to our table. Drinks ordered and quickly delivered. I had the La Saporita Tuscan Focaccia, mmmmmmclosedeyestasty! Partner had the 'spektacular' Montanaro, which has Speck on it!!! Tiramisu for pud. Light and creamy They are now open on Sundays so might pop along soon. Ciao

We were in Norwich on Saturday and tried several restaurants for lunch but everywhere was very busy so we couldn’t get in. We stumbled across Saporita by chance and they had a table so we thought we would give it a try. Wow! So pleased we found this delightful little restaurant. The pizza was delicious and all of the food that was coming out to other tables looked equally as tasty. Great atmosphere, reasonably priced and lovely friendly staff. We will be back!

Best pizza on Norwich. Amazing date location, especially if on route to another activity.

We managed to get a table last minute on Saturday night. The menu was a good surprise offering small portion, unique Italian dishes. You can also buy good quality meat, cheese and sweets from their deli.

Great atmosphere within a small desaturated which seats around 20, service speed is fast due to the size and the staff are welcoming.

Great food, friendly staff, nice you can order slices so you can mix n match. Prices very reasonable. Very recommended!

Coming from an Italian, this place is the best Italian restaurant I have ever been to. Everything about this place is amazing. The Italian ambience feels like home, the amazing service where they go above and beyond. The pizza is out of this world, if you’re a true Italian you know this is the real thing. Highly recommended

We were welcomed into a chatty and inviting restaurant and seated next to a window. We were guided to Gluten Free recipes and told what was unsuitable for someone with Coeliacs. The staff were attentive and delightful. And the food was delicious! At great value too! It's always a safe bet to eat at Saporita!

This place looks fantastic inside and out, really authentic and Italian with nice little innocent touches like the faux windows and lighting and food hanging from ceiling etc, staff are super friendly. I really thought I’d be in for a treat. The pizza is quite expensive at £20 odd which was my first red flag (but hey If it’s good pizza then no big deal): Then the food came out which consisted of Focaccio bread with some smeared tomato paste and a bit of mozzarella cheese on top. I’ve had cheese on toast that tastes better than this. This is up there with worst pizza I’ve ever had. They are clearly counting on the English reserve and tourists (or just the British not knowing awful pizza unless the surroundings are a kebab shop)….I can’t imagine a lot of repeat customers with this con (amazing that places like this stay in business and I can’t see this one lasting if they don’t up their game). I’m fairly certain the staff knew this pizza is cheap and terrible and all about presentation as they were all Italian. You’d be laughed out the country serving pizza like this over there. Luke warm with some tasteless mozzarella cheese sprinkled on top. Don’t be fooled by this scam (it’s all about appearance and is skin deep). I asked for a full refund. They gave it to me but not without a bit of attitude….I recommend Donnelli's which is half the price with much better food (atmosphere and service there is not quite as good as this place but the no nonsense approach and food wins). Every Italian on here has given this place a bad review - go figure

Having eaten here many times I can happily say this place has a consistently a warm, friendly and homely vibe. It’s very family friendly. The menu is simple but effective and most importantly perfectly executed. I’ve never found so much flavour to in a pizza dough before. The extra work and attention they put in to the dough really pays off and sets them miles apart from other pizzerias. A flavour perfectly matched by an exquisite outer crunchy crust and a pillowy soft centre. Demonstrating the perfect balance of thickness of a pizza base. Different style to your typical thin based Neapolitan but this difference sets it aside and for me elevates it into the rank of the best pizza in Norwich.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Saporita and I must say that Morgan, one of the staff members, truly made my experience exceptional. Morgan's exceptional service made my experience dining at this restaurant even better. From the moment I entered the restaurant, Morgan greeted me with a warm and genuine smile, immediately making me feel welcome. Morgan is also very attentive and has a genuine interest in my satisfaction and her willingness to go above and beyond truly stood out. The food here is great and it is a great Italian deli all family run with the main cook being the mum’s owner. Overall, Great pizzas, impeccable and kind staff, with options of small savoury dishes as well.

Very disappointed, unfortunately although the owners may be Italian, the pizza certainly wasn’t. The slice was was deep pan (like a frozen pizza), dense, and had hardly any tomato sauce. It was all a slab of cheese on bread, and served with a plastic knife. Very overpriced and tasted awful. Not what I was expecting at all, I had read such good reviews about it, but I think those people have never had true Italian pizza before, or even any good pizza. It’s shocking!

Their pizza base is thick, but very light - really delicious. They also use very high quality toppings. The staff who work there are wonderful, helpful and very kind-hearted. Best pizza place!

Overall okay. My pizza choice a bit bland. Maybe should've gone for anchovies or spicy topping. Tiramisu was good. Fresh ingredients etc. Service good. Would go again but choose different main.

Flavor that reminds me of Italy.

The first time we went here it was lovely. Yesterday was awful. It was busy, but once we’d received our food, no one came back to see us except hurriedly clearing our plates. We had to ask for more drinks, then had to wait while they put away cutlery before we got them. We waited to see if anyone would come and ask for our dessert order, or if we’d even enjoyed our meal, but nothing 😓 really disappointing service and the food was not as good either, such a shame. We had to go to the counter to pay and mentioned the poor service, the young girl did apologise but didn’t seem genuine.

Recently been to the restaurant. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere. Ordered two 1/4 slices of pizza. One Margherita and one with bufala and prosciutto. The pizza dough resembles a sponge when served. The mozzarella was the worst ever tried, looked and tasted like plastic. The bufala at least was good. Pizza was tasteless and heavily overpriced (5.30 for Margherita, and 7.10 for a bufala). The pizza resembles the pizza spontini type from Milan (very badly resembled). If you go to Sicily trattoria, for 7£ you get REAL Italian pizza made from pure Italians, fair prices and amazing taste. Whoever says in these 5 star reviews that the pizza is amazing does not have an idea of what they are talking about. I hate leaving bad reviews, but sadly this is truthful, and as Italian I was not happy with the food overall. Hope this is helpful. As per owner’s response, if you look at other reviews down here there are other people suggesting donnellis (for example). Not doing publicity to anyone, just commenting on different pizza.
