A birthday lunch for a friend spoilt by the restaurant’s inability to understand a food allergy. There were 5 of us, four of us had our meals and were nearly finished before the fifth got her meal. She has an egg allergy and for everything she requested the waitress had to go to ask the chef if there was any egg or ingredient containing egg in the meal. It was very upsetting for us all especially her as it was her birthday treat. Any restaurant that doesn’t understand allergies shouldn’t be in business. We ate here for an early pre-theatre supper and enjoyed the dim sum. Also an unusually varied wine list for an Asian restaurant and good value (the Hartenberg Cabernet on the list at £30 odd would set you back another £20 in Hawksmoor).

The menu offers more than the typical High St Chinese restaurant but don’t be fooled. Quality is poor and over priced to boot. Tried it three times and ordered different dishes in hope but never again.

Great restaurant, had a lovely meal with the family. We were treated with kindness and politeness. Cost of dinner was reasonable. The only downside was that they ran out of fortune cookies…..so will have to go back again 😊.

My Wife and I visited the Restaurant for a latish Dinner. Restaurant was reasonably quiet and we ordered a few dishes including Half a Steamed Sea Bass with Plain Rice , Prawns with Asparagus , Singapore Noodles , Hot and Sour Soup and Broccoli with Oyster Sauce. We both had small glasses of Wine with the Meal. Very tasty , clean and well-presented Food with generally friendly service. However , I was somewhat surprised by the high cost of the Meal at the end of the evening. I did not challenge the Bill , as it was getting late ( an error on my part ) , but in retrospect , I feel that I was well over-charged for the items ordered. Clearly , a lesson to be learned here regarding the Bill. I recommend the Food , but I also recommend financial vigilance !!

@sanxiachinese in Bromley recently launched Dim Sum menu and I’m pleased to be invited to try the Dim Sum feast😋😋😋 Dim Sum feast included a range of dumplings and baos. Har Gow was delicate as crystal and the Char Siu bun was fluffy outside with juicy Char Siu filling. Delicious 🥰🥰🥰 While I lived in Hong Kong, I usually went to Yum Cha having dim sum with my family almost every Sunday. Everyone orders dim sums to share. Yum Cha is definitely an excellent idea for family and friends gathering.

Delivered wrong item. Interrogated us for 10 minutes on phone before sending the right item. They requested the wrong item initially delivered to be given back to driver. Very worrying that they ask for it back. Food was cold by time they delivered right item.

Very poor service- Their delivery driver failed to deliver- Out of pocket £50 for our meal. Management no help. Avoid. No refund, no apology!

Must have changed the supplier or chef. Ordered crispy chilli beef and it’s the worst I have ever had. Not crispy at all. Just chewy. Horrible and wouldn’t buy it again. It used to be very nice.

This is my new favourite Chinese restaurant in greater London. Every dish I have tried has been excellent. Even my non-chinese companion liked the dry fried intestines!

Review for Sunday lunchtime. Quiet inside. However takeaways appeared busy. Clean inside. The food is hot and excellent. Not salty as some can be. Highly recommended.

Lovely good quality food nice, bit on the pricey side though

Went here for the first time on a friend’s recommendation. The photo based menu wasn’t what I was expecting but the food we had was really good, bar one starter which was fine but a little over fried. The French Bean, Aubergine and Dan Dan noodles were all superb. Don’t be put off by the “adventurous” dishes.

This is a great opportunity to sample excellent Sichuan cooking for those who are looking for sometthing a bit more adventurous than sweet and sour pork balls and lemon chicken. You won't find Chinese cooking of this quality in many places outside central London. Tried the hot pot and the spicy squid which really hit the spot.

I went with a group of friends after seeing a film at Picturehouse. It is very convenient and looks to have clean and airy premises. However we seemed to have done difficulty in relaying what was really quite a simple order and ultimately, despite several attempts to clarify the order an incorrect dish appeared. The food we got was enjoyable and they serve Tsing Tao beer which I like. Finally they added a rather odd and arbitrary looking 11.1% for service charge and the service was not that cheery

We booked a table and were really looking forward to our visit after some of the reviews on here and a recommendation from a friend. Having waited over 30 mins from being seated we asked if we could order at least some drinks... so we orders a bottle of wine. we finally ordered our food. Starters arrived (which were very good), but still no wine, so we asked again and it eventually arrived. 2nd course was a 1/4 duck which was again very good. The main courses were awful! I had the 'Sizzling plate' of scallops, prawns and squid.... there was absolutely nothing sizzling about the luke warm tasteless rubbery offering that I was presented with, in fact the only edible part was the prawns. My husband had the sweet & sour chicken which literally tasted like a microwave dinner. When the bill came it was over £150! when I checked they had charged us for a 2nd bottle of wine, I also asked for the fish main to be taken off the bill as it was inedible (and still sitting on the table!) and also the service to be removed. the second attempt at the bill still had the fish course and a 'reduced' service charge on. We eventually managed to get the bill sorted, but it was still over £100 for two to eat in what can only be described as the worst Chinese restaurant I have ever eaten in.

Our family met up with another family who has picked this local restaurant (to them) for dinner. It turned out to be a wonderful experience as the food was amazing and service was warm despite quite a busy evening. Highly recommended.

Food is not fresh, the spicy pork blood curd is like a mixture of hotpot leftovers that I even found prawns inside, which shouldn’t be the ingredient of this dish. The three roast is dry.

As if the extensive a la carte and the lunchtime specials (2 courses on two sides of an additional menu) weren’t enough there’s even a set menu as well as Szechuan barbecue specials. It was good to mix and match. I chose hot and sour soup from the main menu as a starter. It was a very generous bowl featuring chicken as well as shrimps. Duck rice from the lunch menu was exactly as expected with a mound of fluffy white rice with crispy slices of duck. A pint of lager shandy proved an entirely appropriate and refreshing accompaniment.

Absolutely amazing! I love Sichuan food so was really looking forward to this and did not disappoint. We ordered take away and the sizes were fantastic, could not finish it all, will make a great base for left over fried rice tomorrow morning :’D (to be fair we did order four mains between two) . Service wise fine except hard to get someone to answer the phone when there is a delivery issue. Food was 45 mins late unfortunately. 2 hours after it was ordered. That is only let down. Food is fabulous though.

The food was very disappointing and tasteless. I suspect they forgot to add salt or something. My crab soup was just warm water with pieces of crab stick and egg floating it, I had to throw it away. The blackbean chicken wasn't far behind in taste. Definitely not worth the money

The food was average however very cold due to how late it was. I am not happy with the chicken dish I received called ‘ Kung pao ‘ it was completely covered in chillis and was not edible to how spicy it was. I’m really not happy!

First, I will say thank you to delivering food in second locked down. But,SERVICE is terrible Ok this is not my first time to order this restaurant. We have eaten here a couple of times and the service has never been great. The food has been good although, as they have a London restaurant as well and a single menu, the prices are set at a central London level. The last time we went the service was awful and it took a really long time for anyone to serve us and even longer for us to get our food. The staff didn't seem to be paying any particular attention to their customers and we ended up leaving after eating a couple of dishes we ordered as starters. The staff didn't seem overly concerned and we received a minimal apology for the poor experience. We won't be going here again and would suggest that anyone that does go here be prepared for the possibility of a 'couldn't care less' approach to customers. I'd give zero stars for service.

Absolutely fantastic food - stick to the authentic part of the menu and you won't be disappointed, but you have to be prepared to be bold; if you're just going in for Sweet and Sour Pork or Chicken Fried Rice, you're wasting an opportunity to taste real, authentic Szechuan cuisine. This is, quite simply, the best Chinese food I have ever tasted (and I'm not related to the staff, or a friend - honest).

Highly recommended the Dan Dan Noodles and BBQ pork. Expensive, but definitely get the quality for the price.

Fantastic food, about as close as you will get round here to authentic Sichuan. Only slight gripe is the price which makes it a rare treat rather than our go to for Chinese.

Found myself in Bromley and luckily spotted this place on the way from the station to the hotel. Didn’t appear on the TripAdvisor search! Nice to see so many individual, speciality dishes offering something different from the usual high street fayre. Lovely staff and an impromptu Chinese lesson between courses. Would recommend both food and lesson. Thank you.

This is one of Bromley’s best kept restaurant secrets. If wish I had discovered there was authentic Sichuan cuisine here much sooner. The menu is extensive offering items you’d see in China (having visited Sichuan a few times) as well as the traditional UK-adapted Chinese favourites. This menu may be a little overwhelming for some and may explain some of the negative reviews. To me this authentic variety is a positive and strength because it’s not the same old thing. The staff is friendly and will make suggestions and take the time to explain. Each time I eat there, I try something new. The hot pot is truly a special and enjoyable experience! All offerings here are fresh and generous. Looking forward to my next visit.

Fast and friendly service. Delicious food! Well priced and something for everyone! They were very happy to accommodate different tastes in terms of how spicy we liked food. They told us about the food and the chef which was a nice touch. Wonton soup was to die for and the crispy chili beef was the best I've ever had. All the food tasted fresh and was piping hot.

Visited the restaurant for lunch, with friends, on a Saturday. Had previously visited the restaurant some years ago but was informed it is now under different management. Had the set menu which was great value. The food was hot and delicious. The service was friendly and efficient. Will visit again and friends will be ordering a take away in the future.

This is a truly exceptional find; you'd be impressed to find this quality of Szechuan food in Chinatown, never mind Bromley! Very tasty, unusual dishes served in a friendly atmosphere. We tried the La Zi Ji:

I normally don't bother with restaurants in Bromley as they are either boring chains or extremely mediocre at best! However, my partner (who's a chef) was keen to try this place on the basis of the Jay Rayner review in the Observer.

My boyfriend and I visited this restaurant today. Inside was warm, there was a nice atmosphere and staff (2 ladies) were very friendly. But unfortunately food was not good at all.

Have not had a Chinese for ages. Walked past Sanzia Renjia a few times and it looked quite nice.

Great food ,way better than anticipated, although I read the Jay Rayner review in the Guardian which said it was first class. I visited China many times and have had some amazing food but nothing trust food in the UK , will be back , try the house specialities, Maos pork brilliant as was the pancakes , if you want something more traditional.

We booked a table here after reading Jay Rayner's rave review of the Deptford branch in The Guardian, and then having a superb dinner in the Goodge Street branch. After that we had to try out the third branch, on our doorstep! We are big fans of Sichuan food in particular, and have both been to China many times. We didn't order a huge amount on this occasion (although portions were so big we still took our leftovers home), but the Boiled Beef in Chilli Oil Soup and Tasty Black Fungus Salad were especially good, and the manageress was charming and solicitous. We ate early as we were going to the cinema but I was still very surprised it wasn't much busier. Very good food, and a welcoming atmosphere. We will be back.

I am BEYOND gutted. We had finally found the best chinese in this place and all of a sudden they changed their chef and when we placed the same order we've been getting for a while now it came totally different! It is now awful and they have lost some very loyal customers.

asked for the chicken satay to not come in the peanut sauce and it did. wasn't happy. as my niece isn't allowed peas. won't be ordering again from here

Con el presupuesto que teníamos en mente, nos esperaba un buffet sencillo, pero Li y James se aseguró de que tenía una maravillosa y memorable buffet. Nos invitaron para 3 sesiones de cata de sus mejores platos, recomendado, y ayudó a establecer un menú que nuestros huéspedes les encantará. Y con éxito! Ambos nos y nuestros clientes realmente disfrutamos de la comida, y todavía estamos disfrutando algunas sobras, almacenado en el llevar cajas que me brindaron. The food I received today was frankly disgusting!!!! The chicken was dry and hard the special fried rice was soggy and the meat was chewy. It was very disappointing and not worth the money spent.
