I've just moved to the area, ordered a takeaway to pickup after work. Friendly welcome, food was hot, fresh and delicious, as was the free bottle of cobra. Highly recommend 👌

Never going to this 3rd rated Restaurant again, had taken my children out as it was the birthday occasion of my one child for a Indian meal .. We ordered for Tandoori chicken and Prawns biryani with butter nans ... The taste of Tandoori chicken was very Bad ..smelling and it was not cooked properly .The worst Tandoori chicken we ever had in our lives . Prawns Biryani and Nans were okay . Would never visit again .

Been going there for years but last night was dreadful. No more hot plates. Luke warm food. Chicken TM was like soup so much sauce. To cap it all there was mould on the chocolate. Any it was expensive. Never again.

Just had an amazing breakfast at sanderstead tandoori I had the traditional breakfast with masala beans it was 10/10 and staff are very friendly and welcoming

I’m here again and again to remind you guys what your missing out on, I just don’t understand half these reviews on here, the truth is, this place is perfect for friends, families and business meals, come and try it out because I always enjoy eating from here.

Came down with my son after his football match, he always loves coming here especially for his Madras and his cheesy naan, Ofcourse for me, I love my chicken tikka masala, the best in Croydon! Cheers lads!

I visited this restaurant with my partner on a Saturday evening and I must say that we were both very impressed with the food. Everything we had was full of flavour and tasted fresh. I highly recommend their chicken madras curry, very tasty and the heat level was spot on. Prices are very good, plus the staff were friendly and attentive. It can be difficult to find a good Indian restaurant these days as many serve quite bland food but that is definitely not a problem here. Beer was nice and cold too (I had a Cobra lager). Plenty to choose from on the menu so we will definitely be returning here again soon.

Absolutely love Sanderstead tandoori, me and my family have been dinning here for the past 2 years ! We have never been disappointed, and actually having tired other restaurants & takeaways, I can proudly say nothing beats Sanderstead Tandoori.

This is a bad restaurant there was a broken glass in my food. And also I saw a rat 🐀 running around. I brought that into staffs attention they denied it pathetic ! Price is too high where food is not great!

Had the banquet deal, loads of food and all good quality. Staff were lovely and friendly also. Definitely recommend!

While it's easy to place orders, 3 times we have had trouble with those orders, bits coming wrong or arriving one time an hour past when they expected it to be ready, and seems depending on the day how your food tastes, something really flavourful one day is bland, boring and tasteless the next time. I do not recommend ordering from them.

Very good value, extremely tasty food and friendly staff, came here for lunch today with my wife and kids and we all really enjoyed it.

Twice the server left us to deal with other people. Once whilst taking our order(perhaps that's why he got it wrong!!!) And then served 3 of our starters and, again, left us to deal with someone else so had to ask for the 4th starter..And we're expected to give a tip!!! Very slow service and bad customer attention.

Second time wasn’t so good as chicken halved in portion and the third time was just 3 pieces of chicken in sauce with the most onion I’ve ever seen in my lifetime!!! It’s a shame when a new customer comes in its great first time but after that they cut back on standards and quality of food.. that’s that for me

Been using Sanderstead tandoori for the last 8 years another fantastic meal our family enjoyed

I’m from the USA visiting London for the week and I had the chicken curry here and it was absolutely magnificent and I have never said that about any food before and this is my first time ever leaving a review. I met the owner and he was an amazing host I just can’t recommend this place enough!

We had a lovely family meal, 6 of us including our grandchildren, great location would highly recommend and certainly intend to return.

We had a fantastic time at this small friendly curry restaurant, service excellent and food delicious, lovely evening and meal with our granddaughters, daughter and son in law to be.

Where do I start? 1) The food itself is not authentic. The korma seems like it comes out of a bottle and a particularly low quality bottle as well. It’s both bland and lacks real spices… it’s just all food colouring. This is not Indian food. 2) The meat is CLEARLY cooked hours ago and allowed to dry out. The meat is chewy, dry, and tasteless. How hard is it to cook a piece of meat? 3) The naan bread is literally the worst I’ve ever had. They definitely don’t make it in house and the worst part is that they have keema on their menu and it’s not even keema. It’s a proper disgrace. I’m not sure how they can pass this off as Indian food and have good reviews. They wouldn’t survive in central London.

Decent restaurant with wide and varied menu

Lovely dinner this evening at Sanderstead Tandoori. Lots of choice on the menu, starters were brilliant, and everything was cooked to perfection. The final bill was also very reasonable - we'll definitely be back!

Nice meal in a quiet warm setting. Food was delicious, only given 4 stars because only been once. If food good again on return, will increase to 5.

Ordered veg food from this restaurant based on the rating provided by the guests however we found that delivered food was horrible and tasteless. We have to re-order food from other restaurant.

Wonderful ambience so well presented. Fantastic menu with so much choice. Vegetarian & pescitarian easily accommodated. Vegan options available with oil replacing ghee. Such welcoming friendly staff a real credit to the establishment. Masks worn and had sanitiser provided. Thank you all so much.

GLASS FOUND IN FOOD! I tried to be reasonable with this restaurant and after a conversation with the owner I felt that I was being taken seriously. The owner was supposed to bring round a refund personally as we paid cash. After chasing twice now I haven’t had any response and have had to resort to letting the public know the situation. I have loved the food from here for years but after finding glass in the food which resulted in me cutting my mouth and the restaurant not returning calls it’s left a really sour taste. The owner has tried to say they have no glass in the kitchen. Either way, it it their responsibility to take this matter very seriously.

Lovely, local Indian cuisine at a competitive price. Certainly will be one of our special diners!!

Great food and service Lovely atmosphere

Used to order from this restaurant regularly with no complaints... After having not ordered for a while I ordered today via just eat, the food was cold and meat portion was terrible, all sauce and barely 5 pieces of meat, quite disappointing but hopefully they will heed the feedback of their customers and sort it out!

Was feeling under the weather yesterday, the sort of head cold only spice can help with, so ordered from Sanderstead Tandoori ahead of the semi final. Not paying attention, my eyes zoned in on "spicy" and "kofte" which sounded good. Was gutted when something akin to a korma turned up - definitely not what the doctor ordered. Rang ST to confirm what I'd asked for and it was Kofte Kashmiri Lamb. "Kashmiri" being a bit of a clue. Fruity creamy and sweet has a place but it wasn't right then. I was astonished that ST then thanked ME for not blaming THEM for my stupid error (which must mean they get some totally out of order abuse - try and do better whoever you are) and with generosity the size of Harry Maguire's head they rustled up a cracking replacement and got it delivered before everything else went cold. Great food, incredible customer service - would give six stars if I could.

Got wrong train and ended up at sanderstead station, wife picked me up in 15 mins and decided to get a takeaway, saw this place. They were very polite, quick and efficient as needed it fairly urgently before wife arrived! They delivered and it was fantastic food! I live in Purley and order Indian every week! This is now my new weekly! Thank you

Ordered at 6:30pm and the delivery guy arrived just after 10pm with my food. No apology just explained the restaurant was busy. The restaurant left their phone off the hook during this time and marked the order as delivered. When the food arrived we said we were going to request a refund so they actually took their food back! Absolutely horrific experience! I’m still waiting for a refund!! Will never ever order from here again.

Do not order from this company. Ordered 3 hours ago, they updated the app delaying constantly then eventually just marked our order as delivered when it wasn’t. They stopped answering the phone so we couldn’t get in touch with them at all. So far they have just taken the money and delivered nothing but are claiming they have. Will be claiming a refund but would warn anyone else from ordering from them going forward.

Made a take way order via Just Eat and the food never arrived. I tried calling the restaurant for an update as it was way past the estimated delivery time but the line was constantly busy. Avoid like a plague.

ordered for the first time tonight, takeaway I could not fault the 5* food service or the delivery time it took and the driver, he was lovely and polite. The chicken tikka Marsala was very fresh, ,the rice was fresh & lovely, they went above and beyond with how lovely and fresh and how nice it all tasted, popadoms was so fresh crisp, naan was lovely, the food was hot, the people there are very nice friendly and helpful, they went above and beyond, I definitely recommend this place and would and also order a takeaway I would like to say a big Thank you 🙏 for making my night and for cooking such lovely food, very much appreciated

Ordered tonight from the Sanderstead Tandoori for the first time, it was one of the nicest Indian takeaways we have had. I asked for advice on a dish i hadn’t before and was recommended to try it. So good.

My Boyfriend and I ordered curry tonight for our quarantine date night and one thing I would like to say is the food was ‘Phenomenal’ 👌🏾 Thank you so much guys u never fail to deliver.

Having previously rated them 5 star for food and service im now rating them one star. Ordered at 6.30pm delivery for 7.20pm called at 8pm to ask where the food was, rude aggressive man shouted us down and said the weather was causing problems with delivery and that our food was on its way. Its now 9.10pm, our food has just arrived cold. The delivery driver was extremely apologetic but frankly the individual that answered the phone has now lost our custom. With a market saturated in takeaway you really can't afford to be rude and aggressive to your customers. Even if you are in a panic. An apology and assurance goes a long way. Extremely disappointed.

Always fantastic food from this restaurant and the friendliest staff. They always go above and beyond for us. I have enjoyed many a takeaway from here over the years! As well as eating in the restaurant.

I can't review the food as they overbooked the place by about 100% They stated that our table booked approximately one week prior would be ready "in about 10 minutes" when it was painfully obvious that all diners were at the beginning of their meals. They won't be getting trade from me anytime soon. The Panahar in Hamsey Green were able to fit us in at short notice and the food there was lovely.

Rude staff! Portion size is shocking .. A main meal has 4 small pieces of chicken. Extremely overpriced & not authentic at all. Save your money & go elsewhere.

Sadly we can't there due to the current situation. Sanderstead tandoori delivered a great take away and we planned a good social distancing by leaving the bags on first set of our steps. Will be visiting as soon as we can.

Worst experience ever was an hour late still didnt recieve food refundednot a call nothing completely useless

The restaurant is behaving very unfairly to customers who order with Uber Eats. If you do they are punishing you by giving you just 5 pieces of chicken in your main meals and smaller portions of everything. This is not permitted. This is like someone paying by card and because they have to pay 20p, giving you a smaller pack of crisps or different products. I will be taking this futher. Your behaviour is not acceptable

Very small and comfortable, food was a bit disappointing. Perhaps I ordered the wrong meal.

This restaurant is walkable for us and we've been there many times. The service and staff-attitude are delightful. They really make you feel valued and at-home. Of course, there are Westernised recipes so that the "natives" can understand the menu; such as Tikka Masala, Jalfraizi, Madras that you would never get in India. But most of the menu is very authentic and the Sunday lunch buffet [which seems to last most of the day] is just as we order in India. Two or three different rices, a selection of veggie curries and subzi [veg accompaniments], flat breads, chutneys. And an Indian beer. Great.

After living in the area for over 30 years I've now found a consistent Indian delivery service, alwaysys turns up piping hot with great flavours. I've only eaten in the restaurant a handful of times but have never been able to fault it. Keep up the great work

Never received my food, and when I called the restaurant, they were extremely rude!!! I will definitely NOT recommend to anyone.

Absolutely appalling service and food. Ordered dinner through uber eats at 6pm and it arrived just before 7, slightly longer than what they said but nevertheless it didnt take too long. It was cold and the portion size was DISRACEFUL. Normally I can only manage half a portion but tonight after eating the meal I was still hungry. To make matter worse they did not deliver the main meal so I phoned them and they said it would be on it's way. 30 mins later still not arrived so phoned the restaurant again and they were "two" mins away. Phoned again to be told my house does not exist. This is currently still going on and the food has not arrived 3 hours after buying it. Tastes appauling too. DO NOT ODER FROM TGEM

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Sanderstead Tandoori today! loved their plates! We could not fault either the food nor the service. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful, the food was excellent and tailored to cater all of our needs and whims! The atmosphere was very enjoyable and no one looked twice at our 3 noisy children! We will most definitely be back again soon and will be recommending to all of our local friends and family 5* experience, thank you 😊

Ordered a takeaway like 2 weeks ago, food was really tasty and the staff were really kind along with their 5* service. Tried out their delivery service couple days later , due to having family round, their delivery service was perfect as it came on time, delivery driver was really friendly and the food was piping hot! Now yesterday I came into eat at the restaurant and literally everything was perfect and the environment and the staff and the selection of music was incredible guys. Honestly I would definitely recommend everyone to try this restaurant out, you will never regret it! Thank you so much for everything Malik and Staff! :)
