Sanams in Manchester

RAW CHICKEN!!! The 2 veggie starters were nice however two separate meals both had raw chicken. The mixed grill sizzler and the chicken burger had pink chicken!! They took away our meals offered a replacement but we’d had enough at this point as we had been waiting ages. They brought our food out in bits and pieces too. Half brought and then other half came 20 mins later. Not good enough! Manager raising his voice at a group of three girls who told them of the issue and showed him the chicken. Refused to take off the bill and other people were beginning to watch so we paid and left.

Buffett was very good and with great food and service in Rusholme SANAM with excellent customer service overall very outstanding environment id recommend this to everyone

A dreadful experience on entering the restaurant we were sat by the window which was nice but the place was cold and uncomfortable. We asked for the heating which was switched on but the heater was not producing much heat. We ordered a traditional dish the food was tasteless and had been heated in a microwave judging from its temperature and steam which was coming from the food. The handi dish was a few pieces of meat in a watery curry sauce with green peppers!!! Since when has handi dish been cooked with raw chunks of green pepper??? It was tasteless the other dish was spinach based again tasteless it was like eating wall paper paste. We had driven from Chester the whole evening was a complete waste it was a waste of our time and money I can honestly say take sways in Chester would out this restaurant to shame. This place used to be good few years Bach but standards have really dropped. We will not be visiting again and anyone not familiar with Pakistani cuisine is bound to get a very negative view of the food avoid at all costs!

Poor service and very unprofessional management order 2 staters 1 came in 5 minutes and smosa was so cold just took 2 spoon and left it 2nd starter took ages to come and they spill all the salt of their restaurant on my quarter piece of chicken terrible taste left it there and and main course never arrived and at the end we left the place by paying whole bill which we never had and they were offering to take your food with me, we came all they way glasgow and they made us so upset 👎👎!!!!

We shared a tandoori mixed grill, bindhi gosht, paratha, rice and raita, with plain lassi, for £40, and it was as excellent as I remember it since 25 years ago

The food tasted like it had been hanging around a bit. I had stomach cramps all that night which kept me awake. Poppadoms tasted not freshly made, raita curdled, meals uninspiring. Even the tap water tasted odd. Service OK. I have been visiting the Sanam for years but this is the last time. You are not short of alternatives on the curry mile. Restaurant OK but toilets - to me a benchmark - were clean but tired and in need of a refurb.

Food was fresh & tasty Service was great and staffs were accommodating. Restaurant can be very busy so there is some wait. They make the best cake!

Saturday evening meal for 5 - good menu choices, tasty food, good portion sizes, good service, reasonable prices.

Been eating here for years we come at least once a week or have a takeaway if we don’t eat in. Always go for the Chicken Karahi, tried many other dishes but believe this is by far the best. It’s a nice cheap tasty meal. Myself and partner get 1 curry, 1 rice, Nan & chips and two starters for around the £30 mark.

On the Thursday I had a starter and main course, but always wanted to try the sweets, so I did the next day. I had never had lentil dumplings as a starter. Didn't know what they were going to be like. Pleasantly surprised.

A trip down memory Lane. Manchester students …. Amazing food. Great staff. Can’t fault it! Window seat watching the world go by too. Must come back to try more things on the menu

I was very disappointed with the food and the service. I ordered chicken tikka korma. What arrived, after a long wait, was standard chicken korma and not chicken tikka korma. The waiter took it away but almost immediately brought the same dish back to the table. He assured me that the chicken was chicken tikka just not coloured. I accepted it but it was not chicken tikka. I also ordered a garlic nan which was equally uninspiring. It was bland, dry and nowhere near garlicky enough. I was with a friend and although we asked for separate bills they gave us a joint bill. It took them ten minutes to sort that one out. I won’t be coming back in a hurry.

This evening I took the family to Sanam Restaurant at Rusholme, I have to be honest this place was utterly disappointing as service was very poor, we felt as they wanted us out of there ASAP... They food quality all that but portion size was really really bad, I'd actually say we we've been robbed with quantity... Never again!!! Best advice, stay away from to this place My Lahore is 100 times better!!!

We have known this restaurant for well over 25 years and have visited many times. after years of lockdown due to COVID we ventured another visit. we were welcomed and shown a road side table. Good so far. The premises showed its age, old carpets and décor, dark an unwelcoming. Menu was straight forward and the elderly gentleman who took the order did speak reasonable English unlike he few young lads in white shirts and tie. We ordered fish tikka and meat samosa for starters. Fish was good but samosa was very disappointing, sour and unpalatable. Ordered lamb biryani, aloo paratha and chicken curry. The parotta was like card board, Biryani was not authentic but not bad. PROBABLY WILL NOT COME HERE AFAFGAIN

I travelled up from Birmingham for a day trip to Blackpool Beach today 7th August 2022 and decided to visit Sanam Restaurant in Manchester on the Wilmslow Road. I had a lovely experience of this place 3 years ago so decided to eat the same I had those many years ago. I ordered a Mild cod masala balti dish with fries, raita and salad with mango lassi. Ordered 3 poppadoms with chutney whilst I waited. Lo and behold I got instead a VERY HOT cod masala balti dish. I am a diabetic and was hungry so forced it down me as did not want to wait another 20 mins. Upon receiving the bill of £22.75, I asked the waiter who took my order if the chef is deaf or blind. I asked for a mild not a very hot one. His reply?.... "the chef never listens. He does as he pleases. He just shrugs his shoulders and says he does it his way...." I asked for a discount for the issue but was told as I ate it all I don't get a discount. Moral of the story......if you want a mild dish THEN AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE AS YOU WILL GET A VERY HOT ONE!!

Absolutely rubbish cold and food not freshly cooked. Ordered mixed grill and it was not fresh. Heated up in microwave. Chaat was just chicken peas and yogart no potatoes or onions

Wanted something nice for lunch, my dad took us there. The food was cold and felt like and tasted a day old. The man who was serving didn’t care and wasn’t interested in what we had to say. If you want a decent meal please avoid this restaurant as you will be very disappointed

everything we ordered, was perfect to taste. service was very good. one exceptional thing here is that all waiting staff looks after you- not just one that is asigned to you. such a major game changer. we were so pleased with this. very happy overall.

Staying in Manchester overnight and popped in for a takeaway. Delicious food and no too long to wait. The lamb dish was tender in flavourful sauce, and came with rice and a nice side salad too.
