San Wu House in Dudley

After using this Chinese many times and the food always being excellent- I ordered yesterday I collected my food and it was awful - salty / bland / definitely tasteless - I will be looking for a new take away - not sure if they have changed kitchen staff

I have been eating takeaway from here since day one (36 years) Linda is a lovely person and very helpful, I can honestly say I personally have never once had reason to complain or criticise the food I have eaten from here be it either collected or delivered.

San wu house is a Chinese Takeaway in Wollaston Stourbridge. The food is excellent, the service is quick considering how busy they are.. they also do a delivery service. We have been using them for the last 10 years never had a bad meal.

The best! Never had a bad meal, can get very busy but that just proves how good they are

Food is good but please please please take the order on answering the phone. Every single time you call the phone is answered and then you are told to wait. You can then hear orders being taken from people waiting in the shop. You are kept hanging on the phone which is annoying, rude and in the current circumstances costly when minutes pass by

Been a regular at this Chinese since I was a literal child. Never disappoints and makes you truly appreciate the service when they remember your names after all these years, even if you don’t order for a few months. Excellent food.

Great service, great food and all ways busy… I think just that alone should say enough about it… This is a must try Chinese and the only thing I can find as a fault it that everything has peas in it… including the rice.. other than that really worth having the takeaway!! Go try it

After a nasty experience with our usual takeaway thought we would try out San Wu on Sat night, ordered over the phone before 6pm, answered immediately, order taken and advised 30 min delivery time arrived after 20 minutes, food was hot tasty and lots off, even given an extra of starters and prawn crackers, which did for a lunch on Monday, so a total bonus. Will be using this establishment in future

3 slices of mushroom in a beef and mushroom curry joke, wrong sauce arrived,couldn't be bothered to notice you as it would take to long, Eating food, would take to long to arrive

I have eaten here now two or three times over the last month and I highly recommend them, I had a duck chow mein and a different time a chicken chow mein so I found them. Good quality with good amount of meat, served hot, fairly priced. Friendly staff.

New to the area and won’t go anywhere else the food is hot and full of taste the staff are very friendly will admit I haven’t had much luck ringing my order thought but can see why when I got there was over 20 people inside and out the food was with the wait keep up the good work

Food is always fab.... staff are always friendly. Not sure if having your name remembered at the take away is good or not (but they do. They even asked after my neighbours when they moved).

Was recommended to this place and wow I'm so glad I tried it. The food is very good quality and so tasty. The portions are big and not over priced. The Singapore chow mein was the best I've had. Would highly recommend.

In 20 years this place has never disappointed us. We travel over 5 miles for this take away.

Loooong wait for our food but the shop was heaving and the lady kept taking online orders too so it was to be expected. The food was bang on and it's of a higher quality than other establishments in my opinion, hence why we keep going back. They've got a 5/5 hygiene rating and a queue out the door on a freezing night clearly means they're doing something right.

Always fantastic food and lovely service. Can sometimes be a long wait but this is due to how popular the restaurant is and they are always upfront about wait times so no bother at all. Recommend, wouldn't go elsewhere.

This is the best Chinese takeout in the area, the food is 100% quality and very tasty highly recommended.

Always used to go here: It's been great, my favourite. But the last 2 times I have ordered its been very poor. Last time we ordered food came stone cold and didn't taste great. Thought it was a fluke tried again - it's disappointing. The beef in black bean was lovely as was the Cantonese pork. But we had a large spring roll and the beans prouts they filled it with must have been bad because they were disgusting and not edible. Also, the chicken chop suey tasted vile as did the egg fried fried. Won't be using again.

Not impressed. My friend eats from here all the time, so I took his advice and ordered the house chow mien and spare ribs. There were 4 and a half ribs as opposed to 7 or 8 I get from my regular take away, the chow mien was rather tasteless and covered in a slimy sauce and the beansprouts tasted like they cooked in old chip fat. Back to my regular one then.

Used for years, always enjoy the food. However, waiting times are increasing which is disappointing, 1 hour wait for collection and it takes a long time to get through on phone to place an order, but guess it shows its popularity.

Wanted to support a local business so tried to order a take away. Rang 80times before I was answered then sat on the phone being ignored while assistant served other people. After holding for 4 minutes I hung up

Always use this one for the last 3 years but not very nice tonight so go some were else next time

Ordered here for the first time! Ordered sweet and sour chicken and it was over cooked! The sauce was also tangy. Egg fried and crackers were nice. I will continue going to my local.

Great food from here,and friendly staff, we have used for years! However in this modern day with all of the technology available to be trying for over an hour and be unable to get through is really unacceptable! This is not the case for any other take away or restaurant we use or order from, however most now are available through delivery apps.

My absolute favourite go to Chinese takeaway. Staff are super friendly and love the food and free treats for spend over certain values.

I hadn't been there for ages ordered chips and curry sauce and fried rice and curry sauce in a tray and another curry sauce and 2 cans of Pepsi got home and the chips and curry sauce and the fried rice and curry sauce were in a small rice tray were at every other Chinese I've been to they come in the large foil trays definitely no worth the money

Best Chinese takeaway anywhere.

Ordered from here before and food was quite acceptable. Ordered as Hong kong takeaway was closed. All food with the exception of rice was over-cooked and dry. I will not be ordering from here again. Sorry.

Everyone developes a feel for their own favourite takeaway’s style and taste, however every now and then you need to have a change, just to see what else is out there. We decided on San Wu House as it had been recommended to us recently. Without a menu or phone number to hand, I made the trip to order and collect in person and was greeted by an absolutely packed shop. That’s a good sign right? Very busy telephone, constantly ringing, lots of customers coming and going, service was fine. Waiting time was average for how busy the shop was and everyone seemed happy. Whilst the food itself wasn’t horrid, it wasn’t really yummy either. Chow mien tasted a little “panned” a slightly metallic taste as if it had been flash fried to quickly and taken on the taste of the pan it was cooked in. Curry a little on the bland side, Satay was a little less punchy than I would have liked, all that said, it was all eaten with just a side comment of “maybe we should have stuck with the the devil we know”. It was worth a try to mix things up a bit, we will keep the menu in the kitchen draw, but a re visit won’t be for quite a while I’m afraid.

Collected my takeaway about 30 mins ago and have to say it was the worst Chinese I’ve ever had . From the undercooked chips which tasted left over to the burnt spring rolls and flavourless curry at least the bin enjoyed it . I would never eat from here again as would rather starve

Ordered food for 2 people at 7pm food came around 9pm it was paid for and then we opened it.....some one else's food order! We called them up to some one answering the phone saying "wait" and then the phone was hung up! Called back again after waiting to get through saying that they were busy and to eat the food, not being funny if I wanted duck I would of orderd it but because I'm a veggie it's not something I crave! We then spoke to what I can imagine to be the manager who said our food would be there soon when asked how long she said they can't give a time frame. The food then turned up around 20 mins later and low an behold there was food missing off our order! We then called again to express our anger and asked for our money back to which we were told that we need to wait till Tuesday to receive this,not good enough , advised then that the driver would bring it tonight may be as they are busy again not my problem at all , told them that waiting 2 hours for food to it then arriving and being the wrong order to then having to wait another 20 mins for the right order to then having food missing was not good enough or acceptable this manager then hung up !!!! Absolutely disgusting behaviour and service , this woman has no people skills at all who we spoke to and they obviously cannot cope with being busy! Will not be ordering from here again this is a joke of a "restaurant" run by what can only be described as Muppets!

We have used this excellent take away for years. We travel literally past six other Chinese restaurants to get food from this one. Enough said!

We use San Wu house most Fridays on. It's very popular so can be a bit busy, but the food's worth it and service is lovely!

Best Chinese food in the West Midlands....gets my vote every time

Ordered from here a few times before and food is really good. Problem is they are popular and just can’t cope when busy. Tonight, we ordered food for delivery at 6.45 and were told it was an hour and 10 minutes to wait. That’s fair enough it was a Saturday. But over two hours later our food still hadn’t arrived. We called and were told that all the tickets had been mixed up but we could be next and would get food in 25minutes. Just terrible way to handle that. We ended up cancelling and trying golden star in Oldswinford instead. Called and went to collect within 20mins. That’s more like it.
