Sanjeevs in Stoke-on-Trent

WE went last night as it was my birthday as i am Disabled my wife went to the bar and ordered my drink and her drink we sat down everyone was waiting for their drinks it took over 1 hour for the waiter to take everyone else drink order then it took a further 45 mins before he took everyone's food order it was a nice meal but took to long only 6 of us went and it was has half full this had been pr booked

Booked table, restaurant was only half full yet we were waiting for drinks. Food was tasteless.. onion bahjis were undercooked balls of tasteless flour batter. Main course was tasteless plates were cold. Our bill was wrong they charged for large plates when we ordered small. Just dissappointing from start to finish wont recommended or go again.

A meal for four, very reasonably priced with a very good menu, a little different from the run of the mill Indian restaurant with some very tempting dishes, the food was excellent and will have to visit a few more times to appreciate the full range, the atmosphere was good with the staff being helpful and friendly, the service was good without being rushed and we were made to feel very welcome.

Good food and service, pleasant atmosphere, easy parking and fair prices. Have used a few times including Christmas Eve all were good.

Visited a few days ago for the first time. Booked online but had no acknowledgment or confirmation. It was early in the evening and very quiet but more diners arrived as the evening progressed. Food choice was excellent and we tried Indian food we had not had before. Everything was cooked to perfection. Service was ok perhaps a little slow. For three courses each and four drinks I thought approx £56 was a little steep. Given the quality of the food and the ambiance I would definitely return for a special occasion.

We attended here as a family of three and had a lovely welcome. We were seated and served promptly. The menu was lovely with various house specials. I had trio of chicken which was to die for. The food presentation was excellent with the poppadoms and nan breads in nice presentation baskets.

Read alot of good reviews, so we decided give it a try. Seated quickly and drinks brought to table. Plenty of time to look over the great menu. Then the food, wow excellent. So tasty and not over faced. Good service. We shall return.

The restaurant got good atmosphere, clean and crisp settings. Good food as in India and excellent hospitality.

If you think you are going to a curry house, do not visit Sanjeev’s. It is not a curry house but ofcourse an authentic Indian Restaurant.

Went with a few friends to celebrate my wife's birthday last Wednesday night . Had an enjoyable time with very good food. The staff were welcoming and cordial. The decor is good and overall a successful evening out. We all left fully satisfied and appreciative.

Now I am truly not a big fan of curry usually or anything too spicy, I would even go as far to say that Indian cuisine is my least favourite.  But Sanjeevs in Baddeley Green has quite possibly changed my opinion!! I have been about six times and every meal has been delicious and cooked exactly  to my requirements.

Went on spec for tea. Arrived early yet were seated immediately. Food very nice. Can be described as Indian with a twist. Poppadoms were in a edible shaped basket. All courses were very nice. Chefs specials were indeed special. Husband had taster meal and loved every bit of it. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Absolutely loved the meal we had here. We regularly eat “Indian” food and aren’t often surprised but here we were bowled over by the clever use of spices, so that even eating the hot dishes we were still able to discern the individual flavours.

I expected a modern curry restaurant but this place was just bland. Overly lit and with no character unless you like green tablecloths there was no intimacy and whilst the staff were pleasant there was no concept of service or a welcome. Diners were sat with nothing apart from the noise from other diners who were too close like a crowded coral reef under football floodlights. When the food arrived it was decent but whatever it was was not curry. One dish left a swimming pool of water on the plate with no plausible explanation of origin. It was like eating in a cross between Gogglebox and You've Been Framed. We won't be back.

First visit to this establishment. Booked for 6pm and thought we would be the only dinners, yes we were the first in but the restaurant soon filled up and was packed by the time we left. Gin and tonic and a pint of Mongoose were ordered and delivered in a matter of minutes. We ordered the scallops and the grill for one to start, both were lovely. Wine was a red for around £14 which was very nice. Mains were a lamb dish and the trio, along with veg rice, plain and chili and garlic nan, again very enjoyable. We finished off with a brandy and a whiskey coffee. Thoroughly enjoyable meal, good service, reasonable prices, yes we will return and recommend.

food is OK , but portions are woeful.had supper when we got back home! Will not be returning any time soon.

Decided to go for meal with some friends, we usually go into Leek as it s local but we decided to go to Sanjeevs in Stockton Brook/Endon as we’d heard good reviews! WOW!!!!!! We thought Thornbury Hall was amazing and Spice Exchange but this place blows them both out of the water!! The decor is bright and welcoming, the tables crisp and clean, the staff friendly and knowledgeable and the food absolutely top notch!! The menu is full of dishes never seen before , not the usual Korma/Vindaloo etc etc.......Beetroot for starter and Walnut Chicken for main, Rosemary Nan .......... tasty, filling, hot, DELISH!! Get yourself to Sanjeevs ......... you won’t be disappointed

Visiting our friends we were booked into this restaurant. 8 of us and I must be honest I was impressed by the service and quality of the food.

We have visited twice in the last month - Tuesday & Wednesday - with the Street Food and Tasting menus chosen as a special. Both were excellent although the Street Food just edged it. A few dishes I had not tried and I was not disappointed. A very high standard of cuisine across the menu. Try it you wont be disappointed.

Food here is nice and modern. Good portion sizes, and plenty of flavour. Wide selection of drinks and lovely surroundings. Plenty of parking too.

A perfect blend of aroma, flavour, ambience and delight, is what I discovered at Sanjeev's restaurant! The beautifully crafted exquisite lay of food entices you completely and easily tittilates your taste buds! My non- vegetarian friends totally relished fisherman's prawns and walnut chicken,and all of them vouch for the delicious food. As for me, I felt perfectly satiated with the well seasoned vegetarian exotics; beetroot tikki, mushroom taka tak and kadhai paneer. Last but not the least, I also distinctly felt the demeanour of the staff amicable and the service prompt! All in all, it was an enjoyable and memorable evening! And, of course, the taste of the well prepared and gratifying food lingers on in your mouth for a long time! If a unique and one of it's kind rendezvous with food is what you crave for, then, undoubtedly this is the place for you! I strongly and happily recommend the Sanjeev's restaurant!!!

We ordered a take away and for the price I didn't think the food was up to par. I asked for a chicken tikka jalfrazi and got just chicken jalfrazi. Onion bhaji had a really over powering spice that I didn't enjoy. Good amount of food but very expensive for a take away and the quality wasn't there

Great New Menu. Upon arrival greeted with a lovely smile, they were already expecting us which was nice, drinks ordered arrived promptly, the new dishes on the menu It was difficult to chose there were many I wanted to try. Plates were very hot as was the food, exceptional flavours with food cooked to perfection. We are going again.

We visited Sanjeevs to celebrate our 42nd wedding anniversary without realising that on Tuesday evenings they offer a Thali meal which is a taster meal consisting of lots of small dishes to try plus an onion bhajji starter naan bread and Indian rice pudding ! The whole experience was excellent with great food and friendly but professional service . We will be back ...

Visited Sanjeev's last week. The food was the best I have tried in Stoke on Trent. Everything was cooked to perfection and very delicious. Would definitely be visiting again.

Visited this place on my daughters Graduation, as it was highly recommend by my friends. The food is outstanding along with the service we were given. This is not your ordinary curry house. If you only knew what Indian food is.

Made a booking at last moment and thankfully I was given a table for two people, me and my partner.The moment we enter we were greeted by waitress and we were taken to our table. We were looked after very well. We took advise from the serving staff as they have a new menu. I ordered scallops and my partner ordered Basil Chicken Tikka... only one word. AMAZING.For mains we had Walnut chicken and Railway Lamb with mushroom rice and rosemary Nan.. great.I suggest to finish your meal with Chocolate Samosa with home made coffee ice cream and Grilled pineapple.This is the finest restaurant we have ever been.Highly recommend. I ended up booking a cookery lesson for my husband.

Visited on a Tuesday night and had the special 'Tuesday night thali'. Contained a chicken, lamb, prawn and vegetable curry, chicken starter, rice, naan bread, poppadom and dessert, the food was presented beautifully and tasted even better!Highly recommend!

The standard of the food was very high and following a recommendation for one one the meals, this did not disappoint! The food came in good time and was ok. The naan breads are quite large. Overall it is just what you would expect from an Indian resturant.

went to Sanjeev's last week with our son. Did not book but was welcomed as it was a friday night. Surroundings were lovely, the staff were very attentive and the service was excellent.

We visit Sanjeevs many times each year and the food is always excellent. This is no ordinary Indian restaurant; I believe that this is the First Indian Restaurant based on Ayurvedic Concepts - Indian Herbal Science. Sanjeevs expertly created dishes with ancient herbs and spices designed to release stress and anxiety. Sanjeev also has a cookery school on site which I intend to visit soon. Sanjeev and his team of excellent and knowledgeable waiting staff are there to make sure everyone has a wonderful dining experience.

Really good Indian restaurant. Spotlessly clean, tidy and beautifully decorated. Food reasonably priced. We had poppadoms and chutneys for 2 . Two rice, two curries, one peshwari naan, two desserts and two and a half pints of lager for £42. Food was one of the best Indian meals we've ever had. Generous portions, tasty and hot .Decent lager on draught. Polite attentive staff serving. Happy to answer any questions regarding the menu. Large car park at the front. Small criticism. Disabled toilet door lock didn't seem to work properly nor the light in the same, otherwise can't fault anything.

Very pleasent staff. The starters are out of this world! Best we have ever had! . All the currys we had were nice but unfortunately I have had nicer (sorry) not that it would stop us from coming back here because we definitely would! Nan breads and rices were also great. Only one slight little niggle is that you don't get hardly any mint sauce with your starter and we had to keep asking for more and still came in the smallest little pot! Drinks I thought were slightly over expensive. Other than that great food great staff would definitely return :)

We booked for a family birthday meal and were all very impressed with the quality of this restaurant. The food is superb with plenty of choice and vegetarian options. I chose the Korma and the staff were very happy to change dish from chicken to king prawn for me and it was the best Korma ever. We were all delighted with our meals and the deserts are amazing, the poached pear and kulfi with pistachios is divine!The quality of the food and the helpfulness of the staff in very comfortable surroundings make this a top favourite restaurant in my family ....... we will definitely visit again ...... hopefully soon!

Our 3rd visit as a family and our 3rd brilliant meal. If you're looking for something different than the normal 'different meat same sauce' you need to try this place.Lots of parking and a nice interior all enhanced by the lovely and polite staff.Price is very reasonable at approx £7.95 for a main and £3.00 for one of the various rices. Would definitely recommend Sanjeevs to anyone who wants good food, presented attractively and good value for money.

Have been to this place twice now and it is gorgeous. The food is prepared to a very high standard, is presented beautifullly, tastes fantastic and is just fine dining indian food. The staff are very attentive, the restaurant is immaculate and well worth every reasonable penny. They even do puddings, not just the usual ice cream and nothing else.

This has been a long time favourite place of my partner and his family, and since moving to the area it has become one of mine.I'm yet to order something and it not blow me away. We've visited on quieter Sunday nights and packed Friday/Saturday nights and the kitchen always sends out top notch food.The service is friendly and efficient, the menu is great and the atmosphere is always enjoyable regardless of how busy the place is.Go, go now!

We have had several meals at Sanjeevs - usually on the back of a business trip to the Stoke area. We have never been disappointed by the service or food, although things can slow down a little when things get busy - indicative of most restaurants, but never a cause to spoil the occasion.Not had reason to either return a meal or complain. Always met or exceeded expectations. Thanks again.....

I was in the party on the evening that the "Food" reviewer (see below) was eating and can concur with her review.The Bombay Aloo side dish definitely contained meat, most likely lamb, there is no doubt about that.We did not complain during the meal as we did not wish to spoil the evening for our party or the other diners.The matter was discussed privately with the proprietor at the end of the meal and were met with total indifference - the princely sum of £3.50 was deducted from our bill.The management's response was appalling, to call someone a liar in print is somewhat demeaning to say the least. Grow up, admit your mistake and move on. You've dismayed several customers who won't darken your doorstep again.Sad, this situation could have been simply resolved.

We've been a couple of times and I've never really been a fan but the OH and our friends liked it. The last trip I found the chicken madras to be bland and lacking heat. This time I was hoping to get a healthier option of Tandoori Chicken or Shashlik sadly neither were on the menu as a main course. I once again opted for a Madras with mushroom rice and once again it was bland and lacking heat. The mushroom rice wasn't great and the Nan breads really small. This time my friends didn't enjoy there food either. At the end of the night we got the bill and an extra pint of lager had been added on it. (We know this as our friends arrived first and were a drink ahead). By this point we paid up, didn't leave a tip and went home all in agreement that we wouldn't return anytime soon.

A very good meal with plenty of flavour, staff were welcoming and professional. First time I've eaten from the new Street food menu - we will of course be returning customers.

The food when it arrived was excellent but very poor service. There were only 2 waiting on staff and it was a very busy night.Our table was booked for 8.30pm, sat at a table at 8.55pm but no food till 10pm. Also had to ask for someone to take our order after 20 mins at the table.Very tasty food and good ambience but let down by the very long wait.

Sanjeev's is one of the best indian restaurant in stoke on trent. Food was very tasty and fresh. Staffs were very friendly. We really enjoyed and would like to recommend to anyone who is looking to dine in an Indian restaurant.

Rang up as I was passing to pick up a takeaway, and I really thought it was a different class.The only curry that has come close to beating this in the area was Mr Maliks, until he had his Kevin Keegan moment.Refreshing taste and not like your usual Indian!

Don't eat here if ur a vegetarian. I found pieces of lamb in my vegetarian side dish off the vegetarian section in the menu. Wen I confronted the lady and said there was meat in my food she said "oh, don't u eat any meat?" Like that's an acceptable response.

This restaurant opens at 17:30, which was about when the lights went on, so that was different. Inside, any initial doubts were soon forgotten as the friendly staff welcomed us in. The service was very good, the food excellent. Possibly one of the best Indian meals I've ever eaten. From memory, I think the music was not what I'd expected. Most Indian restaurants tend to play Indian music, but Sanjeevs played a variety. Whatever it was, it was acceptable. The overall atmosphere was pleasant enough. Our party had arrived early evening time, and it was starting to fill up fast when we left, which would no doubt have added to the atmosphere. It was a great place for a family get-together and, having already flagged up the positives, I can say that there were no negatives.

We went for a family meal at a weekend. The staff were very polite and helpful. Nice bright surroundings and well laid out. The menu is ok but not that much choice. My starter was ok and I had the duck for my main which said it was medium. But it was so hot I couldn't eat it and to top it off the duck was a bit chewy and dry. It spoilt my night and won't go again. Overall the the food is only average and the drinks a bit pricey

Went with friends and had a lovely meal myself. I had a Great curry but wasn't to my taste. We think that if you want a standard curry, this isn't the place for you. However if you want a real taste of Indian cuisine, the specials will take you there. Lovely folk and great service. Go for a special and don't be a boring Bhuna!

Recently went with friends and family and had the best night we have ever had eating out. Outstanding food that everyone said was delicious. The service was also outstanding, and the staff couldn't have been more friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. If you have not been here before I urge you to go, you will not be disappointed!!

We are lucky to have some excellent ethnic restaurants in and around Stoke and this is certainly one of the best and its very local to me so I can confirm that its is consistently good.The surroundings are excellent, the building is grand and oppulent (1930's art deco feel) which creates a good atmosphere on arrival and promises more good things to come. Service is attentive but not fussy and the food is always fresh and I think its a bit more authentic Indian than other Indian restaurants that you might choose. Menu choice is wide and chef Sanjeev is still in charge of things. He is a national mutli award winning chef and this quality continues to shine through. This is London quality restaurant food at Stoke on Trent prices. What more could you ask for.

I'm very fussy about Indian food so for me to rate this as the best Indian restaurant locally must mean something! Service is fast and waiters very attentive. Although the menu is not as extensive as some other Indian restaurants, the quality of the food, and it's authenticity shines through. Our third meal here and we weren't disappointed. I never usually leave bad reviews but after reading the good reviews at Sanjeevs, we were left dissappointed. As a Coeliac, I have to eat gluten free, so on booking a table, I double checked that all would be ok. In fairness there were plenty of gf options but due to cross contamination, any starters I couldn't eat. The gent explained that the fryers are so hot that it kills any gluten. This is not the case and its peoples lack of knowledge that can leave us Coeliacs ill for days. I ordered a biryani and a gluten free bread. The food was presented beautifully and tasted really average. My bread arrived swimming in grease after been put in the fryer (the fryer that cooks all items containing gluten). Therefore after telling me this would be safe, it wasn't. So I just ate a small bowl of biryani.I know I'm moaning but I was truly dissappointed. Hence the essay. The rest of my family ate all of their food and seemed to enjoy it. Its really rare that I eat out due to trusting places. Sanjeevs has made me lose faith in trusting places with my health.

What a great New Year's Eve we had at Sanjeevs , absolutely great food a nice. We choose the set menu lovely starters and great main course. Thanks to all the staff,Neil and Debbie.

As a family of 6 we have eaten here on many occasions, I can honestly say that the food is fantastic, full of flavour and taste. We booked in on Boxing Day evening for a meal and as usual we were not let down the service was great. We are never disappointed where dining out here. Also very reasonable price too.

Vegetarian night out for two. Absolutely brilliant with very wide choice of varying mains and side dishes.Good atmosphere, clean throughout and very friendly staff and principals. Very reasonably priced too.Can honestly say that this is the best curry I've had in Stoke by a long chalk.

We went as a big group. Service was a bit slow but thats expected when serving a big group and the food was all cooked fresh. The curry was the best i have ever tasted. Beautifully presented. Very reasonably priced.

We visited Sanjeev's on a Sunday evening to celebrate two birthdays in our extended family. Our group of 11 were treated as always to a delicious meal with friendly and attentive service. The couple of our party who'd not been before said they'd definitely be back. The food is so flavoursome - not just spicy, and there are some very spicy dishes! My partner doesn't like her food too spicy and she had plenty of choice on the menu too. Top evening, top food, top restaurant!

This is my third visit to Sanjeevs restaurant and is by far the best restaurant in the area. As soon as I entered the restaurant I could smell the fragrance of cinnamon and cloves in the air. The flavours are fresh with a great balance of herbs and spices. Each dish is well thought out and cooked to perfection. It makes such a refreshing change to actually have distinct and different flavours to each dish (unlike most restaurants/takeaways that use the same curry base, resulting in all the dishes tasting the same). Sanjeev follows the Ayurvedic principals in his cooking style that promote good health and well-being from the use of fresh spices and herbs. If your in the area, I fully recommend a visit. You won't be disappointed.

This is the best curry house in Stoke on Trent. It is top quality Indian food. Each dish is freshly prepared not from a base sauce. We have been here a few times and it is a special meal rather than nipping out for a curry. I have also tryed the training day where you can learn to cook some recipes yourself. It was a great day. If you are looking for a present with a difference this might be a good idea for a curry enthusiast. If you havnt tryed it here then give it a go. You will return

We booked a table for 6 for 8pm. We arrived on time to find the table was not quite ready. We were eventually seated around 8.30. However the wait was well worth it as the service after that was good and the food excellent. This is a great place to eat with plenty of choice as long as you like Indian cuisine. We eventually left just before midnight with full stomachs and slightly the worse for wear.

I have been here about 6 times now and it is always fabulous. The staff are friendly and the chef is excellent. The onion bhajis are just as they should be, crispy and delicious. The biryani is tasty and although I don't tend to go for desert my companions say the chocolate samosa is delicious.

My husband and I went last night 27th Sep for our anniversary, the staff were very pleasant, service was very good, the food was brilliant, very nicely decorated is side very homely, we had a lovely night. I would recommend Sanjeevs.
