Sanuk Thai Restaurant in Epping Forest

First time at Sunak Thai and the food was absolutely delicious me and mum both enjoyed all the staff were very friendly especially one waiter who was serving us didn’t catch his name very chatty welcoming and friendly defo be visiting again Thankyou

My husband and I went for Sunday lunch yesterday by chance and we were not disappointed . The food was great and such a great price......the staff were polite, friendly and helpful and the atmosphere of the restaurant really nice. We will definitely be going back.....try this restaurant you will not be disappointed.

I think the title 'Can't wait to go back' says it all and makes the rest of the review redundant? It is proof that advertising works as I was not aware of the restaurant and just happened to drive past a sign on the A414 promoting it's Sunday Buffet. It is not your standard buffet where food is cooked en mass but where you just order off the menu as much as you want and pay a fixed price. What is nice is that unlike some places with key dishes missing off the 'buffet menu' the 'Signature Dishes' are all still there but with a supplement so you have the option of choosing. The all inclusive menu is however very comprehensive. In my opinion the drinks prices were also reasonable too. The surroundings were great and in keeping with a good quality restaurant, and the service was faultless. We really appreciated the waiter explaining some of the dishes and the fact that a plain rice would be better rather than flavoured so as not to detract from the main dish. The size of the starters was a little bit smaller than normal which was a real benefit as we each chose two and that way go a real mixture. The main course was plentiful and the quality of all the food we received was excellent. A massive thank you for a great evening and can't wait to go back. The Thai dish 'Weeping Tiger' has a £5 supplement - worth every single bit of the extra charge to me.

We booked a table for 4 on a Saturday evening for 7 p.m. After giving us the dessert menu they proceeded to tell us that no desserts were available. We then asked for liqueur coffees. The manager came up and asked us to vacate the table as others were waiting at 8.30 p.m. we have used this restaurant a number of times. I tried to complain and the Manager just ignored us. One of the staff offered us 20% discount on our next visit. I don’t think so

We have ordered quite a few takeaways from here and still can't 100% decide on it. The food is tasty but I can't but feel some of the dishes have an Indian takeaway taste/style about them. A lot of the dishes come up spicy even when we request no spice which is frustrating.

The food is amazing its our new favourite takeaway ordered a few times. Also we love eating in house here too, the staff are so nice.

we went to Sanuk Thai today. we thoroughly enjoy the lovely food. the restaurant is in the quiet Ongar area, feel very much close to the nature. inside environment is cozy and warm, friendly and welcoming staffs are always ready to help. hope to visit again in near future.

Rude staff after I had asked if I could wait inside and purchase a drink whilst waiting for my Mrs to pick me up and was refused restaurant had one table seated the rest empty, I was unfortunate to have a car crash into the side of me on Mill lane on Friday (4th) evening about 6:20pm my car tyre had a hole in and was deflated so was undrivable my plan was to get it recovered in the morning and wait inside in the warm as I was a bit shook up from the accident my Mrs was only coming from 15mins away but they refused me a drink I was willing to pay for as me or my Mrs hasn’t ordered food with them I explained I’d just had a an accident and still he refused as he stated licensing rules doesn’t allow them to serve anyone drinks unless they have placed an order with them I was shocked we’ve only just moved locally and have been planning on checking the restaurant out as the Mrs loves Thai food we said we would try the buffet one Sunday certainly won’t be giving this restaurant a single penny absolutely fuming I was made to wait outside till my Mrs arrived to pick me up shocked is an under statement I will never ever step foot inside here again

Located opposite the commonwealth burial grounds. Which is simply stunning on an especially sunny summer day. Sanuk Thai restaurant. First of all as you enter through the 18th century doorway. You are immediately reminded of Britain in the 1800s, exposed oak wood joists, low ceilings and friendly staff to hand.the food is excellent and the parking is perfect for easy access. As you enter you are wafted with warm air from the interior heating which is lovely in these, ice cold months. All of the staff were very friendly and informed. Very good suggestions on the food and drink of which there are many choices. The seating is perfect with enough space to feel comfortable but not secluded. The food was served piping hot and the drinks ice cold. I would recommend the pad Thai with duck. Once again such lovely staff. Especially shovua. He is a lovely lovely man. Thank you shaik for keeping the restaurant tip top. And thank you to delivery driver Charlie for Bringing us the sensational Thai meals when we can visit in house. 5/5

on monday, i visited this lovely, tucked away restaurant in the heart of high ongar, surrounded by picturesque scenery, so good you could paint a picture in your mind, and heart forever the food in sanuk is beautiful, the pad thai with duck summoned me with some chunky vegetables that sprawled themselves across the noodles, the tempura shrimps were delightful and succulent to wash it down with a lovely tiger beer to complete my stay i'd like to thank all of the attentive staff and handsome delivery drivers that opened the door on my entrance and exit

The food is great quality and authentic. The staff are very friendly and the ambience is really comfortable. We have ordered takeaways many times, the service is prompt and quality is always consistent. Great food!!

Have now visited this restaurant twice, and each time the food and service were excellent. The second time we took three other couples and I was happy to pay the bill. All complimented the food while eating and that was before they knew I was paying. Will certainly return there and trust that they keep the same level of tasty food and good service, at what we consider a reasonable cost.

Tried here for first time, nice restaurant,good food, wonderful waitress. BUT,this is summer and although plates were hot when they were bought to us the food did get cold fairly quick. I imagine in winter it would be much worse. They do need heaters on table to keep food warm like most Indian restaurants do.Would have been able to eat more had it not got cold.The waitress couldn't do anymore to be helpful 5*. I think also the menu needs to be larger.Prices are very reasonable.

Ordered from here for a second time as our first experience was good; piping hot great Thai food. However, our second experience couldn’t be more different. JustEat estimated 35-50min delivery time. We phoned Sanuk an hour and a half later and, after our calls were sent to voicemail several times, finally managed to speak to someone, who said it had been delivered to us half an hour earlier. Upon our insistence that it hadn’t, they then said that, oh no, it had only left 10 minutes ago; no apology, bit rude. Now over 2 hours after we ordered, it still hasn’t materialised and I’m about to eat my own arm then go to bed. Having read the other reviews, am not holding out much hope of getting our 50 quid back. An absolute shambles; won’t be using them again.
