Santosa Yoga & Meditation in Edinburgh, City of

Love this place and its chilled vibe, sofas and big windows.. I usually get soup or home made curry that the cafes staff member Shehana makes. Today I had delicious spicy peanut and red pepper soup today with coconut milk, ginger and other tasty stuff, made by soup dragon Fran. Definitely has a kick. I love seeing what she'll make next! Its also a yoga and therapies centre, so you see very chilled folk coming out from downstairs...

As a local supporter, have been to this place regularly. A longtime buddhist (ex monk) myself and a small dog owner, I went there for coffee/cake. Dog is indoor trained yet the owner scolded I pick up something. Instantly checked; What may have looked like a poo was actually a leaf! Feigned apology. I didn't even finish my coffee,, and paid, left. Owner has the worst attitude for a place like this, staff are better. Typical scottish attitude. Launch an unproven verbal first, check after. Shame she doesn't read those books they have everywhere..... The buddha taught 2 simple concepts: Everything that appears to mind is not always what it is. We base our life of projections. Shame. This place needs better energy. Never again.

The food here is absolutely delicious - veggie and vegan - homemade and very fresh. I had what I thought would be quite a light salad and couldn’t finish it! Then a hot meal another day that was scrumptious. Cakes wonderful too and proper fresh teas. The food is all made for you so don’t go if you’re in a hurry.

Discovered this real gem of a cafe on a breakfast stopover. Real friendly welcome; tasty breakfast (recommend the hummus) and great coffee. Relaxed atmosphere..... combines open space, colour, chilled music and great aromas. A sensory treat. Staff extremely helpful. A definite return visit next time in Edinburgh!

Zufällig hat uns das Universum hier vorbei schlendern lassen. Ein Vgetarisch/Veganes Cafe mit Laden und Behandlungsmöglichkeiten der besonderen Art. Wir sind innerhalb eines Tages 2x lächelnd empfangen worden, da die Rohkosttorten (Mokkaschnitte, Avocadoschnitte) uns wieder hergelockt haben. Ebenso die super gschmackigen frisch gepressten Säfte. Also wenn du in Edinburgh bist, besuche unbedingt diesen wunderbaren Ort.

Santosa is the home of a wonderful Yoga Studio, a beautiful shop, and lovely Cafe'. A very welcoming and warm place where you can feel at home, relax and recharge your batteries! Supporting many community projects through the years Santosa is also a very important point for the local community. Whether you are just visiting Edinburgh or are living in the city make sure to visit this magical place :)

Great place to relax have a coffee!!! We spent a rainy afternoon there with playing games.Coffee was great. Relaxing música. Very luminous.

We came for breakfast after a heavy night on the whisky and it was the perfect antidote to our foggy heads. Fresh salads and a lovely halloumi wrap, relaxed music and friendly staff. Thanks Santosa!

What a lovely little find during my lunch break in Edinburgh. If you love yoga and it’s philosophy , believe in ethically sorced goods and want to buy something that’s good for the planet - they have it all. To top it all off there is a lovely vegan/veggie cafè with the best looking cakes I’ve seen for a while. Everything I had been searching for online for months they had (and more). Bought myself a meditation cushion, Mala braclet and a lemongrass and ginger Manduka yoga mat spray. Those working there were friendly and relaxed and very welcoming, full of information about there products. I will be making a trip back from Glasgow for some more goodies and a Tibetan singing bowl soon. I can’t recommend this little gem enough. You would be mad not to give it a visit, the cafè alone, would be a vegans delight - make time to stop for cake and a cuppa.

Santosa is a wonderful place to relax wether that be to enjoy a fresh beverage, do yoga, meditation, or for an excellent massage with Claire. Their cafe offers great vegan options and an assortment of delicious cakes. If you are looking for esoteric finds for gifts or something nice for yourself the upstairs shop is an absolute treasure trove!

Siamo andate a pranzare in questo locale, il pranzo era ottimo e preparato con cura, buoni gli ingredienti. Particolare l’arredamento e gli oggetti in vendita, molto pulito anche il bagno. Era il nostro ultimo giorno di vacanza e avevamo dietro le valigie, lo staff è stato molto cordiale e si è offerto di tenercele per il pomeriggio, così abbiamo potuto fare un ultimo giro per Edimburgo e passare a riprenderle prima dell’aereo! Sicuramente se dovessimo tornare a Edimburgo ci ritorneremmo volentieri!

I was here for a coffee and was very impressed by the vegan options they had all sorts of cakes, this is a nice place to de stress as it has a very positive atmosphere. They have a shop as well were you can buy different oils incense sticks and other things like that will definitely be going back to have a better look, there were various classes that are run from here they do have a website that is worth looking at, would highly recommend this place.

Mellow relaxed atmosphere, great place to go for yoga, a cuppa and bite to eat. Especially on a cold winters day you wont want to leave.

Nice atmosphere & very nice smoothie, not in your face. The staff seem pleasant enough, I am willing to give it another go. Maybe even sign up for a yoga class. Would recommend to friends and family

Lovely, peaceful place that I had missed on my walks around Leith, its just off Leith Walk. Large tables, bright windows, lots of ethnic crafts and jewellery, also they have rooms to hire and classes downstairs. No pressure or rush, just a peaceful place. Lovely healthy food, including new vegan feta which I loved, and I eat meat! Wide range of dips, salads, etc. Really friendly staff. I will be back!

My favourite place in Edinburgh. I regularly travel 30 miles for the peace and tranquillity that pours out of Santosa. I go weekly for my Shiatsu massage and have seen the hypnotist and I'm having a swedish massage with a cancer massage expert next week. That's what I love about the place, it's got something for everyone, yoga, meditation, herbalist, therapist, massage and so much more.

This is a great hidden gem. The shop has lots of beautiful statues, pictures, jewellery, clothes, meditation and yoga accessories from various eastern traditions. I bought some mala beads which are much higher quality than I've seen elsewhere and I've previously bought some of the clothes and jewelery from here which were also high quality. Very peaceful atmosphere and welcoming friendly staff. Great place to sit for a quiet drink and food either with friends or by yourself for if you want to relax and have a read (they have a library of great spiritual books- one of which I got so into that I ordered it as soon as I got home). They also put on yoga and meditation classes and run various events. Please support this shop as there needs to be more places like this in the world.

Really great menu for vegetarian/vegan/clean-eating types. The hot smoothie was inspired. Everything made with care, with some interesting vegan cakes, health bars and other tempters for the road. The avocado and dark chocolate raw cake is well worth a shot. Slight niggle that the door doesn't close, and the surroundings in general aren't as relaxing as they might be, ringed with the usual cod-Tibetan trinkets being sold - but great value overall.
