Sandbank Bakery in Conwy

Came in today only cakes no hot food. Asked me to wait outside as another customer in so wen left i went in. Shocked by the prices n was told cheaper than conwy. Thats like sayin its cheaper than london. In walks another customer obviously a local and wasnt asked to wait outside. On going out to get my money my cakes wer in A box. I asked if shed charged me for a box she said 10p.i explained if charging for items they should ask first. They said they dont have problems with other customers i said sorry im not soft. Woman behind counter says so are you calling this lady soft. Needless to say i left them there. Sign up says please don't abuse staffas only following orders, so obviously doing something wrong!

Food is nice, good selection the only issue is the staff don't want you to look at it. So went in with my husband & was asked to leave as only 1 person per till. 2 tills 2 people me & my husband. No que outside so no reason. The woman behind the till is like the silent assasin smiling whilst being rude in her approach. Yes I understand Covid rules but I cant accept rudeness. How am I supposed to know what I want if I can't look. Same happened last weekend. Won't be going a third time. Funny there is a sign up saying please don't abuse our staff. I think there has been a few gob fulls given.

Paid £6.23 for 2 cheese pasties and 2 cakes. The pasties taste of absolutely nothing not even cheese so what's in them is like a potato paste wrapped in mounds of pastry.

Popped in for a sweet treat and I can confirm that everything is A1 yummy. All staff wearing Covid PPE. Well worth a visit Enjoy!

Great food but rude staff!! Never been spoken to with so little respect just because I wanted to ask one of my children who were waiting outside if they were happy with a cold sausage roll because they had ran out of hot!! Staff need retraining on how to speak to people!!

Happened on this place by chance and are we glad we did .We got sausage rolls and meat and potato pies , plus a variety of cakes . They were all very enjoyable , especially the jam and cream scone . Our grandson is a fussy eater , but even he enjoyed his sausage roll . Our only gripe was there was no alternative to fresh cream cakes , so one of our party had to do without . But all in all very nice produce and not too bad on price .

Love the pies and the cream cakes are full to the brim with fresh cream.near to the Ty car boot and market. You will have a job finding a better bakery in north Wales.Look forward to it opening after this nasty bugs gone.

This is a great family bakery, proper bread, cakes, and savouries.. The sausage rolls are particularly yummy, nicest ones around. If you’re in the area pop in, you won’t be disappointed...

Having been going to the sandbank bakery for over 10 years it still offers the best cakes in the world. Fantastic variety. Brilliant value. And very moreish. Reasonably priced. Staff are very friendly helpful and chatty. We have to bring back loads for the family and neighbours. Well worth visiting and tasting. Thanks. Keep up the good baking

Just love this bakery,from being a youngster to adulthood,the food from pies,sausage rolls,baps and cakes are just out of this world,beautiful.Pitty i cant say this for one member of staff a mature lady with glasses possibly late 50's early 60's,her attitude is not acceptable for a customer service base job,a gentleman went in with a family member and order a few things,has he continued to give his order (naming what he wanted has each item was bagged up) this particular lady said STOP just let me put these through,the gentleman stated calmly that where he lives they get the order together then put it though,her reply was 'well we do our job properly, the gentleman said sorry,well i couldn't believe what she said to this 'you will be' seriously how is this lady working there. Get a customer Srrvice course under your belt and learn to speak to your customers properly. The two younger girls didnt know where to put themselves,i must admit they was alot politer.

Forty years....They are consistent over a huge chunk of my life and a trip for a few days in Llandudno i knew where i wanted a pie from!Always busy reasonbly priced it's great to see an independent old style bakery still going very strong.....Well worth the number one rating especy as it is a bakery...For the negative moaners here get a grip or a life.....its a bakery..

We visit every year whilst on holiday the cakes as delicious wished we lived closer. I particularly like the lemon iced buns

Went in for a sausage roll for my son, he had already had one 25 minutes earlier but he was hungry.Ignorant bakery worker suggested my 10 year old autistic son needed worming. Shocking disgusting behaviour. Will be returning soon so keep your arrogant comments to yourself.Remember the customers pay your wages, as well as keeping you in business. Fuming.

Found while walking back to the car from the fair. Glad I was hungry and called in because the food was really nice. It was quite late in the day so I had to choose from what was left, but I was not disappointed. Staff were really nice and friendly towards my daughter. She’s already asked to go here again

Lovely little bakery, always a queue and the service is far from slow, so that says a lot. The freshly made food including all the bakery favourites from pies to éclairs, pasties to school style tray bakes as well as fresh sandwiches.

Very busy bakery shop,stock is always fresh,decent sized cakes,reasonable prices,recommend the custard slices!

Enormous cakes, beautifully crafted and utterly delicious. I bought 4 giant cakes and two wonderfully tasty steak and kidney pies— £8 👏👏that averages great value at about £1.30 per item for top quality bakery. All served by friendly knowledgable staff.

This is a lovely little bakery! Lovely staff and lovely food! They do an excellent chocolate eclair they are absolutely massive, they also do a gorgeous jam tart they are to die for! Many other lovely cakes and treats! As I own a caravan in the area I often visit the bakery! I love this place and I wouldn’t hear a wrong word said about it! Yum!!!!

Every time we stay in Towyn Abergele, we visit Sandbank Bakery as there cakes, and pies are Delicious! Always a Big queue out of the door as people come from All over North Wales to Buy there Produce! Also very Friendly Staff.

Having spent a week in North Wales visiting relatives and the Great Little Trains of Wales, I decided to bring a bara brith home with me to Germany. Having called in at Towyn with no success, the helpful lady there suggested that I call in on the shop in Rhyl. I was unaware that the Sandbank Bakery had a shop there and was given instructions how to get there.

We visited this bakery a few times last week whilst we were away and everything we were very pleased. The meat and potato pies are gorgeous and we definitely recommend them. Also the cream cakes are to die for. We even called there for some pies before heading home. It's definitely worth a trip there and we will definitely be back again soon.

Loads of cakes to choose from, spoilt for choice! We’ve had potato & meat, steak & kidney pies, cheese & onion pasty and lemon buns and cream doughnuts. All lovely. Staff are polite and friendly too

This gem as been there for years,we have been using this bakers for a long time,well worth a visit ,there muffins are sound great for your bacon butties.

Lovely fresh baked products and a good selection of cakes. You do need to be there earlyish especially in holiday season to avoid the queues, but worth the wait.

We were staying at a local campsite but fancied some cream cakes and scones so went here. In the end we had cream cakes and beautiful bakewell slices and carrot cake. They really were lovely. They also do hot pies. You must visit this bakery if in the area

Their finger iced buns are the best. Have ever tasted. They are so light not heavy and stodgy like many other I have tasted. Keep On making them.

This little shop has been here for yrs, I can remember holidaying in Rhyl 30 plus yrs ago and going here. It’s not much to look at once you get inside, the decor is old but nice and clean. What grabs you when you go in is the fantastic array of fresh cream cakes on offer. It’s like a dream to anyone who loves cake, especially fresh cream. They by no means scrimp on the cream, it’s lavish in its application, therefore leaving you wanting more!! They also sell sandwiches and sandwiches, but it’s the cakes that will have you going back

I had my first ever piece of Carrot Cake here 40 yrs ago when we were staying at my Mums caravan on Sandy Bay so as we were so close decided tot try one, we bought Carrot Cakes & Vanilla Slices which were very good.

This is the best bakery around towyn because it's the only bakery in towyn gets busy during the summer because once again it's the only bakery in towyn

First time we walked past this bakery whilst on our holiday, it was really busy so we thought we'd give it a go next time we walked past. When we did, we planned to get a cake to eat then and a pack of Welsh cakes to have later. The look of disdain from both the ladies serving to be told "if you want Welsh cakes, go to Asda". So we took our custom elsewhere. I can't imagine that'll be the first or last time they are asked for Welsh cakes, bearing in mind they probably live off the tourism custom and Welsh cakes are meant to be traditionally Welsh?! Completely and unnecessarily rude.

I have bought pasties cakes and bread from this bakery and all have been excellent and the service is lovely always smiling and helpful no matter how busy it is.

Visited here once on a day trip into wales and now travel here regularly just for the bakery. The cakes and pies are amazing and all freshly baked and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. Definitely the best bakery I have visited and if you're in the area certainly worth a visit. Excellent value for money!

Really fresh and traditional bakery with fresh creamed cakes, hot pasties, bread you name it. Such a variety aswell.

When heading to north Wales, will always go and get a pie or pasty and apple turnover. Even if takes me put of my way. They are always excellent

What a lovely bakery. All freshly baked every day. Asked for 3 rolls with meat and salad and the ladies made them up fresh. Rolls were soft and fluffy and plenty of filling. Lots of cream cakes on offer, looking delicious and tempting, will be going back for a taste. Ladies very helpful and friendly. Certainly worth a visit.

Every time we come to Towyn we cannot resist a visit to Sandbank Bakery for their delicious selection of bread, cakes, pies and pastries we try to resist but just have to have some. They are reasonably priced for their size. The staff are good and move the ques along quickly.

We visit this bakery quite alot. Its always busy . They sell bread , pasties pies etc we havent tried them but the cakes are excellent. The staff are always friendly and the service is quick. The only thing I will say is there are no prices on the products. This has resulted in us not buying some as its embarassing having to ask.

My friend and I visited this upstanding fine establishment today. Upon entering they told us that we had got our sandwiches elsewhere and that we shouldn't have and we could have gotten it from there.... awkward moment.

A friend recommended this place,cakes took me back to when I was a kid,the chocolate eclairs are outstanding,not overpowered with sugar,I also tried the cream scones,then my eyes spotted the trifles I used to have as a lad,staff welcoming,please please try this place,you will not be disappointed

Just off the high street this little bakery offers a wide variety of pastries and cakes. Hot and cold savoury snacks to fresh cream cakes and sandwiches.

Both me and my little boy visited the sandbank bakery on our holiday, and did not disappoint, there were plenty of cream cakes to choose from as well as savoury choices,the staff were so kind and helpful, the cakes were full of cream and this is by far the best bakery we have been to with good value for money.

We all thoroughly loved our cakes, the staff were lovely and very patient as there was 12 of us. Can't wait to come back.

Strangely doesn't open till 9.30 which I would consider late for a bakery, and they don't sell pork pies! However, these are the only negatives. We bought barm cakes, or baps depending where you're from! Also meat and potato pies and sausage rolls. All we're of a great standard, particularly the barns which maintained their freshness till the following day. A far cry from Asda's awful offering. The staff were lovely and even gave us a wave when we walked past on Sunday afternoon!!

If you are staying in Towyn, Sandbank bakery is a must visit if you like homemade cakes & pastries. The bakery is about halfway down Sandbank Rd.turn right at the main traffic lights in Towyn if ur coming from Rhyl & it's on the left hand side heading towards the beach. The bakery has been there many years & owned by the same family,all the cakes are excellent & and very moreish there are always queues outside in peek weeks as its so popular. Well recommended.

Staying in Llandudno but had to make a bus journey to Towyn for sandbank bakery as they are the best cakes in the UK. Also recommend the bread the best. Special journey on way back home to collect some cakes for tea!!! Thanks sandbank diet gone down the pan this weekend.

I live in oldham chadderton and we had at one point 2 bakery's Burnye's that changed to hampsons and a greggs. Then hampsons moved and we had a martins but not the best. now we only have a greggs and I just wish we had Baker'y like this one as every time we go to wales we go here as we have a caravan in rhyl and this is best Bakery in towyn. The lady there said when we bought the white baps she said try toasting them and we did they lovely toasted. my fave cake is the pink icing finger with cream . nice pies the stake ones are a bit peppery but still good. Years ago we loved one that was in the old kwik save at Pensarn Gibson's every thing there was bang on but when summerfield took over they got rid of that bakery now it a factory outlet.

I use this bakery all the time all the produce from there is lovely. The staff are a lovely bunch. Lots of cakes to choose from. Worth a visit.

If you want beautiful cakes and pastries that are sooo crumbly then this is the place to go.. My word the place is a little gem, a real good old fashioned bakery! Gorgeous <3

All the things that I had from this bakery have been superb. Especially the pasty and of course the lemon bun.

I have been visiting this bakery sine being a young child. I have always enjoyed their cakes, recently I have found the icing on the cream ice buns has changed, the icing goes to nothing and is very watery. Vanilla slice is not the same as these bases have now become hard and the center doesn't have as much flavour.Have you changed recipes

I haven't visited this bakery in years it brings back a lot of childhood memories when I used to come to buy cakes for my nana and grandad. Its a lovely bakery, fresh cakes, sausage rolls, pasty's and pies. The cakes are to die for and the staff are lovely. Worth a visit.

This bakery with its amazing cakes and pies, is one of the reasons we come to Towyn. Towyn holds lots of fond family memories for us and this bakery has been at the centre. Try the delicious cream filled iced doughnuts especially the one with lemon curd. Heaven
